bored so time to summarize When One Is Just aka the sequel to my ferriswheelshipping series When Two Are One
2 years after the event everyone seems to move on. mei is now the main character of the story. she is aware of the heroic deeds of white, the hero of truth but has never met her since the same person also disappeared months after the huge incident. the story is pretty canon compliant to bw2s plot.
but the lore here is kyurem is the empty husk of reshiram and dragon, hence is masterless. theres a tale where it once has a friend instead of a master, where the person befriended the empty shell of a dragon before their passing. kyurem is connected to a pendant by its friend; the pendant now lost to time.
mei has a cute pendant her mother gave her as a good luck charm :)
fast forward to mei confronting ghetsis. kyurem is being mind controlled by ghetsis using tht brainwash thing. N saves the day before mei gets impaled. trying and failing to reason with his asshole of a dad, N is then horrified by one realization.
white is captured and frozen in time by ghetsis scientific + magical contraption. its shape into an orb and placed on ghetsiss staff. N can see her and her team sleeping and unchanging.
ridden with guilt and anger, N fused with zekrom like how white did with reshiram. but this time N has more control and consciousness so he knows he will win.
wrong.
ghetsis uses his device to force kyurem fuse with him. now he has his own magical kyurem armour and goes against magical boy N. mei only watches his horror as the cave is slowly starting to collapse. all seems like a lost as N and zekrom gets overpowered.
but before ghetsis can celebrate, kyurem finally has 100% of its consciousness and body. and what did it do?
it transform back to kyurem. right from inside ghetsis. literally.
its claws. its sturdy tail. its giant head. its more giant body. all started to burst out of ghetsis as the man pops like a fleshy balloon.
once free with ghetsis nothing but blood and shattered bones, kyurem forces zekrom out of N and fuses with the dragon of ideals. N gets stunned and weakened but manages to catch the staff that trapped white and gang. panicked, he shatters the orb and finally frees the one he misses the most.
black kyurem goes apeshit and the city nearby is about to be destroyed. all hope seems lost as people and pokemon are being frozen solid and shattered like ice.
but mei then tries to reason with kyurem. she knows the pokemon has been ignored isolated and mistreated. this action finally causes the pendant tk react. she wants to bring justice to kyurems life.
she is the Hero of Just.
mei turns out to be the descendant of the ancestor who befriended kyurem before they get executed for being blamed of controlling a monster. mei sees the memories and cries at the horrifying revelation. she faces her ancestor and hears the words help kyurem...help my friend....
everyone panics as mei calmly approaches kyurem who had spat zekrom out. hyu sees her and man has never felt so much fear in his life.
magical blinks later mei fuses with kyurem. she too is now a magical girl. she sees and feels kyurems memories. she empathizes and sympathizes with the poor creature. theyre friends now.
in her hero form, mei unfreezes the land. unfortunately those shattered she cant save but at least most damage has been undone.
white is in a coma. she looks just the same 2 years ago. she and her pokemon never aged but look very weak due to the comatose. bianca and cheren are distraught and miss their friend. N feels guilty as hell. he starts crying and secretly seeing her one night to say that he should leave for her peace and safety.
after he leaves, theres a scene where whites fingers twitch; finally a semblance of movement from her.
N meets mei one final time in his broken castle. N confronts his past and fears and cries to mei. they have a battle before N decides to disappear again.
but of course. white finally comes into the castle and shouts Ns name at the top of her lungs. all while dressed in her hospital gown.
her team is alive and awake too. reshiram healing the fastest brings her to N. white starts punching Ns shoulders and chest and cries about how much she misses him and wants to see him and N is too overwhelmed by emotion of her to respond properly. hw just lets her vent out.
mei tries to stop white but isaac, whites samurott pops out of the ball looking VERY menacing thinking mei is a threat. meis serperior is horrified.
white then faints after overpushing herself. back to the hospital.
N and white finally lets out their feelings and emotions. N cries. white cries. she says theres nothinf to forgive (except maybe leaving her on that night). the two hug and make up for lost time. acting on instinct N just kisses her face and shoulders. he doesnt know what hes doing but he knows he wants to feel her. alive and real in his arms. white just lets him be as she misses him deeply.
