You said in tags once that pedophiles and child predators aren't the same, can you explain why? /GEN

For the same reason that people with any kind of attraction to anyone ever aren't all rapists/don't all pursue romantic/sexual feelings that could or definitely would hurt the other person. Because paraphilias are simply the morally neutral state of experiencing attraction and rape/grooming is Not That. Because people *choose* to hurt others, but not what they feel. Because a good majority of child sexual abusers aren't even pathologically/paraphilically attracted to children, they *just want to hurt them because they can.* Because they're dissatisfied with something in life, or want a punching bag, or want to feel powerful, etc etc.

It's not really different conceptually from physical abuse. Do people do it because they have icky feelings about liking blood or violence? No. They do it to feel powerful. Sexual abuse is not about sex but about power. Hope this answers your question. I've answered it a good million times on this blog but eh I'm in a generous mood.

Random thoughts about We Are episode 3:

If someone had told me I would like this series, I wouldn't have believe them. I'm surprised by myself, because I'm enjoying it way more than I thought I would. It seems like I'm still into "slice-of-life/uni" series.

▪️ Phum still enjoyed "torturing" Pheem by making him carry his shopping bags, washing his clothes or cooking for him. Pheem despite being reluctant always did all these tasks, but the childish prank Phum pulled on him was too much for him. Phum made him wait for him and Pheem did wait until the mall closed and was even worried about him. I guess Pheem is the type of person who care about everyone and even if he knew Phum likes to tease him, he never thought the prank could go this far. He is annoyed and very angry at him, but the power of a proper apology may work well on him. Indeed, Phum listen to his friends' advice and apologized. He was brooding a lot over the incident.

I believe he has so much more fun around Pheem that he thought he would. Now I'm wondering, did he fall for him before and used the "kick incident" to get closer to Pheem or is he enjoying so much the time he is spending with him that he will fall for him?

▪️ Q and Toey were very cute in this episode. We got more information about how Toey decided to join the Art field thanks to his crush to Q. I really liked the conversation he had with the owner of the cafe. Here and there, the series is giving some life advice and I really like when they are doing this. It's not groundbreaking advices, but I always feel better when seeing it and I believe they may have a good impact on other people who also watch it.

Q and Toey had a funny clay fight and I believe that's the moment Q started to feel something more.

He was very protective to Toey when a senior was flirting with him. Q is also willing to do anything Toey may ask even if he is reluctant at first: singing for him, sharping his pencils or giving him a snack.

We know Toey is already smitten but the slow burn Q is feeling is so nice to watch. I admit I liked the little "jealousy" part of the series. Funny how I hate people who jealous in real life, but I don't mind watching it in series.

▪️ Tan and Fang didn't get a lot of screentime in this episode. Tan bought a cake for Fang, but he didn't want to give it to him so he used Phum as a proxy. I don't think Fang is fooled by Tan's terrible skills at flirting. He knows! He must know! I want to see how he will react, now.

▪️ Pun and Chain had a longer appearance in this episode. They may not be in love (yet) but Chain is taking so much care to Pun. He is doing a lot for him and everyone can see it. They were invited by Tan to enjoy a meal outside and even Tan felt he was third wheeling. Poor Tan. I felt bad for him. Next episode should bring more for the two of them and I can't wait to see Pun and Chain's romance blooming. Pun is clearly my favorite. His little puppy look are just so cute.

▪️ I also want to say that I appreciate how friendships is also shown in the series. We saw how Phum asked for help from his friends, but also how Q care for Pheem even if he hides it under some pretense. Friendship is just another way to love someone. It may not be romantic, but it is a very strong link too.

I'm slowly falling for We Are the series. I hope I will stay interested until the end of the 16th episode!

I was talking about this to a friend a few weeks ago, but I love how Kamille basically starts and ends Zeta Gundam with the same motive - righting a wrong - but the way he internalizes it shows how much he's grown (spoilers below).

Like, when he goes awol and steals the MK II, he's solely in it to pay back the MP who physically assaulted him (which also I could go into a whole other conversation about... dude why did you turn back around when a gundam crashed into the military facility???? anyway). He wants to get revenge for being looked down on, from being toyed around with by the officers on the sidelines. It's a very self-centered and almost egotistical drive.

By the time he's fighting Scirocco however, the rationale is different. Yes, he's still calling out Scirocco for doing much of the same as the MP - watching from the sidelines, messing with people - but Kamille's a changed man. He's now a formal pilot, but he's also learned to love and to lose people, and he's learned that he has the potential to be something more for them. And so he couches this intent in the framework of "sacrificing his life" for it - for a bigger cause, for the people who he cares about.

Until it swallows him whole.

My friend and I started watching Bodies cause we were curious about it and had just finished House of Usher so we were the mood for something else to watch, and we clocked the 1890's detective as gay so fast it's kinda hilarious. Sir you did not need to eye fuck the journalist like that.

random thoughts about castaway diva, episode seven(ette)

We’re starting this episode with how the mom and dad met and it’s the most wholesome thing in the world

« He was the first person who tried to walk at my pace » i let out the biggest awww 🥺 lee uk is the definition of a good man.

