As a standalone story Neo is great. I love Rindo and how relatable he is in his tendency to be stuck in analysis paralysis and flunking in his position as supposed leader as a result, and how he evenfually grew past that and learnt from his mistakes. He's an example of a realistic, non-exaggerated depiction of someone with anxiety and I appreciate that. Gameplay is quite fun and surprisingly complex with combos, eventhough it doesn't impress me as much as I did the first time I played the original DS twewy (it could be because of my age though, anything hardly impressed me nowadays) the supporting cast are colorful and great, though personally I think it suffers a bit with the issues a large cast usually brings.

My criticism of Neo mostly came from it being treated as 'supposedly' a follow up to A New Day (though to be fair, I just kept thinking how necessary A New Day was) anything that had to do with Neku is downright concerning and it wasn't exactly Neo's fault per se but more like A New Day being the way it was.

It's quite minor, but totally not a fan on how the story treated Rhyme and Shiki and the scene where Neku and Beat outright admitted they actively tried to not get them involved because they're just trying to protect the girls. Not saying it doesn't make sense for them to be overprotective, but as someone who spent a lot of time researching how female characters are often treated in media this scene ended up tainting my trust in neo's writers when it comes to their supposed knowledge on how to treat their female characters right. This scene made sense when it comes to Beat being overprotective towards Rhyme, but the moment they also brought up Shiki and treated her the same way is where I threw hands. The boys didn't even try to acknowledge that Shiki had proven herself to be a competent fighter in her own right and had fought alongside them before and how she might turn out to be a great help if only she wasn't currently busy, but nope they downright just dismissed her potential and thought it'd be too much for her. I know it's supposed to be well-meaning, but still left a very bad taste in my mouth given Shiki's screentime later ended up revolving a little too much around Neku. This scene alone had me a little anxious of any sort of story involving the original cast as a result (be it in a prequel or sequel) because it's kinda showcasing the writers' seeming dismissal to the girls' potentials as more proactive members of the story (the lack of acknowledgement to Shiki's prowess as a fighter is indicative of this given how easy it is to just include it)

Overall, Neo makes for a great game and story as a stand-alone, its attempts to be some sort of follow up (and supposedly a resolution) to the previous instalment on the other hand is where things get a little muddled and can't really say if they did a really great job at it.

desiblr being unwelcoming for a while isn't exactly true for some ppl but it is for most and this is once again a tumblr problem (a lot of people who come here eventually leave cause they can't understand it and the ones that stay are the ones who are reading this)

people just agreeing with the mainstream thoughts and not thinking for themselves is a tumblr problem not a desiblr problem

people not interacting outside of their circle of mutuals (this is completely fine btw i don't interact outside of my circle either) is a tumblr thing not a desiblr thing

why is it necessary to point this out?

just to inform you that even if you leave desiblr you will have to deal with this shit unless you leave tumblr as a whole

and discourses always turn ugly. i am not surprised at the unwillingness of people to let this drop and forget about it. but so many people are and just - what the fuck were you expecting? this isn't instagram or twitter. if you just hardblock/unmutual and move on without insulting the shit out of a person you aren't seen as mature but you are seen as weak or stupid. people don't want to be blocked but irl if someone doesn't like you they avoid you right? they don't insult you and this is an arrangement that works out fine so why is it such a bad thing to be blocked? there will always be people who don't like you so would you rather be insulted?

people who disagree with this are primarly members of desiblr and not tumblr

and there is a difference between the two

what makes this even toxic is the fact that literally everyone can see your posts no matter what you do, if someone tries they will track your 'mutual only' blog down where you thing its alright to talk shit because it can't whirl out of your circle 'consented' people, people with context for the things you say that look rude to anyone without it. Its not an inside joke if you want everyone to laugh about it, its a baseless comment.

and how??? do you leave??? desiblr???? you stop interacting with desi bogs? stop talking about yourself? stop being desi? desiblr isn't a fandom, its an identity (unless you are ashamed of it, then thats on you)

The reason why stop talking to my dad is my only concern because he put me through some shit to deal with...the moment i realize he just acts on his own point of view, is when i get to know i should probably stop talking to him rather than showing his words and actions hurt me.

I only talk to my brother when it’s necessary just because i know how he does things in a so inappropriate manner when someone's contradiction happens to him. So i know there's no point for me to make him understand that you really have to listen before you act. And i choose to keep myself stop to the point since then.

I only talk to my mom every now and then because even though we had our arguments even though we get mad on each other sometimes even though she talks ill about me. She's the only safest person to me. I know that she won't make me feel like an asshole when she knows I'm going through struggle. That only person i can rely on is her.