SO the ending is mei is the lost hero of just. she and kyurem are friends but kyurem prefers to chill in the chasm while mei can contact with him emotionally and mentally via the pendant. she visits sometimes. hyu worries for her and they get closer in time :3c
but of course the star of the show is ferriswheelshipping. N and white make up and both decide to never. ever. leave each other again :') 💕

Secret Spring
Oooof, my first actual sort of writing/art trade. I hope it holds up to the regular standards of previous “secret trade” events. Thanks to @terra-haven for hosting this event!
This is for Mod Katie @heartfeltheroes and it’s platonic Chrom with teenage f!summoner with the order of heroes from feh.
~Mei
It was one of those nights again.
The ones where the thoughts of battles past, ran though your head with no intention of stopping. They seemed to be endless with a whole bunch of “what if” questions coming along for the ride.  A lot of it was due to the fact that you almost sent some heroes to their deaths when you weren’t keeping a close eye on the enemies.
Truth be told, it scared you more than you knew to see those who’ve been so kind as to take you under their wing to train as well as respect you as their tactitain, even with only having board game level strategies on your resume (although, you played a pretty mean round of monopoly when you got going). Along with being the one chosen by the legendary Breidablik to come in Askr’s time of need.
There was a lot of expectations held by both the people of your new home and the extremely competent heroes you’d summoned and honestly, it was a lot more responsibility than you’d expected when Anna first asked you to become one of their leaders. And frankly, there was quite a bit of unwanted staring from the nobles and judgemental pricks that oh so often attended the council and war meetings.
Throughout your adventures through Askr’s castle, you’d come to find nifty little hiding spots and secret passages (Old castles certainly are known for them after all...). Often, you’d roam the spacious halls on the nights you couldn’t sleep, when everyone else was in bed and there was no one left to bother you. Except the occasional guard who, thankfully paid you little to no attention.
It was on one of these outings that you found a hidden stairwell that lead to the roof above the tactics room. It’s location so well positioned that it was almost as if the architect knew that the future tacticians would need their own place. Since it was ever so easy to just say that you needed to go over a few things as an easy alibi.
Quickly grabbing a candle from your desk, you open the door to your room just a crack - enough space to peak out into the darkened corridor. With no one at sight during this ungodly hour, you leave the relative safety of your private chambers and book it down the hall. No one can yell at you now for being so “disruptive” or too “ill mannered”.
Using your keen knowledge of the guards schedule, you know that with the on going war with Embla, all of their attention has been on protecting the castle from the walls surrounding it. Their main thinking was that if someone had snuck into the castle, the absolute beasts of heroes within, would easily send them to Hel. Not the most foolproof plan but it certainly worked as no one in their right mind would willingly contest against Ike or Xander (you wouldn’t wish that upon your worst enemy - not including war-time enemies).
Almost at the tactics room, you aim slightly left of the main doors, closer to a portrait of Prince Alfonse and Princess Sharena (the tactics room was near the hall in which they hung the royal portraits). Holding your candle up to the painting, you can see all of the well crafted brushstrokes and marks that made up the royal siblings. Moving your hand across the canvas, you touch upon the Prince’s sword, pressing slightly as you prepare to step back.
As the sword begins to give off a faint glow, the painting swings forward with a jolt, revealing a staircase. Hastily you climb the stairs, two at a time, you couldn’t afford to be up there when the sun rose as the aerial fighters began their warm up laps.
Breaking through the trapdoor leading to the roof, the sky unfurls before you. With no cloud in the sky, you can see each star shining brightly above, a sight you’ve come to love, especially on the days you feel homesick. On some occasions you can outline familiar constellations that you would from your world, Ursa Major, Leo (not the moody Prince), Orion... It was a comforting sight, to say the least.
A creaking sound from the trapdoor cut through the night air like a sword through flesh - the sounds from the battlefield just couldn’t leave you alone, could they. Turning around, ready to punch the living daylights out of whoever just disturbed your precious alone time, your anger subsides as you realise who it is. It was the very person you’d almost killed earlier that day, the Exalt of Yilise, Chrom.
