What are our favorite Elites up to?
Well, here’s the afternoon tea, or should I say T because first up is Prince T who was last seen skulking down Berkeley Square with his hands in his coat pockets, looking uncharacteristically angsty and preoccupied. Is Little T’s upcoming marriage the source of his concern? Or maybe there’s something juicier bothering him?
J is back in the city and her first stop was one of those customized T-shirt places in Bow Road, where she was caught picking up a custom-made baby tee with her husband, M —quite literally, that’s his name. Could it be true that Little T and that other M are mixing their upcoming wedding with a baby gender reveal party? Apparently J couldn’t wait to be the first congratulating the soon-to-be parents.
Little T was driving all the way to Manchester in a convertible Jag to watch a certain dress rehearsal. Our readers have been debating whether or not the muggle artifact is a gift courtesy of His Royal Highness himself, or just some eccentric present from a certain k-pop star. What is pretty clear is that the car is an engagement token and surely, Little T was rocking it.
M —and I mean our Empress— and her business partner —where is her actual partner, btw?— were spotted ordering chai at The Connaught. E looked a bit let down by the choice, maybe he was wishing for something more mood-altering?
Meanwhile Baby E —that’s Emily Choi, of course— and L enjoyed a little PDA as usual as they strolled down St. Katharine’s Way. Sources claim she’s never had a boyfriend for more than five minutes, so we’ll see how long this lasts…
And if you’re wondering about me, I’m off to planning a seasonal getaway. Spring is less than two weeks away, and with all the slush and sleet and subzero temperatures, it’s about time. Some of us— including yours truly—will spend our vacation wisely, sunning in the latest designer string bikinis on remote Mediterranean beaches.
But no need to worry. Wherever I go, I still will be here to fill you in on anything and everything worth talking about.

Victor Capoul & Cécile Ritter-Ciampi
Victor Capoul (1839-1924) was a French lyric tenor whose thirty-five-year career spanned the latter part of the 19th century. Born Joseph Victor Amédée Capoul in Toulouse, he received his musical education at the Paris Conservatory, where he studied with renowned French tenor Alphonse Révial (1810-1871). Following his graduation, Capoul made his debut at the Opéra-Comique as Daniel in Adam’s Le Châlet in 1861. The young tenor became a popular artist with the theater and remained a regular member of the company for the next nine seasons. In 1871 he made his first appearance in London as Gounod’s Faust at Drury Lane and made his American debut later that year at the New York Academy of Music as Wilhelm Meister in Mignon. In 1877, Capoul made his Covent Garden debut as Auber’s Fra Diavolo, also singing Almaviva in Barbiere di Siviglia, Ernesto in Don Pasquale and Elvino in La Sonnambula that same season. Capoul returned to New York in 1879 to sing the role of the poet Ange-Pitou in Charles Lecocq’s La Fille de Madame Angot at Grau’s French Opera Company. The tenor’s Metropolitan Opera debut occurred during the company’s inaugural season, on October 27, 1883 as Faust. Capoul sang 25 performances of six roles during his first season with the Met…the aforementioned Faust, Wilhelm Meister, Almaviva, Alfredo in La Traviata, Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor and (although one wonders how he negotiated the demands of the role) Enzo in La Gioconda. Although his acting and stage deportment were praised, critics complained of the tenor’s “almost inaudible half voice” and remarked that “ his singing was often short of the enjoyable.” It is not surprising that when Capoul returned to the Met for the 1891/92 season, he was relegated to the secondary roles of Tybalt in Roméo et Juliette and Cassio in Otello. His final appearance with the company was a concert on April 24, 1896. During a Testimonial Performance to Henry E. Abbey and Maurice Grau, Capoul sang as part of the Soldiers’ Chorus from Gounod’s Faust. Considering that he had made his debut with the company in the title role of this same opera some thirteen years previously, this seems something of a sad comedown. Capoul remained in New York for several years, having been appointed opera coach and professor of voice at The National Conservatory of Music of America in 1892. His singing days now behind him, Capoul returned to Paris in January of 1900, making a bid for the position of General Director of the Opéra-Comique. When he was declined, his old friend and colleague Pierre Gailhard appointed him Director of Theatrical Studies at the Opéra de Paris. Now regarded as one of the leading stage directors for French and Italian opera, Capoul returned to New York in 1906 to direct productions for Hammerstein’s Manhattan Opera Company. Sadly, he was plagued by increasing deafness that greatly hampered his artistic activities. He retired to the south of France and lived quite comfortably until wartime investments stripped him of his fortune. To raise a bit of capital, the tenor tried to auction off some of the mementos from his career. When there were no takers, he angrily burned all of his costumes, scores and photographs. Capoul lived out his final years on his little farm near the village of Pujaudran-du-Gers, subsisting on a small pension. Penniless, bitter and forgotten, he passed away on February 18, 1924, just a week shy of his 85th birthday, a tragic end for such a great artist. Victor Capoul boasted a diverse repertoire of nearly 40 roles in opera and operetta, including Tonio in La Fille du Régiment, Georges in La Dame Blanche, The Duke in Rigoletto, des Grieux in Manon, Lionel in Martha and the title roles in Meyerbeer’s Robert le Diable and Méhul’s Joseph. He created the tenor leads in a number of works such as Gounod’s La Colombe and Offenbach’s Vert-Vert. In addition to Paris, London and New York (the cities where he spent most of his career), Capoul travelled to Monte Carlo, Brussels, Moscow,
St. Petersburg, Vienna and Quebec. He also co-authored the librettos for Godard’s opera Jocelyn and Camondo’s operetta Le Clown. Although the tenor never possessed an extraordinary voice, he did cultivate a remarkable technique and built his reputation on artistry, musicality and magnetism. His recorded legacy consists of a single aria, “Oh! Ne t'éveille pas encore” from Godard’s Jocelyn. Four takes were recorded for Fonotipia in Paris in 1905, two of which are known to survive. Although Capoul’s vocal resources are greatly diminished…not to mention the fact that he was nearly stone deaf…he manages to give a fascinating performance, leaving us something of a time capsule from the world of 19th century French opera.

