some light s4 speculation- probably five continues to be very tired but he gets to pick his own clothes about it! in drawing this i convinced myself that five should get to have a trench coat, and also that he should have a giant carabiner clip of keys - for all his siblings' living situations so he can break into their house at a moment's notice, and also steal their car.

I was working on my next fic and the phrase "Oh, I'm gonna fuck 'em up" came out of my mouth (both referring to the characters and the readers with the angst I'm writing) and I just started cackling with glee.

(Sometimes I think it's probably a good thing that I'm a pacifist/really not into hurting people's feelings irl. Because I could do some damage.)

Vomit Pile #1

Summary: The Avengers have dealt with a lot, portals aren't uncommon, and enemies coming through them are just as common. What they don't expect, is a scrawny teenage boy coming through one with no clue who the hell they are.

Fandoms: Avengers, The umbrella Academy

AC/DC thrummed through the lab, Tony Stark working on his next update for one of his suits. The Avenger's tower has been quiet lately, which left most of them on edge. Tony threw himself into his work, while Steve and Bucky spent most of their time in the gym. Bruce spent most of his time in the med-bay, considering the amount of time they turned to him for medical advice he figured he'd look into it.

The rest of the Avengers were scattered around, each finding their own way to keep their time busy while they waited for the next big bad to rear its ugly head. The tower became more of a stopping point, a place for them all to come and settle before they went off on their own personal missions.

“Sir, it appears a mass of energy forming in the main living room” Tony paused, glaring at his lowered music before the words processed.

“A portal?” He asked, grabbing two metal bracelets and making his way to the elevator, music and work long forgotten and replaced with anxiety and concern. “Alert the others.”

“Do we have any clue what’s on the other side?” Steve asked, his shield rested against his hip. A swirling blue and white portal was opened a few feet above them, a few minutes have passed since they gathered and nothing has happened.

“No clue, but J.A.R.V.I.S says the energy signature is different from the one reindeer games came through.” Tony sighed, he was geared up but his mask was flipped up. Bucky stood quietly to the side, eyes trained on the portal just like everyone else. Bruce was settled a little ways away, just in case his help was needed. “Hey, I think I see something?”

It was a blurry image but it was pretty clear that something, or more so someone was coming through the portal. The being hit the ground with a thud, black clothing sprawled around him. It took the team a second to realize that the man on the floor was actually a young teen.

“No no no no no no no!” The teen cried pulling himself onto his knees, hands thrown up in the air and gaze focused on the slowly shrinking portal. “Come on! You can’t do this to me! You can’t tell me this is a good idea, I can’t be unsupervised! FIVE!”

“Hey, kid?’ Tony asked, lowering his arm from the aim. The teen completely ignored him, instead yelling obscenities and names well until the portal finally closed.

“This can’t be happening!” The teen whined, curling in on himself and laying along the carpet. Tony glanced among the others, all of them at loss of how to approach this. They expected danger, immediate danger, instead they got a teen who was barely dressed and seemed to be in the middle of a crisis.

“Hey, are you alright?” Bruce was the next one to talk, walking slowly until he stood in front of the teen. Everyone watched, tense and ready to step in if this turned out to just be a trap.

“Nope, not at all.” He groaned, flopping onto his back and looking up at the scientist. It gave the room a clear view of some of the scars scattered across his bare torso. “I need a smoke, or a drink, or all… everything, that’s what I need.”

“Wait, he’s like twelve?” Tony motioned towards the kid, turning his gaze to Steve and Bucky.

“Sh.” Steve shushed him, turning his focus back on the duo before them.

“I’m Bruce.” Bruce spoke, taking a seat near the boy. “Can you tell me your name and how you got here?”

“Klaus, and everyone would kill me if I just blurted out our business like this.” Klaus laughed, shaking his head against the ground. “But they aren’t here, so who's to say no? Whose to tell me that was a bad idea?”

Bruce paused, glancing towards the trio quietly watching from the sideline, none of them really gave much help on how Bruce should approach this. The only experience the scientist had with kids was back when he was hiding from the government, before the avengers.

“We just wanted to stop the end of the world, and what did that get us? STUCK IN TIME!” Klaus flailed his hands into the air before they fell with an audible thump. “I don’t even know why we tried, I mean what did the world do for us? Have us raised by a narcissistic millionaire and an android mom, only purpose is to be superheroes. Like who wants that life?!”

“How, how many are there?” Bruce asked, letting the boy vent as much as he needed.

“Uh, seven. Well six, one of us died.” Klaus mused, suddenly turning his focus towards Tony. “Tin-man?” He asked, craning his head as far back as the floor would let him. Hazel eyes burning into the glowing center of the iron man suit.

“Hey!” Tony started, but was cut off when the teen suddenly jumped up. He sat straight up, eyes flickering between the four adults in the room.

“Hold on, who are you people?” Klaus asked, pointing accusingly at each of them. “I mean who's okay with someone just falling into their living room?? Much less through a portal!”

“You don’t know us?” Tony asked, the soft sounds of gears sounded as the suit opened, allowing him to step out. “We’re the avengers.” The lack of recognition in the teen’s face was enough to tell everyone he had no clue who they were.

“Are you supposed to be like the umbrella academy?” He asked, tilting his head ever so slightly in confusion.

going back thru my starmora bookmarks on ao3 from that era between vol 2 and iw just makes me feel so <3333 like we ALL had such better takes on iw/eg than what ended up happening for real, and the way some things became like starmora hivemind where multiple ppl used it in their fics (like everyone dying but then coming back to life during the fight against thanos or mantis being peter’s biological sibling [both of which later ended up becoming canon actually LMAO]), a lot of starmora fandom also being mantis/nebula shippers, also the occasional avengers academy fic back from when that app existed...i gotta admit i miss those days!