I just want to emphasize on how extraordinary of a man lee uk is. He saw a woman who needed help, talked with her about it and was willing to throw his existence away and start anew for that woman. If that doesn’t show how much of a loving and strong man he is, i don’t know what will.

Bo geol being one of the few who isn’t afraid and doesn’t care about lee seo jun’s power is chef’s kiss.

I like that ran joo and mok ha’s « friendship » isn’t linear and has lots of complexities. Yoon ran joo was okay with mok ha singing for her, until the truth was out. She’s become wary of mok ha and sees her as a threat, comparing her to mo rae and thinking mok ha will take this opportunity away from her. Ran joo is letting her emotions get the best of her. She wants to come back and prove her worth so bad that now that there’s an obstacle in front of her, she’s panicking. I do feel for her because she was at a very low point in her life until she met mok ha. Things started to get better but now, she’s facing reality. She’s proving she’s a diva in the sense that she doesn’t want any competition. She fears going back to the dark place she just escaped from. But then, you have mok ha who has never shown any sign of wanting to take the spotlight away from ran joo. She’s a real fan and has proved time and time again how far she’s willing to go to help her idol. Sure, she wants to become a singer, but that doesn’t mean she wants to eradicate the whole competition. She just wants to live her dream. That’s it.

The heartbroken look on mok ha’s face 💔 you can see how much she has endured. She thought being on a deserted island was hard, well she might have involved herself in a situation that’s harder than that. It pains me to see her like that because she’s still a little bit naive. She has proved enough times already how good of a person she is. She even postponed her debut to become ran joo’s manager and help the singer reach the 20 million album sales goal. She already « wasted » 15 years of her life trying to escape from her father, and yet she still chose ran joo before herself and i think you can’t question her loyalty.

I know I make basically next to zero sense but i understand both women.

The dirty look mok ha gave that guy when he called her ugly lmao. How dare you say that to her?

Mo rae’s manager is a scumbag and I’m glad mok ha put him in his place. I’m just mad that everyone wants mok ha to feel guilty for going up on stage and singing. Life was already hard for her, you don’t need to another layer on top of everything she’s been through. Also, you can try to unsettle her but mok ha is stronger than that. I’M ROOTING FOR HER TO WIN THE SHOW!!!

Kang bo geol’s outfit is super cute in this episode and seeing him jealous? MY HEART IS FULL 💗💗💗

I mean how could anyone ever doubt bo geol is ki ho? It’s clear as day! Ever since episode one, they dropped little hints about who’s ki ho. It’s the little details. He cares and it shows.

It was heartwarming to see mok ha sing without hiding and thriving on stage :D Put a big smile on my face.

It's interesting now that woo hak knows the truth the roles are reversed between the two brothers. Woo hak wants to hide everything and Bo geol is tired of hiding and wants to live his life freely. Woo hak trying to make his brother choose the wise decision when bo geol has been suffering for 15 years is insensitive. Now that his memory is back, woo hak is trying to make the entire family follow his plans, just like he's been doing before. It's frustrating to see woo hak being the one making decisions when clearly, the one who suffered the most is bo geol. He's been through so much. It was bound to happen. He finally exploded and he's taking the control back.

NO MOK HA NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Don't go meet mr jung. It's dangerous.

I'll give credit where credit is due, mr jung is veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy clever. That's for sure!

I'm sorry to my girl mok ha but meeting with mr jung was a dumb idea. I've said it time and time again but she is very naive and still has a hard time adapting to the world around her. She shouldn't have talked to him when she has a hard time hiding her emotions. Just like he said, mr jung was a police officer and can see right through her. Now the ki ho hunt can officially start. By the way, he could literally follow her right to her house and find the entire family just like that.

It's bittersweet to see mok ha give up her dream after meeting up with mr jung. On one hand, I understand why she made that decision. It is to protect the whole family after making such a big mistake. On the other hand, seeing her smile when she was on that heyday again stage was such a beautiful sight. She worked so hard to reach that dream and now reality caught up with her and she has basically no other option. I hope she can find a solution and live her dream.

I feel for mok ha because after all her efforts, one mistake made her give up her dream. She's already suffered enough. She feels bad for abandoning her friend (ran joo) and putting the family in danger. Poor girl :( when will this nightmare end?

Bo geol finally revealing his identity!!! YAY I CHEERED :D

It's good to see him finally getting rid of the weight he carried on his shoulders for so long. He's choosing to live his life as ki ho because he doesn't want to be scared any longer. He's Jung Ki Ho and I'm glad to see him embrace his real identity in front of mok ha.

I'm grateful to see bo geol finally show his emotions and be vulnerable. It was hard on him. I just want him (and the whole family) to be happy and live without having to worry about mr jung.

The way he cradles mok ha's head with such delicacy, afraid she'd break if he did it with more force. I. CAN. NOT!

