Olympian and multiple gold medal winner Kelly Holmes has come out as a lesbian at the age of 52. When she was in the military, it was still illegal for LGBT people to serve, and while that law is now gone, she worried about being retroactively disciplined for the same-sex relationships she had while serving. She's also spoken out about the mental health difficulties she's experienced from being closeted for so long. It's never too late to come out and share your truth!

I'm proud of her for doing this, it must be even more difficult to come out when you're a celebrity and you spend decades being assumed as straight. This article explains a bit her story :

She apparently also released a documentary titled "Being Me" where she talks about the pain of having to hide for all these years who she really is, I would be interested to see it if I had a link. Congratulation on her !
