JS Compilation post
Another day, another compilation post dedicated to one of the irrelevant women in Chris’s life. Seriously anons, if you want this to become a thing, maybe we should discuss women that actually matter to him like his mom or Octavia Spencer. We would love discussing those!
These are old asks, so some questions might have already been answered (like the book chapters). All the asks can be found below.
So now that Jenny has gotten her own post on this blog, I feel like you anons have given her more attention than Chris ever has. Let’s focus back on him and the beautiful Dodger content he blessed us with today. At least we know he treats him like a good boy.
Red & Ginger
Notice Chris never says anything bad about his ex’s. If the chapter was about him it must of been a punch in the gut. Bet he’s never read the book.
*****************
Fans disliked JS not because of her book but because she cheated on her husband just to be with Chris. She tweeted horrible things, she deleted those but some blogs still have screenshots just google it. She was trolling Chris fans all the time while they was "dating". In my personal opinion she's a horrible woman. She pretends to be a feminist but she's far far far away from real feminist.
*****************
In my opinion, JS seems like she is very high maintenance and her mind runs a million miles a minute that would be too overwhelming for me to deal with. And I’m only basing this off of the interviews I seen with her.
*****************
She always refers to Dean (her ex husband) as her husband in the book. She always makes sure to make that distinction between husband and boyfriend. It's obvious that she's talking about Chris. She also mentions Dodger without naming him. Just read between the lines. If you were there for the Chris/Jenny saga since the beginning, it's not very difficult to decipher.
*****************
He eats gross, I mean the man admitted he can not cook really well? Or is there another meaning behind that? 🧐
*****************
"I am tired of sinking down to a lower place to be with men. I am tired of throwing a tarp over some of my personality so that the shape of my identity suits some gross man a little better, for whatever shitty things he needs to do in order to keep his boring identity erect & supreme. I am tired of buying my own flowers. I am tired of having to hold my breath through Val’s Day the way you do when you drive past a graveyard" Sounds like karma to me Maybe stop blaming & take it as her own fault too
*****************
JS comments “What’s the same about us is not just that we’re from Massachusetts, which was such a delight, but Chris is truly one of the kindest people I’ve ever met, to the point where sometimes I would look at him & it would kind of break my heart. He’s really vulnerable, & he’s really straightforward. He’s like primary colors. He has beautiful, big, strong emotions, and he’s really sure of them. It’s just wonderful to be around. His heart is probably golden-colored, if you could paint it.”
*****************
Sorry to bother you again but do you or anyone else know what chapter/s to look for so I don’t read the whole thing?
*****************
The podcast jenny slate talked about slapping chris on was anna ferris’ podcast. It still up, just search for it in podcasts. He was on it too, he was laughing about it. Idk about timing but they were claiming to just friends at the time but i think they may have started hooking up by then.
*****************
Tbh I can't imagine Chris' lifestyle is that unhealthy. I mean, c'mon he looks so damn fine. I think he and especially his body and his skin would show some signs.
*****************
You know when it comes to Hollywood celebrities relationship money bring them attention then they talk about relationship good or bad or even the ugly they don’t care they just want attention and shit And I always hated that cause relationship is supposed to be private that’s why Chris said he wants to be private with his love life
*****************
Unfortunately, celebrity gossip sells even when it comes from the horse's mouth. You take JS talking about CE that’s going to get more eyes simply because CE has such a high profile. It not right, and like you said, it should stay between them. She wanted to sell her book, so who knows how much is true maybe none of it, perhaps all of it, or somewhere in between.
*****************
Thank you for correcting me I got confused but I knew it was before lobby hero started they broke up
*****************
“ The apartment hunting was fake news same as Chris searching for a ring to propose to Jenny. They broke up in early January.” I don’t think the apartment hunting was fake. The way it was framed may have been but she probably did tag along with him while he looked for somewhere to stay while he did Lobby Hero.
*****************
“ Yes. It seemed very odd since CE and JS were both in Atlanta at the time & Chris didn’t have time off then.” Chris was able to fly out to her comedy shows when he was filming so they could have flown to look at apartments in his free time. It’s not that far fetched. I don’t think they were moving in together but this was around the time Lobby Hero was announced so he was probably looking for somewhere to stay since rehearsals for that began right after he wrapped Endgame.
