Some advice on how to start studying the sources generally can be found in these older posts
Remember to check out  A Guide to Starting a Liberation Martial Arts Gym as it may help with your own club/gym/dojo/school culture and approach.Check out their curriculum too.
Fear is the Mind Killer: How to Build a Training Culture that Fosters Strength and Resilience by   Kajetan Sadowski   may be relevant as well.
“How We Learn to Move: A Revolution in the Way We Coach & Practice Sports Skills”  by Rob Gray  as well as this post that goes over the basics of his constraints lead, ecological approach.
Another useful book to check out is  The Theory and Practice of Historical European Martial Arts (while about HEMA, a lot of it is applicable to other historical martial arts clubs dealing with research and recreation of old fighting systems).
Trauma informed coaching and why it matters
Why having a systematic approach to training can be beneficial
Why we may not want one attack 10 000 times, nor 10 000 attacks done once, but a third option.
How consent and opting in function and why it matters.
More on tactics in fencing
Open vs closed skills
The three primary factors to safety within historical fencing
Worth checking out are this blogs tags on pedagogy and teaching for other related useful posts.
And if you train any weapon based form of historical fencing check out the ‘HEMA game archive’ where you can find a plethora of different drills, focused sparring and game options to use for effective, useful and fun training.
For more on how to use youtube content for learning historical fencing I suggest checking out these older posts on the concept of video study of sparring and tournament footage.
Consider getting some patches of this sort or these cool rashguards to show support for good causes or a t-shirt like to send a good message while at training.

In 2018 Maurizio Cattelan made Untitled, a 1:6-scale replica—in fresco on panel—of the Sistine Chapel. He included it in a show he curated for Gucci during Shanghai Fashion Week, around the idea that "The copy is the original."
A hand-painted reproduction in watercolor by Qi Han of an from Gucci's facebook [above] is included in Cattelan: The 11th Commandment (2024), the fourth in a series of publications Three Star Books has created with the artist since 2007. Each features facsimiles of hand-lettered and hand-painted watercolor pages. A deluxe edition also includes an original watercolor which, alas, for The 11th Commandment, is not this one.

You are here now. You painted the streets a thousand times in your imagination, from the colors of Alexander’s memory; but you always imagined golden domes. You wouldn’t have dreamed up a city without them. Maybe the Saints fled this place too.
Dmitri Orlov, (former) podporuchik, Sixth Aviation Battle Group of Their Imperial Majesty’s Raskan Air Corps.
Me and @agarthanguide’s poor naive out-of-his-depth pilot boy from our project Facsimile! (Art and designs by her!) He starts the story in a city he’s never been before, looking for the dashing Sciathain army captain who cut him and his parachute out of a tree during the war, and It Gets Worse. He’s an artist fascinated by magic, despite his conservative upbringing.
The left is the ceremonial uniform of a Raskan pilot, and the right is Dmitri’s regular uniform.

I hate hate hate the fucking medical industry and their god damn mother fucking FAX MACHINE bullshit!!! !@!$#!%%!#!%%!
I need a referral to a GTI specialist. My doctor's office faxes the referral to the GTI specialist. The GTI specialist calls me to schedule my appointment. Whoopsie! During the call they notice that my doctor didn't send them the right Medicaid Referral form, and they can't schedule my appointment until they have that. They are going to ask my doctor's office for it and call me back when they have it.
TWO FULL BUSINESS DAYS LATER
I still haven't gotten a call back. So I call the GTI specialist who called me. Did my doctor get you the right form yet? Nope! We faxed them back a request on Friday but we still don't have it. Okay fine, I will call my doctor's office.
Call my doctor's office, in the phone tree I pick "calling about an existing referral." Of course the person who answers isn't at my doctor's office, they're in a different building somewhere else maybe even a call center. They pull up my account. Looks like they sent the form on Friday! Well, they said they didn't get it. Can you send it again? Ohhhh maybe they want THIS form actually, this old official form that "nobody" uses anymore. Okay so she's sending something to someone else named Amber, and Amber is going to fax them this other form.
So the thing about these stupid fuckers that none of them want to admit to themselves and each other is that NONE OF THEM ACTUALLY HAVE FAX MACHINES!!! They just fucking don't, they don't have a physical fax machine plugged into a god damned phone line that spits out pieces of paper. They have fax servers, that are just computers connected to an IP phone number that pretend to be a fax machine, and when they get a fax they turn it into an e-mail.
So the specialist office acts like they can just send a FAX back to the number they received it from and that's like dropping a note in the middle of my doctor's office. But that's not what fucking happens! It's going to their fucking pretend FAX server, and its just creating an email in an inbox for some person whose job is NOT to send forms. The person monitoring that inbox is receiving forms. They can't do anything with your note asking for a whatever the fuck.
So whose fault is it? My doctor's? The GTI specialist? Whose job is it to follow up and make sure the actual shit gets done so I can get an actual appointment? Oh it's actually no one's fault and no one's job, it's just my job as a patient, to call every single medical office that I'm dealing with every god damned day and check in with them to poke and prod someone to actually do whatever the fuck needs to be done, which I don't have any of the fucking details for! I don't know what the form is called! I even asked the stupid girl at the GTI specialist what the form is called, and she said "oh don't worry they'll know which one", okay thanks Stacey that really helps me with nailing down some concrete details to try and hold someone else's hand to get them to do their job.

My edition is a facsimile and the depicted 'house' is the birthplace of Sibylla Schwarz, an architectonical victim of real estate speculation, a sad ruin. Give me the permission and I will renovate the whole building!