THE HUG 💓💓💓 It's like a wave of relief washed over them. They finally reunited. The way bo geol is hugging her tenderly to show her he's there for her. And the way she's gripping her hands around his vest (idk how it's called) hard, afraid he'll slip away if she didn't. I offically can not handle all of that. (but yes i can, please add more tender moments between the two)

What's with woo hak looking at bo geol and mok ha like that? Don't you dare, I'm talking to you woo hak, put yourself between them!!! I forbid you. You'll meet my two tiny fists in your face if you ever do that, understand?

The preview for next episode seems promising. Hopefully issues will be resolved.

thinking abt sabito lives design again & i started putting him in situations and reminded myself of my hc that he does origami in his off time

my original vampire!sab outfit idea, his white haori's sleeves seem kinda short on him as a 13 yo ghost so actually growing to 21 hed probably need to extend it, so why not recycle his funky pattern shirt for it? yellow-green geometric pattern along all the edges, and for a sabito lives in place of giyuu au why not attach his red haori on the inside

the lady housekeep he hired finding him unresponsive curled up on the floor face down hugging himself while shaking like a leaf, freaking the fuck out thinking hes dying of shock or something- pulls him to sit upright leaned against the wall, try and fail to see if hes hugging himself bc of a wound bc hes just. fucking holding onto himself so tightly. white knuckled muscles locked in place. sends a crow to the butterfly mansion for an emergency and sprints to get the nearest doctor, they arrive and hes not moved from where she propped him up, doctor checks his eyes and sees they respond to light theyre just not looking at anything, tries a few taps on the face and the housekeep worriedly calling out for him. nothing. doctor apologizes for what theyre about to do before slapping the Absolute shit out of him.

knocks him over and his hand suddenly snaps out to latch onto theirs to a painful degree, eyes focused and full of fury before it shorts out to confusion. he blearily lets go of the doctor and hisses at the stinging pain in his face, "the fuck hap-ppened?"

"you were hugging yourself on the floor- and you wouldnt respond- you were just shaking!"

"what do you remember?"

he recoils slightly and shakes his head, "g-give me a minute. fuck.."

"take as long as you need"

focusing his Breath as he haphazardly scrubs his eyes dry with the edges of his sleeves, leaning back against the wall. just breathing for a moment.

"I came home. took a quick bath to-" (wash off the blood) "wash. changed clothes. sat down to do- ..something.."

"do you not remember what you sat down to do?"

"not like that- whatever there is to do. Something. anything. i usually do origami.."

doctor talks yadda yadda makes sure he doesnt have immediate brain damage or actively bleeding wounds & leaves with their promise of another doctor on their way

"sabito-san..? what exactly happened..?" he softens a sad look at her

("my mother used to help keep this place up for the man before you." he smiled, "eh? your mother kept the place intact for my mentor. how nice that you're here to help me out now, ne?")

"bad mission, ("oh..") there was a young boy. i fucked up, the demon killed him." he inhaled through his teeth, "i had to tell his family while covered with his brains."

she recoiled, reached out to lay a comforting hand on his shoulder, "im so sorry..."

he let his head loll back against the wall, "its fine"

"its not..."

"its not. but it is what it is, and its over with."

"...kocho-sama should be on her way."

he quietly groaned, "thank you. ...was it that scary?"

"you usually hide it with some sort of smile. i cant imagine how you do that if its bad enough to make you look like youre dying when you cant stuff it away anymore.."

"heh, sorry to scare you like that..."

"dont be. talk to kocho-sama and see if she can help you. i just dont want you to be in so much pain.."

he smiled genuinely at that, "you really help. talking with you and helping with chores makes it easy to smile."

easy to forget that hes alone. easy to forget pretty piercing blue eyes, what they look like wide with fear and never what they look like in death. blood that tints his memories old and new. blood that he coats himself in, blood he refuses to wash away- blood thats all he has left of him.

sabito has a little stall at the end of the market in the nearby village, just big enough for himself and a few bundles of paper, out of the way of the busier sections. most people pass seeing how he only has a few paper figures and a bunch of colored paper to sell. a few stop by, intrigued by what he could possibly be doing here.

"whats your favorite animal?"

they answer, he picks out a piece of paper and starts folding, he gives them a little guy

"you never said how much??"

"i dont need money, i just do it 'cuz its fun. want another one?"

people bring their friends to get a little paper creature, talk and laugh, enjoy their new little guys. it makes him smile.

a lady walks up, cant name a creature so he suggests a surprise animal based on her, "sure." he starts folding, eventually she recognizes it "an elephant!?" "yeah," not really looking at her as hes finishing it, "theyre kind animals, 'gentle giants', but theyre still very powerful. predators have to pick off the sick or young because the healthy adults are too strong to be brought down. smart too. i also read that theyre matriarchs- the oldest wisest female usually leads the herd. she shows everyone how to be an elephant, where to find food, how to navigate their world, safest places to travel. she's their guide and teacher." he sets it down closer to her, "you make me think of an elephant."

"oh," she looks at him stunned, "thank you."

he smiles, "careful not to squish it, if you do though i can just make another one for you. have a nice rest of your shopping trip."