*****************
Anon JS, in her book, said CE eating habits are gross, and he smokes.
*****************
I though JS said she did like his beard in the comedy show?!? That info is not mentioned in her book
*****************
Ewww i nearly threw up that ask about his eating habits why would she ever say something like that 😷
*****************
I think she was like... He dumped me for good, he's not in love, don't want me back at all, so let's be mean in this book
*****************
Aww, man, if that anon story was real, I really, really feel bad for the guy. All the comedy shows I watched, I've never really seen spouses/SOs being the brunt of the joke. Everyone knows who her bf is, everyone knows who the joke is about. Not too nice.
*****************
Did JS bad-mouthed CE?? I have come across certain fans who claim she has but I never got the whole story!
*****************
I wonder if he read that book and even not reading how he must have felt knowing how she described / exposed him that way.
*****************
Was that other anon agreeing with me because I never said someone should change for anybody else, I said the same thing she CHOSE to change for him but it’s all on her (if it was agreeing then ignore this and yes the burn book was very juvenile to do)

The Political Avenger: Chris Evans Takes on Trump, Tom Brady, Anxiety and Those Retirement Rumors
Ahead of 'Avengers: Endgame,' the progressive Captain America actor and Twitter firebrand says he's ready to retire his Marvel hero for directing gigs, a new Apple show and the fight against the "dumb s—" president: “I’d be disappointed in myself if I didn’t speak up.”
Tumblr media
It's a Friday afternoon in February, and the view from Chris Evans' house in the Hollywood Hills consists mostly of fog. He bought this place for $3.2 million in 2013, back when he was two hit movies into his seven-film stint as Marvel Studios' Captain America; there's a Zen-ish garden inside the front gate, and a stone Buddha sits by the door. Evans banishes his dog, Dodger, to the guest room, shuts off the TV in the family room (CNN on mute), cracks a can of Modelo, and takes a seat on the couch. His arms are insane, as thick as thighs.
Evans has a movie coming out in a few months — an intimate little passion project called Avengers: Endgame (April 26). It's the sequel to last year's Avengers: Infinity War, which raked in $2 billion worldwide and ended with Thanos (Josh Brolin) disintegrating half of Earth's population, including the still-bankable likes of Black Panther and Spider-Man. The moody trailers for Endgame are designed to reveal even less than usual, but it's safe to assume that Captain America rallies Earth's mightiest surviving heroes for a rematch with the mad god who finger-snapped their friends and loved ones into oblivion, which means this will be the first of the four Avengers movies to depict actual avenging.
Evans — who made $15 million for the past two Avengers films, up from $300,000 for his first stint as Captain America — has said he's done playing the character after this. It's been reported that he intends to retire from acting entirely. And yet the announcements of new work keep coming. He's in Rian Johnson's crowded-house murder mystery Knives Out, due in November. He's playing the father of a teenager accused of murder in Apple's forthcoming limited series Defending Jacob. He's in talks to star in Antoine Fuqua's Infinite as a presumably Chris Evans-ish guy who can recall his past lives. It's a crowded dance card for a newly retired 37-year-old actor, and when I bring this up, Evans gets as annoyed as he'll get all afternoon.
"I never said the word 'retire,'" he says. "It's a really obnoxious notion for an actor to say they're going to retire — it's not something you retire from."
All he said — back in 2014, as the end of his obligation to Marvel loomed on the horizon — was that he was hoping to get behind the camera more, and that he'd told one of his CAA agents, "We are turning a corner." Cut to 5,080,000 Google hits for "Chris Evans retiring."
So, for the record: He's not retiring. He'd love to direct more, but the way he talks about it makes it sound more like a five-year plan. He's been looking for a good script, except the problem with good scripts is that they tend to go to great directors, which is not a weight class Evans would put himself in, not yet. He's directed one film, the slight-but-not-embarrassing indie romance Before We Go, which grossed $37,151 in theaters in 2014, or roughly 0.01 percent of what Infinity War made on its opening weekend. When that project is faintly praised in his presence — he also starred in it, opposite Alice Eve — he waves this off, saying it mainly taught him how much he didn't know. "I'm OK with making mistakes," he says, "and I learned a lot from that one."