“I can’t believe them” Enzo St. Pierre’s voice echoes in the silence of Minah’s large office. For a man with quite a free-spirited approach to life and his easy-going temperament, he sounds particularly bitter. Minah ignores her friend for a brief moment in favor of the contract in front of her. After all, Enzo had installed himself on the pink velvet sofa across her desk hours ago and so far he’d done nothing but to watch her go through paperwork as he scrolled down his OwLine’s —Sungjae’s latest social media app— feed.
Now, despite the rumors that circulate about him, Minah knows that Enzo Saint-Pierre is not one to enjoy watching women like some creep. No, Enzo can’t lie for his life —at least not to Minah—, so she is aware that the only reason he’s pretending to wait for her approval before embarking on a new project is the long-forgotten mail in his office that keeps —literally— exploiting on his desk.
Biting down a laugh, the young woman watches Enzo toss his phone on the couch with a scoff and the sudden urge to discuss Gossip Witch’s latest blast prompts her to push aside the stack of documents in front of her.
“So you heard about the Olivier’s launching a lipstick collection?” she asks visibly amused.
“What?” For a second or two, Enzo seems the slightest bit perplexed, but his confusion quickly morphs into a disgusted frown. “Eww. No. That’s obviously a desperate attempt to one-up our company and we’ll get back to this real quick, but I am talking about Tara and Yang” Enzo says, leaping out of his seat to slide his phone across Minah’s desk.
Minah can’t remember a time Enzo has ever used that uncharacteristic whiny tone to talk about his best friend and her boyfriend, so she eyes him with a confused frown.
Moving closer to her, Enzo simply deadpans “They got engaged”.
“Engaged?” The young woman looks at Enzo over the rim of her Dior reading glasses, almost refusing to believe one of their closest friends —and arguably the wisest of them all— would make such a life-changing decision overnight. This is surely her business partner reading that Gossip Witch rip-off website again. “Love, I’ve told you to stop reading that fake Gossip Witch page-”
Enzo rolls eyes fleetingly before pushing his phone closer to Minah. “This is real, Min. Look for yourself”
Still downplaying the situation, Minah slowly takes her glasses off and grabs Enzo’s phone. She almost has an “I-told-you-so” escaping from her crimson lips when her eyes catch a glimpse of a red box on the screen. Minah blinks twice before reading Tara’s very simple message. “Mark proposed”. Two pictures are attached as proof: the first one shows a huge diamond ring —Cartier, evidently—; the other captures Mark and Tara smiling brightly to the camera, he's holding his guitar with one hand while his free arm holds his girlfriend's waist.
“Well, this is-“ Minah flounders at a loss for words, unsure of what and how she is supposed to feel. Surely those are good news, but there is also a part of her that feels wronged by the fact she is finding out about them through a message sent to Enzo.
“Horrible” Enzo completes the unfinished sentence, a huff slipping past his lips.
“No!” Minah is quick to deny. She throws her shoulders back and fixes her position to appear composed “I mean, completely unexpected yes, but those are great news.” She goes on, in an attempt to brainwash herself into believing she isn’t offended at all “I just-“ The woman purposely ignores the way Enzo rolls eyes for a second time and instead reaches for her own phone, secretly hoping that Tara had the courtesy to inform her too. “Isn’t Mark famous? Why would he propose without a big eve- wait, did he plan a proposal event and kept us out of it?” She bombards Enzo with questions as she goes through the dozens of messages she’d received that morning, a cold trickle of anger shivering down her spine when she realizes she has received the exact same message.

Camden Town - Leah Richmond’s house
On the other side of Regent’s Park, in a small residence in Camden Town and with Natalie Imbruglia’s most —and probably only— famous song playing in the background, Leah Richmond walks into her kitchen to find the broad-shouldered and tall figure of Johnny Suh. Her first instinct is to laugh at how ridiculously cute her boyfriend looks, dressed in a simple t-shirt, cuffed jeans that barely cover his ankles, and a yellow apron with a silly duck print, but upon registering the way he is angrily holding a frying pan and a plastic spatula, she decides against it.
“Is this about to become another how-do-you-even-survive-without-me speech?” Leah questions biting the inside of her cheek when he turns to look at her. The fact she has gotten used to Johnny’s slightly obsessive cleaning habits and long rants that remind her of her mother doesn’t mean she’s learned to appreciate them. Especially not when she has huge news to deliver. “If yes, I’d like to skip it or save it until you hear the news. I was on the phone with Tara and you won’t believe-”
“How stupid Mark is?” Johnny interrupts, he places the frying pan and the spatula on the counter before turning to the fridge. “You’d think he can’t possibly get worse, but he always delivers. I’m actually glad Tara is…” Johnny makes a pause to look at Leah and see her reaction, so far she looks perfectly confused. “…so brainwashed or so in love, whichever it is” he shrugs, earning a soft chuckle from his girlfriend.
“Wow, news surely travel fast.” Leah rolls eyes playfully and clicks her tongue disapprovingly “And Tara said I was the first person she called”
“Well, Mark was panicking and about to tell Tara he was joking, so-” Johnny pulls the fridge open with such force the door ends up hitting the wall. Johnny stops on his tracks, shocked by his own strength and expression mildly panicked making its way onto his face. Leah still wants to laugh, but there’s something holding her back, something she can’t quite figure out yet
In its place, she glares at her boyfriend until he’s purposely avoiding her eyes. “Great, destroy my house because you’re jealous of your crush getting married”
“And who are you even marrying to?” Johnny replies smoothly, earning himself a quick peck on the lips and a soft slap on the shoulder. Leah also gifts him with an inexplicable warmth spreading in his chest as she laughs.
“Now, for real, I know Tara doesn’t really care about that kind of thing, but I can’t believe Mark improvised a proposal.” Johnny pulls out a carton of eggs, picks a couple of tomatoes and pushes the fridge close with a loud thud. “That’s no way to ask the love of your life to marry you, where did he even learn about relationships? Clearly not from me or Taeyong” Johnny shakes his head in disapproval as he moves around the kitchen opening cabinets and taking out ingredients and supplies “I hope Mark is dealt with accordingly, no woman deserves such a lackluster proposal. Especially not Tara.”
