Congrats Nene on achieving World Link scores surpassed only by Rui (thus far)

Felt the need to doodle for the occassion. Nene completely exceeded the expectations of both myself and many, many others. Her World Link event had so many things going against it. Coming right off the heels of Rui’s bloodbath of WL that far surpassed every other WL that came before, and taking place entirely during weekdays (Rui’s WL was mostly a weekend affair), and on top of all that, Tsukasa’s 3rd event was starting on both krsekai and ensekai on the SAME DAY.

Nene is more popular than a lot of people assume, but her events generally aren’t very competitive. And since a lot of people were blindsided by and burnt out from how comped Rui’s event was, I honestly expected that Nene would end up somewhere in the middle. Or at best, somewhere around Akito. Instead Nene’s points nickel and dimed their way to solidly exceeding Kanade, placing her second under Rui.

Wondershow fans, you amaze and terrify me.

No offense, but the people asking for a Les Mis 2012 Extended Director’s cut with bonus extra scenes that somehow magically makes the movie better and retroactively fixes its problems, remind me of those people who were asking for the Secret Good Fourth Sherlock Episode…..

As a fan of the weird wonky mess that is Les Mis 2012, I feel like you kinda just gotta take it for what it is. XD

And I also don’t think you can expect a “remastered” version to fix anything, because almost all “remasters” are basically just minor visual tweaks that give film companies an excuse to charge you for the same product again.

it's not about franz hopper, it's not about the men in black, it's not about carthage. all of that stuff is just set dressing to provide a basic explanation for why the supercomputer and xana are here in the first place. it's not about the past, it's about the present, it's about the five kids and their lives, their relationships, their struggles and their fight against xana. and I don't want a reboot that loses sight of that in favour of fleshing out a backstory with details that really don't matter.

Does any one know like very good platforms to post their art? Or any tips on how to grow more that doesn't involve changing your art style or what you draw?

thinking about lester for once. and about how i usually don't think about him.

lester is the youngest child of a middle-class couple who could have done without having any children, never mind three. i see lester as being trudy and victor's marriage saving baby, their chance to have another go at that whole parenting thing, seeing as the twins turned out to be such hardwork. this baby, they think, will be easier. but then it turns out the sinclairs just... don't really like children.

lester falls to the wayside, because not only are his parents just not that interested in him, but the twins just take up so much of their time.

lester was destined to be overshadowed in life. how couldn't he be, when his older siblings stand out so badly?

they were conjoined twins, a quality which even now (let alone in the early 70s) is looked at with a certain sort of morbid curiosity. even after they were separated, vincent still bears the scars of "what" they were. bo is labelled as the "troublemaker" and, as they get older, he lives up to it. vincent is labelled as the "child prodigy" and, as they get older, he tries to keep living up to it. they cut a striking picture, six feet tall and hostile to outsiders. but it's not just that, they're weird. they have an interest in the macabre, they listen to loud music and as teenagers they were just about the only people under 50 who go to the matinee showings of baby jane and east of eden and house of usher the theatre puts on for the old folk in town. the twins talk to each other and nobody else understands.

lester, on the other hand, is unremarkable. he didn't need as much as the twins did in terms of extra care (which probably, ultimately contributed to his neglect). in all the ways that make vince and bo fundamentally strange, lester is fundamentally ordinary. and sure, maybe he's weird, but not in the enigmatic way that vincent is, or the intimidating way that bo is.

there's not a doubt in my mind that lester is interesting. his knowledge, his interests, his morals and his choices. all of these things make him interesting, but in comparison to his brothers -- the terrible twins -- he isn't interesting enough for people. people don't notice him.

lester needs someone who is enamoured with him, even with the twins casting their shadow over him. he needs someone who doesn't see the twins first and him as an after thought.

You know, sometimes I think about how I characterize Sanae and realize that I really do kinda just project a lot of my hyperfixations on her.

Like, there’s no evidence that she’s SUPER into DOOM 1 and 2 era FPS’s and other “boomer shooters,” but you CAN NOT convince me she hasn’t AT LEAST beat DOOM 1 and 2 like one hundred times each, and wasn’t VIOLENTLY disappointed when DOOM 3 came out.
