I just had this a idea for almost a whole  year and it about a young teen female Reader who have a father figure or mother figure from the pirate they like the most but~~ I want them to be the older version from the future like when they are at the age of 40 or 60 . ( Strawhat pirates & white beard pirates & kid pirates) 

And if you don't write about the whitebeard pirate's it okay .instead of it I would like it to be the heart pirates 😊♡.

Well yes I write for whitebeard and as a bonus you will have all four crews, ty!! ;)

─ You're like the baby of the crew, no matter how strong or smart you are, for them it's like a duty to keep you safe even though you don't need it.

─ Luffy, Chopper and Usopp are your best allies when you get bored and want to play or play a joke on others, although they are not so young for their usual games they can always make a small exception for you.

─ As for family roles… Sanji was like a father to you, he was the most attentive to everything, he controlled that you had a balanced diet, that you hydrated, and he made sure that nothing and nobody could bother you or harm you, physically or mentally.

─ This cook already has an age and a past that makes him want to protect every possible child, and despite the fact that you were not a child, in his eyes it still seemed that you were 5 years old and not 13.

─ You called him 'dad' once by accident and he cried after you left the room.

─ Sometimes he just walks into your room to tell you something random "did you know that swordfish can swim up to 100 km/h? They are great hunters" and leaves without saying anything else, he doesn't even wait for you to answer, "Close the door!" of course he never closes the door after that.

─ You spend a lot of time in the kitchen and he teaches you to make your favorite dishes.

─ Despite being forty years old, the fights with Zoro won't stop, and he always puts you in the middle to give him support, "yellow looks much better" "green is better, it doesn't look like piss" "Of course not, honey, what do you think about this? ─ Now… if you're looking for who won to be your mother figure, the award went to Nami, despite not being as young as before and having lived more adventures, she will never stop being like a scared cat and tends to separate you from danger when she sees it.

─ She earned most of your affection pretty quickly.

─ Typical mother who makes you save as much as possible, she'll lend you her old clothes if still in good condition, "this shirt suits you better than it did when I was your age, you'll be a beautiful girl when you grow up!"

─ Although she doesn't mind pampering you a bit if she wants, it's practically difficult for her to deny you something if you really want it, overall, she can always put others in debt to get more money.

─ Lots of relaxing baths with her and Robin, you like to gossip about everything you see when you stay on an island for a while.

─ Whenever you're in a bad mood, the crew jokes that Law has infected you with his continual sulking disease, and that now you are like father and daughter.

─ Law is a proud dad inside of him, he won't show that he is proud of you out loud, but in his mind he has you as someone smarter than half the crew.

─ He will teach you everything he knows about medicine, unless you don't like it or are too squeamish about operating or dissecting, however you are required to learn everything about basic first aid.

─ Ikkaku is the only woman on the whole ship so she was the mother figure who helped you not go crazy among so many men and an adorable bear.

─ You're always welcome in the kitchen to help or observe, but mostly to gossip, sometimes Bepo joins.

─ She has small details with you, like buying some matching pendants or bracelets, she also likes to comb your hair with different styles, definitely your personal hairdresser.

─ Unlike Law, Ikkaku will always let you know that she's proud of you for any little thing, like if you've only managed to take down a few guys on your own without help and will yell in mid-battle "Well done, that's my girl!"

─ God bless you with this crew because you will not have a day off, just because they have aged doesn't mean that they are not as chaotic as before.

─ Although they will respect you, you are not in this crew for nothing, and also, all these guys are afraid of an angry teenager with little hours of sleep. "Dude, shut the fuck up if you don't want me to insert this knife as a new piercing in your forehead" "Yo… ok, chill kiddo"

─ The closest thing to a mother figure that you found was Heat, because he was the one who acted the most like a mother hen with you, apparently he was the most concerned about your physical integrity because he was at that age of wanting children and you were the closest to that.

─ It's not like he was depriving you of potentially lethal weapons for a teenager, but he was more afraid of what people would do with someone young like you.

─ Because being in this crew most of the time means fighting and going to clubs, so yeah, he always had an eye on you just in case some nasty person tried something weird with you.

─ Wire always took care to relax Heat when you'd rather just walk around the village than be in a bar because you weren't much of a fan of drinking alcohol at your age. "What if she gets kidnapped? She can be there all alone being scared" "She literally dismembered a guy last time we fought, she'll be fine."

─ Wire is the cool uncle who lets you do whatever you want as long as your worried mom doesn't find out.

─ And if we talk about a father figure… Killer, Killer acted like a responsible father most of the time, not as worried as Heat but always watching over you and above all that you didn't let yourself be influenced by some of Kid's stupidity.

─ Because Kid was like your demon on your shoulder, despite already being of an age, this man wouldn't stop being impulsive and you're an easy-to-influence teenager, so you and Kid have a sibling relationship.

─ Killer just watches the two of you while he looks disapprovingly, you can't even see his face and you already know that he is disappointed with your decisions. "You guys broke what? oh okay." a lot of passive-aggressiveness whenever he scolds you.

─ But he will always scold Kid more because he is of legal age and should be responsible, he definitely doesn't leave you alone with him because the last time you ended up drunk.

─ And despite not being of many words, he's like the presence you need by your side at certain times, someone you can turn to if something bothers you and that you know that he will be there for you.

─ Overprotective squad in general.

─ Everyone sees Whitebeard as a father, however in your eyes he is like your grandfather, because Marco had earned the position of father figure.

─ This man wanted to establish a life a few years ago, start a family etc, then one day you just arrived and he decided to take you under his wing, literally.

─ He is the least worried if you compare him with the men of the other crews, he knows that he has many people who protect you by his side, so he is calm in that aspect.

─ He will still scold you for your bad habits. "Eat slower you'll choke if you keep eating like a turkey" "Don't you have a nest to make or something? I know how to eat, I'm not Ace" "Hey!"

─ Ace may have matured a lot more but he'll still be a bad influence on you, so Marco always asks Izo to keep an eye on both of you, because the last time he left you two alone you ended up in the stomach of a sea king.

─ His chest will swell with pride if you call him 'dad' in front of people.

─ He's the kind of dad who tells all the shits that have happened to you and he embarrasses you in front of the crew just because he wanted to tell a funny anecdote about you, although he later apologizes to you if he really upset you.

─ As for a mother figure, this crew is short of such things, but the closest thing was Izo, because without a doubt, within this crew full of testosterone, he was much more elegant and careful than the others.

─ And more than anything because you could steal his makeup to use it, although you didn't know how to apply many of the things he had, he helped you with that. "Honey you're spreading the makeup wrong" "Can you teach me Izo?"

─ He taught you a lot about self defense in case someone bothers you more than necessary, like using guns, you should know how to protect yourself just in case.

─ Proud mom watching you kick ass.

OMG all the new boys are fascinating but ummm Swapfell Fruition especially?? Sounds so good?? I would love a full lore dump on this concept, I love the idea of Vi playing the long con to get rid of Gaster and it all sounds so good. Incidentally I need to read Dirty Laundry again lol, everything you make with regards to any version of Swapfell is just *chef's kiss*

Swapfell Fruition

A young Sans’ attempt to kill his creator, the Royal Scientist is a failure.

Gaster survives the scuffle that would’ve toppled him off of the CORE’s scaffolding and gains the upper hand, subduing his traitorous creation and forcing him—and the younger one he’d been trying to escape with—back to his labs.

Sans was reckless, tipped his hand too soon and without the luck to have succeeded on the first attempt, Gaster learns that he is a sneaky little backstabber, capable of appearing obedient but hiding ruthless intentions.

He's almost proud… but of course he can't have that.

It becomes clear to the Royal Scientist that obviously, he needs his creations to have some kind of failsafe. The little one hasn't shown any signs of disobedience yet, but his primary caretaker is a crafty little snake, no telling what he could influence him to do, if given the time or the chance—so it’s back to the drawing board, to the operating table with them both.

Papyrus, at his age, doesn't really know what happens to him, only that whatever was done to him hurt, a lot. He wakes up after in the room he’d shared with his brother, scared and hurting and alone, and when Sans finally reappears, he goes to him for a hug.

Except…

Sans doesn’t hug him back.

He doesn’t hug back, and he doesn’t say anything, no matter how much Papyrus begs him to…

And the next time Gaster summons them to the lab, it’s Sans who picks him up and keeps him from squirming away, holding his arm out for Gaster’s needles.

Papyrus doesn’t understand the betrayal, at the time or in the years that follow.

His hurt turns to bitterness and resentment as his once gentle and protective big brother starts to actively help their creator change him, gradually shaping him into a stronger, more efficient killer.

But even with all the modification and training he’s subjected to, Papyrus isn’t quite the solider or war machine Gaster had planned he would be—he spooks when caught by surprise, he’s easily distracted by irrelevant things, his loyalties twist and sway far too easily for Gaster’s liking…

Well, the Royal Scientist is nothing if not resourceful, certainly able to work with…limited materials and still produce something of use.

With the right mental conditioning, and the right handler to make use of it, Papyrus will still be a valuable asset for the Empress.

After all, there’s always political enemies to the crown that her highness would surely prefer to have…removed, discreetly, and other such dirty work best done in the shadows.

Fast and stealthy, like an assassin, seems more suited to Papyrus’ abilities anyway.

And as for a handler, who better than Sans to fill the role?

Gaster’s prototype was largely a failure, but certainly intelligent and organized, presumably capable of researching and observing targets, briefing the asset on situations and targets and memorizing the trigger words and phrases necessary to keep him operating at peak efficiency.

Sans doesn’t protest.

He doesn’t protest much of anything anymore, not since…

………

Well, it’s not like he’s ever spoken about what happened when everything changed, not even to Papyrus, so when he goes along with this too, neither Gaster nor Papyrus expects otherwise.

So, that’s how it is.

Papyrus becomes the perfect assassin and Sans doles out his marching orders, occasionally following behind on missions to jerk his leash and keep him on track.

Between them, it’s…complicated.

Sans is still Papyrus’ brother, the closest thing to an ally that Papyrus has, both of them stuck in service to a power-hungry, unethical prick.

There are moments where they’re okay, times where a joke will slip out and one of them will laugh, injuries tended to, backs watched under fire, and dozens more little things that just wouldn’t happen if they were nothing to each other.

But the moments never last long.

Reality always comes back in sooner or later—usually in the form of Gaster, demanding an update or issuing new orders or calling them back from the field, to which Sans always, always complies.

Papyrus takes it as a reminder of where Sans’ real loyalties must lie.

He’s some kind of brother, not always awful, and maybe he does care about Papyrus, a little bit, but he answers to Gaster above anything or anyone else, apparently by choice.

He can’t be trusted, not really.

And Sans…

Sans stays quiet and does his job.

Quickly, efficiently, and to the letter—exemplary service, always.

Irreproachable.

He’s almost completely beneath suspicion by the time the last human falls into the Underground.

Gaster couldn’t be more thrilled.

This is a golden opportunity, the perfect chance to prove his worth to the Empress and earn clout and accolades innumerable—to be the one responsible for capturing the seventh soul and freeing all of monsterkind from their centuries of imprisonment and allowing the war against humanity to finally begin!

Well, technically, it would be his creations doing it, but it’s his name that history will remember, him who would rise into legend as the most brilliant and ruthless monster to ever live, the catalyst in humanity’s downfall.

He doesn’t waste so much as a minute before summoning Sans and ordering him to handle it, immediately.

Meet with the Empress, alert her that there’s a human loose in the Underground, and offer her the services of the asset in ending their free roam.

Sans agrees, as he always has, and goes to fetch his brother for the job.

Papyrus is admittedly a little blindsided when not two seconds out of the labs, Sans pulls him aside, out of range of known cameras and recording devices and hisses at him to listen.

He doesn’t know what to make of what Sans says after, either—that he hasn’t earned it and he knows that, but he needs Papyrus to trust him right now, because he is going to lie and everything depends on Papyrus going along with it.

In spite of their messy history and every uncharitable thing Papyrus has ever thought about Sans…right here and now, something in his gut tells him this is no trick.

He agrees to ‘go along with it’…whatever ‘it’ is.

Sans waits until a certain amount of time has elapsed, and then he makes a call to Gaster with Papyrus present to listen.

Gaster is informed that there’s a problem with the latest target. The asset’s programming isn’t taking and he’s refusing to track down the human.

This is, of course, news to Papyrus, who hasn’t been assigned his target yet.