“Well, knowing Ara and Adela, I’ll be surprised if Mark even makes it to dinner tonight” Leah chuckles “And don’t forget Enzo”
“Or her brother” Johnny shudders involuntarily when the image of Tyler Lee invades his mind. “Tara will be lucky if Mark even makes it to the wedding”
Minutes later when Johnny settles a plate of scrambled eggs and a mug of steaming coffee in front of her and complains about Mark’s “lack of creative effort in the romance department”, Leah finally dares to ask a question that has been reverberating inside her brain. “Hey, Suh, what’s the right way to propose to a girl then?”
Johnny is briefly taken aback. His eyes widen the slightest bit and he gulps almost imperceptibly before replying with a smart “You’ll know when I do it” that leaves Leah bursting out in laughter but feeling oddly flattered.

“Your adventure awaits, darling.”
BREAK.
They separate with few words.
“Good luck.”
“Stay in touch.”
“I wouldn’t recommend it, sweets.”
“Oh… I forgot.”
“Unless Nik is in town, don’t spare me many thoughts.”
“I don’t suppose I’d be in yours.”
“You’d be the furthest thing from my mind.”
She set herself up from the sting, seeing as he’d be the last familiar face she’d see in the while, but it could be worse. She could be facing one of the many she foolishly called friends back in Mystic Falls.
“Remember, live your life to the fullest. We’re fortunate to get another chance.”
“You, too. I hope you get to experience more of it.”
“Off you go, your train departs in two minutes.”
“Bye, Kol…. Thank you. For everything.”
“Don’t mention it.”
She was left to her own devices for six hours. She wondered if she could get a hold of Enzo, but London was so big. What’s the chance of running into him? In the meanwhile, she found herself lost in the landscape. Who knew what she was missing? She leaned against the window, smiling for the first time since she escaped the deathly entrapments of the Other Side.
No one knew they had escaped, not even Bonnie who conjured the miraculous spell. If they had, they didn’t try to reach out to Caroline. She didn’t know which alternative felt worst. A tear slips from one of her eyes, but she wipes it away. Luckily, she stowed herself away from the crowd and no one noticed her emotional plight.
She should make a memorial for her mother – since she can’t go back to bury her. Maybe Stefan or Damon would do the Sheriff right and give her a proper funeral. She’d try to read about it, she determined.
She uses her cash sparingly. She finds a cheap hotel and settles in for the night. In the meanwhile, she shops for a weeks’ worth of clothes and a luggage bag she can tow on her shoulder. She’ll try to find another source of income to garner other necessities. She missed having her curling iron, however frivolous it may be.
Kol told her to not settle but damnit, she needed money.
So, she took a job at a book shop, imagine that.
Turns out, that job reaped more perks than not. First, during her spare time, she read like crazy. She memorized places, phrases, history, you name it.
Hell, she even looked up census records for Enzo St. John in hopes she could find his own residence. She explored the city, memorized the routes, and found herself familiarizing faces.
Exactly what she had been advised not to do.
However, one of those faces became a valuable network point. He was an elderly gentleman with no heirs. He was captivated by the American blonde manning the desk. He offered her wisdom, food for money, and explained she reminded him of his granddaughter. Both she and his only son perished in a tragic car accident. He was widowed not long after. His time was up, and he was grateful she could provide him some closure with her mere presence.
When he passed three years later, she was truly heartbroken. It was nice to have someone to talk to. In his will, Audrey Greer received his estate – a small two-story home and his savings that equated to two-hundred-thousand American dollars. On top of what she had already saved from her job by renting the pathetic excuse of an apartment, she put in her two weeks noticed and abandoned her hopes to find Enzo in London, and London altogether.
Her next stop was Ireland.
She found a decent place in Galway and worked nights at the Pub. She began networking there. Vampires flourished in Galway (especially her port city). They could be rough, but she held her own. She even befriended a couple of them who recommended another place to stay. (“I know the fellow who rents the old schoolhouse. They got a spare, if you’d like. I could put in a good word.”)
She fit in like a glove.
She loved the sea, she loved the cobblestone, and she adored the accents.
She ventured to the rolling green hills during her free time. She basked in the sunlight that broke through the clouds. She sailed once, manned by her friend Bryce. She stood bravely on the cliff’s edge overlooking the sea. She rode a horse over the fields and felt truly liberated on the white-seared stallion.
She held onto those memories, even though she stayed no more than two years.
Kol had tipped her that Klaus was heading to Ireland for private matters. He had sent a mutual friend, Liam, that had no idea the message he conveyed was directed towards her. (“I was told to look out for this bloke’s brother coming through soon.”) She never packed faster in her life. Her friends hosted a dinner in her honor and she kissed them all affectionately, hoping she’d see them again one more day. She didn’t explain the real reason why she left suddenly – simply that she heard a friend had died and needed to get their affairs in order.
They sent with her a commemorating photo – the one of her adorning her favorite blue blouse and shorts while adjusting ropes on Bryce’s boat. She didn’t know if it’d be suspicious to ask them to not show anyone else but by then it was too late. She was a thousand of miles away.
Literally.
She was in Queensland, Australia.
She put her experience in bartending to good use and obtained a job at a local tavern. She shared a photo with one of those goliath spiders – a huntsman, she recalled – that her coworker shot of her before she screamed bloody murder. The experience was a fond one, looking back, and she saved it in her collection.
She loved the beaches and the warmth. It was nearly tank top whether every day and she basked in the sun. She missed those days. She stayed for four years. It was pure bliss – aside from the critters and that one snake that refused to die that lingered outside her porch.
She had to relocate, once again reminded by Kol’s advice. Klaus wasn’t sighted but Katherine was. She could not afford to be sold out by the notorious opportunist. So, she switched gears and relocated to Los Angeles, CA.