Tumblr media
Once he's done helping Marvel hype Endgame, he's going to take advantage of the security provided by nearly 10 years of huge superhero movies by letting the next phase of his career unfold at a more leisurely pace. "Momentum is a real fallacy, in my opinion," he says. "But it has a really strong hold on a lot of actors' mentalities. You really believe that while the ball's rolling, you gotta keep it rolling. I could be wrong, but to me — I just don't believe in that. I don't think that's real."
I guess we'll find out.
Evans laughs. "My last cover interview."
Here are some things we learned about Chris Evans, from what may or may not be his last cover interview:
He uses the word "pretentious" a lot, usually because he's worried something he's just said sounds pretentious, which it rarely does.
He will talk at length and in detail about himself, and his neuroses, and the conversations he has with himself about his neuroses.
He keeps it closer to the vest about other people. He mentions in passing that Justin Timberlake lives around here — "I think" — without mentioning that Timberlake lives around here with his wife, Jessica Biel, who was once Evans' girlfriend. Nor does he mention his former girlfriend Jenny Slate by name, although he occasionally says things about what it's like to hang out with a bunch of comedians, something he clearly knows because he dated Slate, on and off, for a while. They are off again, per the gossip pages; on Valentine's Day, a few weeks after we meet, Evans will tweet a picture of himself nuzzling Dodger and wish the best to his 10.6 million followers "from this pair of dysfunctional codependents."
Tumblr media
When asked how he functions in relationships, he says: "I'm the one who fears being enveloped. I was always a really autonomous guy my whole life. Camping by myself is one of my favorite things. I really like to be with someone who also has their own thing to do as well, you know? If I'm with someone who just kind of adopts my life, that can feel a bit suffocating."
Tumblr media
Evans and actress-comedian Jenny Slate, in 2016. At her urging, he read a collection of feminist essays, The Mother of All Questions. "You have to understand that you don’t understand," he says.
When he's not working or camping by himself, you can find Evans camped out on Twitter. He is extremely online in a way that actors who headline ultra-mainstream movie franchises tend not to be; on any given day, you can find @ChrisEvans quoting Idiocracy to mock President Trump's McDonald's buffet for the Clemson Tigers, signal-boosting tweets about gay purges in Chechnya, or addressing Sen. Lindsey Graham as "Smithers."
He worries about doing too much of this sort of thing, about it seeming performative or becoming white noise — Chris Evans, back on his bullshit. He does not worry about saying something online that might inspire MAGA-minded fans to microwave their Captain America action figures. And for what it's worth, he says, "Marvel has never said anything. On the contrary — when I bump into Kevin Feige the first thing out of his mouth is 'Man, I love what you're doing [on Twitter].'"
"I don't see it as trash-talking," says Feige, Marvel's president. "I see it as very astute, very honorable, very noble, very Cap-like. Commentary and questioning. I've said to him, 'You're merging! You and the character are merging!'"
Tumblr media
"I’d be disappointed in myself if I didn’t speak up. Especially for fear of some monetary repercussion or career damage — that just feels really gross to me."
Evans campaigned for Hillary Clinton in 2016; and while he has not decided on his 2020 candidate, his crusading use of his platform has made him a real-life superhero to a certain segment of the online #Resistance. Days after we talk, he pops up on Capitol Hill to do some bipartisan grip-and-grins with Senate Democrats Brian Schatz, Chris Coons and Jeff Merkley and Republican Lisa Murkowski. In March, he does the same at the House of Representatives. It turns out he's conducting interviews for A Starting Point, a politics website whose mission is "to create informed, responsible and empathetic citizens." He's a co-founder, along with the actor Mark Kassen and entrepreneur Joe Kiani; the launch date has yet to be announced.
While he's only visiting Congress for now, everyone jokes about him getting a job there someday. There's familial precedent; his uncle is former Massachusetts Representative Mike Capuano (who lost a hard-fought race to Ayanna Pressley, a progressive city councilwoman, in September). For now, Evans feels obligated to do what he can, even if it turns his social media mentions into a garbage fire.
"You don't want to alienate half your audience," says Evans. "But I'd be disappointed in myself if I didn't speak up. Especially for fear of some monetary repercussion or career damage — that just feels really gross to me."
His willingness to call bullshit on anyone abetting the disintegration of our republic extends to his home state's favorite sons. When we talk, Tom Brady is two days away from leading the New England Patriots to a sixth Super Bowl win; when I ask if the chance to play Brady in a biopic would bring him out of non-retirement retirement, he looks grim.