But…Sans said ‘trust me’ and ‘play along,’ so that’s what he does, complaining that he doesn’t want to kill a child, just put him back in his cage and do your own dirty work, old man…

Helpfully—always helpful, always intelligent, always reliable—Sans postulates a conflict of orders might be causing the programming to bug like this. Gaster’s overarching orders are for the asset to kill targets assigned to him, but the Empress has unfortunately countermanded that the human must be brought to her alive.

And again, Papyrus knows differently because the Empress hasn’t given him any orders, they never made it to her for orders to be given and Toriel likely doesn’t even know yet that a human has fallen.

But he said he’d go along with the lie so he keeps his mouth shut, even as he hears Gaster curse on the other end of the line.

Gaster finds Sans’ assessment of the situation as reasonable as it is frustrating, but minds are complicated machines and often behave strangely when conflicts arise. Just look at the Empress, who knows that humans must be killed to free her people, but feels she must perform the act herself instead of the far more convenient option being presented to her!

The asset’s orders being in conflict is a far more annoying stopping block, though, yet another barrier in the way of all the glory that Gaster has so painstakingly earned.

Time is short, stakes are high, he refuses to recall his creation just to debug it and resolve the glitch, not now.

Instead he makes his fatal mistake.

He overrides the asset’s failsafes.

All of them.

Impatiently rattling off a code that nearly makes Papyrus stagger from a feeling like weight being lifted, Gaster disconnects the call with a sharp command to Sans to ‘handle it,’ now that there were no restrictions on his targets or what he could be ordered to do.

Sans is only quiet for a moment before handing a picture to Papyrus, locking him on and beginning the usual debrief.

Papyrus can’t fully grasp what he’s looking at, not at first.

“………confirm target?”

“WINDINGS GASTER, THE CURRENT ROYAL SCIENTIST TO THE CROWN.”

As with any briefing, Papyrus must be informed of his target’s connections, abilities and assets.

Gaster has strong ties with the crown, and between that and his own paranoia, security around him will be tight. He’s intelligent, strong, and merciless, and he won’t hesitate to make use of anything at his disposal in a life-or-death situation.

As an example, he had implanted a condition into his private assassin’s mental programming that would prevent him from acting against or outright attacking him—so it’s fortunate they’ve already cleared that concern.

Now, the top priorities are to ensure that Sans is physically far away from Gaster when the mission is executed, and that Papyrus is at no point seen by Gaster before he’s dead. The entire operation could be sunk if both of these conditions aren’t met.

“why?”

“THERE’S AN ADDITIONAL FAILSAFE, IMPLANTED IN YOUR SOUL. IF GASTER REALIZES YOU’VE BEEN TURNED ON HIM BEFORE YOU’VE SUCCEEDED, HE CAN INSTANTLY DROP YOUR HP TO 1.”

“………and why am i doing this without my handler?”

“BECAUSE I’M COMPROMISED TOO. IF HE SEES ME OUT OF PLACE OR SUSPECTS I’VE BETRAYED HIM AGAIN, HE’LL USE THE FAILSAFE IN MY SOUL TO REMOTELY CONTROL MY BODY AND MOBILIZE ME AGAINST YOU—AND OF COURSE, AT THAT POINT, HE WOULD KNOW THAT YOU’RE TARGETING HIM AS WELL AND BE PREPARED TO KILL YOU.”

And that…

Well.

That sure is a hell of a lot of new information that Papyrus will have to process later, when there’s not a strong compulsion in the back of his skull that there is someone he needs to kill.

He’s a professional, when he’s working.

He will focus on the mission.

To keep up appearances, Sans departs to find the fallen human and trail them on their journey through the Underground. He very much wants to ensure they reach the Empress safely, but there’s an added bonus of being exactly where he’s supposed to be and doing exactly what he’s supposed to do should Gaster check in on him—no need to arouse any suspicion, not before it’s far too late.

In the end, when Chara has befriended monsterkind against all odds, winning over the Empress herself and freeing them all to a life of peace with humankind on the surface, the death of the Royal Scientist is an incidental discovery.

Sans takes responsibility for it, pleading for the Empress’s mercy.

Gaster had wanted the human—kind young Chara, to whom Toriel has taken such a liking—killed immediately as soon as they emerged from the Ruins, and he hadn’t thought that the Empress would condone such an order in light of what she’s always held to regarding fallen humans.

Gaster had been adamant, though, and Sans… Well, he only wanted to serve the will of her highness and to do so, he turned the asset against their master. He hopes only for some leniency for what he’s done, Gaster may have been their father but—

Strangely enough, it seems Toriel had no idea that the asset and his handler were the Royal Scientist’s children. He’d always told her they were employees, volunteers for the things that were done to them and the missions they were told to undertake.

Learning that they had actually been created, intentionally molded and pressed into these roles without a choice in the matter…

Toriel, an Empress first but a mother a very close second, can certainly afford leniency.

The brothers are let loose in spite of their crime, with a bit of funding from the Empress to get on their feet after everything. The money is partially back-pay for their joint service as the crown’s black ops division (for which they were never actually compensated before), and partially amends for how long their…circumstance…went unnoticed.

Sans offers to split the money and part ways with Papyrus, if he’d prefer.

But Papyrus has learned a lot in the past few days to…completely and utterly recontextualize everything he ever thought was true about his handl—…his brother, and…maybe he should stick around a bit. See what’s what.

Vi (Swapfell Fruition Sans)

Extremely restrained and closed off from so many years of being unable to talk to or trust anyone, not even his brother. An accomplished liar but socially unpracticed, tending to read as cold and unfriendly to those who approach him. He’s more awkward than genuinely hostile, though

Issues with being watched, spent most of his life simultaneously going unnoticed and being intensely over-monitored so his feelings about being observed—regardless of context—are complicated, runs hot and cold on it

Complicated feelings for his brother, too: he loves him, of course, and he failed him in many ways, but he was also stuck between him and Gaster for a long time and caught his fair share of hell from both sides and there’s some resentment there for that. He wants to fix things, but he’s not really sure how and just…awkwardly trying his best

Well-organized and skilled at research and thinking analytically, tends to approach most things with a problem-solving attitude and an eye-socket for detail. Extremely talented at finding loopholes and ways around or through the rules—though his respect for said rules is very low to begin with

Likes high and secluded places, mostly rooftops but anywhere it could be difficult for other people to get to. Whether or not those places are restricted by fencing or padlocks or lack of ladders is immaterial, if he finds a high spot he would like to be, he will get to it one way or another and perch as long as he pleases

Hunter (Swapfell Fruition Papyrus)

Impulsive and driven by self-interest, the years of mental conditioning have broken down his fears and inhibitions to nearly nothing. He does what he wants, when he wants, with little concern for anything else—a dog off its leash who’ll only heel when it’s good and ready to. Unfortunately charming enough to mostly get away with it

Problems with authority, for obvious reasons. Likely to try to bend or break any rule presented to him, just to see if he can, and a severe lack of respect for anyone trying to enforce those rules upon him (especially the arbitrary ones)

Conflicting and highly jumbled feelings for his brother, making them a matched set: he disliked him, maybe even hated him a little for a long time, for helping Gaster turn him into what he is and for being the one to yank his leash and pull his strings…but that was before he knew that he had a kill-switch in his soul and that his brother was up on strings on his own, being pulled by the jackass they both apparently hated… It doesn’t erase everything that happened, knowing that, but it does…change things. (He wants to fix things too, but he’s not sure how either, so they’re both just awkwardly trying)

Needs ‘tune-ups’ every so often to reinforce his mental conditioning and make sure all his programming is intact, even now that Gaster’s gone and he’s retired as an assassin. Going too long without re-upping it causes deterioration, compulsions ‘leaking’ without being triggered and causing headaches and erratic, sometimes violent behavior so…best for everyone to keep his head maintained regularly

Absolutely loves nature and wilderness, hiking, camping, and climbing trees is his idea of an excellent time. Could absolutely go off on a run and disappear into the trees and not be seen or heard from for a week, likely to get some forest-cryptid lore started about him—possibly on purpose

Next up, Joel! Now, like Jack, I feel we need a bit of clarification here. Joel goes through some shit in his life, which undoubtably would change how he’d view valentine’s day. The man who lived before the outbreak is a far cry from who we see in the events of TLOU, twenty years after the world ended. As such, any traditions he used to have before the outbreak would likely be vastly different to life after.

So, how does Valentine's day look like for Mr. Miller in Jackson? Let's see, shall we?

Joel had never imagined he’d celebrate another valentines again. When the world ended, and Sarah died with it, for so long there wasn’t a single bright day in his life. The first five years of the outbreak went by in a bit of a blur, the rage and anger towards the world taking over and clouding his vision.

When the smoke eventually started to clear, dating was still not something Joel had thought about. He’d had the occasional hook-up here and there within the QZ, but nothing substantial. Not until Tess, anyway.

But with Tess dead, left behind as a sacrifice to get Joel on the road with Ellie, that loneliness had seeped back in. Travelling cross-country with a girl you consider your own kin, fighting off raiders and infected, hardly gave him much time to dwell on this state of being, though. It wasn’t until the two of them found safety in Jackson that Joel relaxed enough to think about it.

A year after settling into town, he met you. Jackson grew with each passing month, and slowly but surely the town was becoming the size of a small city. The commune still worked well though, but the expanse did make it so that it was no longer a small community where everyone knew everybody.

You’d arrived with a small group a couple of months ago, and had quickly settled in across town from Joel. Maria and Tommy had put you in charge of working in the stables, your experience with animals coming in handy in an area that relied so heavily on going out hunting on horseback and handling livestock. It was one afternoon where Joel was to accompany Tommy on patrol outside the gate, and in need of a horse, that he met you.

He’d been enamoured with you immediately, and almost to the point where it surprised him just how quickly you had seeped into his mind. The way you smiled, your laugh, and how gentle your demeanour was. Joel had plenty of experience with horses by now, having used one to travel most the way to Jackson from Boston, so he knew the kind of approach one had to have with animals. The fact it came naturally to you set off butterflies in his stomach for the first time in years.

Tommy had, of course, teased his older brother about this crush relentlessly. But deep down, he was happy to see Joel starting to open up. His brother had never been one to be overly emotional, but since the two of them reunited last year, he could tell there had been a huge shift in Joel. No longer did he show much emotion, preferring to just remain a hard outer shell that nobody seemed to be able to penetrate. Nobody except you, that was.

“Why not ask them out?” Tommy asked, “They’re single!”.

“Oh, and do what? It’s the end of the world, Tommy. People don’t…date. Do they?” he’d asked, drawing laughter from his younger brother.

“Joel, how the hell do you think Maria and I got it on?” he said, laughing to himself as the two brothers rode around the perimeter of Jackson. “You gotta drop this whole ‘end of the world’ narrative, Joel. Sure, life ain’t what it was, but you’ve been here a year now. Surely you can see that there can be some kind of normality?”.

He had a point. Jackson had established schools, libraries, shops, and salons, as well as the more “practical” industries like farming and rearing livestock. The town had set itself apart from most post-outbreak settlements in that it did actually function like a proper city. Communism or not, it certainly worked well.

“Alright, you might have a point,” Joel admitted.

“I know I do, brother. Come on, just ask them! I’m fairly sure they’re as smitten with you as you are with them,” Tommy teased, and Joel’s face lit up.

“Really?” he asked, and Tommy nodded.

“So the word on the street says. ‘The word’ being that of Maria, so I’d say that’s pretty trustworthy,” he chuckled. “Promise you’ll ask them when we get back?”.

Joel sighed, but the more he thought about it the giddier he got. It was a feeling he was most unfamiliar with, but the fact he did feel it again was surely something he could take as being a promising sign. He always looked forward to your conversations, and each time he went he yearned for a reason to make them last longer.

“Alright, I promise,” he said. “But you gotta help me out. I haven’t dated in…fuck,” he laughed, “Twenty-five years!”.

The two brothers laughed with one another as they completed the last of their patrol, still chuckling as the gates opened for them both on their return.

“Brother, I think you need all the help you can get then! I tell you what, suggest this. The 14th is in two days – there were plans to show a film in the town hall that evening. Nothing too out there, and keeping it family friendly, but it would be a good ice breaker date?” he suggested.

Joel nodded as the two men headed towards the stables, trying his best to ignore the thudding feeling in his chest where his heart was almost trying to escape from nervousness. Any kind of date felt like a terrifying concept at the moment, but Tommy was right. It would be perfect.