It nearly killed her budget, but she loved the sunshine too much to part with it quite yet. She waitressed for a while but found it painfully exhausting. She was a vampire! For almost ten years, she spent covering her identity with demeaning jobs and barley any roots.
She ventured back to Ireland. She’d come to love it and the people there. She reunited with her friends briefly before venturing out, to Dublin, where her networking connected her to mutual friends that had reserved her a modest rental and a job already lined up, this time managing a hotel.
It was a huge leap.
She utilized the access of the University library often.
St. Patrick’s Day was astounding. She’d make a promise to attend it every year.
She also fancied Irish dancing but wasn’t as talented at as her friend Iona. That didn’t deter her from trying. Certainly, there were photos recounting the times she paled miserably compared to the busty redhead. Nonetheless, the laughed heartily, and split a beer.
She split from Dublin after two years. She boldly declared she would venture from her safe haven and try something new: France.
She studied the language meticulously and needed more experience, so off she went. The farewell was bittersweet, but she bravely ventured to Paris.
It was beautiful.
At first, it was intimidating but the locals were encouraging and were impressed by her attempts. She flourished under the city lights and embraced the fashion. She admired the art, flocked to the museums, and got a job as a curator.
It was risky, given she knew Klaus had a hand in the art community, but damnit, she deserved to flourish, and that was a great job.
She had many suitors, but she declined them all. She pretended her heart was in Ireland, which was true, but not in the form of a man, rather she dreamed of the majestic hills and the people who welcomed her.
Until one day, a familiar face came into work.
“Hello, gorgeous.”
She nearly dropped her phone.
“How – I looked for you, in London,” she let it slip in English.
“Had some business in Berlin,” he replied. “I heard from Kol that you’d be somewhere in Galway, but I was too late. I went to Dublin when Liam said you went there. Your friends said I was late a couple of months. I almost gave up on you,” he explained, “until I caught wind you’d be Louvre.”
“From who,” she asked in a panic.
“A redhead?”
“Oh,” she breathed in relief. Iona – the one who had a contact in management – the ex-lover, Pierre. She stepped forward and embraced the brunette. “I’m so glad to see you,” she mumbled into his shoulder. He squeezed her just as surely, inhaling her hair.
“I missed you, too,” he whispered. He hesitated to let her go but relented after a moment had passed. He held her at arm’s length, taking her in. “You look good.”
She was breath taking. A true vision. Her meticulously curled hair shone. Her blue-green eyes sparkled. Her red-lipped smile beamed.
He was dark haired and handsome. She liked the warmth of his eyes, his dimples, and the way his combed his hair back. She reluctantly let her hands fall from his broad shoulders – another featured she admired about his frame.
“I can say the same for you,” she returned jovially. “I’m almost done. Let’s go out for lunch! Hold on a moment.”
They caught up for the past decade over handmade pastries outside a charming café. She invited him to her apartment rather than him paying for hotel fare. It was a dangerous request, but she knew what she was getting into. The moment they reunited, sparks flew, and she promised both Kol and to herself she’d start taking chances.
Her blouse didn’t survive ten minutes the moment they walked through the door.
Neither did his shirt. Luckily, they both had a spare – which she stole his next morning to flaunt post-coitus.
The sex was phenomenal. Toe curling, mind-blowing sex. She had lovers before – one-night stands that didn’t quite understand her body in drunken episodes. Enzo, however, was the most selfless of them all. He worshipped her body, caressed her tenderly, took her roughly, and left her boneless in bed while whispering sweet things in her ear.
They ravished each other on the counter.
They cleared off her desk in a flurry and christened the mahogany.
She spoke dirty things in both English and French. She may have uttered some Old Irish, too.
Enzo, by far, had the best endurance yet, and she wasn’t quite yet ready to part with his talented hands or lips. Or tongue.
“I’m going to New York. Only for a short while,” he added, seeing her face fall. “I’ll come back. I promise.” He kissed her, hands not quite bruising her thighs as she pulled him by her legs. Her arms entangling around his neck and she bores into his eyes, revealing a new layer of vulnerability that she didn’t realize was there.
“You better or else I’ll hunt you down, St. John.”
“Wouldn’t want that,” he grinned, kissing her swollen lips one more time.
“Go, or else I’ll make you stay,” she threatened playfully.
“Minx,” he bit into her skin. The next moment, he was gone, and she felt the void almost immediately. She would never admit she cried or that she wiped her tears with the sleeves of his forgotten shirt.
He came back four days later. She refused to let him go.
“Missed me?”
“Yes,” she mumbled, not the least bit shamed.
His hand soothes her hair, starting from the crown to the base of her neck and the other fisting the back of her shirt.
“Good, because I couldn’t stand the distance,” he growled, pulling away only to latch his lips onto hers. He didn’t bother to break the kiss when his bag broke a lamp after he’d thrown it carelessly across the room. Neither did she.
She didn’t think she’d hit her climax so many times in a row, but Enzo wouldn’t be satisfied until she saw stars. She did. She definitely did.
He took her dancing – the classical kind, where distance didn’t exist. She wore a striking red dress and he wore his best shirt. It’d been the most romantic thing since Klaus’s sketches. (She didn’t have those anymore – nor did she want them). They enjoyed evening strolls. They had a strict regimen each morning that required at least one orgasm each – it was wonderful.
Kol said it was sickeningly sweet when he eventually visited the couple. By then, Paris was behind them, and relocated to Berlin where Enzo was the main translator. Caroline was quick to learn though.
“Have you been to Moscow yet?” Kol quizzed.
“No,” Caroline answered from the kitchen. Enzo was close behind, tending to the vegetables as they prepared dinner. (“So domestic. It’s nauseating.”) “Why? Should we retreat there?”
“Oh no, I was going to say steer clear. My dear brother – Elijah, not Nik – has ventured there for business. You’re fine. I heard Nik is in New Orleans. Same old news – some uprising here, rebellion there, massacre all the same. You’re fine. Continue with your bloody honeymoon,” Kol faked a gag.
“What about yourself? You don’t want to find someone that makes you feel… like home?” Enzo pried. Caroline smiled adoringly at him and joined his rank, hugging him from the side while his arm curled around her frame.
