As a first impression the Baciel Hydra Barrier cica essence toner has left a good one. It has 83% centella asiatica, hyaluronic acid and 17 amino acids to help promote turnover cycle, protect and soothe the skin. Whe I tell you I pour a lot of it and the bottle is still full, is true! It has a bit of a thick consistency but is light at the same time. It is fragrance and essential oils free, no scent whatsoever! It feels very refreshing on my skin, easy to mix, it does dry a bit tacky but goes away in a few minutes. I ran out of concealer recently. I’ve always used Chanel Colour Corrector Concealer but after reading a few articles I discovered just how many chemicals are in commercialized concealers like Chanel. Like a healthy balanced diet, skincare products and makeup also need a good balance. I decided to look for a healthier concealer product.

I read the reviews about rms beauty’s concealer and decided I’d try it. I like that it’s claim is to make skin healthier the more it’s worn. It’s supposed to help lock in moisture and even out skin tone with the help of organic, Non GMO ingriedients like coconut and jojoba oil. It’s free of parabens. Free of talc. It also ranks a 2 on the EWG verification.

So far I love it. I love that doesn’t make my skin oily. I also love that this concealer doesn’t feel like makeup.

It’s important once you start to look up and use more natural products that you look at the ingredients and do a simple search on what they do and any potential hazardous health effects it can have on you. Don’t just take the companies word for it on the package. There is something called green washing that many companies do. There will be a post tomorrow giving a perfect example of this. It makes a company appear more environmentally friendly/less harmful than what it really is. In the last couple years there has really been a huge movement with people wanting more natural products so that’s why you see so many options in the grocery stores. Just always be aware of what you’re buying and look into the company’s ethics and ways of procuring their ingredients if they state it’s natural. If they can’t be transparent with you than you don’t need to buy their products!

I do a quick google search of an ingredient and usually type “is it toxic?” I look up any health impacts that ingredient might have than go from there. A good website I also use and trust is EWG’s skin deep database. They have a search feature where you can look up any ingredient or any product and it will tell you any concerns for that product and will give you a rating with how much data is available for research done on it. You want a low score with a high amount of data availability.

Now I have a little challenge for you. Either use google or EWG’s skin deep database. Choose your most used all-purpose cleaner and look up the ingredients and in the comments post your picture and any health concerns associated with your product along with the rating from EWG! I’ll do mine below. Check it out ------>

Here is my cleaner I use with breakdown of ingredients. Young Living Thieves Household Cleaner 1. Water 2. Sodium methyl 2-sulfolaurate & disodium 2-sulfolaurate - both are plant based oleochemicals like coconut oil that provide your product the surfactant like quality (detergant/foaming agent) 3. Clove, lemon, rosemary, eucalyptus radiata, cinnamon bark essential oils for scent and added health benefits 4. Tetrasodium glutamate diacetate - plant based and readily biodegradable. Provides a safer preservative booster chelating agent compared to most cleaning products with EDTA(look up the big word 😅) which is know to cause kidney damage, headaches, nausea and skin problems.