“Alright, you got a deal,” he’d said, and the two of them dismounted the horses as they headed to the stables. Sucking in some air, Joel had prepared exactly what to say to you. Now he just had to do it…

Much to his surprise (and delight), you’d agreed to the date. But really, how could you have said no? You’d been carrying round your crush on the older of the Miller brother’s for a few weeks, but never had the chance to actually speak with him enough to broach the idea of a date. The day Tommy brought him over to the stable felt like all your Christmas’ came at once, and Joel was everything you hoped he would be. Quiet, and definitely reserved; but it was clear that under the hardened shell he built around himself was a kind, sweet man. You just hoped you’d see more of him.

Saying yes to this date was the easiest decision in the world. Now, on the night in question, you’d patiently waited outside the town hall for Joel to arrive. He’d been a little late, but with only so many films to continually have on show here in Jackson, it’s not like you were missing much.

You smiled wide as Joel headed over towards you, a slight skip in his step. He was bundled up in his signature thick brown jacket, the fastenings pulled across his broad chest to fight off the cold snap that had descended around Jackson lately. Snow lay on the ground, littering the streets and coating the tops of houses, and if you had to guess by the appearance of the clouds above there would surely be another downpour of it tonight.

“Hey,” Joel said, greeting you with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye that mirrored your own. It warmed you deep inside to see a man usually so stoic and closed off actually appear happy – and it was made even more sweet by the fact that it was because of you he felt such a way.

“Hi,” you said, “You made it!”.

Joel chuckled, shaking his head slightly.

“Yeah, I’m sorry about bein’ a little late. Ellie needed my help with something before I headed out, and, well- I just can’t say no to that kid,” Joel said.

You chuckled, instinctively moving a little closer to Joel to link your arm around his. You’d seen how he was with Ellie, and had heard the stories of Joel with Sarah before the outbreak. Even though you never knew Sarah, and only really observed him acting parental towards Ellie from afar, it made you happy to see Joel settle into that role of being a parent again. The end of the world had taken so much from so many people – you found you didn’t have to know people intimately to still find comfort in others having some sense of normalcy back. You wished everyone had that chance.

“It’s alright, the film has only just started. Shall we?” you said, and Joel nodded. He reached over and covered your hand that sat on his arm with his, his woollen glove warming your bare fingers. Smiling back, you turned towards the door to the town hall and wandered inside.

The film was only about ten minutes in by the time you entered and sat down. The hall had filled up nicely for the evening, as it usually did on film nights. All the children who lived in Jackson sat up front, intently glued to the screen, and you chuckled to yourself as you remember being exactly the same way back when as a kid. Your parents always fussed about you getting ‘square eyes’ on account of sitting too close to the VCR TV in the lounge, which was always a strange concept to explain to the kids of Jackson. You often wondered what your parents would be most worried about in this modern world now. Often you were glad they didn’t live long enough to even experience the outbreak.

You and Joel snuck in towards the back where there were a few free seats. It was still a little chilly in the hall, in spite of how many people were present, so you opted to keep your coats on for the time being. You’d released your hold on Joel’s arm once you sat down, but the two of you kept your distance close to one another. The little taps of his knee against yours sent little butterflies through you and suddenly you felt like a teenager all over again, sneaking out at night to go watch a film with a guy your mother definitely didn’t approve of.

Throughout the whole time the two of you sat with one another you couldn’t fight the giddiness that surged through you – for so long you’d been alone, just as Joel had. Sure, you’d been surrounded by folk for years; there was always safety in numbers. But having someone to call your own, your partner, your lover…that was still an alien concept. Even if tonight came to nothing, it was nice that you’d taken a step towards living again.

About half an hour through, Joel began to get restless. He was enjoying himself, yes, but he had a newfound urge to sit and get to know you. Not something which could be so easily done during a film, where silence was required. It was a desire he hadn’t had with anyone for so long that he didn’t want to risk chickening out of this, so he opted to take advantage of this.

“Do you wanna go for a walk?” he asked lowly, whispering into your ear. You smiled up at him, nodding. You felt a warmth in the palm of your hand as Joel’s fingers softly interlocked with yours, tightening their grip slightly, and then leading you out the door of the hall.

Once outside, you felt a wave of relief wash over you. As much as you loved the film nights put on in the hall, a huge part of you wanted nothing more than to spend time with just Joel, and to get to know him. As you walked away from the hall, and the first few flakes of snow began to fall across the town, the two of you did just that.

He didn’t think he’d ever asked, or been asked, so many questions in his entire life. But he wasn’t complaining for a second – he hung on every word you said, learning everything there was to about you and your life; where you were born, what you did before the outbreak, and how you came to be here. He found he was also just as receptive to telling you anything you wanted to know, and was spilling his guts about everything as the two of you walked round the town, still hand in hand.

“I was really nervous about asking you out, you know,” Joel eventually admitted. “But you’ve been an absolute treat tonight, darlin’.”

“Nervous? How come?” you asked.

“Well, truth be told, my last proper date was several years before the outbreak began,” he chuckled, “So I’m a bit rusty now, more than two decades later,” he said. You shrugged.

“You don’t seem it, if that’s any consolation. Must just ooze charm naturally,” you teased, squeezing his hand softly. Joel chuckled at your joke, smiling wide.

“Yeah, I ain’t sure about that at all,” he said.

“Well, how about we test it?” you asked, boldly.

“Test it? How?” he said, his brow furrowed.

“Kiss me, Joel,” you said, stopping in your tracks. Joel’s eyes widened, but quickly he softened his expression and smiled at you. Turning to face you, he slipped his other hand to settle on your waist, and kept you close to him.

“Sure?” he asked. You nodded in response, wetting your lips slightly with your tongue as you waited for him to make a move. “Alright,” he drawled, chuckling under his breath, as he leant down.

His lips caught yours and he planted the softest kiss on them you’d ever experienced – not in a way that you didn’t know it was even happening, but rather it was so tender that you could be mistaken for thinking the two of you had already been lovers in a past life. It was like he already knew exactly how to kiss you, his lip gently sucking yours just before he parted from you, your heads still resting together.

“See? Not rusty at all,” you chuckled, a blush spread out on your cheeks, a warmth rushing through you.

“Hey, I never said my kissing was rusty, just my ability to go on a proper date with someone I like,” he said, blushing slightly with you, brushing his nose against yours.

“So you like me then?” you teased.

“Yeah, I do. And I know I ain’t all that much, darlin’. This evening hasn’t been much and, Hell, I’m nearing sixty,” he laughed, “But I really do like you. Been a long time since I felt this way about anyone, too. I’m really hoping we could…we could date,” he said. You nodded, smiling wide up at him.

“I’d like that, Joel. And your age doesn’t bother me, by the way. I’m hardly a spring chicken either,” you chuckled. “My spine enjoys reminding me that I’m in my mid-forties!”.

“Let’s fall apart together, then, at the end of the world,” Joel joked, smiling so wide his eyes creased when he laughed. You smiled at him, joining in with a giggle.

“That sounds like a plan to me”.

The Book of Life to The Second Coming Pipeline

quite a slippery slope

part 1 of this madness as my friend called it

This is kind of a (not so) little blurb before we get back into some bookshop parallels - just gonna sprinkle some little theories in here about a book, some rings, a fly, the bookshop, and a coffee

Yes I know quite a lot to get through so I tried to keep it as short as possible with as much information as I could - and if you have questions, want to add, point out something that derails this entire thing - go for it I’m always open for discussion and so are my messages

So let’s get into it

A Book

Now if you read part one of this I mentioned the Tree of Life but the thing is we don’t get an explicit mention of this in the show

What we do get is the Book of Life

here is a link to probably about every time it is mentioned in the bible

But basically it is a book that holds all the names of people who are allowed into the Holy Land because they have allowed Jesus/Holy Spirit into their lives. Names that are not in the book or have been cross out are thrown into a lake of fire and sulfur

In the show it is

referred to as “extreme sanctions” to cross someone out of the book - it’s the highest punishment

Crowley doesn’t think it’s real and was just a joke they use to threaten the cherubs, or young angels, with before the Fall

the way Michael threatens with it to Aziraphale “you will have never existed, Aziraphale” and the fact they don’t have the clearance to use it

What I’m getting from this is being cross out and doom to the lake of fire and sulfur is essentially death for humans

But for Angels though this just sounds like Falling and they have to loose their Angel name

Like when Crowley said “The angel you knew is not me.” Aziraphale would loose his angel name and subsequently Fall if his name was crossed out.

So let me break down the first part of the timeline for this Book

Before the Beginning - the book is just a joke at this point, something to rib about to the younger Angels. It doesn’t have consequences that any of the angels have faced.

Then the Fall happens - the Angel names of the Demons we know have now been blotted out, they don’t exist anymore. They have now seen the consequences that this book has.

However I don’t think Heaven has this Book anymore or at least can’t access to it change it - they don’t have to ability to make an Angel Fall anymore. So they do the next best thing erase all their memories and demote them.

Some Rings

Now curiously Gabriel and Muriel are the only two angel we see that don’t wear a ring. On every other though angel we do see a personalized ring on their left pinky fingers (with a few exceptions). And let’s remember Gabriel’s purple eyes that he is known for.

So what conclusions can we draw from this?

The rings hold memories of the Fall or that Before era but because the angels are still wearing them they aren’t gone and can probably still access them - think of it kind of like a filtering system.

Gabriel eyes though they indicate that he still has all this information floating around in his, still big enough, head. Muriel though, who still acts very much like a pre-fall angel, has had their memories erased - there is no need for a ring if there is nothing there. A factory reset to a default angel.

A fly

So when Gabriel is threatened with his memory being erase he does the technique that literally every other angel has applied and stored his memories into a fly.

The fly is his version of a ring - I mean regardless if this was planned before or not and he came up with on the spot, he is very sure it is going to work. He knows that getting his memories erased is a bad thing - almost like he’s seen it happen before.

but it’s a fly that is not connected to him therefore no access to said memories

A fly and a body that end up in a bookshop for some reason

The Bookshop

Now as it was pointed out in my last post that Aziraphale was meant to be guarding the Tree of Life - particularly the way to it.

Which so happens to include the Book of Life.

We know Aziraphale runs a bookshop - of all pretty much first editions. He is very proud of his books and doesn’t want anyone buying them - he’s guarding them from humans (projecting perhaps? missing something? it is a collection of human names works)

But why would Gabriel go here? His supposed enemy but is also kind of in the same position he is in - yknow the falling in love with and running off with a demon thing - not that he remembers that - it’s a weird relationship

Funny that for an angel that is getting in trouble for not wanting to go along with the Second Coming he ends up heading right towards it.

The bookshop though is objectively the safest place for an angel to head to while on Earth - it’s the closest thing they have to Eden - it’s still an embassy

But Gabriel needed Aziraphale for something more - to give him something

Giving the angel that is known to like books, even upstairs, the Book of Life to protect it from Heaven - who he has openly opposed - so they can’t start the Final Judgment is actually a pretty smart move.

Especially if he was already meant to be guarding the Tree of Life.

Whether or not the Book actually made it to the bookshop is another thing

A Coffee

The thing is though if Gabriel took the Book of Life out of Heaven I feel like the Metatron would have realized this - even if he kept it to himself

Its the reason he wants Gabriel found discreetly - no alarm bells for missing a key piece of the Final Judgement when it can easily be found by finding the person who took it - can’t have the angels panicking and confused again about another failed Armageddon.

Except Gabriel took it to Aziraphale - who owns a bookshop - He doesn’t need Gabriel or Aziraphale (though maybe he could help with finding Jesus), he needs that goddamn book. He may fully believe that the Book of Life is in the bookshop.

So he used the situation to his advantage to get Aziraphale away from the bookshop - alone and under his control again - and placed another “dim” angel, someone who will follow his orders, in the bookshop to look for the Book of Life. And he ended it with one last question of “if he needed to bring anything with him” trying to see if Aziraphale would just give it up - to no success. But at least everything else went as planned

But please remember these are all just wild speculation and for fun

edit: I’m not particularly happy with the Gabriel coming to the Bookshop with the Book of Life part - it just fit the most when I was writing - so I’m going to come back to this when I get the time

At the risk of sounding egotistical, I just had what strikes me as a relatively small but still pretty poggers, perhaps even galaxy brain rwby idea:

Oscar now being Ruby's one actual pre-existing friend, an underclassmen from Signal, so that there's actually someone she's talking about when she brings up Signal friends early on, and so that we get some idea of who Oscar is and why he matters without Ozpin inside of him.