After being ended with my bad marriage scenario there was nobody beside me except my family (mom dad and my brother) they stood by me like a shade of tree but then sometimes when any arguments hit upon them or me... They started to blame me for that divorce thing..at some point they do say others or agree that i was mentally physically emotionally abused by my ex partner, but for certain time when they feel their opinion contradicts with mine they started to put disobedient tag on me. Eventhough it’s just a normal argument about putting shoes on the reck (just an example). I mean this much little occurrences can be related to me being put an end on my marriage.

I stopped giving explanation to the people who talks behind my back the worst way possible. Which lead me to have much truma since my divorce. I am still struggling to get over from my divorce but nobodys gonna get it until they go through the same page.

I scored so brilliant result on my bachelors the i got listed for deans honor award. I used to be so ambitious towards my future. But that 1year just took all my hopes with it. I used to love that guy so much that i didn’t realize i was abused i took things as a normal couple thing which was my biggest mistake.

Now when i look back to my past i feel grateful that it was over as well as i feel traumatized that i had go through so much that i didn’t deserve.

Everyone around me gone too far with their life that i feel like I'm the only one left behind. Is it a curse or blessing? Don't know whatever it is.. It doesn’t help me anyway.

People tell me i should be grateful that got out from a person who could possibly kill me if it stays any longer.

I am grateful for being alive. But other than that there's nothing i have to be grateful for. What should i be grateful for? Being jobless? Being divorced? Being hopeless? Or being unhappy, mentally stressed woman? Who gets her breakdown every now and then.. I can't react to people when they utter anything wrong instead i cry.. People say crying is a sense of weakness and i don't feel ashamed to be weak because i know what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Even technically its hard for me.

I am still unsure where is my direction. I wanted to be happily married, corporate independent woman who dream to have taste of being a mother.

But my life turned out completely opposite.

I just Don't know how to start because everytime i start i fail..then i start again then fail again. Sometimes i feel this much depressed that being alive doesn’t make any sense to me.

But i still choose to alive because i know killing ownself is a sin in my religion. And I respect my Almighty.

To be very honest i choose silence over voice because i know i can't be heard to my surroundings. Isn't that weird? I always imagined to be the voice of truth and knowledge. But now I'm muted.

Life is unfair for some people like us. Even though it’s sounds like a high school girl but i say it is what it is..unfiltered.. But i guess we still choose to live or survive.

Why s5 *might* be the season MacRiley happens

Okay so...Hear me out! I'm not crazy I promise!!

Firstly, after 5x03 (and probably 5x04) it may seem very unlikely that MacRiley could ever happen. But I thought of a few reasons why they might actually happen by the end of s5 after all.... (it gets a lil long winded and kinda complicated but just stick with me till the end!)

1. All the MacRiley moments including the ones in 5x03.

[this Mac smile could not be an accident or something that slipped through both production and post-production right?! that in itself is a whole reason!]

Every Macriley moment we have ever had- whether it's the hugs, Riley saving Mac, Mac saving Riley, the ultimate show of loyalty when Riley went after Mac during Codex or even just the looks exchanged between the two- to any outsider it would seem pretty obvious that they are dating or at least in love. Keep in mind the writers would have written each of those scenes and Lucas and Tristan have acted them out with a specific build up in mind aka MacRiley.(think about the date episode: Riley just got dumped but was still thinking about how Mac might be hungry. She didnt have to do that. She could have just shown up at his place..) I mean how can they write two people so perfectly in sync and so perfect for each other and not have them end up together? It would just be a waste of all that tension and slow burn. (not to mention all the hugs and glances)

2. They know we exist.

The MacRiley fam is very active on twitter with the writers and while they were writing 5x01 they knew we were around. They know we are a huge group. They would not want to risk pissing 90% of the fandom off by not making MacRiley endgame.

[P.S.yes 5x03 was a bait and switch but if you were paying attention you would have noticed that neither Lucas not Tristan live tweeted or hyped up the episode. They knew we would probably hate it so they didnt publicise it too much! so in the future if you have doubts about the episode being a MacRiley one just check their stories or posts on twitter/intstagram]

3. Yes 5x03 happened.

I really think it was an episode they HAD to write. Ok so after 4x13 they had 7 more episodes planned and were filming 4x20 (aka the finale) when the pandemic struck. So they have these 6 episodes but no finale for it. [Idk if anyone else has noticed but in 5x01 there were clearly some parts cut out. For example the conversation between Desi and Riley towards the end seemed a bit jilted. Riley asking Desi to forgive her but Desi replied with yeah we are cool (still no apology ofc) I feel like something happened during that which ended up getting cut out so it could fit with the final story.]

This makes me think that they have rewritten a few bits to tie into the new finale episode. In 5x03 when Mac asked Desi to come fishing with him which was clearly something very personal to him she was like no do better.. then we see Mac's disappointed expression. She could have easily said okay but maybe not for our first date? Or its not really my thing? Or just about anything else rather than laughing in his face like that. Eventhough MD is together they still arent compatible. Mac’s final words in 5x03 was him being desperate. I truly think he is so broken and lost that Desi is the only safe thing left, the only thing he feels like he can fix right now. Once he finds himself again and heals...then it's going to hit him like a pile of bricks!!