“I like being a nomad,” Kol declared himself. “I will not be trapped. Not even by a pretty face like yourself.”
“Suit yourself,” Caroline shrugged. She returned to the pot on the stove and stirred. Enzo offered his finished product and poured the celery into the boiling mix. They quickly pecked and exchanged incandescent words – something about the day’s festivities – Kol overheard.
“I will take my leave,” Kol announced. “Glad to see you survive so far, Caroline. You, too, Enzo.”
“Nice see you, too, Kol,” Enzo saw him out. They shared a pat on the shoulders and locked the door when he left. He returned to the blonde and kissed her temple. “I have a feeling we should be worried.”
“You aren’t the only one,” she affirmed, the doubt evident in her eyes. “Where should we go?”
BREAK
They have their wedding in Paris, twelve years after they reunited at the Louvre.
Kol is invited and surprisingly, he shows, wearing a tuxedo.
“Glad you came, mate,” Enzo greeted tenderly.
Caroline fussed over her dress, accompanied by her friends. Iona from Ireland and her beau, Pierre (for the 5th time), Aishling, Sherri, Christa, Jacqueline, and Serena composing as her party of bridesmaids. She reminisced about her childhood friend, Bonnie, but she forced the thoughts back. She’d be there in spirit but nothing more.
Caroline had a new chapter in her life and could not afford to return to the ones she’s closed.
Iona earned the title of maid of honor and she graced the reception with her brilliant Irish dancing. Kol stayed throughout the whole ordeal of a wedding, captivated by the success of the two resurrected vampires coming together in undeniable happiness.
Caroline was beautiful. She chose a vintage design, with the fabric hanging off her shoulders so they’d be bare (aside from the brilliant necklace he gifted her) and the rest of the dress staying close to her skin rather than plum out. Her hair, longer now, cascaded in waves down her back and some thrown over her shoulder. A modest veil covered her face until it was no longer needed.
Kol had walked her down the aisle when she almost broke down and (luckily didn’t) spoil her makeup over the reminder she had no parent to give her away. He then joined Enzo’s side as one of the best men.
Enzo was radiating joy like no other.
They wedding was small – composing of friends who had stayed in touch – and witnessed the vows shared between ‘Audrey Carolina Greer’ and Lorenzo St. John. They cheered at the kiss between husband and wife and took more photos than Caroline knew she could manage in her scrapbook.
At the end, they commemorated her parents by presenting empty seats – occupied by the memory of the late Forbes’ (although everyone else knew them as the Greer’s). Enzo did a similar set, as but added two more for his missing sisters.
The first dance was magical, as was the second. They all got sloshed at the pub and Kol carried an unconscious Caroline to their apartment while Enzo leaned heavily on his left. They didn’t remember any of it other than waking up blissfully in the other’s arms. Kol had departed by then, retreating to his York estate. He did leave a note congratulating them and wishing them the best.
The photos were superb, and one hung in a large frame above the fire place of their new house – a castle Caroline had saved for. It was modest, but it was historic and had the character she desired. It took work, but she loved that castle with all her heart. They walked each morning on the fields, admiring the fog, and hosted many dinners.
They even added horses, one of which became her favorite – a black mare that loved brisk morning walks. There were many photos of them together, and then some with Enzo and his favorite steed, a patient paint named Molly.
Kol had caught a glimpse of them when he made another visit.
She was a vision, galloping freely through the field. Her hair was flying behind her, shirt untucked. He distinctly remembered her red vest and tan pants.
She was thriving.
Enzo chased after her, laughing all the way as she goaded him.
Kol found their company comforting and could not deny the fact he was seeking them out more often. It wasn’t safe, especially after hearing Nik caught wind of the rumors of Kol’s reemergence. He had to protect his friends, but he couldn’t bear to quite yet part with them.
“Kol!” Caroline delightfully called out when she spotted his figure make his way up the driveway. She steered Morgana – the horse – his way and met him in the middle.
“Mrs. St. John,” Kol smiled. “Lovely to see you.”
“So formal,” she nitpicked. “Caroline will do.”
“Caroline,” Kol remedied. She beamed. Her smile was contagious. He looked around the plot. “I like the changes. Show me around?”
“Of course,” she obliged. She unsaddled her horse and walked him up the driveway.
BREAK
“Will I ever see you again?” Caroline broke the silence.
She was upset. That was underestimate.
“Maybe,” Kol shrugged. “Maybe not.”
He knew he had to tell her this was likely the last time in a long time he’d be able to see them.
“I’ll miss you,” she admitted. “You been a huge part of my life, our life, believe it or not. I know why you have to do it and I appreciate you’re thinking of us but…” her lip trembled. “It’s not fair. You’ve been a good friend to us and I hate to see you go away.”
Kol felt an unusual warmth and heaviness in his chest. Was this what it meant to be cared about?
“I’m sorry you have to go, mate,” mate pulled him into a hug. “I’m glad you could tell us in person. If you need anything, you know where to find us.”
“Give me a hug, too,” Caroline whimpered, on the verge of tears. Kol obliged and picked her up in doing so. She was so much smaller compared to him. She broke down into his shoulder. She held him tight and he felt his throat constrict, hiding his own temptation to shed tears over the moment.
It was horrible. He long since come to terms they were genuine friends. Family was a stretch but, if he could make a family, they’d be what he’d envision. To part with the people that he could trust was a harder feat that he could fathom.
He swallowed harshly and eventually forced some distance between the couple and himself.
“You take care of yourself.” Kol bid them.
“Bye, Kol,” Caroline sniffled. Enzo offered a grim smile.
“You, too, mate.”

They got married? :O That was seriously unexpected haha Also Caroline enjoying life, and learning things and travelling is always great ^^ although if i was a vampire i certainly wouldn’t get any jobs, i’d just use my compulsion to get what I want :P but Caroline doesn’t enjoy using that as much ‘cause of what happened to her...also Carenzo huh?? I wonder if they stay together married, or if they evetually just stay as friends??? is this gonna end up with Klaroline?? Or is this more about Caroline and her life ahhhhhhhhh! Also also Kooool my boy, finally feeling close to someone, considering them friends even perhaps family but knowing he can’t see them because it’d endanger them *cries* he deserves better!! Fuck you Klaus, let my boi alone!!