You watched as he stumbled to find words... was his face getting redder? Fidgeting with his hair, obviously embarrassed a getting caught following someone.
“Uh, hey. I didn’t mean to- well it wasn’t intentional - uh, it was just a small curiosity...” He sighed, taking a breather as he collected his thoughts, “I didn’t intend on following you this far. I was merely curious as to where you were headed this late at night... I’m sorry.”
His explanation certainly surprised you to say the least. You expected that you would’ve at least heard him walking behind you, what with his... strange one shoulder armour piece and Falchion hanging at his side. Chrom wasn’t particularly known for being stealthy or good at hiding things. Goodness, his battle tactics certainly weren’t helping him there, what with his destructive sword swinging.
A reply formed smoothly as you took in his words.
“It’s alright, Chrom.... would you like to join me...?” You gestured to an open space to your side. His deep (?) voice ringing in the brisk air, “If you don’t mind.”
Shaking your head, you feel- or rather hear him settle on the roof beside you. It was a wonder how you didn’t notice him before at all. A comfortable silence engulfed the two of you as the night sky became more prominent.
Soon enough you could feel his eyes on you. Tearing yourself away from the sight, you’re met with his dark eyes, some of the stars reflecting off of them.
“Chrom, what ar-”
“Don’t worry about it.”
“... worry about what?”
“Everything, I guess. Like the war... and stuff like that.”
Taken aback, you contemplate what he’s saying. Making sure to come up with a totally not lame response.
“I’m surprised, you’d be the one to say that. It seems like such a Lissa statement.”
“Hey!”
Chuckling a bit, Chrom runs his hand through his hair -like all people do when they’re trying to be less awkward. He turns towards the edge of the roof, the part that looks onto the gardens.
“ I... I just want you to know that even though you’re our tactician, you don’t have to be perfect. So what if I almost die a couple of times, I’m still here.” He flashes you a  confident smile, like the whiteness of his teeth could keep your problems at bay.
Not knowing how to respond to such a declaration, your mouth stays closed. Prompting Chrom to open his.
“Uh, let me rephrase that. What I mean is that even though you’re in charge of our battle strategies and all that, don’t be afraid to rely on us to get you out of your boring duties. I know Lissa would be ecstatic to aid you -  she’s been doing it since she was able to walk.”
Letting out a chuckle, Chrom focuses his gaze on the stars as he slowly begins to rise.
“Anyway, I should probably to my leave if you want to have some time alone. The sun should be rising soon-”
“I don’t mind it if you would like to stay,” you stammer quickly.
Turning back to you, “ If you wouldn’t mind my company.”
Sitting back down, you two sit in silence... until Chrom tries to make a joke but it comes out as a really, really bad dad joke. Both of you remain on the roof, even as the sun comes over the horizon and the sound of yelling and wing beats fill the air.

Blizzard is dead.
Hopefully this will be my first and last Blizzard post. At least until they release and/or publish another dumpster fire of a game, gift wrapped and adored by their fanboys.
Blizzard is the undisputed king of MMOs. Or at least their Daddy. Not grandfather, Daddy. The aged, drunk, smoked 2 packs a day step father that beats their children daddy of a company. A company that is the smoking shadow of its former self.
Blizzard hasn’t made a good game since Starcraft 2. There. I said it.  And even then it only really enjoyed as much success as it did because it was Starcraft and published by Blizzard. I really only enjoyed it because I was trying to relive the days of yore. Maybe it wasn’t good either.
Blizzard has survived because of their brand alone. Their fans believe the publisher is incapable of releasing a bad game. The problem is that Blizzard is still able to sell them bad games because it seems to me like their fans haven’t played much else. They are still clinging to titles like Final Fantasy 14, which is just a WoW clone. While they wait for the next big Blizzard MMO or WoW expansion to come out. They keep playing dead genres and IPs because it’s what is familiar. What they fell in love with but are too stuck up to divorce.