4. But Riley doesn't have feelings anymore...WELL doesnt she?

When it comes to Mac, Riley is always in denial. We saw it in s4 when she tells Bozer not to make her say it. I think s5 will show her finally accepting it. Finally accepting that she is in love with her best friend and that it definitely isnt Codex adrenaline because she caught the feels when Codex wasnt even around. While Mac's arc would include realising he and Desi are never going to work and that he is unhappy and that RILEY is the one for him.

[why else would they give Riley feelings for Mac? Something has to come of it.]

5. The slow burn rule.[this point is a lil complicated]

Now season 5 is rumoured to have 13 episodes. So here’s what I think: If MacGyver follows the pattern that most shows do when it comes to slow burns, then technically MacRIley should have happened at the end of season 4. But since the season got cut short and they didnt get to air/finish their final episode the writers had to improvise.

From what I know, 4x19 which is 5x04 for us is the episode where Mac meets Desi’s parents and 4x20 was supposed to be the finale that was left unfinished.(they are definitely moving the timeline ahead if a pre finale episode is suddenly a mid season one.) There might have been a 4x21 or 4x22 but I haven't heard anything about those....EVER.

So what I think they have decided to do instead is extend the MD storyline a bit longer just so they dont end up scrapping all their s4 episodes where they would be together and write a new finale that ties everything together, aka MacRiley.

If you think about episode counts, s4 and s5 together would have 26 episodes which is a how long a normal season runs. Basically what im trying to say is if we follow the ‘slow burns end by s4’ and take season 5 as an extension of 4 then MacRiley should get together in the season 5 finale or maybe the episode just before. (IM REALLY TRYING TO GET SOME LOGIC INTO THIS)

This would be a typical TV thing too where the couple finds out about each other’s feelings while the main arc of the show is also at its peak, which perfectly sets up a future season where fans are hyped but still has a satisfying ending.

6. So what about MacDesi?

So far the macgyver writers have given us characters we love. Think of every character on the show apart from maybe Desi... Mac, Riley, Bozer, Jack, Matty, Leanna, Samantha, Russ and even Murdoc. WE LOVE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. So then why is Desi such a strange character? I think shes purposely been written as an opposite to Mac or even Riley (I get she’s supposed to kinda replace Jack but Jack is really irreplaceable).

It's not necessarily a bad thing its just not a great thing to do or have great execution. People have said things like Desi is a badass and shouldnt have to apologise or say I love you back to her boyfriend because she is a strong woman...I'm sorry but your opinion of who a strong woman is, is EXTREMELY skewed. A strong woman is someone who can make mistakes and when she does, she is ‘strong’ enough to own up to it, she is loyal and fierce and also caring while being a badass who can take down bad guys. And for GODS SAKE, RILEY DAVIS IS A STRONG WOMAN...people have called her mushy and feminine on twitter and I'm just very confused by that.....

Anyways before I go off on a rant, it seems like Desi is intentionally being written this way. Every opportunity they get to redeem her and make her more relatable or just a better person they just dont take it. While Rileys character arc is one of the best I've ever seen. Either its intentional or they’ve forgotten how to write characters...which is worrisome but ill give them the benefit of the doubt.

The writers also know we dont like Desi. The amount of times we've tagged them in the toxic posts or pointed out problematic things we can be sure they've seen at least half of those. So theres no way they dont know. RIGHT?

So why then is MD still a thing you may ask??

Well for one they cant break them up again off screen because of those unreleased s4 episodes. (not to mention the other parts of the audience who arent as invested in mac’s love life would probably be very confused.)

Secondly Mac has to be the one to pull the plug, not Desi. 4x13 made it seem like Desi was the annoyed one not Mac. He apologised to her which meant he wanted to fix things.

Thirdly, they are opening the chpt one last time before they permanently close it. MD is going to be a stark contrast to macriley(it already is in every way possible). Every issue Mac and Desi had can be used to show how amazing macriley really is as two people who arent even dating yet.

Fourthly, MD being together is a sort of commentary on Macs mental health as well. We can see how happy he is with Riley but around Desi he becomes some one else. If the writers are doing this on purpose or subconsciously still remains to be seen.

And Yes keeping MD around for a few more episodes seems like a necessary risk right now but I have a feeling its going to be worth it later.

[I know we have had like 4 desi entered episodes already but I really think 5x04 will be the last of it since 5x05 is the Jack episode and 5x06 is Mac+Riley+Bozer episode with no mention of Desi at all!]

The writers know we are a dedicated bunch and they know that once MD breaks up for the last time the entire fandom will be waiting and watching. That's when the show will be at its peak. That will be the perfect moment to bring in MacRiley’s arc to a new start!

