I played a game where I had to travel to Japan on foot through danger, also Ernest Borgnine was following me.

While I thoroughly enjoyed the new "All Quiet on the Western Front", I will be honest and say that I prefer the old Kat over the new.
I think more media in general needs dad characters that aren't just MCU style "loveable assholes" full of quippy put-downs.
1979 Kat is a gruff but caring figure in the lives of the new recruits, he comforts and reassures them when they are scared. He is wise and passes on his wisdom freely to Paul and the others, but most of all I think I just love his mischievous laidback demeanour.
(Also he's played by Ernest Borgnine aka Mermaid Man from Spongebob Squarepants)
