Staging concept: Ophelia carries around a book that she uses to press different flowers and plants. At one point we see her actually pressing one of the flowers Hamlet's given her before, and we get the impression that she wouldn't part with this book for the world. During the "Get thee to a nunnery" scene, Hamlet rips the book out of her hands, and she goes diving after it to make sure he didn't damage it. And during her final "mad scene", she starts tearing out the relevant pages (rosemary, pansies, fennel, columbines, etc.) to give to everyone present. Laertes is the only one to get the significance of his sister giving away parts of her prized possession, and it adds an extra layer to his grief.

#Some extra foreshadowing and a way to organically work in the book she's given in Act 3 Scene 1... #Listen I have a lot of feelings about how to stage Ophelia's final scene--for me it needs to be about *her*grief first and foremost. #It's so grossly easy to play it voyeuristically but this is a young woman who's been let down by everyone she thought she could trust #and now she's come to her lowest point where nothing feels like it matters anymore. #And that needs to hit the other characters present like a truck--they could have done something to actually *help* her #instead of using her for their own agendas but they didn't. #And for Laertes especially... that's his baby sister and he wasn't there for her and now he's watching her destroy something she loves. #Maybe he tries to give her the page back but she pushes it at him and there's a moment of agonizing eye contact between them #where he knows she still loves him but she's never felt so betrayed by everyone and there's nothing he can do to make it right. #hamlet #ophelia #shakespeare #the schemer speaks

Been a while since i updated yall on my minecraft world, so heres the greenhouse i designed last night that im planning on building to house my bamboo and the allay i nabbed last week or so :] the smaller section is for an attached bee farm

This design is actually 100% mine!!! This is the first time i havent used a tutorial as the base of a build, and while it still needs a few tweaks and extra decorations, for a first pass im pretty damn happy with it. I did use a site to help me with the dome shape, it's called plotz and it was extremely helpful especially while using the 2D model :]

I have a problem with 90% of the fests I see advertised with prompting. I love the idea of sharing plot bunnies or creative ideas. I don't like it when the prompt forms have a dozen fields outside of the prompt that further specifies anything. Ship, rating, characters, triggers, etc. A prompt in a standard fest is NOT a request for a gift. The writer is not obligated to write you a story. If you as a prompter have a list of requirements for the prompt, then you are not offering a prompt. You are saying, writer you must write me this exact story. I do not understand how that is seen as the norm in fandom right now instead of rude and limiting?

As long as you don't gift the story to the prompter, you are under NO OBLIGATION to follow any of those superfluous prompt fields. It's a prompt. A starting point for inspiration.

I cannot count how many fest prompts I've read through, found a prompt that sang to my muse and started crafting an idea only to then read 'Do Not Write: age gap relationship. Or only X or Y characters' . Who is this prompter to tell me what stories I am allowed to create? That is not how a prompt works! That is how a gift request works. Stop putting me in a fucking box.

#for the love of whatever deity you subscribe to these fest organizers need to learn the difference between a prompt fest and a gift fest #and not be conflating the two #because if I were to write the story that the prompt inspired me to write and that didn't follow the “extra requirements”... #... I would get labeled like a jerk for my participation which wouldn't be fair to any creator to be punished for their act of creation #if you are so dang bent out of shape that the prompt has to be used for wolfstar then write the dang thing yourself #prompts must be freely given #you do not retain any control of the final product by supplying a prompt #this is probably part of why authors refuse any prompts from fans #fandom discourse #fest discourse #prompting discourse #this whole thing makes me rage and Ive dropped out of fests before even officially joining the fest #e is for echo #A PROMPT IS NOT A GIFT #you are not entitled to the creators output #and you are not entitled to a writer creating a story to your preferences unless its specifically a gift exchange

as of the time this post goes up, rooster teeth's extra life stream will start in three days on the 12th (holy shit, already?!) at 10 am central time. given [gestures vaguely] everything that's come to light about rooster teeth in the past, a lot of people will understandably not want to watch the stream this year, or every year they do it in the future going forward.

if you're someone who donates money to extra life through rt and/or buys the limited-time merch, it's good to know that if you want to, you can instead just donate directly to children's miracle network hospitals without associating your donation with any specific individual or group, rooster teeth included.

if you do want to donate to extra life through a participant that isn't rt, the extra life website also has a search index, so if you have at least one person/small group/company/whoever in mind you'd rather donate to, you can just look them up there!

and of course, donating to your local hospital or charity at any time of year is 100% another valid way to donate your money. rules and requirements for donations vary between organizations, so before doing anything else, do some research and check for verified and reputable locations, both online and in real life :)

Had a very funny thought in my head of bill successfully getting a cult started at some point between reincarnations just bc he’s bored. By coincidence dipper gets reincarnated into a kid who grows up in said cult and bein all culty n stuff. When it’s finally time for bill to pick up his human he’s low key annoyed that dippin dorks all culty. Problem is immediately fixed when dipper remembers everything and goes back to normal.

The experience becomes a very funny story at dinner parties where dipper cringes and bill thinks it was a wacky time. I imagine the cult gets broken up by dipper bc i want to give them a happy ending too.

Oh boy, poor, poor Bill. It's one thing for Dipper to pretend to be subservient - that's all fun and games, not real. But a version of Dipper where he's actually, sincerely, bowing and kneeling before Bill? That gets a full on 😬 Sure, he likes weird! This is certainly that!

But it's like. The flipped version of Dipper watching Bill cheerfully working at a soup kitchen, or tenderly nursing a baby bunny back to health or something. Not what he should be doing. Bad. Just so wrong. Man, he's gonna be glad when his feisty little guy gets his brains back

Also contains: One confused Dipper, whose 'god' is actually really... annoying?? And for some weird reason, it seems to make said 'god' happy when he finally gets fed up enough to be bitchy about it.