Drama Review: Vincenzo

Welcome to my first drama review in 2021. In this opportunity I want to talk about the newest drama of Song Joong Ki, Vincenzo.

Okay. From the first picture we can see that the drama is dark, too much horrible scene in drama, very heavy genre to watched. That's exactly my first impression and expectation for this drama.

During a visit to his motherland, a Korean-Italian mafia lawyer gives an unrivaled conglomerate a taste of its own medicine with a side of justice.

Even we can see from the synopsis, the drama will be dark and heavy topic will be carried in this drama. I was hesitated to start this drama, but honestly I tried this drama because of Joongki ha ha ha. Wow the drama really beyond my expectation. I love it so much! Honestly, I started to love it around Episode 4 and started to think this drama is really interesting. I think the introduction a little bit too slow to get into the main story but if I think again it is necessary to build the nice story in Vincenzo. But to be honest when I watched Episode 1-2 there are times that I think this drama is too long and made me sleepy, and when Episode 4 came damn!!!! I was like this is so cool??? this is my kind of drama?!?! I love the main character so much!!! Eventhough the story is actually serious and dark, I love how the writer and PD nim can wrapped this drama into an exciting drama, funny drama so the audience won't get bored watching this drama and won't get too serious and furious but enjoying this drama. They also make a few plot twist that will be revealed one by one so the audience will not get bored with the plot. I also love how they make Vincenzo have many different looks just because he had his hair different.

We can see how Vincenzo when he get serious and his Mafia mode is on like in the first picture. Then we can see Vincenzo in his relax activity with all his hair down, and how he looks when he carried a mission (psst if you know what a mission he must do while riding a horse ㅋㅋㅋㅋ). Sometimes Vincenzo can be cute too.

This picture above show one of my favorite episode of Vincenzo. I was laughing hard watching this episode. This episode that makes me want to recommend this drama to everyone. Like this is a serious drama, but you can make this episode too. I think I will re-watch this episode😂. When talking about Vincenzo, we can't forget about the other support characters. I love this drama because they make every one of the character is important. They all have their stories and have important role in this drama. At firsr, Vincenzo is trying to get the gold that buried under the building so he must interact with Geumga Plaza residents, but in the end the most precious things that he got are not the gold, but a new family.

I really love how every characters turned out have a secret and how writer nim packed their story to be unrevealed one by one with the plot twist and how it helped Vincenzo to meet their goals. When we talking about Vincenzo, we can't forget about our handsome and cool villains of course. First, we have Jang Han Seo that introduced first as Vincenzo and Cha Young first enemy, and turned back to become one of their squad in the end. Jang Han Seo really have the best character development in this drama.

You'll be missed, the not-smart-but-in-the-end-a-smart-dongsaeng, Jang Han Seo.

Not like his brother, the brain of this villain things, Jang Han Seok played by Taecyeon. Taecyeon really portrayed his character really well. Started as an Cha Young intern, has a bubbly and kind personality, turned out he's an evil psycopath.

He's really the worst. with his partner, Choi Myung Hee. Both are the worst. And I love how Vincenzo made them pay for all their sins. Please watch it if you want to know what happens to them!

Not just about the revenge, thanks to writer and PDnim, they also gave us a little romance in it. Really little romance, but I'm satisfied. Thanks too for the ending. It's funny when Vincenzo and Cha Young had to do a mission,and turned out they trapped in romance mission.

This episode like a turnover and the audience didn't see this coming because of a mission ㅋㅋ But thanks mission, you got us this sweet scene.

Overall, I really love this drama and it becomes one of my favorite drama in 1st quarter of 2021. I give it 4.5 of 5 star for this drama! Really recommended if you need laughter and funny drama but also have a serious plot. If you love antihero character, you will love it!

THE KING: ETERNAL MONARCH EP 6, My Appreciation and How It Made Me Feel

First appreciation of the beginning of episodes was the cinematography, the camera movements following PM getting out of car, and how they shoot 3 of them standing in front of KU building, they put a lot of effort and i appreciate that, aesthetic and necessary. I agree with what JTE said, Corea is a country you only see in fairy tale. I think they succeeded in making both country (Corea and Korea) have a different vibes. At least i can see the difference clearly. Traditional and Modern.

The scene inside the helicopter also my favorite, Gon and JTE PDA moment alongside with secretary Mo and JY facial expressions, i can feel them tough. Its probably the first time they saw their king do it. The backsound violin for this scene also not included in the official ost, i wonder why they robbed me like this 😅

Personally, i love kitchen a lot since i love to cook. Then here we got a chance to see the royal kitchen, and its pretty. All the plates, the knife, everything has Corea logo and how they show all of it in zoom in was incredible. Im amazed how comfortable and fancy it is. Gon is here to make meals for JTE but involved in a deep conversation because they speak not only what happen this day but about Lee Rim. The piano backsound that i loved fill the air in this scene, it definitely took me deeper into their conversation. Amazing.