He hardly even needs to literally show up at first, just have Ruby writing and calling him periodically, especially when she needs advice and wants someone more level-headed than Yang to chime in.

Establishing that even though he's younger than Ruby, Ruby still thinks of him as responsible, down-to-earth, and wise beyond his years, drawing an early comparison between him and Ozpin.

(Especially funny if you don't reveal him beyond his writing for a bit, and Ruby's regard for him builds up an expectation in you that he's her wise senpai, or perhaps some sort of teacher's aide she was on good terms with... And then reveal this person who is apparently so smart and insightful and helpful to her is fucking 13.)

On his end though, this is largely because he just has a big case of Forced To Grow Up Too Fastitis, because he's only lived in Patch since he was 10, before that living in the canonical farm with his aunt AND his actual, still-living parents before an attack not by Grimm, but bandits. (Which then CAUSED a followup Grimm attack due to the commotion, but still.)

Leading to him and his aunt being the only survivors and fleeing to stay with a different relative in Patch. Except his relative lowkey kinda thinks he and his aunt are a burden, and his aunt's grief has made her emotionally unavailable and somewhat neglectful, and so Oscar's new home life.... kinda fuckin sucks tbh!!!!

So now you've got this sullen, grieving boy who doesn't want to deal with other people, wanders off into the woods alone, and nearly becomes Grimm chow (with an uncomfortable implication that this wasn't quite an accident and he sort of had a death wish).

But Ruby happens to be out there because she ALSO likes running off to be alone sometimes (and also sometimes she likes to secretly run experiments with the kinds of weapons tests so risky that neither Signal or her father ever actually approved of them)

So she saves Oscar and his eyes go from dull and lifeless to big and sparkly as he pretty much just kinda. Metaphorically stuffs Ruby (and the whole ideal of Hunting she now represents to him) into the gaping hole in his heart and makes it basically his purpose in life to be like her (his idealized version of her) now. (He is soooo normal and mentally healthy. This is such a normal and mentally healthy thing to do. Please believe him.)

The specific fact that his main tragedy was really caused by bandits is something I did because I also wanted him to develop trust issues (Oh would you look at that, Ozpin parallel again), and also to like. More quickly and strongly establish that bandits are like. A tangible and threatening phenomenon in their world that harms people the viewer actually cares about, rather than just relying on a sudden plot with Weiss being kidnapped for that.

So Oscar kind of has to balance his having seen the worst in people and his underlying misanthropy with "I don't want anyone to suffer like I did" and his desire to be a True Hunter, which in his mind should involve Loving And Protecting Everybody.

And then in v3 he actually like shows up in the present day, having Absolutely Fucking Not been content to watch the Vytal Festival from home if Ruby would Actually Be There

Which is all well and good and Ruby is glad to see him and he seems like kinda just a fun little guy to have around, but then Shit Goes Down and Oscar, full of a Perfect Cocktail of Survivor's Guilt, Hero Complex, and The Need To Impress Senpai, goes "DON'T WORRY. I CAN HELP."

Ruby, eyes going cartoonishly huge and popping out of her skull: DO NOT!!!!

Which he fortunately disobeys, giving him time to show off his own self-made weapon and his fighting style and his other little quirks, and luckily he actually does manage to be decently helpful!

But then he eats shit and gets in trouble so uh. Not yay.

Also not to be an edgelord but I feel like it could be interesting here if Oscar specifically eats shit because of Roman... And then...

It REALLY IS Ruby's fault Roman dies?

Like it is still kind of an accident, he has Oscar in a chokehold and Ruby really just wants him to let go, but he gets cocky, does a villain monologue, lets his guard down, forgets just *how* super Ruby's super speed can really be when you piss her off, and-

She pulls a flawless *teleports behind you* and then, she just swings her scythe as fast as she can in a single-minded adrenaline-and-Semblance-fueled fugue state, and because his guard is down, uh,

OOPS.

So then Ruby and Oscar gotta unpack all this at some point, but NOT NOW, cause Oscar passes out from injury, shock, and exhaustion, and the next time he wakes up, our good ol' Ozzed Pin is in his head now.

Also I like the other edgy idea I have where this Oscar got a Semblance, only for it to turn out that when Ozpin gets into your head, he involuntarily "eats" your Semblance, and/or part of your Aura, to help stabilize and restore his own soul, because dying and transferring hosts is a traumatic process that causes him to accrue spiritual/metaphysical "damage" and "wear" over time. As not every host can offer enough to fully offset the wear, this is another reason why his magic keeps weakening over time.

Basically just to make it more immediately and obviously a serious and uncomfortable conflict to be emotionally invested in. (And to be something to contribute to stoking the fires of a more believable anti-Ozpin uproar from the other characters, who wouldn't immediately know or all initially believe that Ozpin doesn't absorb part of your power on purpose, and literally can't give it back.)

So I have a shit ton of Twst fankids btw! They kinda swim around in my brain but only a few ppl I know have gotten the info dumps lmao

Skye was the first one I made I think (actually it might’ve been Rico (florid) but eh oh well who’s counting)

But yes this is Skye Ashengrotto!

They’re my older Jamiazu kid, I do have two. The younger one is my octo boy Akram :) he’s funny I wanna pinch his cheeks but he’s not the point here

So Skye! It feels weird publically infodumping abt my OCs like wtf am I even supposed to put here

They’re a half mer, which do work a lil different than normal mers in my lore. Half mers can transform without a potion but it’s still a long and generally painful process, esp going from mer to human. I kind of switch between calling them a snake mer and a naga but there’s lore there- Nagas exist in my lore outside of sea snake mers, there are also fully terrestrial Nagas. So the terrestrial nagas wouldn’t be considered snake mers but the sea snake nagas would be a type of mer while also still being a naga ITS CONFUSING DONT ASK (actually do. Ask everything so I can roll more of my fankids out like marbles)

Skye was created by a spell, I haven’t quite worked the details out 😔 but Jamil is part gorgon in my lore which is why they have the hair snakes which isn’t a typical naga trait. And to elaborate on the hair snakes: they are alive, the one w the bigger stripes is Flora and the smaller stripes is Jett. Skye can communicate w them telepathically and their eyes glow which is kinda neat. They’re kind of Skye’s version of floatsam and jetsam (unless u count Rico (florid) and Lilac (treyjade) which is like their ver of the twins- IDK ITS COMPLICATED)

idk what else to put here so LETS THROW SOME FHARACTER DYNAMICS YEAH and also mentioning some of my other fankids! They all have profiles (except my Malleus kid I’m sorry Aihan I can’t think of a design for you) but I’m probably gonna save those for another post-

So jamiazu in my lore live in the Shaftlands in a beachfront place and also live pretty close to Treyjade, however Florid live in the Queendom. The octatrio and their spouses is a close group so they’re essentially a big family. My treyjade kids are Maren (older) and Lilac, then my Florid kids are Rico (older) and the twins Mary and Eliza.

Skye saw Lilac more as a kid cuz they lived so close together but also saw Rico a lot when flrd would visit or they’d go to visit them. Rico is an agent of chaos and Lilac is Skye’s 2nd in command so their dynamic on a surface level is pretty similar to the octatrio, but there’s still a lot of differences once u get into the meat of it. Tho Lilac and Rico are Skye’s best friends and basically like siblings to them.

Outside of jamiazu Skye is particularly close with Jade, they share a love of tea :) he’s their cool but also slightly unsettling uncle

THEN THERES SHENZI- Shenzi is my younger kaliruggie kid and I am not gonna get into her here bcuz she rlly needs her own post w all her trauma but good lord these two do not like each other. Shenzi’s really nice but she’s not quite as nice as Kalim so after about 5 months of trying and failing to befriend Skye in their freshman year she just gave up and now their relationship is nothing but hostile (which was not helped when Shenzi and lilac started dating)

Speaking of that tho- so my idikei kids :) Ember (named after the pokemon attack) is the older one and he’s basically that “Jock idia can’t hurt you he’s not real Jock idia:” thing as a person he has the Fire hair n shit but he plays basketball and is heavily extroverted but no one gives a shit abt Ember this is NOT ABT HIM this is abt his sister! Her name is Zelda because you know Idia would name his daughter Zelda- she got all of Idia’s social anxiety lmao. She’s extremely shy and there’s a total of like 4 people in the school she can actually talk to without melting into a small stain on the floor. She’s an Skye are both in board games club and sometime in early freshman year she falls on her ass and knocks over a bunch of stuff which Skye happens to witness and cue the most awkward interaction known to man bcuz Skye can’t talk to pretty girls and Zelda can’t talk to ANYONE but they end up walking to the mirror hall together afterwards which becomes a routine. Except they’re both awkward as fuck take like almost two fucking years to get together bcuz neither of them are gonna do anything abt it BUT THEYRE VERY CUTE!! I love them

Also my ashengrotto siblings are very wholesome I need to write some stuff w them- Akram is a little shit and he loves pissing Skye off but at the end of the day he admires them and Skye loves their brother a lot :)

- I FORGOT TO MENTION- When Peppino got older, like present Peppino, he got into playing golf, he’s pretty good at it too! He wears the entire set he got the golfer dad hat the golfer dad fit he got everything. I wanna draw him in a golf fit now-

- Peppino’s parents were pretty tame, his Father was a mechanic/chef and his Mom was a stay at home, she was THE SWEETEST person you would ever meet, Pep was definitely a Mama’s boy- His Father was good too, he taught him how to cook and make GREAT pizzas

- After The War Pep was still a bit uneasy but he still kept in touch with his parents, they always told him if they ever needed them they would be there (Now in the present he still talks to them! They’re great ❤️❤️)

- As a kid Peppino was a bit of a rascal, he liked eating a ton of sweets which is why he was a bit bigger than most kids, BUT he could REALLY do a good punch, he was the strongest kid around, if you needed him to do something he’ll do it as long as you pay him 5 cents or give him candy 🤷‍♀️

- But still I think before the war he was still athletic at the least, yeah he was, again, chubby but he could run pretty fast and was really good at punching- He was gonna do football but he ended up doing soccer cuz he loved the sport so much, he was great at it

- As a Teen he was still really talkative but more serious- you get that teen angst once you get older y’know? Yeah that was him, he wasn’t much of a trouble maker but he did stay out late nights and partied a lot, this is also the time he was a big flirt, to girls AND boys 🔥 (“Yeah I like boys too, watcha’ gonna do about it?”)

- I SHOULD ALSO MENTION when he was a kid he met Mr. Stick

- I call Mr. Stick Samual since at the time of picking a name for him I kept meeting people named Samual- It was pretty funny-

- Stick was a pretty shy kid, it was mostly cuz he was bullied a lot and not many kids liked him (except for Peppino, they were good friends)

- Y’know Eustace Bagge from Courage the Cowardly Dog? Remember that episode that showed a younger version of him and he didn’t have any hair? Yeah that’s what I picture Stick to look like as a kid-

- Poor honey was lonely, and unfortunately he had to move away for a short time because his Dad got a new job :(

- Should I mention his parents? His Dad was a big ol’ business man and his Mom was a Doctor, unfortunately his mother was really overprotective and feared for her baby which passed to Stick as a kid and therefore was even more scared, nervous? He was just anxious-

- I think Stick doesn’t talk to his parents much because, one his Mom didn’t even want him to move out, and two his Dad, although tried to be there like hanging drawings on the Fridge and called him Sport and stuff like that, he just was really busy, and wanted him to be in the same business as he was which intrigued Stick but he just didn’t like the feeling of being tied down by his Mom so he moved back to where he grew up as a kid. FAR AWAY.

- When he did get back it took him a while to find Peppino but when he did they got lunch and just hung out, they had a good time knowing each other again :] (Throughout the years they did change a lot, Pep got more anxious and had a bit of anger problems and Stick was more stuffy and serious, and other than the fact that after Stick dropped from his job and kind of become a con artist and…. Asked for money most of the time- They were still good friends, although Pep was annoyed with the fact that Stick made him pay at the Tower, he’s still angry about it-)

- Stick met Burton at a lab, Stick took engineering science (unfortunately he didn’t stay for long but he still likes inventing-) and he met Burton as an appointment.

- Burton is the most gentle soul imaginable, after their appointments Stick started to want to be around him more, which they ended up doing when after Stick was kicked out (for a certain accident 😬) and moved in together in their new apartment.

