So I may have made an au whos main premise is "Eric dumped Mary, eloped with Michael, raised Gerry in a healthy environment and now they hunt Leitners" (more info below)

I even have art

So in this au, instead of staying with Mary after quitting the Institute and getting put into the skin book, Eric broke things off with her and ran away (with Michael's help). Mary decided that they weren't worth stopping and proceeded to put herself into the book.

Eric was raising Gerry by himself, but Michael offered to help, as Eric had some difficulties, both due to his trauma and his disability. They ended up falling in love.

They didn't tell Gerry about the Entities. They wanted him to have a normal childhood. But they still were targeted by the supernatural, especially leitners. They tried to be as discreet about it as they could but Gerry did eventually find out. They sat him one day and explained it all.

And when Gerry was sixteen, he said he wanted to help. So they packed up and left, becoming leitner hunters (but they sure as fuck weren't associated with the Hunt). They rode around Great Britain dealing with cursed books and any other Entity manifestions they encountered.

At some point, Jon and Gerry met. They became friends and eventually lovers. Jon wanted revenge after his encounter with Mr Spider, so he joined in on the family business.

And after pulling his childhood best friend, Martin, out of the Lonely, they became a triad with Gerry, helping their in-laws with the books.

Now they ride around, searching for manifestions and scheming to take down the Institute.

tbh if anyone Needs to ship a michael with a goth, michael crew and oliver banks are right there

anon your ask threw me back into 2008 I love this. from a purely stylistic standpoint* gerry is metal goth which does Not vibe with michael's candy pop scene vibes at all**. also I'm pretty sure metalheads hate scene so there's that.

on the other hand I'd actually argue oliver is emo not goth and he's definitely emo pop punk which is great for oliver/michael because even though there's some emo vs. scene controversy that relationship is the Image of existential color vomit on a black backdrop. 

mike/michael could also work with the color vomit aesthetic but mike isn’t even close to goth. mike dresses like he’s in Howl’s Moving Castle. michael squared would involve SO much pink and jewel tones.

all this being said I'm a fan of eric/michael they have wholesome nerd/weird bitch vibes.

*because from a purely everything standpoint FUCK gerry/michael.

**human michael wasn't brave enough to pull off any remotely alternative aesthetic but the spiral's second door led him to British Hot Topic (which fits bc he got twisted in like 2008? pretty sure it was still major scene/punk in the mid/late-00s).

Wip emoji game - 🤔🗣❔️

🤔Do you have an WIPs where you wish you had chosen a different fandom/character?

Hmmmm, I don't think so. I've always been very happy with the fandoms I'm in while I'm in them. I will say that occasionally while I was writing tma fics I would long for the engagement of bigger fandoms like "I could put other characters in here and get more comments" but really that's just hot air. I love all my blorbos and write them where they belong.

🗣️Talk about your favourite WIP

For Sandman, I really want to write something with Desire... They are just so sexy and so gender. There isn't really a ship with them but I have a doc and I am playing with some ideas. I don't know if I'll ever get it finished, but we shall see!

Do I just want them to rail Hob Gadling?? Very possible.

I don't know which WIP to pick, so here's a snippet from the next chapter of post tenebras lux, which is my EricMichael WIP. Your honour, I love them ^^

“Easy with the vodka, old man,” Michael chided when Eric’s hand slipped and he poured in almost twice as much as the recipe called for. 

There was the zip and pop of over-reaction and immediately the room filled with the scent of lemon zest, spearmint and spirits, strong enough to make their eyes water. 

“It’ll probably be fine, right?” Eric said hopefully, peering into the cauldron. It was bright blue and swirling with incandescent eddies. 

“For what?” Michael was already getting giggly, a hand held over his mouth. “Removing hair?”

Eric laughed, breathy and floaty. Fuck, he was already getting high. He shook his haze away, drawing a sigil in the air above the cauldron while his head was still clear enough. With the murmur of an incantation, the cauldron popped out of sight. 

Hopefully, the randomly appearing cauldron at the bottom of the Thames wouldn’t bother anyone. 

“Well, that’s one way to deal with it.” Michael was flushed, a goofy look on his face. His task sat abandoned, pots half-filled with burn ointment. It would keep for later when his hands were steady again. 

Eric gave into the urge to laugh, bending over almost double, hands clutching his stomach. Michael joined in, the pair of them just standing around and laughing at nothing while the remaining fumes intoxicated them. 

When Eric thought he might be sick from it, he yanked open the door and dragged Michael outside with him, stumbling out the back door and into the relatively fresh air of the side alleyway. 

The giddiness faded a bit with time, and they were left standing opposite each other, propping up their respective walls while the morning drizzle washed their mirth away. The alley was very narrow, barely six feet wide, the two buildings looming up on either side of the secret space. 

Michael watched Eric with a loose, hazy look of appreciation. He was wearing a tank top that day, his dark jeans ripped at the knees, blonde hair shaggy where it was growing just past his ears. He had each of his earlobes pierced twice then, and he wore a small silver hoop in each one. 

It was no mystery to Michael that he loved Eric, even then. Their kiss had wiped away any illusions about his feelings, though his heart had been loyal to Eric from almost the very first day in the library. He knew it was different for Eric, so much more complicated, but it never mattered. Michael just loved him, with his heart and soul, with every action, because that was who he was. 

Now, pliant and indulgent from his high, he can’t stop himself from crossing the space between them, bracketing Eric against the bricks, luxuriating in the heat of his body, the zing and pop of electricty between them. Eric didn’t stop him either, his shoulders moulding into Michael’s grip and his face turned towards him. His expression was soft, full of a desire he usually hid so much better. 

Tiny, crystalline raindrops collected on Eric’s dark eyelashes. Michael cupped his face, kissing them away, lips brushing over his eyes with more tenderness than Eric could ever remember being touched with. 

“Michael…” Eric’s tone was full of caution, but his hands went to Michael’s elbows, pulling him in closer. They were pressed together, Eric held firm between Michael’s body and the wall. 

“Tell me no,” Michael said, voice husky from manic laughter and unhidden lust. His thumbs stroked Eric’s cheeks, their temples resting together, lips so tantalizingly close. “Tell me to get away from you. Tell me I’m not allowed to want you.” 

Eric considered it. He tried, his mouth opened to speak, but came up empty. The words wouldn’t come. He didn’t want to lie to Michael, no matter how much easier he thought it would make things. How much simpler things would be if he didn’t let their attraction complicate their lives. 

“Yes,” Eric said instead, all his walls striped away to leave him open and vulnerable. He surged upward, closing the space between them and bringing their mouths together.