What about Diablo 3? I hated it. Maybe it’s because I never played Diablo 2. But this game has very little content, like. I played through the story. Then I played through it again. Upgraded some gear here and there. Kill some monsters. Play through the story again. Keep grinding. It just seems like a grindfest loot festival of a shitshow. I don’t get it and I probably never will. If you enjoy this game I hope you never complain about any game being either too grindy or not having enough content. I hated D3 and I will never understand the people who don’t.
Overwatch? It’s TF2 if it were published in 2016 using assets from the failed creation of a new IP “Titan.” The gameplay was stripped straight away from TF2 and in traditional Blizzard fashion the game has no semblance of balance. Anything that seems too fun gets the axe. I put an embarrassing number of hours into Overwatch, mostly because my friends were playing it, and at this point I don’t see a reason to put any more. It’s stale, boring, and barely still under post-release development.
Blizzard decided that they would also include lootboxes, another idea they stole from Valve. This time, a big middle finger to their fans. While the rewards are purely cosmetic, it doesn’t stop the fanboys from spending hundreds of dollars on events. Reinforcing the idea that giving your fans a way to give you money is good. Loot boxes are a cheap cash grab from a company that already wipes it’s ass with $100 bills.
$100 bills earned from WoW. WoW was a good game for 2004. It is not a good game for 2017. We expect more than a level cap increase, a few zones we’ll never visit again after we finish leveling, and a grind fest of a dungeon queue and a raid dungeon. The last three expansions have been so lackluster that the only reason it makes sense to me that Blizzard is still supporting the game at this point is because it just makes economic sense to do so. WoW may have been a great game in it’s past, but for 2017 it isn’t graphically good enough, nor is the gameplay they’ve padded around their dungeons and boss fights enough to keep an adult interested.
Maybe after playing Eve for several years after WoW I was disillusioned. An MMO with a design philosophy so inherently different from WoW I am surprised people consider them the same genre. I am not saying Eve is good and WoW is not, especially in 2017. But Eve was such a different design that to me that I can’t really go back to another WoW-esque MMO. I can’t really go back to Eve either, but I now expect something else from my games. Maybe it’s why I am so obsessed with the development of Star Citizen. I digress.
Heroes of the Storm was DOA as far as I’m concerned. It was a MOBA aimed at a casual audience after MOBAs were going out of style. And the games still take 20-30 minutes to complete. Mechanically the game was interesting on it’s own, but it was just a game you played a few times, shrugged, and moved on with. They keep forcing promotions with their other games to keep people coming back, and even had to give away 50 heroes just for logging in just to keep their shit MOBA with enough players. Too little, too late here Blizzard.
Hearthstone? It’s just watered down Magic: The Gathering. Was it for people who don’t understand the concept of the stack? Maybe I didn’t play it long enough to “get it” like with Diablo. I didn’t feel like there was too much strategy to it. I can’t declare blockers. I can’t play spells on my opponent’s turn. Half the people you play are AFK or just taking the full amount of time to piss you off. “Well Played” Blizzard. I can’t say enough bad things about Hearthstone.
Blizzard keeps trying to shove the competitive gaming down our throats for all their games. I don’t give a shit about what “professional” Overwatch team comps are. No, I don’t care what the top guild in WoW does in this fight. No, I don’t care about the new season of Diablo 3. No, I don’t want to watch Korean Starcraft. Are there competitive HOTS players? Probably, I wouldn’t doubt it. I am of the opinion not every game needs a competitive or professional scene. Blizzard creates casual games and then tries to develop a competitive scene around it. It’s the most backwards of logic.Or creates their patented bronze -> silver -> gold -> platinum -> diamond -> master rankings, and then wonders why their game has such a toxic atmosphere to new or casual players.
I won’t talk about MMR here, this blog is too fresh at this point to get that dirty.
In the past few years Blizzard has pulled every cheap trick to retain players and strip them of their cash. Lootboxes, Seasons in D3. HOTS gave away 50 free heroes for logging in their dead, shit MOBA. Gametime for gold in WoW. Then you can use the WoW gold money to buy the other games of theirs you don’t give a shit about.
