The debut novel from acclaimed short story author Kelly Link, The Book of Love, is an enjoyable slow burn of a fantasy novel (even if it could have burned a little faster). Three teens—Daniel, Laura, and Mo—wake up after being dead for a year. The man they thought was a music teacher and his demonic partner Bogomil tell them that no one will remember they were dead...But the three will have to figure out how to do magic and find a magical key if they want to stay not-dead long enough to reintegrate themselves into their own lives. Only thing is, Laura's sister, Susannah, has something to do with why they're dead, but now she can't remember. Only thing is, a deadly goddess is arriving in town—and she wants to get to the key first.
The book was beautiful and rich, tactile and surreal. The town of Loveside feels real to me, like I could walk there and out to the Cliffs and see Mo's house where his grandmother wrote all those romance novels, like I could walk in her rose garden. The characters feel like real, well-developed people, from rebellious, self-destructive sister Susannah to the owner of the local coffee shop. The magic in the book is made of near-limitless potential, and their discovery of their abilities and the ethereal, web-like nature of the storytelling reminded me of Erin Morgenstern's work. I was deeply invested in finding out how the three died, who was trying to get the key before they did, and who was secretly unreal, because all of the characters felt so deeply realized.
But I do have critiques. As you all know, I strongly believe that few books need to be more than 400 pages. This book, which rings in at 625, was no exception. The beginning was very, very drawn out, and while the character and atmosphere kept me dialed in, I was being to get impatient. And I love long, atmospheric fantasies, so I'm more patient than many readers are. I genuinely believe the first half or so of this book could be cut in half and concentrated down. This pacing leaves room for a lot of eerie moments and strange happenings, but also makes the final climax feel rushed (even though it's actually quite well-placed) and starts to take some of the sting out of big twists.
This is The Book of Love, and there is a lot of love in it—and a lot of queer, kinky love, which I did appreciate. Mo and mysterious immortal Thomas were a hot couple, even if they suffered a bit from instalove. I really liked Daniel and Susannah, but I think the amount of time given to the two young troubled teen lovers and the time given to Susannah's tumultuous and difficult relationship with her more orderly sister Laura should have been switched. But then, I love a good sister story.
Overall, I really enjoyed Link's work, which had the same ethereal, satisfyingly magical feeling as her short stories do; but it could have been a lot shorter, not just for the reader but for the sake of a tightened narrative. Those with the patience will enjoy this slow-burn fantasy with a ton of atmosphere and a heart-warming emotional core.

Loving Annabelle (2006)- Directed by Katherine Brooks
Okay, so... this movie is obviously problematic due to the student teacher relationship, with Simone (the teacher) being in her early 30's and Annabelle (the student) being around 16-17 years old. However, nothing explicit happens between the two until the last 10 minutes of the movie, and Simone is promptly arrested (even though we do not get to see what happens after that). That being said, I actually did enjoy the movie quite a bit. It was pretty difficult to actually conceptualize the age gap between the two main characters, since the actress who played Annabelle was around 25 years old, and the rest of the actresses for the teenage characters were clearly not teenagers themselves.
Most of my enjoyment while watching the film didn't even come from the plot of the movie itself but instead a bunch of interesting little things I noticed/discovered while watching:
This was the second lesbian film I've seen that has directly quoted Song of Myself from Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass. The first was The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love (1995), which is one of my favorite queer films.
Kevin McCarthy, from Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956), played Father Harris.
Donald Trump's second wife, Marla Maples, was in this.
There is a scene where the characters are playing badminton. I really like badminton.
One of the girls has a pet porcupine for some reason.
Annabelle was smoking for like 90% of the movie.
Cat's brother (the guy playing guitar at the dance) has a haircut that I really like. I want that haircut.

