took my 24 hour juneteenth leave from this app and i have to say. it’s refreshing to just ignore everything and eat sleep and breath knowing the significance of the day and remembering that i’m here today bc my ancestors got thru what they did. thanks

#it’s like a mini reminder to be alive like hey. they’d be proud of you that you made it #yes there’s So much we can do to make this country a better place (so much) #esp considering the horrific way that brands decided to address juneteenth #but i like to think that the people who came before me are incredibly happy to know that i got to be in a time that’s Better #so yeah. #this holiday SPECIFICALLY for african americans is nice when ur family gets to just live knowing they made it #plus given the way that my last name is ik where my slave ancestors lived and ik that much of my family is still in that area today #and it’s like- even locations aren’t different #but i get to go to school !! i can read and write !! i’m allowed to go to whatever stores i please #it’s forward movement despite the time and the issues we came across and still are experiencing #so if ur AA i wish u a happy juneteenth and hope ur day was relaxing and not. what the internet was giving #tiktok on its own was a minefield unless ur fyp was exclusively black love like mine was mostly doing #after last summer and given yesterday take the time (if ur not AA) to appreciate AA artists and figures !! spread love #and again to all my AA friends- hope ur doin alright :) it’s been rough but i love you !! we got this :D #notes from the prime minister