- Like the concept art, the apartment they live in is haunted, Stick constantly is seeing shit in the building and he’s scared but a bit intrigued, he’s gonna do something about it eventually 🤷‍♀️

- Burton stays at the apartment most of the time, he cooks and he cleans and Stick does- whatever the fuck he’s doing to get money- and come back to a very loving caring kind husband 💕💕

- Yes they did get married, and Burton’s brother the Pizza Pope helped them, he is a very supportive brother 🫶🫶

- When Stick comes home angry he goes straight onto Burton and screams into the void of softness (his chest) and hugs him afterwards, Burton is like a big ol’ pillow and he’s very comforting 💗💗💗

- ALSO, I’d like to think Burton is very soft spoken, like a very calm comforting deep voice. And he almost reminds me of a big cuddly teddy bear 💖💖💖

- Burton asked how Stick got all the money and why he was gone for so long, (poor hun was worried sick SOMEONE GIVE HIM A HUG) Stick replied, “TOWER”, and walked to bed and stayed there for hours, he was very drained-

Oh I have some Brick headcannons now YAAAY-

- All the rats in the Tower have their own personalities, and the poor things probably got hurt along the way from Pizza Head not only from him experimenting on the Fake clones and having them loose, therefore they attacked a lot of the rats, but they also just have to generally fend for themselves because of how dangerous the tower is…

- Brick is a civilized rat, although he is feral when he needs to, and he didn’t trust humans much before Pep, trust me, he had a grudge.

- He likes to play chess, poker, any type of card game really-, he’s athletic, a therapist, a doctor in philosophy, AND he’s known for being the BEST cheese maker there is, he makes the best home made cheese delights!!

- HE ADORES CHEESECAKE, specifically strawberry!!

- He’s also a smoker, not to often to were he’s addicted but he favors having a cigar or cig or just a pipe every once in a while (he favors the pipe-)

- Have I mentioned that although he doesn’t do it often, he can cook! Mostly stews or anything made with cheese- he can be a pretty good chef 💪💪

- He’s also quite strong, his claws mostly help with defense and he has a strong jaw but other than than he can throw a good punch.

- Okay, when he finally got to meet Gustavo he was VERY skeptical, and Gus tried to get him out of the dark by being sweet but it really didn’t work. Brick did not trust him.

- Gus was jumped by Brick

- After a little…. Incident…..Brick saved Gus, and Gus is forever grateful, and Brick, well, he discovered being pet was the best thing in the universe. ESPECIALLY BELLY RUBS 🫶🫶🫶🫶

- Brick was corporative with Gus at the least, the Tower was the worst thing to happen and Brick hated it, so he was more than happy getting Gus and Pep out with the reward of being set free from the tower.

- When more levels were completed Gus and Brick started to bond, and once Brick found that he really did like being with Gus, he started getting protective…

- If anyone were to threaten to hurt Gus, you are getting jumped. By a 220 pound 6’7 beast that has the bite strength of a jaguar.

- He will kill someone if told too, but Gus would never have him do that. He did almost kill Snotty though-

- AND FINALLY, after moving in with Gus and Pep he wanted to bond more with Peppino since he’s seen that Gus REALLY likes him, therefore he feels he should like him too. After a few attempts it finally happened where Pep patted his head in contentment. Brick was finally able to go in the bed with them both, he is very happy now :]

stock dancing but it's all the fandoms i've ever been in

despite tumblr's accounts being called blogs, this is probably going to be the only "blog post" that I'll ever post. at least in the near future.

it's going to be a long one. disclaimer, it will contain some talk of things like fandom discourse, as well of mentions of Dead Dove topics, so scroll away if you need.

it will also be pretty personal, so I'm not adding all the tags for the fandoms and characters. this is mostly to those who know me.

I'll start at the beginning, in the best chronological order that I can remember. Not by order of appearance in the video, because I kept forgetting what came first when drawing the frames.

My Little Pony (Rarity) and Warrior Cats (Firestar)

These were my very first "fandoms." Before I even went to school, I discovered MLP on the television. I then proceeded to draw those stupid little ponies on the desk and some plastic containers. Thankfully it was with pencil, and not on any important containers and whatnot. Very glad I'm not a brony now, and very glad there was a human version so I didn't have to make a pony awkwardly dance.

Warrior cats was a series I read for a long time. I don't remember when I dropped it, but I just ended up losing interest. It has been stretched out by a lot by now, I believe. Warrior cats was also the first fandom that I "participated" in, by using Amino. Somehow, miraculously, I got out unscathed. By that, I mean no "safe adults" or suspicious people approached me. Not that I would've fallen for it after listening to internet safety week. Firestar is at the end of the animation because, well, it's difficult to make a non-anthro cat dance the same way as people do.

It's funny, because these two are most associated with people becoming furries later on in life, and somehow I am the only one who doesn't take much of an interest in furries within my friend group.

LittleBigPlanet (Sackboy) and Vocaloid (Miku)

LBP wasn't something that I was really "in a fandom" for, but I definitely really enjoyed playing it with my best friend and even made my own username based on it. I remember playing LBP, LBP2, and LBP3, and the disaster that was LBP3 because after finishing the story, none of it would load properly. Tons of surfaces and props would just be missing. Still, it's a nice game to look back on.

I will be honest, this is probably the first Miku I've drawn. Vocaloid has just been a thing in my life since discovering it back... I don't remember when, but the first music that went in playlists of music I liked to listen to was generally made with vocaloid or other voice synthesizers. Miku has always been there, somehow.

Marvel (Winter Soldier), Pokemon (Misty), Yandere Simulator (stand in- Vera)

I never drew anything for Marvel, except for the above frame. My family watched it when I was younger, everyone watched it before it started falling off after the infinity stones thing got resolved. The only reason I put it here was because I definitely read fanfiction for it, and definitely thought there was something fruity about america and his best friend. I mean, you find yourself in the future and everyone you've ever known is dead except wait, your best friend isn't, but he's brainwashed and now you have to kill him, so you betray the government and all your new friends instead to try and reach him. Shame that kind of story was stuck in the mcu.

Pokemon was an interesting phase. I drew Pokemon in ms paint, but never any of the humans. I had (still have some) Pokemon plushes and watched the first Pokemon anime on Netflix when it was still on there. I also watched the one with Serena. This was also the fandom that I first discovered porn. And tentacles. So if you ask me why, it's because of Pokemon. It's rather funny, because once again, I seem to be the only one in the friend group who doesn't take an interest in Pokemon anymore.

Yandere Simulator was discovered in elementary school. Because it's been shown that the dev was found to be interacting inappropriately with minors, I have not drawn the protagonist of the game and instead used an OC of mine as a stand in. All you need to know about Vera is that he is not a good person. I used to draw for this fandom back in my Amino days, just a bit, but ended up dropping it because of more and more people pointing out his incompetency. Plus, the complaint that to do anything in game you would have to watch the videos on YouTube, thus making a blind playthrough impossible. As well as his "sex license" comment, which was more than enough to turn me away from that game.

That aside, YanSim was my first exposure to the "yandere" trope- the obsessive, possessive type characters. In the game, it was done in a very bland way, but I like the general idea of the trope. Its influence still drives me towards certain preferences of mine in other fandoms, but I'd rather attribute that to Araki, who apparently popularized the trope with Yukako. I guess this is probably where my interest in "bad things happening in fiction" started.

Don't Hug Me I'm Scared (Sketchbook), Don't Starve (Willow), Cookie Run (Roguefort Cookie)

Initially, DHMIS was going to be my second or third fandom on the list, but I realized that I got into it when I was old enough to have an email address, and not before. Hence, now it's down here. I ended up using that popular design of the human sketchbook to be recognizable. It was an interesting fandom, and also another from my Amino days. I don't know who came up with the idea of the sketchbook and the clock having a love-hate relationship, but looking back on it, they might've been cooking. I remember joining a discord server for it, having my phone get taken away, and then coming back and the server was about the grinch. I also remember that this was the first time I actually interacted with the community and talking to the others within the fandom, since the Amino community was pretty small. I look back at it and cringe, because there are so many things I did for attention. Instead of linking back to a person, I would put emojis around the link with sunglasses and pointing hands saying "This idea came from 😎 👉 this person." All that aside, this is probably where my interest in horror started.

The only reason I remembered that I was technically in the Don't Starve fandom was because I went looking in my folder of drawings and found some there. Then I remembered that yes, I had also read fanfiction for it. Mostly, though, it was a videogame that I played with my family. I ended up using the charcoal pencil brush here for Willow, instead of the pen, to mimic the artstyle just a bit.

Cookie Run is a fandom that I was in, and only get back in briefly whenever Roguefort is in an event. I also first discovered it due to an artist on tumblr who I followed for DHMIS. No idea where they are now because I can't remember the correct spelling of the username. Other than that, I just play the game, which I have been playing since before high school. Now I am out of high school. It was also the fandom that I believe was probably responsible for a good amount of my early art improvement, due to some art challenge where you drew every cookie. Overall, fond memories, but I'd rather not return to the fandom. Too much drama, too many people making big fusses over dumb shit. The Valentine's Day video being an especially dumb one, especially when you consider that maybe, putting in offensive stereotypes contributes to bad perceptions of real life people vs some ship between biscuits. I even remember asking, when I was younger, "Should I ship Pink Choco cookie with White Choco cookie or Hero cookie? I can't decide." Poor little me didn't know about multishipping, and the answer I got was that "Some people headcanon the Choco cookies as siblings, so it's safer to ship her with Hero." Well, now that I'm older, I have decided that I don't have the energy to act like fictional ships anywhere near the same level as real relationships and problems, and would probably ship both were I still interested in the fandom.

Team Fortress 2 (Sniper), Doki Doki Literature Club (Monika), Jojo's Bizzare Adventure (Kakyoin)

Yes, I was in the TF2 fandom. I barely played the game but I usually played as Medic when I did. I also realize that as I type this out, this might have been the original old men thing. Or at least, some of the oldest. I drew them a lot, and I wrote a fic that I orphaned some years later out of shame. It had a werewolf in it for some reason, and was multiple chapters. Although each chapter was only about 1000 words, compared to my current long-term multichapter fic which easily have 2000+ a chapter. Well, aside from that, I don't know why I liked Sniper the most. He throws piss in bottle and I will say, piss is something I avoid if I can. It's in my muted words somewhere.

I never personally played DDLC. I did watch playthrough of it, and seeing people's reactions to some of the stuff was always enjoyable. Yes, Monika was my favorite, and still is. I can't say with certainty why she is, but maybe I just found her the most interesting out of all the characters. This fandom I remember drawing for because this is where one of my OCs originated from, although that character I am only really remembering as I type this out, despite repurposing her.

JJBA. I cannot say that I look back at my time here happily. This is probably where I first started learning about the current state of fandom (ie, Not Good) and getting a bit of personal experience with it. At the time, I did enjoy it. I enjoyed talking in a ship server (A) about it, and another general server (B) about it. It was great and all, until A started blowing up. Which wouldn't be a problem if it didn't have a blacklist of topics that anyone could add to. They're useful in smaller circles, yes, but in large public servers, most things are going to end up being blacklisted. I remember dresses and "positive talk about mothers" being blacklisted, and eventually I got too anxious that I would say something on the blacklist to speak at all. B was okay, and I even tried to get over my fear of talking to strangers in voice chat by joining one during a whiteboard or something similar where everyone draws on the same canvas. I later ended up deleting all 200+ of my messages there and leaving. Why? Because the members of the server did not know the concept of "block and move on." "Scroll away." "Ignore things that you don't like online." A popular artist in the fandom was brought up and the people started trashing on them because of their wedding, which was apparently themed with the favorite JoJo ship. (But honestly, if someone wanted to theme their wedding to a ship I would respect the hell out of them.) The reason I ended up leaving that server was because they started saying stuff like, "It's creepy and weird, because the characters are minors so there's probably something wrong with that person," and implying such things over a JoJo ship of all things. (And, it gets into the territory of the "violent videogames are the cause of vioence" argument. Do you think that because I particularly enjoy using shotguns in videogames because I find them satisfying means that I want to go out and shoot real people with a shotgun? The state of gun control in the US is awful, and if anything, I want less guns.) And, generally, judging things by how "weird" they are rather than whether it harms or helps people is too arbitrary of a measure. Unfortunately, this was far from the last time that I would see serious accusations made on the basis of dumb shit, and now I am doubtful of most callout posts.

Other than that, at least I know all the Jojo references people complain about seeing all the time. Although, now that I'm not into JoJo, I don't actually see that many jokes about it.