Goodbye to Diana, Goddess of the Hunt
Pt 1 of The Crown S6 Will Stand as the Definitive Dramatised Version of Diana & Dodi’s Final Days
Review (& gifs) by L.L @The Crown TV
Having seen Pt 1 of The Crown S6 before its official release, I can understand why Netflix decided to split the final season. The first 4 episodes are almost exclusively dedicated to the events surrounding the tragic deaths of Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed.
It's first-rate drama, but it's not always an easy watch. The series does have some lighter moments too, but it makes sense for The Crown to take a short pause before moving forward in December.
To be clear, Diana and Dodi's car crash is not portrayed in a voyeuristic way. We don't see the moment of impact; hearing it is traumatic enough. Diana's body is not shown. The show doesn't delve into what caused the accident. This is still The Crown, not CSI Paris.
Kudos to Peter Morgan and his research team who somehow scrutinised all reports of Diana and Dodi's final days and managed to turn no doubt conflicting accounts and opinions into 4 brilliantly dramatised episodes which feel like a definitive screen version.
I prefer the sharpened pace of S6 after a disjointed S5. All the cast seem more comfortable in their respective roles ... except ... Dominic West is a great actor, his grief and regret is so believable in these episodes, but for me, West's natural charm and roguishness still doesn't fit well with Charles. Perhaps Camilla would disagree!
There are no such issues with Diana. It's a difficult task playing an icon hunted by the paparazzi, but Elizabeth Debicki radiates the right emotional intelligence and effortless star quality of the princess. In fact, Debicki's empathetic and assured performance largely carries these pivotal episodes and tops her earlier impressive work in S5.
Warning - long read: more detailed spoilers ahead! GO & WATCH THE EPISODES FIRST (NOW ON NETFLIX)
Interview/images: courtesy of Netflix & Elizabeth Debicki.
The final season of The Crown begins in Paris with a bold flash forward to a dog-walker who witnesses the crash at the Pont de l'Alma tunnel. It's a jarring change of tone after S5, but effective.
From the start, we know where this story is headed. But first, it's back to Diana on her summer hols, impertinent rodents scurrying in the palace and Charles getting grumpy over the Queen not showing up for Camilla's birthday. Reassuringly, it's royal business as usual.
Tumblr media
^ Happy 50th, Camilla. I'm with the Queen about this pair; still not quite on board.
Enter Dodi Fayed, who could not be more different to his overbearing father. Khalid Abdalla infuses the shy son-of-a-billionaire with an engaging soulfulness which contradicts Dodi's two-timing behaviour.
Dodi starts out romancing his fiancée, Kelly Fisher (Erin Richards), but after being bullied into it by his father Mohamed Al-Fayed, Dodi pursues Princess Diana. For a while, Dodi juggles both women, before redeeming himself and confessing the truth to Diana.
Tumblr media
^ Diana & Dodi. This time, it's Diana herself who ends up not quite on board this ship.
BAFTA nominee Salim Daw is a force of nature as a magnificently Machiavellian Mohamed Al-Fayed. Daw's performance, along with Elizabeth Debicki's note-perfect Diana, is a standout in S6.
Those who had concerns that The Crown was too generous towards the real Al-Fayed in S5 have no such worries about S6. By episode 3, Mohamed almost crosses into arch villain territory, bribing Dodi into marrying Diana to get British citizenship and raise his social status.
Tumblr media
^ Mohamed Al-Fayed. Give him a cat & he'd be the perfect future Bond villain.
It's a controversial post-death chat with a 'ghost' which (nearly) absolves The Crown's Mohamed. Salim Daw is tremendously genuine during his imagined conversation with Dodi, sobbing for forgiveness. Too little, too late, but we feel his real pain about the loss of his son.
Before watching these episodes, the idea of Ghost!Dodi and Diana in the show did seem off-putting. Confession: I didn’t make it through the surrealistic film ‘Spencer’, where Diana talks to the ghost of Anne Boleyn (although Kristen Stewart seemed well cast in her role.)