JTE asked Gon to show her id because she needs to go home. I love JTE! No matter how glorious this world or this man in front of him, she need to go home. Fav JTE line “i cant beat that person anyway, whoever it is, that person must be from this world” im a bit mellow hearing it from her and seeing Gon facial expression. Fav Gon line “i have been carrying it around ever since you came here. I didnt show it to you because im afraid you will leave. But, you’ve already gone somewhere much further away than your world” i can hear Gon’s helpless voice here, and it breaks my heart.

JTE thinks its not make any sense that her ID exist in his world for 25 years. He told JTE how he get it and told her that his memory fading away but he feels that, that person will appear to him someday. “Because that person is either the beginning or the end of all this. It seems like a difficult question to solve, but there must be a simple and beautiful formula for it. And you are the answer i have been looking for” 👏🏼 im actually amaze on how KES make the line for Gon always related to his science guy background. Because that words of him about formula also said by Stephen Hawking which is also a science guy. And i think i also hear it in good will hunting. All science guy who knows physics or math must have this thinking. Loved the detail 💕

Just in time JTE about to go back to her world, a potential war with Japan. As Gon explain back in earlier episode, Corea has always in a brink of war with Japan. And its happening now. This war scene is actually shows how cool and good PM is at work. She is smart and brave to fight for the country, even with a room full of man that underestimated her. And actually she and Gon could make a power couple 😬 Gon is also a cool king though, i love his strategy here but im also as worried as Lady Noh on what danger could he got from involving directly in the war.

JTE ID is missing. Theres a thief in the palace. But Gon thinks about it differently, he thinks the thing that happens was meant to be and all set in motion 25 years ago. Im curious about it too. More homework for the audience 😎

I appreciate this camera movement of moment when JTE stand in front of Gon. The camera focus shot the King robe first then move the focus to Gon, as if they want to show us how JTE saw that this is one of his real responsibility as a King. That he is real.

Gon gave JTE the ID card of her that he has from 25 years ago. Gon promise to come back to her with honor. And this conversation was a bit farewell like and it still hurt

JTE “온다고?” (You said you will be back?)

Gon “기다려 줄 건가?” (Will you wait for me?)

JTE nods

JTE “또보자, 이곤” (lets meet again, Lee Gon)

Then Gon said “i thought my name was not supposed to be spoken, but i guess it was only supposed to be spoken by you”

This song “my love and i” is seriously sad. Give some sad premonition. Also imagine going back home while knowing that the person you care about was about to face danger in a war. I think this war was 1 of JTE turning point. She only can do 1 thing, wait. With no certainty whether Gon is really going to come back? Is he okay? Hows the war? . Not a single information she can get. She also describe herself as someone that never holding her phone as if she is waiting for someone. Until now 🥺 i kind of relate a lot with this feelings, it is the worst long distance someone could ever did. Thank god parallel world not real

I found the almost war with Japan scene is great though. Maybe because im not Korean, so i dont found any mistake here and also scene like this is not something related to real relation in real world. It was oftenly made in a fiction movie though. Just my opinion. This scene, the cinematography, the words, the dialogue and the messages conveyed well. I loved it. It is in line with the situation in Corea. Also i think 1 of the reason they choose this way to show Kings duty is also because their Kindom located in Busan and known as city near the sea, means they are the first protector of the sea. I also love the detail of statue yi sun sin as a symbol of power and they put it facing the sea. WOW.

As predicted, with good strategy. Corea won.

While the war and stuff happens in Corea, JTE is back with her daily activity as a detective and to an unsolved yet Lee Sang Do’s case, but with a new habit, waiting. I love how she was looking at the fence and hoping. Speaking of hope, JTE is a person full of hope and optimistic. Symbolize with her believes that a seed will grow in the space between 1 and 0 which is obviously impossible since there were no air, light and wind there. Gon try to tell her fact but she just go with her faith that this thing will work. If we never try, we never know. Which what makes me loving her character even more.

And she also plant the seed in a pot. Also having faith that is will grow beautifully. She said “i know you’re from a different world, but you should sprout. Your friends are in a much harsher place now” this line itself speaks on how much JTE worried for Gon and drives her crazy because she only could wait

I appreciate JTE that still working just fine eventhough she still pretty much thinking about Gon. As we saw her having a flashback of Gon in the middle of solving LSD case. So actually that night they have further conversation after the kiss. Gon asking her about what he is trying to prove with the kiss, the fact that he dated before or the fact that he is dating now. Gon helps JTE answer that he is in dating right now 🤓 because Instead of answering Gon question JTE prefer to ask Gon to open his shirt 🙃 flustered Gon being shocked is the cutest. JTE ask about the scar he has on his shoulder but cant really saw it now, because its awkward to open Gon shirt just like that and also no lighting strikes.

