You don't live in a random world ruled by chance.
You live in a world ruled by God.
Ecclesiastes 11:5 says "Just as you'll never understand the mystery of life forming in a pregnant woman, so you'll never understand the mystery at work in all that God does."

Yes, there is bad news out there with rising Covid cases. But, as we do our part to be wise in our movements and choices, are we going to live in fear and contribute to the fear by making Covid such a fixation (like a god), or are we going to live by faith in GOD, and trust him to heal, deliver, and save us?
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling…The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭46:1-3, 11‬ ‭

There will be struggles in our lives.
God will give us the strength to live through them though!
Don't wait until you're at the end of your rope.
Call on God first in every situation.
Let's look to God as our first resort, not our last resort.
Let's look to him for help each day even when life isn't easy.

With all the difficult trials we face, we need to celebrate daily progress, no matter how small. As long as the curve is upward, that’s a win! And when some days are harder than others, then we just keep getting back up again and trying, and that’s also a win!
God has given us a spirit of power, not of fear or timidity! This relates, more importantly, to doing his gospel work and his will with the abilities he has given us, even when we face trials and challenges. ❤️
“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord…,”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭1:6-8

Everytime I read through my Bible, I am reminded that God takes care of his children. We may go through difficult seasons and the storms of life, but he is present. He never forsakes us. We have nothing to fear when we are in the center of his will — loving him, obeying him, worshipping him, honoring him and glorifying him.
“Thus the Lord gave to Israel all the land that he swore to give to their fathers. And they took possession of it, and they settled there. And the Lord gave them rest on every side just as he had sworn to their fathers. Not one of all their enemies had withstood them, for the Lord had given all their enemies into their hands. Not one word of all the good promises that the Lord had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.”
‭‭Joshua‬ ‭21:43-45‬

There is an ebb and flow to the seasons we go through. Sometimes it’s hard, sometimes it’s REALLY hard, and then it fades into an easier time. We may not quite get over the loss, but God gifts us with new memories to enjoy.
Seasons also remind us that everything we have on earth is temporary and meant to direct our eyes to our more permanent home in heaven.
“Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭73:25‬ ‭
There has been so much loss this past year, and for many of us, the brokenness is still so real and so HARD. May we remember that seasons do not extend beyond the boundaries that God sets. They will not linger longer than we can bear because he promises his sufficiency, provision, and grace to get through them when we look to him.
What do we do in the meantime? We grow in character and faith, we find strength and joy in God’s presence, we grieve as needed, and we never lose hope for that one day when all things will be made new.
“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43:18-19‬ ‭

I woke up to this! What a beautiful promise for all of us from Jesus...
“I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.”
‭‭John‬ ‭12:46‬ ‭
In simple, greater than speak..
Jesus > darkness
Belief in Jesus > darkness

“For you, O God, have tested us; you have tried us as silver is tried. You brought us into the net; you laid a crushing burden on our backs; you let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance.” Psalm‬ ‭66:10-12‬ ‭
God may test us, God may allow difficult circumstances in our lives, but God’s purpose is not to leave us broken or burdened, but to bring us to a place of abundance. So do not fear when times are hard. Do not worry about the future. Our lives are in the loving hands of a sovereign God, and he intends all things for good and not for calamity, for those who call upon his name.
These are the privileges of his children that trials cannot take away. In our hardest times, we see the salvation and deliverance of God. He will not abandon or forsake his beloved. Therefore, when that discouragement or loss feels heavy, give it to Jesus. Give it to Jesus.
“Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭55:22‬ ‭