Now that I've actually seen the 'ghost' scenes in The Crown, they don't feel ghoulish or disrespectful. Following the crash, both Charles (Dominic West) and Imelda Staunton’s Queen have small conversations with Diana, as though the princess is still with them.
You could take that to mean they’ve gone full royal-bats-in-the-belfry, but as a person who recently lost my dad, I talk to the dead all the time. It’s often what happens when you lose somebody you love. To see this depicted on The Crown felt honest. And human.
Tumblr media
^ Wassup, Betty? Just chillin', chatting w/dead Di* (*not dialogue from The Crown)
As the show wades through the aftermath of the crash, dealing with public sorrow, funerals and grief-stricken young William and Harry, it becomes heartbreaking. However, The Crown does handle heavy subject matter very well, as shown in episodes such as ‘Aberfan.’
With a golden jubilee coming up, hopefully Pt 2 of this final season will be more uplifting, and feature more scenes with Imelda Staunton as Elizabeth II. When we do see the Queen in Pt 1, her intonation is superb. There’s continuity too, with Staunton merging Claire Foy’s vulnerability and regality with Olivia Colman’s steely durability.
I'm no ardent monarchist, but now that we've said goodbye to Diana, I can't imagine that The Crown would end without paying tribute to another Queen of Hearts who reigned for over 70 years.
THE CROWN S6 PT 2:-premieres on Netflix | Thurs 14th Dec 2023
N.B: These are just my (humble) opinions at this point in time. No offence is intended. Agreement = lovely; not compulsory. Disagreement = happens; kindly coexist. Ta!

QUEER ROMANCE TO SPICE UP YOUR VALENTINE’S | RECOMMENDATIONS
In the mood to spend your Valentine’s curled up with a good romance book? Here are some recommendations with non-binary, asexual and sapphic leads.
1. Love & Other Disasters by Anita Kelly | 2022 | 368 p. | f/nb | 🌶️🌶️
The first openly nonbinary contestant on America’s favorite cooking show falls for their clumsy competitor in this delicious romantic comedy debut “that is both fantastically fun and crack your heart wide open vulnerable. (Rosie Danan, Storygraph)
Starting off with one of my favourite romance reads of last year, Love & Other Disasters is a delicious romance in multiple ways. It focuses on the main characters’ struggles and dreams, and you’re bound to be rooting for them the entire way. The f/nb romance is both heartwarming and sexy, and with its competitive setting, it surely is impossible to put down!
Tumblr media
2. The Romantic Agenda by Claire Kann | 2022 | 336 p. | ace f/m | 🌶️
Thirty, flirty, and asexual Joy is secretly in love with her best friend Malcolm, but she’s never been brave enough to say so. When he unexpectedly announces that he’s met the love of his life—and no, it’s not Joy—she’s heartbroken. Malcolm invites her on a weekend getaway, and Joy decides it’s her last chance to show him exactly what he’s overlooking. But maybe Joy is the one missing something…or someone…and his name is Fox. (Storygraph)
My second favourite romance of last year won’t reel you in with spicy scenes, but does a rather incredible job portraying intimacy between two gorgeous love interests. Asexual representation is still lacking in romance novels but Claire Kann proves that there absolutely should be more of. The fake dating trope used is the cherry on top for this wonderful romance that I won’t stop recommending. Perfect summery read to start counting down to warmer days. (Full review can be found here.)

3. Mistakes Were Made by Meryl Wilsner | 2022 | 404 p. | f/f | 🌶️🌶️🌶️
A sharp and sexy rom-com about a college senior who accidentally hooks up with her best friend’s mom. What should have been a one-time fling quickly proves impossible to ignore, and soon Cassie and Erin are sneaking around. Worst of all, they start to realize they have something real. But is being honest about the love between them worth the cost? (Storygraph)
Mistakes Were Made is the total package if you want it all this Valentine’s: amazing humor, exciting romance, and an abundance of steamy scenes. Probably the most binge-worthy book on this list, I highly doubt you would need anything more to fall in love. Despite the slightly scandalous romance, the conflict never takes away from the enjoyment. For any MILF lover: this book is made for you!