Helltaker (Malina) and Weak Hero (Alex)

Malina gets two frames because she unluckily got the one that did not show her face. I can't say I remember much about the Helltaker community, but this was the community that I posted on Reddit to. Since then I have not used Reddit, but it was a good game and people seemed nice, at least from what I remember. Azazel was the one I drew the most, but Malina is a gamer girl, so I chose her for this.

I only remember Weak Hero because I saw that I drew a total of two images for this fandom. I discovered it on Webtoon, and joined a server which I have long since left, and that's all I can remember. Other than that, it was a webtoon with fighting and that's all I can say.

Omori (Omori) and Genshin Impact (Xinyan)

Omori was the first rpgmaker game I actually drew things for, although most of these drawings consisted of Sweetheart. Although I do like Ib and The Witch's House and Corpse Party, I never really went into the fandom. There wasn't much else to it, but the plot of Omori was good and it led me to discover one of my favorite artists, who, unfortunately, has left the internet. I wish them well.

Xinyan is here because she was and still is one of my favorites from the game. I wish she got better treatment from the game, especially gameplay-wise. I haven't drawn much for this game, due to the level of detail on outfits, but I did still play it for two years and read fanfiction for it. Lately I've just been watching videos for the story quest, though. Uninstalling it gave me 50+ GB back of space on my computer. About the Genshin fandom... JoJo may have been my first real bad experience with how online communities are, but this was my first time seeing how widespread it was. Lots of baseless accusations, fighting over headcanons, telling people awful things because they dislike a character... Well, the post that says the best way to enjoy fandom is to enjoy it with a small circle becomes more and more correct.

OC era (Left to Right- Aster @/sepialkali, Lucy @/hattiestgal, Alason @/moonlightguardianmoon, Zion @/sweet-pattycakes, Bisu/Sparrow @/monarch-orien, and Danaus)

For this one I realized that I had leftover blank frames at the end of the animation, and asked my friends for their ocs to fill in. This era lasted a very long time, and started because I discovered Tupperbox. Since then, my characters have become a lot less watered down as I drifted away from roleplay, and most of the things I do with them is just art now. Two of them are getting a sort of visual novel story thing made of them though, if that counts for anything.

Nu:Carnival (Kuya), Stardew Valley (Elliott), Wildfrost (Tusk)

Despite playing this game for a sizeable amount of time, the most I've done for this fandom was read fics and draw an event character once. Somehow, despite the bland gameplay, I have made a habit of continuing to play the game. I used Kuya because he's the only character I consistently roll for.

I first played Stardew Valley a long time ago without mods, and then forgot about it for a few years. When I came back to it earlier this year, I thought it would be funny to install mods that makes characters into crazy yanderes. It was definitely entertaining, although most of them were pretty standard. I will give massive props to whoever made the Elliott one, because they added events and schedule changes and a lot more than just dialogue changes. Anyways, the reason this is here is because I decided, on a whim one day, to start writing a very long fic for Stardew. This was at the beginning of the year, and it is not even halfway through right now. Then I lost interest in the game while retaining an interest in writing the fic, somehow.

Wildfrost I picked up near the beginning of the year. It doesn't have much of a story, and there's little fanart because of that, but the character designs are pretty good. I still play it daily, and Tusk is still a good unit, because it's basically free damage.

Honkai Star Rail (Peepaw Welt), The Greatest Estate Developer (Lloyd), The Coffin of Andy and Leyley (Ashley)

Honkai Star Rail remains on my computer, but I cannot find the energy to open and play it. Each new character becomes its own meta, and the gameplay loop isn't that enjoyable anymore. During the time that I did, however, I had my 50/50s ruined twice by Welt, which is why he is here. Otherwise I would've chosen Tingyun or Yanqing instead. Gameplay aside, I am lucky to have found a good community for this fandom through a ship server, as an almost complete mirror of the previous servers I was in for JoJo. They are what keeps me in the fandom.

TGED was a very short era that lasted for less than a month. During that time, however, I was afflicted by the demons, and drew and even wrote a decent amount (at least for my standards.) Funnily enough, what drove me away from it was the server I was in for it. This fandom is a very small one, and so the server had probably the majority of active fandom members that could speak English. What made me leave was the poor moderation and some immaturity from some members. Links to NSFW fanart was allowed in the same channel as SFW fanart, NSFW conversations wouldn't always be in the NSFW channel... Which, if it was an adults only server, would've been fine, but it is not, and I feel that this server is a genuine safety concern with the NSFW problem.

TCOAAL was a game I watched a playthrough of when it first came out, and then I saw the chaos that happened when it blew up with the release of the second chapter. I personally found it very entertaining, with the way people didn't have a problem with cannibalism and murder and cults until they found out there was an ending with incest, and suddenly the game was a bad game you shouldn't play. Although if you look at the Steam reviews most people don't care because, well, it's only a game. This game also served as a bit of a precursor. I find codependency in ships interesting, but I am only slightly interested in the game. I don't think about it that much, for some reason. Maybe that'll change when more chapters are released.

The S-Classes That I Raised (Han Yoojin)

If you take a quick scroll through my account, you can probably tell that this is my current fandom. Funnily enough, the server that brought me into this was one I joined while trying to get out of TGED. I suppose it only worked because I read it on Webtoon awhile ago. This server is a lot better kept, although maybe it's because it's strictly an 18+ server. As well as that, it's a smaller community within the fandom, because the server's subject is inherently tied to one of the Big Dead Dove topics, so there's a lot less worrying about drama starting over that sort of stuff. To my mutuals, I will not talk about weird dead dove stuff that I'm into unless asked to, so don't worry about it. Some sort of codependency just makes me go crazy. Unfortunately, I was not able to fit him next to another image to make Tumblr make him smaller, and had to remove one of Malina's frames to fit the 30 image limit.

I've been loving the younger Pax brothers and newer characters like Lou Ellen and Mercedes. It's also cool to see small differences like Pax playing more with gender which wasn't as present in TOO.

Can be comically useless. Don't get me wrong. He's meant to be a bad ass and have so much complicated turmoil to work through. But, keep a counter on how many times he gets taken out of a final fight before he actually gets to fight. Or gets his ass kicked.

Book 1: Aphrodite kneecaps him. On a sinking ship he didn't want shipped.

Book 2: Brothers being Brothers, blasting Axel's bluster with a bullet

Book 3: he gets to fight. But. Almost dies by praetor. Almost drowns by human fire hose.

Book 4: Almost dies by childhood fear of water puppy. Almost dies by half-brother's mom's parental skills.

Most of Riordon's plots revolve around a Hero's Journey, often times. His characters are normally rising bad asses. Axel already had his hero's journey when you meet him in Traitors of Olympus. It is well established and agreed upon by the other characters that Axel is a bad ass, even though you rarely see him win a fight outright. I get a certain amount of pleasure from the "oooOoooo, he's a bad asssss, when he's fighting oversized pidgeonnnnns with a frying pannnnn--"

My secret with Axel is he spends more time In Need of Rescuing than doing the rescuing. This works (oh gods--it does work? Right? Right guys? He seems cool--please--) because he has the presence, both in how he acts and how others react, of someone who is used to being in command and can command well. People respect him because of past heroics, even if you're not seeing him kick ass here. (How many of his fights has he won against Reyna, hrm?) Otherwise, I spend four books emotionally had physically kicking the cho out of him.

..... then comes the prequel

"Oh, fuck, I need to make Axel ACTUALLY cool--"

Axel is meant to be many things. In the first four books, he was meant to be

I wanted to take figure that looked like he would embody everything of toxic Hispanic Machismo, and then make them a hyper-feminist, social justice warrior that super supports their nonbinary little siblings, someone to fight a nasty stereotype from when I was growing up

Worthy of Reyna. Yes. Axel was made for Reyna, and they STILL SCREWED IT UP--GSDI REYEL, YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO--

But in the prequel, he's meant to be the parallel to the Greek's Percy and Rome's Jason. Lord knows (hail Kronos) that Riordan didn't set Luke up well for that. (I can do a different deep dive into this.) That means, not only does Axel need to progress, but he needs to rise above those around him. And he's surrounded by titans, mythical monsters, and serial killers like Jack and Flynn that can alter people's wills and health with words and songs. I'm going to end up truncating Axel's character development more than I want to, but, by all rights, he should have his own series-worth of adventures, and I believe he does.

It's just freaking HARD to go from humiliating and crushing someone for four books and then be like, "oh.... you need to... win here..."

Otherwise, Pax is relatively easy. Oh, except the Lamia thing. I might be, um, skipping over the Lamia thing. That is the one thing I just can't fit (we'll see) but the Trauma from--ehem, I mean the Massacre of Mount Othrys is more important to his character development. He has more pivot points, whereas Axel has long progression.

Jack was always meant to be a sweetie church boy that's got just a smidge of serial killer problem. Just a lil.

I'm SO freaking happy you like Mercedes and Lou Ellen. Mercedes is one of my favorite characters in Tales From Mount Othrys. <3 Her dialogue and scenes are tricky to write, but she's SO much fun to bring to life!

Can we learn more about your Caryll?

I don’t know if you’re familiar with the lil things I already made ? (About Caryll or my other interpretations, I already talked a bit about Caryll and I did some little drawings that I’m going to repost there + there’s a few ideas in my fic too hehe)

So, dear runesmith Caryll (my beloved). I know canon/lore wise we know almost nothing except that they translate a big part of the runes + create the rune tool that is extremely practical in the game. Somehow with so little I managed to create an interpretation I really like and found really cool!

Because the post is super long the rest under the cut.

First, I need to mention I use they/them when I talked about Caryll (so it's more clear for everyone and yeah non binary Caryll rules! In French it’s a bit more complex but I try to keep it neutral...too bad we don't have neutral pronoun.) But really they can dress with any type of clothes too so they don't really mind that some person could use one gender above the other for them.

You know, sometimes in the fromsoftware games some descriptions are keep neutral (in Japanese) and become masculine with the translation (so we can’t really be sure for Caryll) and also just because I can’t choose XD (both a female or male version of Caryll are interesting !

And I’m really bad at choosing so I thought… why not nonbinary Caryll?? there’s just a lil fellow :) It’s funny because usually I managed to choose, for Dores I managed for exemple but Caryll I can’t… I like various interpretations of bloodborne story & characters too ! Always so interesting and enjoyable to saw the one of others! And I guess the others characters try to keep it neutral too and because they have no idea either

So i really come up with this design randomly. I was thinking of a design for them and boom that what’s came into my mind. Already made a post here.

At the beginning there’s a students at Byrgenwerth, then a researchers after obtaining their degree and then worked with the Church (and began the choir?), the hunters etc... They might came from or have family in Hemwick or the Fishing Hamlet perhaps? (Like this headcanon) but i didn’t thought of everything yet.

Now personality wise if I had to resume, I will say they’re a just a lil "guy" :) they’re kind, curious, really intelligent a bit shy too (but it get better after they grow up a bit) the least agressive person ever…(absolutely not based on one of my own friend) it's just the vibe that it gives me. Really everyone loved them too (because runes/translate great one>all) younger than the majority of the students that came at Byrgenwerth so a bit complicated at first. Then some accident in the pthumeru labyrinth happened then boom you hear great ones and can understand runes. So yeah sometimes they’re acting really weird (like staring at the sea/lake at 2am but he’s not the only one so it’s ok xD) but who isn’t mad in bloodborne hm? At the beginning it’s still like ok and more consider « lunatic » and I least that help them understand a lot of thing + hear stuff + have dreams. But years pass and the voices become louder and louder…

I won’t talk to their relationship with everyone in details (that would be too long so maybe later) but in my hc they're quite close to Laurence, Maria & Gehrman (+had some class with Maria, Ludwig, Rom, Mico etc...) And basically a lot of people just like them in general. Willem took them under his wing too (well that man literally like to « adopted » + help kids & young adults in need XD

I'm not sure when the choir been formed but Caryll might be the their first « leader » You see the choir’s hat ? Caryll was the first one to have one like that.

And remember the eye pendant ? The one you got from cleric beast Laurence to go to the research hall? One of my most recent hc is that before Laurence had it, it belongs to Caryll.

Little facts :

Probably had an arcane build at some point

Like to look at big body of water (sea/lake)

Had a lil scar under the left eye but can actually see well from it. Until the fishing hamlet.

Caryll had augurs of Ebrietas (Caryll found them and keep the first ones they took back from Isz) and seems to understand them.

