The people writing mcyt g/t stuff are usually not writing about the real people. These CC's play characters on a role-play server.
Even still, even if they're the characters not the streamers or youtubers, none of the stories are written in a romantic light if that's against the ccs boundaries and I don't think there's any nsfw content, or if there is they are NOT a part of the community and they are blocked.
I don't think that just because the mcyt community is inspired by real people, and occasionally involves them that it should be considered weird? The vast majority of the creations are fluff and family dynamic type things. The few ships are not about the real people, but about the characters in canonical relationships in the world of the roleplay.
There is art. That may not be tagged g/t but absolutely is. That the real people themselves have seen of their characters and have spoken positively about.
There can be people who write weird stuff or break boundaries, but the vast majority of the fandom and community tries very hard to respect the boundaries of the people who create the fandom we're in.
I hope this doesn't come off as aggressive, that's not my intention at all, but it's a little hurtful to see stuff y'know. Calling us weird or creepy for writing g/t (an interest and form of comfort for most of us) about our main fandom (an interest and form of comfort for most of us.
Obviously you don't have to read or like the stuff? But insinuating that we're in the wrong just for creating content is a little hurtful.
Not mad or anything, just want to try and clear things up, and defend this part of the community.

Yeah, I really don't have anything against people who are in those kinds of fandoms, but I just personally am not a fan. I'll be honest, I don't really understand the myct fandom, or any kind of fandom that revolves around real people. Sanders Sides is a similar thing where it is and also isn't based off real people. I personally just am not comfy consuming content that is too closely related to real people, largely because their real life actions and personalities bleed into the content and that can become problematic. I would much rather read a story or look at a piece of art where the characters are entirely fictional, especially in regards to g/t.
Now, content creators are allowed, and should create the content that makes them happy (so long as it isn't harmful). I would never personally go to someone who creates myct content and insult them or tell them they should stop. But I use my blog to express my opinions on g/t, and I do wish talented artists and writers would use their talent to create content I can engage in. Of course, that's not their obligation. I can express my disappointment, but they are in no way required to care.
My intention isn't to offend anyone, so I'm sorry if I did. However, I think it would be disingenuous of me not to be honest about my opinion on the matter.