Tumblr media
4. For Her Consideration by Amy Spalding | 2023 | 320 p. | f/f | 🌶️
When an aspiring L.A. scriptwriter falls head-over-heels for a bossy and beautiful movie star after a devastating break-up, the two take a risk on love and cast themselves as the leading ladies of their own star-struck romance in this sweet and spirited love story from critically-acclaimed writer Amy Spalding in her adult debut. (Netgalley, Storygraph)
If you’d prefer to buy yourself a new book instead of reading something, then this is for you! Releasing 21 February, For Her Consideration is a relatable and swoonworthy sapphic romance fully coated in Hollywood dreams and sapphic film culture. It has great plus-size representation and fun side characters, making the book really awesome, both with and without the romance. (Full review can be found here.)
Tumblr media
5. Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree | 2022 | 318 p. | f/f
Worn out after decades of packing steel and raising hell, Viv the orc barbarian cashes out of the warrior’s life with one final score. A forgotten legend, a fabled artifact, and an unreasonable amount of hope lead her to the streets of Thune, where she plans to open the first coffee shop the city has ever seen. A hot cup of fantasy slice-of-life with a dollop of romantic froth. (Storygraph)
Last but not least, the perfect cosy recommendation for anyone who loves a cute romance without it being the entire genre. The sapphic romance in this is very slow burn and while they’re slowly falling in love, you’re bound to fall head over heels with the book in its entirety. Nothing better than a book that feels like a hot cup of coffee to cuddle up in bed with.

REVIEWS OF THE WEEK!
Books I’ve read so far in 2022!
Friend me on Goodreads here to follow my more up to date reading journey for the year!
___
163. Small Favors by Erin A. Craig--⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
I really wanted to read this book because a few of my friends had read it and really enjoyed it. While this reminded me of AGNES AT THE END OF THE WORLD, I think it definitely felt like a much slower read.
SMALL FAVORS is one of those books that needs to be read on a summer afternoon with the sound of bees buzzing around you. It was definitely an incredibly atmospheric read. While I personally found it to be a little TOO slow of a build up to the setting and mood of the story, I can see why so many people have fallen in love with this creepy story. There are some great characters and a potential romance/romantic drama to keep you hooked. The commentary on sexism and misogyny were pretty great and I at times wanted to slap a wall because of the annoying male characters in the MC's life. The slow build up of madness in the small town, the unknown year, and the creepy woods all made for an interesting experience . The unknown year was especially intriguing because it made me think: Is this a cult or something? Or is it actually over a hundred years ago and I just missed that point? I also have a few questions about some potential plot holes, but I won't mention them because spoilers. So, to end this short and rambling review, this story had some enjoyable themes and great build up of tension in the town. I do think it could have been much shorter, but I know I am in the minority. Stuff does pick up at the end, but I found it to be a little too quickly, ironically. I'd recommend this to horror fans that love that super slow build up of terror and those who also love tales about things that go bump in the night and could potentially rip you to pieces.
