A fic I wrote well over 9 years ago that I had posted on Asainfanfics and I thought it deserved to live on Tumbler as well. I think of this fic often.

The Fight

Life for the past two years with Chanyeol has been amazing... mostly. For the last three months he's been distant acting as if he wanted to be anywhere but with you, and when you two were together he would hardly talk and always be on his phone. There were times where he would be on his phone and receive a text message and smile. It was the same smile that he used to give me when we first started a relationship. Seeing as he was part of EXO you knew that he would be around other idols especially female idols and they were a lot prettier than you am. You've spoken to the other members about it and they always that it was you texting him because he would smile at text messages around him too during the times that I was in class. Today you decided to forget about the last few months and spend time with him just the two of us. The members made sure that they didn't have a schedule today so he had no excuses not to spend the day with me.

We went to walk along the Han River and ate lunch at a small little restaurant nearby. We went back to my apartment to spend the rest of the day watching movies before you made dinner. While we were watching movies he kept texting someone and when you asked who it was he said it was no one important. But what bothered me was that he would smile a bright smile while reading a text message and after replying he would have a bored expression. You knew you shouldn’t jump to conclusions but you knew deep inside that he was talking to another girl. It wasn’t impossible because he was an amazing guy and he was handsome there was no doubt he could find someone better. Even though we had been together for so long you still feel insecure. Around 5 o’clock you told him that you were going to make dinner and he could take a nap in the room if he wants but he just nodded his head and walked off.

You couldn’t help but let a deep sigh escape your lips as you head into the kitchen. As you took out the ingredients to make tonkatsu you decided to take out your phone to listen to music as you cooked. You put the shredded cabbage into the bowl of ice cold water while you started to cut the pork. As you were cutting the pork you accidently cut your finger. You had called out for Chanyeol twice but you didn’t get an answer. Finally realizing he wasn’t going to come out and help you, you walked to your bedroom so you can get the first aid kit from your bathroom. When you walked in you saw him talking on the phone with someone and he had the brightest smile on his face. He face changed from the bright smile to a look of worry when he saw you walk in with a towel covering your bloody finger. He told whoever it was on the phone that he needed to go and hung up without waiting for an answer.

“________-ah what happened?” he asked as he got off the bed to come towards the bathroom. But you didn’t even want to hear anything from him. Because when you were calling for him he was having a happy conversation with someone else.

“Nothing. I’m just going to clean this up and go get us dinner, but if you have something else to attend to go ahead and leave.” you said as you finished putting a Band-Aid around your cut finger. You cleaned up the mess that you made and put the first aid kit back in the cabinet. You walked past him and out of the bathroom and headed back to the kitchen to put everything away.

Before you made it to the kitchen Chanyeol caught up with you and held your arm to stop you from walking. He turned you around to look at you with a look of worry in his eyes.

“_______-ah, what is wrong? I’m sorry for whatever I did but can you please explain to me what’s wrong. I’m going crazy not knowing what I did.” He looked at you in the eye with a confused expression. Not knowing what he did wrong. You felt a little guilty but you didn’t let it show. You kept a black expression while looking at him.

“What’s wrong? Let’s start with who you’re always texting. Who makes you smile the way you that you used to smile at me, a smile that I can’t even see when you’re with me? Oh, I know how about the fact that every time we’re together you always look like you would rather be anywhere but with me. Or how your members ask me if we’re still together because you always smile at text messages and calls you receive when I’m supposed to be in class. You decide.” you said with no emotion in my voice or on my face. You never thought that saying those words out loud could break my heart so much. But what broke my heart even more was the look of guilt on his face. Right then you knew that my conclusion had been right. He had been talking to some other girl.

“Look I know what you’re thinking but it doesn’t mean anything. She’s a really old family friend that moved to America about 6 years ago and finally moved back. My mom wanted me to talk to her and help her with the transition from moving back. She brings back old memories from my childhood and high school. I’m sorry I never mentioned it to you but I thought you trusted me enough to not doubt my love for you.” He said getting angry as he stopped speaking. He knew you were insecure and it didn’t help when he didn’t tell me that he had to help an old family friend that was a girl.

“Do you think I want to doubt you?! Do you think I want to be insecure about myself? I don’t want to feel like you’ll get tired of me and find someone else. I never wanted to doubt how you felt about me. But what do you want me to do when all of a sudden you never made time for me? When you never smiled at me the way you do when you speak to her. When your members ask me if our relationships okay. What did you want me to do? Act like I didn’t notice anything. Act like I wasn’t insecure about myself. I’m sorry that I’m not the girl you believed you were in a relationship with for the past 2 years. I didn’t mean to deceive you even though you knew I was insecure about myself.” You were holding tears by the time you finished speaking. You let out a shuddering breath before you looked away and to the door.

“I’m going to go buy myself dinner. It’s probably time you go back to your dorm. The boys told me yesterday you had a photo shoot early in the morning. Lock the door when you leave.” You walked to the door and put on your shoes before grabbing your keys. You ran down the stairs and headed to the park that a few blocks away to let yourself think without having him there. You found a bench and sat there alone finally allowing the tears that had been collecting stream down your face. You couldn’t believe that he told you that you didn’t trust him. But that wasn’t the case. You didn’t trust her. You didn’t believe that you were good enough to be with someone as great as him.

You sat there alone for about 10 minutes before you heard the voiced that caused your tears calling for you. You didn’t want to face him and let him see that he caused your tears. You just sat there ignoring the worried calls from the man that you loved. As his voice grew closer you felt the tears continue to stream down your face with no intention to hide them.

“______-ah!” you heard him shout as he finally found you. You heard his hurried footsteps come closer to you before he pulled you to your feet and embraced you in a tight hug. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I was a jerk and I didn’t mean to make you feel the way you did. You are the most important person in my life. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without you. I would’ve never been able to deal with Kris leaving if you hadn’t have been here to take my mind off of it. You remind me every day that even though I’m an idol, I’m a human too. You remind me what it means to love and to be able to care for someone. You give me a reason to keep going and you give me a reason to do my best to make you proud. I love you so much and I took advantage of that. Please don’t cry anymore. It hurts me knowing that I’m the reason you’re crying. I promise to never make you cry again. I love you I’m so sorry.” He rushed everything he had to say because he was worried that I would walk away at any moment. Hearing everything he had to say you knew that he was being sincere even though you couldn’t find the courage to look at him you could hear in his voice the love and the pain from seeing you cry.

You finally found the courage to look at him when you noticed a tear fall from his eye. Right then you knew that you forgave him. You lifted your hand to his cheek and wiped away the tear that fell. He raised his hand to yours that was placed on his cheek and held it there as he leaned into your touch. “I love you.” The only words that could leave your lips as you looked at the man that was your life.

“Never run from me again. I was worried that something happened to you or worse that you left me and you won’t come back. I can’t live without you so please don’t leave me again. I love you.” He whispered in your ear as his held you close in his arms.