The choir's hat prototype they have was a gift made by Gehrman.

They helped Maria with the Astral clocktower construction.

They had some classes with Maria, Ludwig, Mico, Rom, Damian etc back in Byrgenwerth and pass their exams almost at the same time.

Laurence was their fav teacher.

Dores liked them (she don't like many people so that's huge)

They pass the Cainhurst vibe check.

Alcohol is not really their thing but they can drink more glasses than Laurence.

Can pass from one type of clothes to another really often. Making super confused someone who don't know them really well and saw them only once or twice before. What a fashion icon

And to finished you might wonder what happened to them in the end ? Well the game never answered us on that so... all I can say is that it's and it’s not going to end very well… But at least they're not trap forever in the nightmare like some, so it could be worse 🥲, Kos had some mercy. I like created funny hc but I got some really angsty and tragic one too T_T Even if I wonder why I made myself suffered I'm really proud of what I came up with for Caryll, and the impact it had on other characters.

And i will stop there i think. It’s a good introduction for now ! I have still so much to tell but another day x)

Glad I'm not the only one who hates the slimmed down Eggman art. He is EGGman. SHAPED LIKE AN EGG. Let him be big. People don't need to have ripped abs or be 99% muscle to be strong/intimidating/whatever. If they truly want a character that's super ripped and muscular, they can find a different character. Eggman is strong, eggman is fat, the fact that people can't seem to accept those both is super frustrating.

Anyway, that's my little rant. I have some strong opinions about this unfortunately underrated egg, and I'm glad to find a space where I can share them. Hope you're having a good day, take care!

Slimmed down Eggman art has always been my worst enemy lol. I'm so glad I'm not alone in my frustrations with it because it's so immensely popular. Everyone always prefers official skinnier versions over the fat ones and it's not a coincidence, they intentionally slim down classic or modern Eggman in art, or make skinny redesigns or draw him slim and buff instead. Also more people only started saying Eggman was hot when the most popular slimmer versions started existing and more people think fat Eggman ns4w is repulsive, while they say skinny sexy Eggman ns4w is hot. The fatphobia has always been extremely obvious in many ways and some don't even try to hide it and admit it openly.

I've loved fat Eggman and cared about keeping him round for as long as I've liked the series, besides Heroes, X was the first Sonic media I consumed around the same time and whenever there were simple small errors between frames where he was randomly drawn flat looking or skinny, even that bothered me. It made me draw a very chunky Eggman so I could be especially careful and make sure I never accidentally drew him too skinny and I loved it so much that it stuck as a part of my style lol. So the actual intentionally slimmed down Eggman in both official and fan content really bothers me especially when even the accidents would bother me a lot.

I'll only ever make the exception for Boom Eggman, I don't like him as much but he's still at least more faithful than Kintobor or jimbotnik in other ways. But did the whole slimming down a fat character for a redesign thing really need to happen in the first place? No. Just like how skinny characters aren't redesigned to be fat, there's no reason to slim a fat character down. Especially in Eggman's case, as it's literally the actual reason he has the goddamn name EGGman, it's not something that should just randomly be taken away for no reason when it's a core defining trait like what lmfao. Also makes me sad that any version can be liked by fatphobic morons as a result because they don't deserve any.

I can't pretend I don't hate the skinny Eggman gender swaps or younger anime boy redesigns, even all the anthro ones are skinny. Slimming down and making characters "conventionally attractive" sucks. Let them be interesting and fun instead of the most boring standards with the most generic designs. A little creativity here! I also don't like when people draw ripped skinny Eggman when they find out about his strength because fat strong people exist! He's great rep and proof he doesn't need to look like that to be strong and yet people do it anyway and I don't think it's sexy or funny or whatever. I hate when people are like "wow he actually looks strong/like a power type character now" nah, he already does exactly the way he is.

Eggman being a big strong fat man is one of the coolest most admirable things about him to me, I find it sad that a lot of the fandom don't respect it and are so fatphobic too. I'm very passionate about loving and appreciating that as he really deserves. 💜 Lol this is indeed the perfect place to share those strong Eggman opinions as I unsurprisingly have a lot too, I'm glad you find this a good place to do so. ^^

11. What reoccuring themes present themselves throughout their music videos?

OKAY ACTUALLY I DID A LOT THOUGHT ABOUT THIS!

Key visual aspects would be the things inside Hikaru's room and their garden and flowers. Hikaru's room, at the start of the video, would be covered of things they like. Just as this one art I did:

you could also use parasite as a reference, bc the first time I saw the vid it shocked me alot bc both the visuals and lyrics fit hikaru so well. how it transitions from light colors to dark ones.

At first, Hikaru's room looks like it always does; full of the things they likes, full of color, stuffed animals, posters, decorations and a lot of other things. There are also a couple of things that stand out, these being green, representing Kazuto; This would represent how, despite the fact that Hikaru keeps their inner world almost intact at the beginning, little by little they integrates what Kazuto is with what they are. As the video advances, Hikaru's things start dissappearing and they're replaced by Kazuto's things, their whole room being fully covered on green and non-personal items at the end.

Scenes from Hikaru's daily life. At this point in the video, most of the things on their room are green or gray. The old decorations in their room are thrown on the floor and they looks physically more tired. Hikaru trips and falls among their belongings, "drowning" on them.

The next important symbolism would be flowers, that also mirror Parasite's mv.

Hikaru gives Kazuto their first gift: common dahlias. Dahlias usually represent a strong bond between two people, but they can also represent instability. Kazuto smiles at them.

Hikaru is taking care of the dahlias in their garden, however with each scene they are slowly losing their color. They don't wilt, but they look much less alive than before. However they continue to water and care for them. From this point and increasing in the following scenes, Hikaru has visible injuries.

At the end of the video Hikaru cuts the dahlias they've been planting. This time, they are black dahlias. Black dahlias represent negative feelings such as sadness or feeling betrayed. Upon reaching their room, everything is grey, except for Kazuto's things. Among all their things Kazuto rests face up on the floor. Hikaru puts the flowers on his chest, hugs him and it cuts.

Something that's also important throught both videos would be Kazuto's appeareance. In their 1st song, Kazuto would look younger, which is this one design:

Following t1 Hikaru inno route, this would change in the second video, where the actual Kazuto would be showcased. Hikaru and Kazuto met when Hikaru protected him from bullying, therefore Hikaru's perception of him would stay as someone who can't take care of himself and needs Hikaru. As this starts to change and Kazuto starts to move on from Hikaru, they start distressing and just stays fixated on the past of their relationship, when Kazuto needed them and everything seemed nice.

Seeing past Kazuto instead of the actual one would represent how they're still stuck in the past and in this idealized, more weak version of who Kazuto is

I still haven't structured their 2nd mv, but I know that the first one will focus on their happy moments while the second one will focus on how they met, how Kazuto changed and ultimately how Hikaru killed him.

15. What would their birthday art look like? What type of cake would they have? Is there any hints of their murder in them?

okay this one was hard but I thought about red velvet, it has their same color scheme and also is my favorite cake yum

I wouldn't mind the whole Curt being an Oscorp scientist if: - he started working there when he was younger, more ambitious but also naive, thinking Oscorp might be the perfect opportunity for him

- he stayed there because it's a solid jumping off point for him so he can add it onto his CV if he wants to change jobs and let's be real, a lot of people accept jobs at corrupt corporations to get a career boost

- plays into the ambitious/naive idea - thought he could get access for good equipment for his research

- he needs the money to feed his family and can't get a better paying job at the moment

I can see Insomniac Curt working for Oscorp only because no one else wants to hire him after the Lizard fiasco and he's probably desperate to get a job. But a lot of adaptations don't really consider those factors, so we get this weird distilled version of him that is straying further away from the original. I do think it would be funny if him and Norman had this disgruntled colleagues thing going on, but that would require competent writers.

Yeah, this is basically how I feel about Curt being reimagined as an Oscorp scientist instead of a professor or independent researcher too, especially as someone who, despite my personal preferences, tries to be flexible, re: adaptations taking creative liberties with the source material to explore new ideas or make the story they want to tell work - I don't think it's off limits, but it's a choice that, like you said, needs thought put into it, not just trying to keep the cast as closely connected as possible, though that is a valid concern for adaptations, especially if there is a limited run time; not to bring up Shed, but when Curt was uncharacteristically working for a corporation in that story and its lead up, it was an interesting direction (one of the few positive things I will say about that arc) bc it was a way to show that he had hit rock bottom and was out of options as far as employment goes, but still needed a job to prove he could support his son.

And yeah, I like the ideas you listed here bc not only would it make sense for Curt to work for Oscorp under those circumstances, but they would allow for him to be a dynamic character who actually changes and grows over time, and he can still be a relatively good person and a sympathetic character, which, as I said, are crucial traits for him or else he's a generic shady corporate scientist who diverges too much.

As far as Insomniac!Curt goes, I definitely got the impression that he was technically a medical doctor as his day job while the Oscorp research thing was a secret, as suggested by the underground Oscorp lab for studying the symbiote being off the books, and from what little we saw of his younger self in the flashback, I can definitely see him initially having gotten taken in by the chance to do extremely groundbreaking medical research, only to get stuck under Norman's thumb even before the Lizard incident, and after that, he really had no other options but to continue working on the symbiote in secret (though I do feel like Curt genuinely cares about Harry as well, at least enough to have tried to stand up to Norman on Harry's behalf before getting bullied into releasing him) and having a day job at the EMF bc no one would hire him after his identity as the Lizard became public knowledge.

But yeah, I agree it could be interesting if an adaptation ever tried going in a different direction where they are colleagues who despise each other instead of a boss bullying his employee! I guess nowadays, that understandably ends up as a Norman versus Otto thing as two of the Big Three A-list villains, but if you draw from the 616 comics for inspiration, you could get an interesting dynamic out of Norman the militaristic all-American capitalist weapons developer versus Curt the former army medic humanitarian who radicalized against US militarism - though yeah, like you said, it would require competent writing, and with rare exceptions like the Insomniac games, that's not really the direction Norman and Curt have been going in lately.

Album of The Week: ‘La Pioggia Di Marzo’ by Mina

Stand out song: ‘La Pioggia Di Marzo’. 

For about three years now I have been buying clothes and other goods from the Accrington based supplier Trickett. The thing is, I say Accrington based but really, thats not where the brand is based at all. Sure, geographically it might be and whilst some of the items are inspired by the local area,the majority of the wears and the spiritual home of the brand is Naples, Italy. My love for Trickett opened my eyes to the city in Southern Italy and a deep adoration was formed for the city’s football team, once home of that certain Argentinian man, perennial underdogs or rather underdonkeys who this season defied all odds and won Serie A. But I digress, I’m not talking about Napoli’s stunning league title win, we could be hear all day otherwise, but instead I am talking about how a little bit of Italian culture goes a long way. And thats just it, whilst I did go to Italy when I was younger, about fifteen years ago infact, I still feel this bit of a connection tot he country because of Trickett. As a result, sometimes I do like to put on background Italian music as I daydream about being there and yesterday was exactly one of those times except when I put on this particular Italian morning playlist, the first song that I heard made me stop in my tracks and then smile from ear to ear. 

We’ve been to Italy, now let us go to Norway. Since seeing 2021′s ‘The Worst Person in The World’ it has often occupied a spot in my headspace. This has been the case for a few different reasons. Ofcourse, the film itself, but perhaps more than that is its vision of Oslo which I then replicated to an extent on my own visit to the Norwegian capital, yes I did go to that book store and pretend I was in the film, but even more than the locale and visions of Oslo, it is the soundtrack that has stayed with me the most. ‘The Worst Person in The World’ has an expertly curated soundtrack with the real highlight for me being the ending track that accompanies the ending shots of the film perfectly. When I heard ‘Waters of March’ by Art Garfunkel waft from my television it wormed its way into my heart immediately and it became one of my key songs if not the song of 2022 for me. More than that though, it became one of my key songs for all time. One of those songs that I listen to all the time, that I turn to when I need to listen to something that centres me and one that I know I’ll listen to in years to come to remind me of this time in my life as I do ‘Pet Sounds’ and ‘Saturday Night, Inside Out’ by the Beach Boys and the Avalanches respectively. ‘Waters of March’ is a song that everytime I hear its opening I smile, I instantly get that hygge feeling that I am forever yearning for and yesterday morning, I got that feeling but from a slight variation of a theme. 