"I don't know," he says. "I really hope he's not a Trump supporter. I'm just hoping he's one of those guys that maybe supported him and now regrets it. Maybe he thought it was going to be different — and even that bothers me — but maybe there's a chance now he just thinks Trump's an absolute dumb shit, which he is. If he doesn't, if he's still on that Trump train, I might have to cut ties. It's really tough."
"I think maybe a couple of years ago," he continues, "I might have tried to pull some, like, mental gymnastics to compartmentalize, but I don't know if I can anymore. So I'm just hoping he's woken up."
Tumblr media
Evans has a platform and he's using it. But like a lot of straight white men seeking to consciously and conscientiously navigate a tumultuous moment in the history of straight white male-dom, he's learned that shutting up is important, too. At Slate's urging, he read Rebecca Solnit's The Mother of All Questions, a collection of essays about the insidious side effects of patriarchy, and took away a great deal. "You have to understand that you don't understand," he says. It's not the most action-heroish way to look at things — but that may be the secret of his appeal as a movie star.
"At the root of it, he has true humility," says Robert Downey Jr., who's played Tony Stark against Evans five times. "I think it's the reason he was able to kind of come to the front and be our team leader in the Avengers. I think a lot of his theater experience helped, too. Because it was like, 'OK, I'm going to dress up, I'm going to go out, and I'm going to tell the truth.' It's very kind of old-school Spencer Tracy. Although I guarantee you Spencer Tracy never would've put on that getup."
Unsurprisingly, Evans blows off discussion of his own goodness. "The characters I play do a lot of that heavy lifting. If people knew me — I'm just an asshole."
He seems a little uncomfortable. I change the subject by asking him to tell me what happens at the end of Avengers: Endgame. Evans laughs. "Yeah," he says. "I wish I could. Uh, it's — I mean — it's a good one. It's a real good one. I saw, like, the first hour of it."
Tumblr media
So you watched it up to the point where Cap dies?
"Right, exactly," Evans says. "After I die by Tony's hand, I just said, You know what? I can't watch this."
I should make it clear that this is a joke, even if it feels like the kind of joke that could turn out to be true. "I can't believe they even cut together a trailer," he says, "because so much of it is a visual spoiler. You'll see. A lot of the characters have"—
He stops, covering his mouth.
"Probably shouldn't have even said that," he says.

OLD ASKS
These are OLD asks and we wanted to publish them to make sure our followers had a chance to voice their opinions. Please note that these are from our anons and may not necessarily reflect the opinions of us here at the blog. Have a nice day ❤️ Queen
Serious and passionate? You mean like the pics at Disney, where he wouldn't even sit w you?
Look at this ridiculous article. It's about how everyone wants to be Jenny Slate and she is the "queen" of dating in Hollywood because she went from Chris Evans to Jon Hamm. The article even goes on to quote some of Jenny's fans. One said she is too good for Chris and Jon. Made me sick. newstatesman why-are-we-surprised-see-jenny-slate-movies-jon-hamm
I don't see them getting back together. Even if the relationship was "passionate", that seems to be the height of it. Not stable. Very toxic. She seems to be trying to play grown up and they played house for a year, but that's not actually serious. He seems happier away from her. It's like she's a drain on people's energy. It's always about her and she only speaks about changing so she can stay relevant. Splitsville was their last destination.
Nah. I don't believe that JS is saying that she wants Chris to have him back. She still speaks about their relationship and till today, is his only ex that exposed him after the break up. Chris knows how to filter what he tells about his life, just gives little information and keeps repenting the same stories and knows to keep his privacy. She overshares and will keep doing that. He can have children with any other woman, he doesn't have to come back with JS for that.
There's one thing that really seems odd to me like in every interview js says at the time of making this movie at the time of the relationship I was going through divorce truth is they didn't file for divorce till first week of May last year and she was so lazy to move head with proceedings of divorce which only finalised this year so my point is Is it too hard for her to just say she was separated
You guys give JS too much credit. She clearly lies-her father said that. She clearly tricks people-she's said that. She clearly tweets mean things-we've documented that. There was no passion-the pictures said that. She's an actress who pretends for a living. Don't get hung up in her I'm turning over a new leaf routine. She'll contradict herself in the next act. If nothing else she's consistent on being inconsistent.