Jet-setting to follow the money

When the yachts go south and it becomes less of a feat to get a reservation at the East Hampton Grill or other local haunts, the residential brokers in the Hamptons have to come up with creative ways to network and keep their pipeline of business flowing.
Some globetrot to chase down clients. Others meet with potential clients in Manhattan. And many keep contractors on track.
“The fall is kind of a breather, but it’s also really a time to set yourself up for the winter and spring,” said Brown Harris Stevens agent Christopher Burnside.
And different brokers, of course, take different approaches to doing that.
Douglas Elliman’s Enzo Morabito said he attends events like Art Basel in Miami Beach — which takes place every December (he’s going this year) — and the Super Bowl in February, “which is when buyers start to come out again.”
“In this business, business and social are the same things,” said Morabito.
Last year at Art Basel, he ran into a fellow Elliman agent with a Florida client hunting for a newly built waterfront house in the Hamptons. Morabito suggested his listing at 611 Dune Road in Westhampton and the deal closed for $6.7 million in February, he said.
Meanwhile, top East End agent Susan Breitenbach, of the Corcoran Group, is also a regular at Art Basel — and an advertiser there. “You definitely see a lot of Hamptons people there,” said Breitenbach, who also relocates her 67-foot powerboat from Sag Harbor to Miami Beach in the winter.
Breitenbach often gets referrals from Jill Hertzberg and Jill Eber, better known as the “the Jills.” The duo — who recently teamed up with Judy Zeder — are at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, which shares a corporate parent (Realogy) with Corcoran. Corcoran, which opened a new Miami Beach office in September, also sends her leads.
At press time, Breitenbach was nearing a closing with one of those buyers on a Sagaponack property. She said she also spends a week every February on a boat in St. Bart’s chartered by clients. “I’m on the phone the whole time, but so are they, so it’s okay,” she said.
BHS’ Burnside — who in the summer zips clients around in his 42-foot motorboat, which he uses to check out estates from the water — also usually goes to Florida in the winter. He bounces between borrowed condos in Palm Beach and Miami and spends weekends with “customers who are also friends.”
But now, with the Hamptons’ market seeing a slow off-season, those trips have taken on added importance. Burnside’s 10-year-old daughter, Amelia, a competitive equestrian, will train this winter in the wealthy village of Wellington, which is thick with potential East End buyers.
For the month of December, while Amelia works on her jumping, Burnside will, for the first time, work out of BHS’ Palm Beach office. By then, he hopes to have a Florida real estate license so that he can also list Palm Bach houses owned by Hamptons homeowners. “It seems like there is a lot of money in the horse world,” said Burnside, who was tapped by developer David Walentas to market 12 new-construction spec homes on the site of his Two Trees Farm, another equestrian spot, in Bridgehampton. (Those homes sold, but he’s still marketing the original farm, which is on the market for about $18 million.)
Corcoran’s Gary DePersia, meanwhile, turns his attention to Aspen in the winter, making frequent trips there and buying ads in Aspen and Aspen Peak magazines and on a popular weather app. And the advertising seems to pay off: While having dinner at the restaurant Betula Aspen last year, “a woman recognized me and said, ‘Do you know about my property in Sag Harbor? I might want to discuss listing it with you,’” he said.
DePersia got the listing, which he said is currently on the market. He declined to disclose the address, but in November he had five Sag Harbor properties listed on his web page.
Among them was the $12.9 million 14 Seaponack Drive, which he appears to have picked up this year. According to online records, the new-construction home in the North Haven section came on the market in 2017 for about $17 million with Saunders & Associates, which is currently sharing the listing with Corcoran.
But DePersia, a long-time skier, bristles at suggestions that he chases clients to the Rocky Mountains. “It just turns out that a lot of my clientele happens to be there,” he said. “Connections happen organically.”
Local yokels
When DePersia first came to Hamptons to windsurf in the 1980s, many owners boarded up their houses at the end of the summer season. That’s obviously not the case anymore for most second-home owners on the East End.
And annual events like the Hamptons International Film Festival and Winterfest — a weeks-long festival of music, food, arts, wine and entertainment throughout the North and South Forks — are a big draw.
But outside of those events, the hubbub and deal volume fall off.
In 2018, the fourth quarter was, not surprisingly, the slowest of the year on the South Fork, with 360 deals, according to market data from Elliman. By comparison, the second quarter was the most active, with 601 deals.
But brokers say there’s been a bit more activity this fall than usual as cautious buyers finally commit to purchasing houses they’ve been circling for months.
“There are definitely usually fewer showings at this time of the year,” said Saunders’ Terry Cohen. “But we’re doing more deals this off-season than during the season.”
That may be because average listing prices are down about 20 percent from the spring — to $1.38 million from $1.73 million, according to Elliman’s third-quarter market report. Average sales prices were also down for the year through September — a fact agents attributed to both fears of a pending recession and the recent federal tax overhaul that capped state and local tax (SALT) deductions at $10,000 a year, which made buyers hesitant to take on big-ticket second-home properties.
Not helping matters is that some of the Hamptons’ venues — like Starr Boggs in Westhampton Beach, the Inlet Seafood Restaurant in Montauk and the Beacon and Le Bilboquet in Sag Harbor, places brokers flock to in order to hobnob and generate deals in the summer — close up shop in the off-season.
But increasingly, some establishments — Pierre’s in Bridgehampton, the Palm in East Hampton and East Hampton Grill, to name a few — stay open throughout the winter.
Elliman’s Morabito and his team meet at Sag Harbor’s American Hotel once a week for breakfast. “I always get leads there,” said Morabito.
For some, Hamptons venue hours are not as crucial in the winter.
BHS’ Burnside said he also heads into Manhattan in the off-season for meetings at the firm’s main Midtown office, where he meets with firm principals once a month.