Now, back to Italy and that Italian morning playlist that I was listening to yesterday morning. When I hit play on the playlist the first song that made its way into my headphones sounded slightly familiar and then extremely familiar before it dawned on me what it was. When I looked at the title, I knew what it was, I didn’t need to be able to read Italian to recognise ‘La Pioggia Di Marzo’. That gentle guitar strumming that opens the track that has become a staple in my life was quickly accompanied by the Italian singer Mina’s upbeat vocals, and I fell for the ‘Waters of March’ all over again. One of my favourite things is in music is to hear different interpretations of the same song and to hear the original versions of songs compared to a track that sampled it. I like hearing these variations on a theme because I like seeing the same track from a slightly different point of view and ‘La Pioggia Di Marzo’ delivers that completely here. It is still the ‘Waters of March’, it contains all of the elements that always draw me to the track but here, it feels oh so Italian, not only in its singer’s vocals but in the overall atmosphere of the track. The ‘Waters of March’ makes me think of autumn and winter and so it stands to reason that this version must make me think of the spring and summer as listening to it makes you feel like you are being bathed in the Italian sun. It is a wonderful, no, mervagliso version of one of my favourite songs that I will now be listening to all summer song. 

‘Waters of March’, ‘The Worst Person in The World’, Trickett, Napoli, ‘La Pioggia Di Marzo.’ Everything is connected and there truly is beauty in that.

"Meet Captain America'

Okay, I have lost all my will to live with all the mini-sodes. I'm going to do the Captain America one in order. It did air in order online, which ?? Why is Captain America the only one the series cared about?

OH wait. It's because Captain America isn't part of the first Avengers team. He shows up later and the viewer has to know who he is. That's why they need us to understand his arc. I see what you did there, show.

I do want to talk about the mini-sodes more, especially "Welcome to Wakanda" and how is it such a lesser portrayal of Wakanda than the Ryan Coogler movies. (Admittedly, it's a "child-appropriate" version of the comic book canon at the time, but it's still fucked up.)

The main difference from Captain America's backstory in "Meet Captain America" than Captain America: the First Avenger is that Bucky is a kid, like he was in the comics, and not Steve's peer. They brought on kid-sidekicks to draw in younger audiences so of course they keep him as a kid on the cartoon. (Nerd note: Young Bucky is voiced by Scott Menville, who you might recognize is also Robin on Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go. So really a classic Teen Sidekick voice.

We also see that Nathaniel Richards, aka Kang the Conqueror is sort of the narrator of Captain America's story. Although they also add an old-timey newsreel type opening, which is odd. Seems unnecessary to do two frame stories. Anyway, Kang is looking back into the past and apparently he's watching stupid newsreel footage instead of actually seeing through time, which he can do.

Kang's storyline has a lot to do with Steve in the EMHU . In the MCU we only so far know him as a villain of Loki and Ant-man (Scott Lang version). Though we know from marketing announcements he will eventually face the Avengers as a team.

Of course Kang in the MCU has to be involved with breaking the "multiverse" open now that Disney own all the rights to all the Marvel characters, including the X-Men and Fantastic Four.

This series, since it's a different medium, already had access to the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. We see Wolverine in a World War II flashback in this episode. (Which some people hoped Fox would allow when Captain America: the First Avenger came out, but they did not. It would have been cool to see Bucky, Steve and Logan just hanging out.)

However, since this is and Avengers show and not a Marvel Universe Show, Wolverine (the only X-Man to be part of the Avengers in this show), and the Fantastic Four only really show up sparingly.

I do wonder if the MCU will, at some point, be force to break the universe in pieces a bit. Some people only the the X-Men books in the comics and maybe major team ups. Can they do something like that in the movies? Find a way to make each franchise feel different from the others? Make mainstream audiences chose their heroes the way nerds always do every Wednesday?

(An example, make the X-Men films the darker and more adult stories, the Avengers series occupies this middle zone of big popcorn everyone comes out, and the Fantastic Four franchise is a more kid-friendly, younger audience?)

Under the cut I compare this more to Captain America: the First Avenger

Skinny Steve, scientists, Bucky and the Howling Commandos, Red Skull, group fight. That is pretty much the same structure as Captain America: the First Avenger.

Except CATFA needs to have a romance with Peggy Carter. The cartoons aren't entirely "ew cooties romance" as it could be. But here it finds no female relationship as important as the one to Bucky. (And I do think the MCU initially took that approach of a young boy that doesn't care about girls telling the story. And then they were a bit surprised female viewers of the films cared what happened to Peggy. Like the comics at the time just has Gail and there's very little we know about her.

(Like Kevin Feige was like, "wait the women have to be important in the flashbacks before the important stuff too?" Shit, give Peggy and show and the only way we can make Carol important enough to male viewers is to say she existed before. She's an old hero like Cap and Namor and Wolverine. ??? )

(Is being a hero during World War II the greatest honor we can bestow on our mainstream heroes? Wonder Woman, Cap, Wolverine, all have that element.)

I shouldn't get high and watch these cartoons??? What does it mean that they didn't give it to Isaiah Bradley in the show?

Anime Update V2 22

Noragami Aragoto - Yato and Hiiro (Nora) went to rescue Ebisu from a situation he'd put himself in down in the underworld, and this part was great because Ebisu is quite the fun character, especially with Kent Williams as his dub voice. Unfortunately the other Gods of Fortune got implicated in a grave misdeed due to Ebisu's actions (including the Bryan Massay god who I keep forgetting is a thing). Hiyori's plotline, though, is a groaner since she's now losing her memory of Yato AGAIN, with the anime again neglecting to draw any parallels to the last arc of Season 1 where they used this plot device before. And this one high school boy who's totally not really Yato's dad takes advantage and forces a first kiss on her at the theme park.

Hunter x Hunter - The short but very engaging Heaven's Arena arc has begun.

1999 - Not too much different except that there's a comical scene with Gon and Killua involving Chocolate Robots, the girl working the elevator is more of a character and sounds like Arika Yumemia, the real high floor is a lot scarier, and Hisoka suddenly has red hair after having spent the entire Hunters Exam with blue hair. Also, what the "lie" that Wing told Gon and Killua about Nen was even supposed to be was totally lost on me, as his initial explaining of the techniques made a lot more sense. 2011 - Wing actually writing down the characters for what he was talking about and making the dinstinction between one "Nen" and the tecnhique he and Zushi use was very helpful in getting the point across. The higher floor was disappointingly less threatening than it was in the earlier anime, but 2011 Hisoka being true to form more threatening made up for it.

Fruits Basket - School is back in session with Haru and Momiji here!

2001 - Kyle Hebert as the Student Council President was very recognizable even back then, and Justin Cook still does great at Haru's two personalities, but good lord did Kimberly Grant not know how to emote as Momiji. And speaking of not emoting, the scene with Akito was meant to be terrifying and reflect the fear that both Tohru and Yuki had of him, but I did not feel that since Clad Cline's voice acting was just so laughably stiff and robotic - Aaron Dismuke as a much younger Akito had better delivery! Maybe it was just voice direction that told him to sound creepy and little else, since his final lines in the episode actually were well delivered and fittingly sinister. 

2019 - Ah, THERE we go. The scene that played out with Tohru, Yuki, and Akito with Colleen Clinkenbeard voicing Akito was spine-tingling, viscerally unpleasant and disturbing, just as it needed to be. I'm so glad that Tohru pushed the bitch out of Yuki's way, and relieved she did it without suffering Akito's wrath in return! I also think this one ended at a slightly better place than where the first version rather abruptly stopped. The one part that I did not get in either was what Haru showed the Student Council President to prove that his two-toned hair was natural. Apparently it was his pubic hair, but how was I supposed to guess THAT? He could've just washed his hair!

Rozen Maiden - Watched the two-part OVA Overture, which takes place between the end of the first season and the start of the second, contains set-ups for what will be going down in that second season, and flashes back to the origin story of both Shinku and Suigintou, and why Suigintou became so obsessed with becoming Alice and getting to see her father again that she turned to a life of cruelty and homicidal madness. I felt so terrible for Suigintou before but this really made my heart break for her. Now I’m just wondering how in all that is holy is she still alive and why’s she now some sick girl’s guardian angel? I’m eager to find out more in the season to come!

Fate/Stay Night - Watched the Unlimited Blade Works movie, which adapts the Archer route of the novel and goes to very different places than the anime’s story did despite starting off the exact same way. What Archer’s deal was and what his mythical hero identity is were left unresolved in the anime, so I’m glad this film was made in order to finally give us answers. While part of me did miss the bonding between Shirou and Saber, having him and Rin get the bond, and putting a lot more emphasis on Rin in general, were very welcome. This movie also had a notably higher animation budget that the show and did many things better - the final battle was notably way more intense, the forming of the Holy Grail more nightmarishly displayed.

But not everything worked, mind you. Ilya got done majorly dirty with a gruesome, totally gratuitous and preventable death, while that piece of shit Shinji Matou overstayed his welcome as one of the main villains. Kirei, I hate to say since he is such a compelling antagonist, was even worse handled here, going the opposite route of the show in that his role ends up mattering too little and feels pointless (Shirou never learns that Kirei started that big fire and killed his father here!) Archer actually being an alternate future version of Shirou himself should’ve been huge, yet they reveal it in the most underwhelming way similar to how they did things on the show. And lastly, what was with Gilgamesh’s look in this? He keep straight hair and casual clothing the whole way through! So much for “the golden servant!”

Revolutionary Girl Utena - Mitsuru’s diary, pretty much all about Nanami and what he learned through stalking her all the time (even for events we never knew he was there for, ‘cause when Nanami was around, he was always there!) was used for a humorous recap episode of all Crazy Nanami Antics just as a light-hearted breather after the dark and heavy shit of the previous two episodes.

Love Live! Nijigasaki School Idol Club S2 - The next School Idol Festival was held and we even met some new characters, but anything that went on here paled in comparison to two major occurances: Nana outing herself as Setsuna Yuki to the school, and Lanzhu Zhong, voluntarily and without second-guessing at all, played a big role in saving the day. She may not agree with the unified idol performances of the Nijigasaki Club girls, but she still resepcts them.

MAR - Fight 2 of Round 2 was Nanashi VS Loco, which was fun and all, and I especially liked learning about how Loco has actually been de-aging herself every time she uses her special ARM, but I sorta knew how it would end given the precedent established with Jack’s fight back in Round 1 - Nanashi loses, though interestingly enough it’s only because he couldn’t go through with making a killing blow. Which is the total opposite of what we get with Dorothy in the third and final fight. That it starts with Dorothy laughing her ass off at her opponent’s threat to kill her set the expectation and boy did she not disappoint. It was pretty much a curb-stomp in Dorothy’s favor, with Dorothy creating the first casaulty of the War Games by having Toto devour that cowardly cloaked serial killer. She scary, but I loves her!

AMC: Akumada Drive - In the two-part event of the third and fourth episodes, Cat Boy has the Akudama hijack a subway train, fight back against security and the Executioners again, and try to avoid the quarantine/disinfectant zone in order to retrieve some “cargo” being held by Kanto. That “cargo” turning out to be the two children Brother and Sister, the former being the one who’d been controlling the cat and speaking through it. But what stood out the most in the whole thing was how adorable and funny Swindler is and just how perfectly Macy Anne Johnson voices her. Between this and Shikimori, she really deserves to be cast in more leading roles! Just as good is how unrecognizable Zeno Robinson continues to be as Brawler. Also, am beginning to suspect there’s more to “Kanto” than what the weird Bunny and Shark propaganda cartoons have been telling us....

Code Geass: Akito the Exiled - Movie 3 was probably the best of them I’ve seen to date, even in spite of the offputing portrayal of Romani people at the very start. I was actually really into the further development we got from Akito- (not pronounced A-KEET-OH, thankfully!) and his psychopathic brother, and we even got Leila’s backstory and hints at something deeper, darker, and more Geass-driven going on with General Smilas. Of all entries in the anime section of the franchise, I really do feel these films get closest to getting down what the series should’ve been past the initial Lelouch of the Rebellion season - it feels like its own story playing out in this same larger world and I can both get behind the new central players AND get the chills with Lelouch (”Julius Kingsley”) showing up and using the same playbook as Zero, Shin revealing he’s figured out that “Julius” IS Zero, and Suzaku fighting with spin-kick moves and Lancelot. The one big waste of potential is that Lelouch and Suzaku do not go up against Akito and his allies, instead being regulated to an Evil VS Evil plot with Shin. If only this had been a larger series...