Why does she take everything so personally she's one of those aggressive so called feminist she's like i am not gonna follow religion made by man i feel insulted to be asked to audition i don't need anyone's permission and in every interview in which she's talking about her relationship somehow she always ends up talking about sex its like she wants people to know that she slept with Chris
Ariel you said it perfectly!!! I also noticed how she talks about Chris more than her ex husband. She only uses the divorce for sympathy but with Chris she keeps going on about how serious and passionate they were, and describing Chris in a loving way but not Dean. Also funny how she keeps bringing up how she was scared Chris pursued her (lol) as an "experiment" but she's the one that kept showing him off like a shiny new toy that she wanted everyone to know she had
I get what that anon was saying about Chris now saying you have to have a solid relationship before kids. I always got the feeling before that kids were more important then the relationship to him, in a couple of interviews he mentioned he wanted kids first then added that he had to be married after and it just didn't sound important to him. I think that is because of Jenny I think she wanted kids but their relationship was crappy.
I still side eye Chris for being the other man, but I don't blame him for staying with JS once they got together (although I'm glad they're over). I dated a guy who seemed perfect for me – we “threw down hard” at first and it was intense. If someone had asked me the first months, I would've said we were soulmates / “the same animal.” As the shiny-newness wore off, I saw the guy for what he was but it took me over a year to end things. 1/2
2/2 I wanted that "early relationship version" was the real guy. Facing reality and ending it was emotionally rough but it made me realize why everyone’s like “don’t rush into marriage.” Lust is the ultimate rose-colored glasses. Maybe it’s b/c of my experience, but I feel like the same thing happened with Chris and JS.
1/2 I don't think there are any chances of CE and JS ever getting back together. He was partying at the super bowl, calling women beautiful at the Oscar's, jumping of airplanes, doing pap walks with Dodger and going out with his friends after the break up. That seems a guy that is enjoying his life and working on cleaning his image, because although his career was not damaged and he's still popular, his team and he know what many were talking inside his fandom and that his relationship made
2/2 many question who he is and his actions. I don't think he will ever get back to that, because if their relationship ended, it was because it was not worthy.
"I was with my ex-husband for nine years then I was in a very serious relationship that was passionate for a year" - it's funny how she keeps going on about the divorce for sympathy but then when she talks about the relationship, she makes those 9 years seem like nothing while her relationship with Chris was so serious and passionate 🙄 she keeps trying to sell their relationship as a fairytale but we could all see that Chris looked miserable most of the time
Just out of curiosity, what makes you believe Chris treated Jenny badly? Can't think of anything other than the fact that he didn't talk about her but they did call the paparazzi on themselves so it's not like he was hiding her (if anyone thinks Chris doesn't have anything to do with that, you're in denial)
For people saying JB was his best girlfriend… Maybe but i think It’s just because it was his first love, he was young. He stayed few years together contrary to the others girls hé had in his life But they were break up and there is a reason for that. We must not rely on appearances. She also plays the perfect wife with Justin. I wonder if they did not break because they were too competing without meaning to. She declared “in the business we are all very career oriented and you have to be a little selfish and if you can’t find that and someone who shares the same values as you It’s like :SCORE”. And in despite of a lot pictures where they are in love i saw few where Chris is set back during premieres or event where journalist only have eyes for Jessica, a little like the boyfriend who hold the bag of his famous girlfriend, nobody cares of you, everybody know you like the boyfriend of and not Chris Evans: actor.
Let me jump on the Chris and Jenny thing here: Iost definitely do not think there would ever be a go back. Unlike with Minks, Jenny is such a needy ass that it's hard to fathom him ever going back for a repeat performance with her -- and believe me it was a "performance" of him having to be with her bc he did a LOT OF ACTING. ~SJB Anon
If Jenny had not been from Boston, I do not think he would have had her meet his friends and family back out in Boston so soon. That is where the relationship to his loved ones differ from that of his ex-girlfriends. There was no way he could have postponed those introductions even if he wanted to. That is why it may have been the same reason he could not end it once he was tapped out of the relationship since she is from Boston in addition to the fact that he did not have a work related excuse.
I am the anon who submitted the details interview in response to others asking for it, but my response somehow did not separate from the print.