___
164. Beautiful Country by Qian Julie Wang--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Every time I come across a book about immigration, I add it to my TBR immediately because I know it will be a) super relatable and b) an incredibly powerful reading experience. Also, this quest of mine to read more immigration stories sometimes has me picking up autobiographies like this one and I'm so glad for it. I've been reading the series FRONT DESK by Kelly Yang (if you haven't picked up this middle grade series, I highly recommend you do--especially if you loved this book), and I have always thought about the immigration experience of Asian families--especially during the 80s and 90s. BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY gave me that experience I've been curious about and I honestly couldn't help but be drawn to the similarities and how I could finally read a nonfiction experience that is so close to a fictional story I love so much. Qian Julie Wang shows us in her book not only the xenophobia her family faced when they moved to the US, but also the poverty, and stereotypes kids often face when they have yet to learn English (or any new language). The latter brought back memories of my time trying to learn English and the bullying I sometimes endured because of a mispronounced word, or the assumption that I was weak and dumb because I didn't know English like a native-born speaker. I wanted to give young Qian a big hug when she was experiencing this because of the added fear put into her that to speak up meant attention, and attention was something her father never wanted her to grab. The story also explores the complex relationship and expectations between children of immigrants and immigrant parents. I do think that some children are denied that naïveté that sometimes comes with being a young age and Qian was no different. The jarring conversations she sometimes had with her mother, or the way other adults would talk down to her ABOUT her family was incredibly off-putting. It shows us that not only do these struggling families have to deal with xenophobia, but they also have to deal with the judgment and prejudices of members in their own communities. I also want to comment on the fact that we get to see so much nineties commentary! The flashbacks to certain toys and activities that Qian wrote for us was quite the experience. I remember always getting some toys late because my immigrant parents had to work double time. Personally, in retrospect, I wish I had appreciated those items more. Especially now that I fully know the scope of just how hard they worked. One last thing: I never even thought about other immigrants doing this, but Qian comments on "shopping days" and it brought back so many memories. My parents used to do the same thing and I still have two of the bookcases that they acquired for me on those shopping days. While I am not a Chinese immigrant and my experience varied in many ways (one way being that we immigrated to Canada and not the US), I think books like Qian's are incredibly important because it helps other immigrants see that they are not alone. Your experience is uniquely yours, but you are not the only one experiencing immigration struggles. Books that touch on the poverty, the xenophobia, and the stereotypes placed on non-native speakers hold a special place in my heart. This was an incredible book and I think it's important for many people to read it.
___
165. The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have been having a really weird reading experience over the last couple of weeks and I blame being burnt out on audiobooks. Needless to say, I almost DNFed this one because of my reading slump, not because of the book itself. One of the main reasons why I DIDN'T DNF this was because it was genuinely entertaining. I loved the spooky aspects and the true crime plot line. I'm usually put off by the back and forth of timelines, but I think this story seriously benefitted from the author choosing to present the story like this. I also liked the slow reveal and the tragic consequence of actions that can very much be compared to moments in our very real history where certain things have been ignored, or certain people have been set free when it was known that something bad was about to happen. Also, the conclusion was very fitting. If you like super atmospheric paranormal murder mysteries, then you might really enjoy this one. Also, don't read this with the lights off.
___
166. Debating Darcy by Sayantani DasGupta--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would! This was a very quick adaptation of PRIDE & PREJUDICE and I thought it was entertaining to see the story presented in such a unique setting. I found the quotes from P&P put into the book hilarious because it worked really well with the whole theme of elocution. Especially that last monologue from a certain character we all know has a big speech at the end that Elizabeth puts in her place. I enjoyed the discussion of sexism in debate competitions because I had no idea. I also found that since this theme was explored in this book, a certain situation played well into the message. The MC was spectacularly prideful, to the point where I was thinking, "Girl, again?" Is this a perfect read? No. Is it fun with some cute characters and some interesting commentary that teens might have (because teenagers are more vocal than some adults think they are--stop underestimating them)? Absolutely. ___
167. The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was an interesting and quick listen. I didn't know what to expect and I'm glad I went in blind. Time is something that so many of us take for granted and then wish we could have it back, have more of it, or have less of it when life hits us with big moments. Whether we are suffering from grief, are afraid of what comes next, or wish we weren't spending all of our time feeling lonely, I think appreciating the time we actually have is an important thing. Albom's book explores two characters who have vastly different time-related situations. It also explores the consequences of wanting more than we are given because of the fear of the grief that comes with letting go. Read this if you want some introspection about the time you're given, but TW for suicide, depression, cancer, and grief.