One of my fav line from this conversation is when Gon said “its more difficult to cross this line, than it is to cross the universe”

Understanding the Self

PHILOSOPHICAL PERSPECTIVE OF THE SELF Philosophy of life will be different between each person. A person’s philosophy will vary depending on one’s life experience. The philosophy that relates to my own belief is according to John Locke: The Self is GConsciousness. I believe that his philosophy is true that human mind at birth is tabula rasa or a blank state. It will only be filled through our everyday experiences. And, from those experiences we learned and it molded us. It is very important to have philosophy of the self because it also gives a basis to our self today. It also gives us our reflection of our self today. In order for us to attain our goals in life, we need to inspire ourselves always. Having an ambition and setting goals is a massive part of who you are, so don’t take it easy. Set goals that are personal to you and will inspire you to reach new heights. Don’t follow the crowd and mimic the ambitions of friends, pursue something you’re passionate about, something that genuinely interests you. This helps create a sense of purpose that will motivate you to stop thinking and start doing. Each one of us has its own purpose in this world. Some of us haven’t already discovered their essence in this world. I think I am placed by God here in this world to give smiles to those who are in need of happiness. I am always positive in everything and every problem that I encounter each day. I am looking forward for the good things because I believe that “There’s always a rainbow after the rain”. SOCIOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE: The Self as a Product of Society I have discovered that I am really afraid to be judged by how I interact with them. I am the kind of person that is “anti-social”, it means I am not into interacting with other people that is why their first impression to me is “boring” and “maldita” type of person. I am overthinking about how they view me as a person. And also, according to Jean Baudrillard individuals achieve self-identity through prestige symbols that they consume. These statements have very high impact to me. I am this kind of person who judged the people by what they have, by just of what they have I can already conclude what is their status in life. Moreover, other people also did this because its trending and “nakikiuso”. They thought that through this prestige symbol they feel belongingness in the group or society. This time, I don’t really know my social life. What am I in the society, what is my standing? I hope someday I would be able to understand my social standing. An Anthropological Conceptualization of Self: The Self as Embedded in Culture Identity is discursive. That is, it is not determined by biology but informed by social and environmental influences. Geertz emphasizes that human nature is interdependent with culture: “Without men, no cuture, certainly, but equally and more significantly, without culture, no men”. Based on my own understanding, culture and men were very connected. Without the other it’s incomplete. As simple as, if we are not here in this world, there is also no culture, there’s nothing about what we are now. I think our culture is also one of those aspects that mold us in this world/society today. Because in our culture, we learned first what are our role in the society. I believe that, every people act by their culture and also know how they behave in public. Like for example, muslims. Muslims are not allowed to date with a boy to the public without the permission from their higher officials. Also, they are more conservative than Christians. By how they act in public, they always bring he name of their culture. The culture shapes our values. Psychological Perspective of the Self How well do you know yourself? It’s a question many of us struggle with, as we try to figure out how close we are to who we actually want to be. Self-concept is the thinking aspect of self where self-esteem is the emotional aspect of self and generally refers to how we feel about or how we value ourselves. People develop and maintain their self-concepts through the process of taking action and then reflection, what they have done and what others tell them about what they have done. This reflection based on one’s expectations and the expectations of others and to the characteristics and accomplishments of others. In this chapter we have learned the theories that contribute the way people understand the self. And, according to the book with Carl Roger’s theory, how much an adolescent is aware of his or her own psychological make-up, what makes him or her unique as a person, as well as his or her strengths and weaknesses. The Western and Eastern Concepts of Self The term “self” is referred to an individual human being, along with their body, mind, and in some cases, the concept of a “soul”. People in Western have a very different insights about life compare to Eastern side. However, there are some things that both sides have the same thought. People in Eastern side are very popular for being a family-oriented people especially in the Philippines. People in the Philippines are likely to be selfless because they always want to give to their family for what is the best for them. In every decisions they do, they always consider their family and love ones. On the other hand, people living in Western side are likely to be individualistic. I am very amazed because they are very strong and independent individual. They can do whatever they want as long as they don’t violate any law. They have this freedom that many people want to have. But, as an Eastern person, I should also practice individualism because sometimes you just want to have some time for yourself and there is nothing wrong to say “mind your own business”. We should balance. The Physical Self This lesson had thought us to be content of what we have. We should be thankful instead. The lesson had thought us many things that we should always realize. We are not living in this world to please everyone and to beg other people to accept us. We are here because of the purpose that God have given to us. Eventhough, sometimes we tend to get jealous to other’s physical appearance but we should always keep on thinking that we are beautiful in our own way. Our generation day, most of us define the beauty by on its physical appearance, but the truth is the true beauty comes from within our self. There are lots of ways for us to determine the beauty of a person. There are lots of ways on how to achieve those figures that we see on the magazines and televisions, but the easiest way for that is to accept who we are. By this, you can now recognize and feel the true beauty of a person. The Sexual Self As a teenager, I should have this kind of knowledge. The lesson had opened our eyes to the reality and these taught us many things about sexual self. The topic about sex nowadays is very rampant to our society today. We should have this knowledge of what aspect of ourselves is activating. Also this topic had expanded our knowledge about sexual and the Reproductive Health Law. This aspect of our self is giving us the knowledge about the sexual self. It is somehow “foul” to others but this is the reality. We are now living in a society where sexuality is not yet new to other people and also many of the underage are already exposed about it. We need to have this knowledge because this will help us in many ways and we know how to react with it because we have that knowledge. We should understand this topic. We should also focus to what are hot topics today, and that is sexuality. The Material Self This chapter is very true to life. People are very insatiable. People’s tastes are changing every minute. The only thing I can say is we should have control to ourselves. Having no control to this would lead us to a disease called Compulsive Buying Disorder (CBD) which is very alarming as of now because a lot of people now are like a “sunod-sunuran” in our desires in terms of materials. I don’t believe that there is no person who is not very materialistic. We always demand in many ways without knowing it. There are lot components contributing to our material self. The only thing I could say is, let’s demand according to what we have. Buy things if it is necessary. We should know how to control this aspect of our self because sometimes it is not good to us anymore. The Spiritual Self Your spiritual self is in yourself already from the start. It is found within you as in within yourself. Spiritual self is the one who connects us to the most powerful Man in this world. Our spiritual self makes us to experience oneness according to the book. For me, it is very important for us to understand this other aspect of ourself because by this we can find the answer of what is our role in this world. Like some of the aspects of ourself, spiritual self develops through interaction, observation, and imitation. As we all know, our parents have already thought us about the spirituality. We are exposed to the church because our parents want us to learn more about religion. Eventually, we are the ones who develop our spirituality. We are the ones who will decide if we want to pursue or to continue the knowledge we had about spirituality before. One thing I can say, we should know and identify our spiritual self because this one will connect us to our God and will make us live peacefully. Also, we can find oneness and wholeness by this. Political Self In today’s generation, minimal only of the teenagers are aware of the happenings in the society especially about the political. As what I have learned in this chapter, there is this one aspect of ourself that connects us or enables us to know about politics. As we all know, in our society today cheating, lying, murder, scandal, etc. are very rampant. So as a student/teenager, we need to understand what are the law that would help us and protect us. Moreover, political self helps in educating and understanding about what is the relationship between the government and the citizens. Also, according to this book, one important component of political self is identity, and that is our citizenship. In conclusion, we need to be more knowledgeable about politics because someday this can help us in protecting ourself, our family, our friends and even our fellow countrymen. As what is Dr. Jose Rizal said, “Ang kabataan ay ang pag-asa ng bayan”. Digital Self As what we observed today’s generation we are very exposed to the internet and very active in social media platforms. Even a five year old can afford to expose in internet. The aspect of ourself that I am saying is the digital self. The digital self is the aspect of the self that is expressed or shared with others through online interactions on the internet, specifically in social networking sites. There is no law that forbids us to use social networking sites, the only problem here is that other people are not yet knowledgeable enough about the consequences of using social media. They are not taught about the disadvantages of it. Very alarming case today is the Identity Theft. Without knowing, other hackers are hacking our private information to use in other illegal doings. They use our identity to scam other people. Thankful because there is a law that helps us with this. In conclusion, we need to have knowledge about this and also be careful to what you are posting to social media. Think many times before you click!