I was saying that the ex girlfriend Lisa was referring to may have not been Biel but either Christina Ricci or Minka Kelly looking specifically at the timeline and that since this interview was done in early 2012 it could have been that they were talking about Minka. This could have been why Minka reached out to him which led to them getting back together in the summer of 2012. There is no other reason for her reaching out in 2012 because the excuse of the fans that do not like her always say that she reached out to him because of the success of Captain America but that makes no sense since she could have reached out after after she broke up with Jeter in 2011, the same year Captain America: The First Avenger was released. It would explain why Minka and Lisa were, and continue to still be, close since 2007. Remember that Lisa has always been there for Minka after she lost her mother.
As for the dating timeline of Chris and Minka,
-summer of 2007
-summer of 2012 to early spring 2014 with a breakup in September 2013 that lasted a few months due to filming
-fall 2015
-fall 2016
Jessica Biel
Here is a article about Chris and Lisa talking about “Jessica”
Mom: And can I say all the girls you’ve brought to the house have been very sweet and wonderful? Of course, those are the ones that make it to the house. It’s been a long time, hasn’t it?
Chris: Looooong time.
Mom: The last one at our house? Was it six years ago?
Chris: No names, Ma!
Mom: But she knocked it out of the park.
Chris: She got drunk and puked at Auntie Pam’s house! And she puked on the way home and she puked at our place.
Mom: And that’s when I fell in love with her. Because she was real. We’re operating under a no-names rule, so I’m not asking if it’s Jessica Biel who made this memorable first impression. She and Evans were serious for a couple of years. But I don’t want to picture lovely Jessica Biel getting sick at Auntie Pam’s or in the car or, really, anywhere.
http://thechrisevansblog.blogspot.com/2012/06/avengers-chris-evans-just-your-average.html
As far as bringing his mom and family to the SLOP premiere I saw that as using them as a buffer. He knew he was in a messy situation and needed help. Same goes for having his friends around her. Her meeting them wasnt cuz she was special it was damage control and diversion. His family and friends are loyal and will do whatever he needs them to do.
I really hope has learned his lesson when it comes to women. After Minka and Jenny I can't help think that his next gf will have to know how to handle a bunch of emotional crap caused by these 2 last bad experiences, not to mention Chris own insecurities and emotional stuff. Who ever she will, I wish her good luck and a lot of patience!
This is a New York Times article from her earlier movie. Couldn’t resist sharing:
“She is a contradiction in terms this Jenny Slate, a woman who went to Columbia University but announced on Seth Meyers this week that she took astronomy there thinking it was astrology. She seems to be playing constantly with a Madonna/whore-bimbo/valedictorian dichotomy, which also helps explain why she managed both to get hired by the now relatively family friendly show “Saturday Night Live” and then didn’t get asked back for a second season after she swore on the air. (Ms. Slate has said since then that they didn’t embrace her ideas as a woman.)
If only she could get out of the theater where the panel took place. Film-studies majors walked over to pay their respects. Photographers snapped away. A young woman stood nearby with Ms. Slate’s schedule. “I’m just glad that there were no questions from the audience,” Ms. Slate, 32, said later, finally ensconced in a town car with Ms. Robespierre and Ms. Holm as they headed over the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway toward Henry Public, a bar and restaurant in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. “We called on someone at another screening who said ‘thank you for “Bridesmaids.” ’ I was like ‘I guess you’re welcome but we didn’t do that.’ ”
The car approached the restaurant and the women stepped out, paused for a cigarette and then walked inside toward a booth in the back.
Ms. Slate seemed particularly excited about two things.
First, she didn’t have to pay for anything. “We got cash from our babysitters,” she said, referring to the movie’s promotion team. “Yea!”
Second, she said, “The drinks are very strong.”
Over cocktails, deviled eggs and bone marrow, conversation veered into R-rated territory with Ms. Slate mostly on center stage.
She discussed why having a drink is preferable to getting stoned before doing standup, then addressed toilet activities.
“I think there were a bunch of really scared adults who were like ‘Don’t talk about poop’ and then the kids became adults and they were like ‘We want to, actually,’ ” said Ms. Slate, who talks with the giddy enthusiasm of an 8-year-old still discovering the idiosyncrasies of the human body.
The rollout of the movie also came up. Ms. Slate has been amused by the experience of having so many hand-holders around her. “I wonder what it feels like to be an actress who needs a publicist around to protect you all the time,” she said, sounding both horrified and curious about the prospect.