___
168. Hard Hitter by Sarina Bowen--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
While I enjoyed this one for the most part (the spice and the sexual tension were great in this one), the female MC had me thinking "Come on, girl" a couple of times regarding the decisions she would make. I loved that this one had an edge of suspense to it. It felt slightly different than other Bowen books I've read. Much like the last two books I read in this series, this one also dealt with some heavier themes and I highly recommend you check out the trigger warnings! I will happily continue with this series because I am loving the hockey guys and the women they meet. I also love this author's writing and the tension she creates between the couples in each book.
___
Have you read any of these? Would you recommend them?
___
Happy reading!

The Crown S5E10 Commentary
Non-Spoiler Review: That was so underwhelming. It just sealed to me what an uneventful season this was. I feel like Peter Morgan only went off on Ep 3, 4 then 7 to 9 then called it a day. I don’t know what exactly went behind the scenes to make him chicken out of going full on with the punches like he did in S4. Anyways here’s my live reactions as I watched it but I’m too annoyed to do a proper season review so lemme direct yall to my lovely mutual @mermaidsirennikita Caro’s post that outlined everything I felt about the season (I do disagree on some points but I’ll cover that in my post tomorrow or something when I’m done being mad - also hi Caro its viscountessevie’s side acc lol)
Spoilers Under The Cut
Dodi and Mohammed!! I've missed them Shksjs Dodi is officially an LA producer Not him bidding against Michael Douglas for a house
The way I really thought it was gonna be Diana 🤡🤡 But it's just Barbara Gordan Sr (Erin Richards played her in Gotham) bdjdjdk
LMAOOO DIANA VOTING NO FOR THE MONARCHY Isn't this a lie tho?? I'm pretty sure she wanted William on the throne eventually... Oh well fiction wise it's fucking funny This voting scene is brilliant I love it so much What a great cold open!
(I forgot I watched the cold open last night before falling asleep and am rewatching this bit again for my commentary and GOD IT'S EVEN MORE HILARIOUS A SECOND TIME)
Oooh it's Lizzie's birthday Lmaoo not her getting gag gifts from everyone BUT CHARLES Between the boring ass book he got for Di and this, he really is the worst gift giver huh Not Chucky being jealous of Pedodrew's stupid gift Damn Charles really is a masochistic always watching these programs that make him upset Lmaooo not Edward and Pedodrew taking the piss out of him
God Queen Mother shut the fuck up you racist bitch "The Great Chinese Takeaway" 🙄 For fuck's sake and everyone laughing. God fuck these racist asses. Yeah this might be a fictional scene but YOU KNOW these bitches have said worse things behind closed doors. I cannot WAIT til the Queen Mother dies; she's so insufferable. Yall did not compare the liberation of a former colony to an ex attending a wedding jfc yall are the worst Charles is gonna fuck up the Hong Kong trip just watch
Random tangent but Fly Like An Eagle is on Glen Powell (Hangman in the Top Gun sequel)'s playlist for his character and now there's a plane while the song is playing, I fully expected Glen to come out of that plane why am I like this 💀💀
Anyways hiii Dodi what a cutie Is Barbara Gordan Sr playing his wife? Nope she is not. Who is Kelly?? Why do we need to know her Is this scene necessary Peter Morgan?? OH?? HE'S SLEEPING WITH HIS ACTRESS?? Dodi wtf don't be one of those gross producers Oh wait is that his fiancee he dropped for Diana oop Also why did I think she was his ex wife that happened way back in the 80s dhdjkd I'm sorry but I did not need to see that scene lmao it could have been an email Dodi really has a type huh Ew he's doing coke God he really became a Hollywood cliche huh I mean I never knew much about him so I can't say if this is accurate or not but if it is, bro why did you become a Hollywood cliche
I never followed Tony Blair's politics but we like him right?? In that case, Charles you're nothing like him How has the second Mrs. Al Fayed not aged at all 👁👄👁 It's been at least a good 7 years since Ep 3
Don't be fucking crude Mou Mou Let them speak their native language Kelly Yeah it's rude but you're giving White Woman rn djdkkdkd Heini is right lmaooo Okay actually they did do well with her make up to age her a little
WHAT?? His only talent is women??? "One day you'll hit the jackpot"???? What does that meannnn Mou Mou Peter Morgan are you implying Dodi was a golddigger omg This is so uncomfortable pls Kelly is like ???