The two person have their own beleifs in life.That is why,they having an argument during in their occassion.The one person was the banker.The banker believe that capital punishment is better than imprisonment and the banker detailed why?.It is better to choose capital punishment than to suffer in imprisonment.Life there is so hard.I agree about the banker's reason but I do not agree about the capital punishment.People's life is precious and living in this world is beautiful eventhough there's a lot of struggles we encountered.For me, I do not agree about the capital punishment.

The second person was the young lawyer.The lawyer argue to the banker because capital punishment is not necessary.Our life is so precious and no one can give back life except God.The lawyer's opinions.I agree what the lawyer beliefs and said.At the same time I also got the banker's reason but its not necessary.

The two sides was making a bet.If the lawyer will win the argument,the banker will give an amount depends of what they deal or what they talk.

I do not know which really better.As a student we should not move a wrong doings.Our life is precious we must not end it.All of us,have a beliefs in life and no matter what each others beliefs we should respect.

` Me v. IT, The Parity of Disparity?

I just finished reading Stephen King's 'IT' and an odd thing happened. As I read this masterpiece the settings in this book, its themes and many characters started reminding me -very compellingly- of today's culture, the Judicial System, Law Enforcement & Federal Sentencing in general. The congruence became so all-consuming it prompted...no, compelled me to write the Following.

I have been languishing in the federal prison's most volatile and violent facilities since 2003. I have been incarcerated due to a "racial disparity". After reading Stephen King's IT, I finally realized that I have been chosen by IT. I have looked into IT's eyes and am being dragged into the deadlights. So what am I talking about?