I half expect to find a Blizzard game at the arcade. Begging me to put a quarter in every time I die in Overwatch. Giving us minerals in Starcraft in exchange for dollars. To find Jeff Kaplan at the local strip joint busting open lootboxes for singles. Showering his fans in glitter and cheap skins. At this point their games feel and look so cheap, and have had every marketing gimmick pulled.Every time someone plays it’s like they keep trying to capitalize on that hype by offering to let you buy cosmetics.  I can’t help but think that they are just searching for a way to nickel and dime us but can’t figure out how do do that in a free-to-play model that includes a grindfest, gear progression, and premium skins. The Blizzard wet-dream.
Overwatch, at least, demonstrates that there still may be some hope for Blizzard in the future. It was their first FPS and a new IP. I think this shows that they may  try to create something new and different in the future. Or at least that they might have the courage to. I hope it shows more promise and originality than Overwatch did. But then again Overwatch was a failed game called “Titan.” I have no idea what they thought it would be, but I would guess that it was extremely bad, even by Blizzard’s standards, so they decided to take their assets, cut their losses and create Overwatch.
Was Overwatch a success? Yes. Was it good? I don’t think so. It expanded on TF2′s class based system slightly, but also incorporated nothing new about TF2′s gameplay. I mean, half the characters were cheap ripoffs of TF2 classes. It isn’t hard to see a similarity between Demo and Junkrat. Sniper and Widow. Mercy and the Medic. Pyro and ... you get the idea. Throw in some originals as well and there’s enough that it isn’t a total clone. The ultimates varied wildly from gamebreaking to minor annoyance. And don’t give me that “situationally good” argument, but that’s a topic for an entire separate post.
Furthermore, Overwatch has had very little implemented into it since launch. Seriously, 3 new playable characters since launch? A map or two? Nobody really gave a shit about your co-op events, Mei’s snowball adventure, or Capture the Flag. They still haven’t admitted that CTF is a valid game mode. I guess they just can’t figure out how to balance the game around it because they would have to actually fix some of their horseshit characters or disable half of them just to make it fun.
And with the release of Starcraft Remastered we have completely regressed any of the progress made with Overwatch. I mean, you re-skinned your most popular game ever released. Did you get tired of seeing decades old assets on GOM TV? Did you think it would get people to use the Blizzard launcher or try HOTS? I don’t know why they did this, honestly. Unless there is a UMS that is literally sex I won’t even bother. It’s Starcraft. The same shit you played when you were home from school sick in the 2000′s.
And I guess this brings us to Destiny. Why am I talking about Destiny? Because Blizzard is the publisher. Does that mean it’s a Blizzard game? Kinda. It is going to be on b.net. I never played the first Destiny, and I won’t play this one either. It does give us a clue where Blizzard is on the spectrum though. Destiny may be a proof-of-concept to other outside developers that want to publish their game, don’t have the infrastructure to do so and don’t want to deal with Valve (Steam), EA (Origin) or GoG. It could also be that Activision is evaluating their options with Blizzard’s brand. A sign that while they aren’t desperate yet, their cash cow (WoW) is dying of old age and they are looking for other sources of income to continue development. Hopefully that development isn’t into dead IP’s and games that cling to cultural relevance in an era that has moved beyond Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo.
Why do I say Blizzard is dead? Because they can’t create something that isn’t in one of their dead old IPs. Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo are living history. They shouldn’t be getting used as much as they are. WoW is a living relic of the past. Go ahead, log in. All your old shit is still there. It’s like an old photo album of shame, except the last few pages are blank, and you can still fill them in ... for a price.
I think choosing to publish Destiny is a glimpse into Blizzard’s future. Perhaps they will continue to develop some games under their dead IP’s and choose to publish premium games from other developers. I think the future of Blizzard is in publishing, and I see them to be more like Valve in the future, but expecting a higher quality from developers.
In any case, I won’t be buying or playing anything Blizzard develops or publishes for quite some time. I think that they are in a rut as a company and they haven’t created anything that appeals to me for a long time. I think my best memories of Blizzard are in the past.
