I’ve genuinely been watching at least one currently airing idol anime non-stop since Fall 2020, right. And I was. So worried that this was going to end this season. Eternal Boys is the only non-sequel idol show airing right now and not a single official English source picked it up at all. Some Japanese exclusive streaming service grabbed the show and those have been uploaded to nyaa at a very confusing rate of frequency, but even then they’re on episode 8 already. I’d honestly given up hope of seeing the show. My Japanese isn’t good enough to watch a proper anime with presumably somewhat complicated dialogue if the cast are all jaded middle aged men instead of slice of life high school girls. And not a single English group seemed interested in picking it up either.

Though if I’m making this post, you already know things have changed for the better. As recently as literally yesterday, an anonymous group (but all the filenames have KudouSubs in them lol) dropped the first episode of the show. And just within the last 12 hours, they dropped the second, as well.

I’m finally fucking watching an idol show again! It doesn’t have to be over! The streak hasn’t been interrupted! Currently airing constantly for over 2 years! Let’s FUCKING go!

And hey also, the first 2 episodes were pretty decent too! Not amazing or anything but had more character and personality than I think I actually expected, to where I’m genuinely looking forward to watching more. Life is good.

Weird how certain memories just get tied to things. I can remember which Roblox game I was playing the first time I listened to a particular song. I look at a stuffed animal I knitted and memories of watching ff7 remake streams in my basement at the beginning of the 2020 pandemic come flowing back.