-Nation of Laws-

We are a Nation of Laws right? Well "Crack" cocaine is not scientifically distinguishable from powder cocaine. There was no empirical study done on "crack" that garnered a distinction between crack & powder cocaine. No, all this was done...well innocuously. Not many people know this. But the Supreme Court does and the U.S. Sentencing Commission does. Yet, I am in prison as if it did not. Although OUR Constitution does not permit one to be punished or sentence based on race; for some odd reason I am being punished based on race. My sentence was 100 times more severe than someone who committed the same offense. All due to 'The Perception Of' a "racial disparity".

Please focus on the words "racial disparity". We are a "Nation of Laws". Pursuant to that narrative we have inherit protections provided to us, per, the U.S. Constitution. Which means, the Law does not allow for an American Citizen to be prosecuted or punished based on race or gender or religious belief. However, I, like Hundreds of Thousands of others, am being punished for just that and nothing more. What IS a racial disparity? Per, my perception it is a disparity in the law based on race. How about you? Its implications are so far reaching no Court will take the necessary step to call it what it truly is. Race-based-sentencing.

- Evidence-

Congress in 1987 promulgated the United States Sentencing Guidelines and enacted a Sentencing Commission to navigate and calibrate the process & procedures of sentencing. They stated this was done because they wanted "uniformity" and fairness in sentencing. Every time I think of that phrase I think of the 50's & 60's south and the uniformity used to subjugate and segregate blacks and the hate and ignorance used so uniformly; to do so. IT was also legal & fair under the color of law.

Since the enactment of the U.S. Sentencing Commission the commission has sent several letters to congress telling them they needed to change the "crack ratio" (which was 100:1) to a ratio of one-to-one. They stated that this would better promote fairness and respect for the law and that the law as it stood (100:1) gave the impression of "racism". Racism is a word I use, however, the word they use is "racial disparity". Think about it. Sentencing a defendant 100 times more severe than another defendant for the same crime gives the "perception" that a disparity exist? Or is it when over 95% of those defendant's are black or a minority is IT the "perception" of racism? I guess this is a case where a reality becomes "perception". Just like in the book IT.

The Supreme Court used this same phrase in a case speaking against the 100:1 ratio (See KIMBROUGH). I can only imagine Ruth Bader Ginsburg, in her fight for women's equality, speaking of gender inequality as the perception of a "gender disparity". Likewise, the Supreme Court as a whole has stopped short -as have all of "Black America"- in calling the "racial disparity" surrounding the "Crack" ratio what it truly is; and that is "race-based-sentencing". Something that is disallowed by our Constitution.

Finally, on this point, eventhough, the U.S. Sentencing Commission was opposed to this law Congress passed, it still took Congress 30 years to change the law. The 100:1 ratio was so egregious many courts -starting from the early 1990's- from coast-to-coast wrote published opinions about the effects the law had on minority defendants, their community and the perception of justice and fairness. District Court judges from New York (See Bannister) to The Western District in Virginia (Charlottesville) (See Carlton N. Luck) to the 9th Circuit (See Restrepo) all have been -over decades- opposed to the use of any "disparity" in "crack" sentencing. Furthermore, many judges -as Justice Kavanaugh- have been opposed to the use of uncharged and acquitted conduct at sentencing. Where they sentence defendants -without a jury finding- to uncharged offenses or offense the jury acquitted a defendant of at trial (See Bell D.C. Cir. 2017).

-Conclusion-

So if you are a Blackman like me. Doing Life & charged with a "crack" offense and sentenced in the early 2000's what do you do? Wait? Write some black politician? Their recent correction (First Step Act), did not eliminate the "disparity" and thereby logically could not have eliminated the "perception of racism". So who do I call? What advocacy group is up in arms about THE most egregious violation of the Constitution and Rule of Law; today? No other crime allows a defendant to be punished even 3 times more severe than someone else who committed the same crime. But if you sold "crack" you have been chosen by IT.

The similarity is stark. In the book IT, people complained about the tragedies only AFTER they happened; sound familiar? However, while IT happened people went into their houses and looked the other way. No one could comprehend IT, its collateral damage or the significance of its detritus. Does that sound familiar aswell?

IT is not made from reality. IT is made to influence the perceptions of our greatest fears. Therefore, our minds cannot fully comprehend IT for what IT really is. So our minds relay an image or semblance of IT that we can associate with and articulate with. Because of this we either act as if IT doesn't exist or accept the egregious for normalcy or turn our minds and backs away from the tragedy. When others are caught up in IT or injured by IT; we may even speak from the darkest depth from inside ourselves and say ( In our own parlance) "they deserved it", "they should have known better" or "better then than me". All of this is just like the book IT. Subsequently, I believe the 'Criminal Justice System' is a creation of IT. This is why I believe it is Me v. IT.