He said he recently met with Will Zeckendorf, an owner of Terra Holdings, the firm’s parent company. Zeckendorf, Burnside said, is closely following the firm’s conversion of Southampton’s former post office into a BHS office. (Burnside oversaw the recent expansion of BHS’ Bridgehampton office and is involved in this project as well.)
Hal Zwick, a commercial agent with Town & Country Real Estate, said he, too, takes more Manhattan meetings in the off-season.
Negotiations with his clients — particularly owners of bars and restaurants, many of which are offshoots of New York City restaurants — require multi-day trips to Manhattan about every six weeks. “I stayed at the W Union Square right after they opened,” back in the early 2000s, “and have not stayed at another hotel since,” said Zwick.
Venue owners — who often have to wait months for the state to approve a liquor license — generally need to lock down a space by the late fall to start the approval process, Zwick said. And there are a number of deadlines to meet in order to be up and running by Memorial Day, he said.
But outside of bars and restaurants, retail leasing is weak on the East End. A decade ago, retailers were looking for 10-year leases. Today they want one-year pop-ups, which landlords won’t agree to until March, when their other options run out, Zwick said: “It’s been difficult to do business out here. That’s a fact.”
Keeping busy
In the old days — aka the 1990s — resales were the properties du jour in the Hamptons. But those resales often needed renovations. That dynamic led to a rush to buy in the fall, leaving enough time for off-season construction so homes could be ready by summer, said Aspasia Comnas, the BHS executive director who manages the firm’s nine North and South Fork offices.
Art Basel is a popular event for Hamptons brokers.
But with the rise of new-construction homes, that autumn deal bump has dissipated, Comnas said.
On the plus side, new-construction home closings can happen much closer to the start of the season. “You no longer have the same pressure to close that you used to,” she said. “Deals are more evenly distributed throughout the year.”
Construction of spec homes has, however, produced a new kind of off-season work for brokers: unofficially project-managing to ensure that properties are ready to market during the critical spring window.
BHS’ Burnside is currently keeping tabs on the under-construction 33 Bellows Court in Southampton Village, which is listed for about $4 million. Marketing materials for the property are not yet ready, but he’s pushing to make sure it’s photo-ready by February.
Another property he’ll be prepping for the market is 1127 Noyac Path in Water Mill, a spec house listed for $5.2 million — or $350,000 for the summer. The house was completed in August, an unfavorable month to enter the rental market, so Burnside decided to move into it himself in November. A cocktail-fueled open house may be held there in the spring, to lure buyers or renters, but is not likely before then.
Event-style showings are an effective in-season tool, he said. An August gathering that included an art show drew about 100 people to 54 Old Sag Harbor Road, a six-bedroom listed for about $4.7 million. But, he said, in the off-season potential buyers (and renters) usually just come to the East End to check out houses for the day.
For years, renters booked summer homes in the previous fall. After the 2008 crash, they began hunting more aggressively for deals, which meant waiting till the last minute.
Now, however, brokers say they’re seeing more long-term planning. Some of that demand is being driven by those looking to rent while they’re constructing Hamptons homes, according to Saunders’ Cohen.
In early November, Corcoran’s DePersia was on the verge of closing three summer leases, including one for a full season for a house in Bridgehampton to be rented by “a guy in his 40s from Manhattan with an extended family,” he said.
Still, the pace of deals is undoubtedly slower than usual. “[But] if you’re just going to be working all the time it kind of defeats the whole point of enjoying the beauty of the Hamptons anyway,” Burnside said.

It’s barely midnight, and just like Cinderella I’m home, dry and snug and out of my mauve patent-leather Delacroix stilettos, which are ruined for good from the rain. Call me Granny Sensible, but from now until spring is officially here I’m wearing only Maison Olivier slippers, inside and out —those won’t be a loss. Now that I’m warm and comfortable we can discuss this intriguing evening’s news.

Word in from Greece that E has been partying up a storm after allegedly getting dumped by a mysterious lover. I can’t believe I have to say this to the very King of Hearts, but it’s about time he lets the art of distraction do its work. E, surround yourself with gorgeous girls, open a bottle of champagne and pretend you’re not missing a damn thing. You truly are not.
The wedding of the year
Okay, so I’m not talking about Beauty Empress Minah Delacroix and her Tech Genius husband —that is so last season, even Prince T got over it. This couple is not married—yet. They haven’t sent the invites and she hasn’t been fitted for the dress, but they did appear wearing matching brand new rings —Cartier, no less. And where did these two people who two days ago were just ‘so private and pure’ —as his fans claim— totally NOT kiss and fondle each other in a very public way all week? They were like emperor penguins, doing that “I’ve found my partner for life” dance, all over London. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had to stop in at the ER at St. Mungo to have their lips surgically separated just so he can embark on tour tomorrow.
And you know what? I sort of hate happy couples. Of course, we love that you’ve found each other, but sometimes it’s more polite to be happy in private, so people don’t have to watch you being all perfect, cutesy and boring. Think of it this way: if you leave more up to our imaginations, we might be kinder to you when we talk about you, which we are bound to.
At least, I am. I simply cannot keep my mouth shut! And neither can some of you.
And this is definitely not the last word
Something tells me this isn’t the last we’re going to hear about tonight, some of us are alone, some us are not, and, as Scarlett O'Hara once said, tomorrow is another day. If there’s anything to report, you know where to find me, and I certainly know how to find you.

François Bauchet. Diseñador de productos, artista visual y escultor.
François Bauchet (1948, Montluçon, Francia), artista visual y escultor -estudió en la École des Beaux-Arts en Bourges- realizó su primera incursión en el mundo del diseño de productos en 1981.
De 1978 a 1982, fue profesor en la École des Beaux-Arts en Mâcon, y desde 1982 da clases en la École des Beaux-Arts de Saint-Etienne.
La contribución de François Bauchet al mundo del diseño y el arte ha sido muy prolífica, y suele combinar la escenografía, la arquitectura interior y el diseño.
Además, fascinado por la sociología (estudio de las sociedades humanas y los fenómenos religiosos, económicos, artísticos, etc) utiliza las observaciones que hace para sus diseños.