Damnn let's go Labour Party let's gooo Ohmygod that's Tony Blair?? Huh the one time the irl person is more attractive 💀💀 the actor is fine but Tony Blair was a DILF back in the day come on
Tell me why I feel sad John Major lost 😭😭😭 He was just so nice this season dhkdjd Lmao this historians convo is so meta especially since Peter seems to have a bias for John Major and have given him a hot actor and made him really chill and cool this season Lmaooo Lizzie you did not just say he's your favourite PM LOL bro it's fine the Brittiana is old af time to decomission her
"The youngest Prime Minister since Lord Liverpool in 1812" WELL Rishi Sunak is coming for that title 25 years later yall "And you're still a young man too" LIZZIE STOP LYING HE'S GOT A FULL HEAD OF WHITE HAIR Johnny Lee Miller playing him doesn't make him less old djdkkd
Can you imagine if the note to Blair had said "GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN" lmaooo Johnnn why you lying "A great job" as if you didn't spend this season just babysitting the royals
This boat nonsense plot line is so fucking stupid and pointless. Peter Morgan THIS could have been an email. I do not care for this shit at all They just sound like rich brats which we already knew they were So you could have used another example to show that
NEW BRITAIN SHDJJDJS This is so stupid omg It's just a fucking boat Lizzie let it go
Like I get sentimentality and all but don't anchor (pun absolutely intended) yourself and your sense of self worth to a old piece of metal Like That I would be alot more sympathetic (because we all have sentimental things tied to our memories)1 if they weren't old rich white people who caused so much pain whining about a luxary no one else can afford and expecting the government to keep funding it
HAHAHHAH HE'S IN BUSINESS WHILE THE REST ARE IN FIRST CLASS PLEASEEEE I CACKLED "You're going to have to be very brave" 💀 Camilla it's just business class yall need to calm the fuck down
What the fuck is this visual Mans is not left out of anything This visual metaphor falls so fucking flat when he's literally usually the one drawing the curtain on people Peter Morgan what are you doing
Omggg the Cantonese burning the British flag What icons They're so right for THAT
Okay Heini has grown on me Girlie really grew into her place in the Fayed family huh Good for her "You were so much more than a model. You were a socialite" MOU MOU WHAT This is so cringey pls
I have gone 20 mins after the cold open without Diana WHERE IS SHE Oh lmao here she is I missed you bby Awww her friendship with Mou Mou is everything I wanna h u g her Her voice is always on point I'm shook
God the flashes give me such anxiety The foreshadowing really gives me the deepest pit in my stomach Oh gosh the offer to Saint Topaz,,, the beginning of the end 😭😭 I don't want her to goooo Yeah Elizabeth took a few eps but she finally grew into the role as Diana we love to see it!