Around 11, they finished their food and drinks, and Ms. Slate began to get wistful.
“I don’t know what we’re going to do when we’re done with this,” she said. “I feel like it’s the end of camp.”
“It is the end of camp,” Ms. Robespierre said. “But we’re adults. We can do this as long as we want. As long as we have investors.”
“I want another Negroni,” Ms. Holm said.
“Me, too,” said Ms. Slate, summoning the waiter. “Three Negronis.”
A version of this article appears in print on June 22, 2014, on Page ST9 of the New York edition with the headline: Mixing It Up? But of Course!

Why surprise celebrity gossip is the best celebrity gossip
New Post has been published on http://gr8gossip.xyz/why-surprise-celebrity-gossip-is-the-best-celebrity-gossip/
Why surprise celebrity gossip is the best celebrity gossip
IF THERE’S ONE thing I live for, it’s good gossip. Gossip that makes you exclaim, ‘Gway.’ Gossip that must be shared with the Whatsapp group immediately. Gossip you didn’t see coming at all.
Over the past year, we have been treated to a heap of genuinely surprising celebrity gossip. Pregnancies, relationships, and weddings have been kept private only to then be unveiled to the public like a new bronze statue.
‘Surprise! Anna Kournikova and Enrique Iglesias Just Had Twins’. Twins, you say? They won’t be able to hide, run or escape their love! ‘Amy Schumer Is Married! See Photos From Her Surprise Wedding’. A surprise wedding and photos? Click. ‘How Rachel McAdams Kept Her Pregnancy a Secret Before Welcoming Baby Boy’. For the love of God, tell me!
The last few months have been even more exhilarating. First came the bombshell that not only was Michelle Williams dating musician Phil Elverum, but she had in fact married him in an intimate ceremony in upstate New York. Then came the news that Rashida Jones had ‘secretly’ given birth to Ezra Koenig’s baby. (A boy, Isaiah.) While I was still recovering from that revelation, I learned that indie film darlings Zoe Kazan and Paul Dano had also welcomed a secret baby. (A girl, Alma.)
Now I know that this is all rather niche stuff and that I am probably one of about seventeen people who truly care about Zoe Kazan and Paul Dano’s baby girl. (Side-note: can you imagine how many prairie dresses this child already owns?) But it does point to a trend: namely that more and more celebrities are making a concerted effort to keep their  business out of the public eye.
In February of this year, Kylie Jenner announced that she had given birth to daughter Stormi. For months prior, she had kept people guessing as to whether she was even pregnant, throwing fans off the scent by posting old photos of herself on Instagram. Following the birth of her daughter, she posted a statement outlining why she had chosen to eschew publicity and keep her pregnancy private.
“I’m sorry for keeping you in the dark through all the assumptions,” she wrote. “I understand you’re used to me bringing you along on all my journeys. My pregnancy was one I chose not to do in front of the world. I knew for myself I needed to prepare for this role of a lifetime in the most positive, stress free, and healthy way I knew how.”
Jenner’s decision to withhold news of her pregnancy from fans was unusual in that it seemed at odds with how she had lived the rest of her life. After all, this is a young woman who spent her formative years on reality television and was later such a powerful social media user that she managed to kill Snapchat with a single tweet. That she consciously chose to keep that sweet pregnancy content from her adoring fans was commendable, if perplexing.
But there was method in her madness. After keeping everyone on tenterhooks and allowing wild conspiracy theories to percolate for so long, her birth announcement turned out to be a genuinely surprising and satisfying ending. “So that’s why she was hiding from us!”
In an age where celebrities are more accessible than ever, there is something refreshing about stars going off the grid only to emerge months later with a newborn baby or a wedding ring. Even more impressive is when they have been tweeting or Instagramming away in plain sight without once alluding to their pregnancy or engagement. (I still have the utmost respect for Busy Philipps not spilling the beans on Michelle Williams’ marriage.)
Plus if Rashida Jones and Ezra Koenig are out here secretly dating and procreating, then who knows what else is happening right under our noses? Maybe Jenny Slate will step out with someone from Bon Iver. Maybe Mindy Kaling and BJ Novak are happily married. Maybe Grimes will break up Rupert Murdoch and Jerry Hall. Who knows? The possibilities are endless.
God, I love gossip.