Las piezas de François Bauchet se encuentran en la frontera entre lo funcional y la obra de arte, y sus piezas hacen preguntas sobre la importancia de la presencia y la realidad material de las cosas en un mundo con un gran protagonismo de la imagen.
François Bauchet ha progresado desde el uso de la madera laqueada hasta el trabajo con resina, y ahora utiliza telas crudas y cerámicas para crear muebles que desafían nuestras ideas preconcebidas, pero siempre con sutileza y elegancia discreta.
En 1983 realizó el proyecto “C’est aussi une chaise” (“También es una silla”), que se presentó en el Salon des Artistes Décorateurs (SAD), y de 1984 a 1998, colaboró con Galerie Neotu.
En 1987, diseñó las oficinas de la Fondation Cartier en Jouy-en-Josas, cerca de París, y participó en Documenta 8 de Kassel (Alemania).
Otros trabajos destacados han sido el mobiliario de recepción para el Centre d’Art en Vassivière-en-Limousin y el área de recepción del Museo de Arte y de la Industria en Saint-Etienne.
También el equipamiento de exposición y mobiliario de la cafetería para la Galerie Nationale du Jeu de Paume en París (años 80), o el mobiliario para el parque del Castillo de Azay-le-Rideau.
En el año 2000, el Museo de Artes Decorativas de París organizó una exposición individual sobre su obra.
Desde 1999, colabora con la Galerie kreo de París para la que creó nuevas piezas, incluida la colección “Módulo” en 2001 y la colección “Hadar” en 2003.
En 2002, François Bauchet fue galardonado “Créateur de l’année” (Creador del año) en el Salon du meuble de Paris.
En 2010, “La cuarta pared“, fue una instalación que representaba los esfuerzos de colaboración entre François Bauchet, Eric Jourdan y nº. 111 (una firma creativa compuesta por Sophie Françon, Jennifer Julien y Grégory Peyrache).
Estos tres diseñadores de nº. 111 fueron alumnos de Bauchet y Jourdan en la École des Beaux-Arts de Saint-Etienne, y la exposición formó parte de la zona “off” en el St. Etienne design biennale 2010.
Este proyecto, una exploración de “nociones de volumen y espacio” estudia la forma en que la luz y el entorno generan atmósferas y espacios.
Los objetos domésticos comunes (un escritorio, una lámpara de pie, una mesa, un sillón y luces colgantes) estaban instalados en la parte superior de un escenario y se experimentan de manera diferente como resultado de su aislamiento intencional.
A medida que los espectadores se movían por el espacio, los ángulos, la escala y la composición de los objetos cambiaban, fomentando un mayor replanteamiento de las relaciones que existían entre los objetos, tanto dentro como fuera del espacio ordinario. “La distancia transforma…. replanteando las relaciones“, según nº 111.
El trabajo investiga la forma en que la iluminación y la composición afectan al estado de ánimo, al volumen y al espacio. Los mismos objetos se evalúan de manera diferente cuando se observan desde diferentes puntos de vista.
En 2013, Galerie Kreo organizó una nueva exposición individual para su colección “Cellae” (almacenamientos y mesas), que muestra varias piezas hechas de materiales poco habituales como fieltro técnico y resina.
Sus piezas y objetos están actualmente en producción con Galerie Kreo; Cinna; Ligne Roset; Ercuis; Haviland; GHM, y Thévenon.
También tiene piezas en varias colecciones permanentes: la FNAC; el Museo de Artes Decorativas en París; el Museo del Diseño de Lisboa (Portugal) y el Museo de Arte de Indianápolis.

Desayuno 👎🏻 era de esperar.
Rumbo a 🐊 New Orleans 🐊!!!!!
De camino, paramos en un área de servicio que tenía una tienda de segunda mano. Era una nave industrial con todas sus secciones bien ordenadas. Había absolutamente de todo, desde decoración de hogar, libros, vinilos ropa, maletas, peluches, antigüedades... Enzo pilló un bate beisbol Wilson por $2.
De camino pillamos de repente una tormenta bestial y además Siri te informaba así :
Reservamos habitación por una aplicación que nos dijo un amigo " hotel tonight". Son hoteles bestiales que por alguna cancelación de última hora te dejan el precio de una noche casi con un 30-40% de descuento y merece la pena! Pillamos hotel en el French Quarter que es El Barrio más turístico de New Orleans o también llamado NOLA: NO ( New Orleans) LA ( Louisiana)
Estábamos casi llegando y cruzamos por el puente de Pontchartrain que nos había recomendado un amigo y nos entró momento melancólico y lo pusimos a todo trapo “Tierra” de Chema Moreno
*** cosas que nos llamaron la atención:
~ caucho: hay trozos de rueda en el arcén de todas las carreteras que hemos pisado. Deben reventar como churros y no me extraña van a todo gas ! Nosotros en concreto vimos 3 reventones de camiones.
~ coches abandonados: no sabemos si es que no funcionan, tienen un accidente o simplemente pinchan pero se ven coches con pegatina naranja o una toalla/camiseta en la ventada del conductor. Los dejan en el arcén, gasolineras o en medio de una parcela.
Llegamos y lo primero que hicimos fue parar en Macy's (el corte inglés) a pillar una maleta XXL y agrupar "bolsitas".
Después dirección al hotel "French Market Inn" frente al Mississippi, descargamos maletas y dejamos el coche en un parking a unos 20 minutos del hotel que nos costaba unos $15/día, porque el Parking del Hotel era carísimo.
Antes de comer llevamos toda la ropa sucia a una lavandería de Bourbon st. y pagamos $24 por dos lavadoras (blanca y color) y no iban petadas ( un poco caro, no?).
Pateamos todo barrrio francés que es lo más cerca teníamos, nos tomamos unas cervezas en un garito que tenía las vigas de madera del techo con parches de la policia de todo EEUU.
Cenamos en "Pierre Maspero's" que está en el edificio más antiguo de NOLA y eran especialistas en comida cajún.
Estábamos KO y a dormir !