We hate Charles but damn doesn't Dominic look good in a uniform God I hate it here Also booo let Hong Kong be it's own country just passing it off to another country I can't even I get so anxious seeing the rainfall on everyone's head they're gonna catch a cold Dominic lost the Charles voice, it needs to be steeper bud
Charles don't be fucking weird Why did you link the ages to her relatives and husband and now son Don't say it Nope yall are not brothers stfu He said it 🤡 Welll he made Blair say it
Lmaooo Blair sick of the yacht talk too hsjjdkd Why do you feel bad sir?? Bruh it's just a boat 💀
YALL JUST GOT DIVORCED A YEAR AGO - Chill the fuck out Chucky Lmaoo Blair is right he was going behind Lizzie's back and briefing against her They always do this They brief against one another It's messy af
The amount of Charles cocksucking happening in this episode is gross Peter Morgan WHAT did he threaten you with Why are you trying to make him out to be this modern innovative man Was he??? Was he really??? Charles so self serving I cannot LMAO NOT CAMILLA WITH THE KNOCK OFF REVENGE DRESS YOU WILL NEVER BE HER
"Friendly invasion" Okayyy China whatever helps you sleep at night
Helloooo Martin,,, I really am a simp for Martin huh. Listen this season hasn't given me a single person in the main Royals other than Diana to feel anything for So Martin's hotness it is I can't believe I'm saying this: but Lizzie should have said No 😭😭 Martin snitching on Chucky hsjdjdk She's gonna TEAR HIM APART
There's 12 minutes left and this is such an unimpressive finale wtf Peter Morgan bruh what are you doinggg I told myself I won't follow press after the mess than is the Bridgerton production team But I NEED to know what Peter was thinking outlining this season The potential was there and yet it flopped Only Eps 3, 7 to 9 were solid episodes
Lmaooo affair "Divorced man whose wife is still alive" I'M SCREAMING Can't believe I'm agreeing with Charles abt his rls rn Oh never mind fuck you Charles No one brought up Diana why you gotta drag her name through the mud K Chucky sureee Camilla has Did their spin doctor write this episode??
SCREAMS "I don't think it's my behaviour threatening its (the monarchy) survival" Rip him apart harder Lizzie come onnn Yesss throw the whole monarchy away Yeah they yeeted yall cos you OPPRESSED THEM FOR 50 YEARS, idiots
I feel nothing for this stupid ship and her farewell God this is so depressing and underwhelming This ep should have just been the cold open only tbh If you aren't gonna commit to the end of the Diana era then leave it all completely to S6 which is so disappointing, I thought they were finish Diana's story this season I was mentally prepared for that And now I gotta be sick again worrying about it and then mentally prepare for it again before S6
That's it??? That was so underwhelming???
40 mins of white people whining abt their boat and losing a country to independence Then 15 mins of Diana's death foreshadowing?? 5 mins of Dodi being a Hollywood producer cliche and Mou Mou being a dick to Kelly??
That's all??? Bruhhhh

📖 • Book Math • 📖
🦇 Good evening, my beloved bookish bats. I'm still working (and probably will for the rest of the weekend) and very tired, but I wanted to show off this stunning edition of Arabian Nights--my all-time favorite classic--which I'm so grateful to have received last year. I will probably show it off a thousand times more, but in the meantime, I'm stealing this cute challenge!
➕ + Addition + Newest on the TBR 🦇 After reading even a QUARTER of One Last Top by Casey McQuiston, I've added all of her backlist books and The Pairing to my TBR. I've been slain. I can't even with this prose and the feels right now. Stay tuned for my rambling review.
➖ - Subtraction - Last Book Finished 🦇 How You Get the Girl by Anita Kelly. I'm so grateful for all the sapphic ARCs I've gotten my hands on this past year.
✖️ x Multiplication x Favorite Book by Favorite Author 🦇 Oh come on. You guys know I don't play favorites. I can't. I will however recommend EVERYTHING by Jill Mansell. If you want a sweet romance, that's who you need to be reading. And her backlist will last you, I promise.
➗ ÷ Division ÷ Favorite Book in a Favorite Series 🦇 Again, not big on picking favorites. I adored Cinder by Marissa Meyer, and though it's not an ALL-TIME favorite series (I mean like, top top tier), A Court of Mist & Fury by Sarah J. Maas comes to mind.
🟰 = Equal = Hoping a Reread is Just as Good 🦇 Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor and Arabian Nights
♾️ & Infinity & Book I Still Think About 🦇 All the Ugly & Wonderful Things by Bryn Greenwood, The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson
❓ #QOTD Answer one of the prompts above!
