“Ultimately we performed so far short of our capabilities and me more than anyone.”
God Jos, we’re not doing this again. It isn’t 2021 anymore.

Alright, Cricfam, I need you’re help. Got a fic idea brewing and I wonder who off the England squad you think would:
- Get stuck on the ferris wheel (x2 players)
- go too hard on the wackamole
- win the biggest stuffed toy (and who would they give it too)
- wants to keep going on the rollercoaster (and who is about to vomit if they go on again)
- ate WAY too much sugar and is now on a high
- doesn’t want to go to a festival (maybe), and who drags them along anyway
- is absolutely terrified of the clowns
- gets way too competitive and who just can’t stand to see them win again
Any ideas welcome!

Just a little bit shattered at the moment.
Still remember being 9 years old and absolutely spell bound when you came onto the scene.
Thanks for everything, Broady. Here's to one last hurrah.

I’m not mad about this result. Of course, I would have LOVED for us to turn that round and at times this morning I really thought we were going to, but India just outplayed us again, like they did Test 3.
I don’t think we lost that with the bat yesterday. Seeing how we were bowling this morning and how we were getting wickets, I think the moment we lost the game was day three morning. India were 177-7 at stumps on day two and by time we had them bowled out at lunch day three it was 307.
Add the 90 odd runs we gave them in that period (kudos have to go to Dhruv for not giving up his wicket and parking at the crease) and today’s chase is 282. We’ll say the great start from Rohit and Yash happens yesterday and they go into today 40-0, but that leaves them with 242 to chase on a spinner friendly and crumbling pitch.
That’s a very different game, and one I think we would have come out on top of.
I have to say, once again, I don’t think we played badly. We are as good as this Indian side, but we are in their back yard and they have a very experienced and strong spin attack with all 11 batters having a good understanding of how to defend in these conditions.
Comparing this England to the England in Test 3, we’ve learnt. We’ve evolved and this felt like a much more all rounded and adaptive team. I had given up this game when we were 92-0, 99-2 I believed we were going to win it. That is this team. THAT is bloody Bazball (a phrase I now hate 😂).
A shame with the advantage we seemed to have after our first batting innings to lose the game and lose the chance to take the series to the last Test, but once again I leave the game happy with how we performed and that we didn’t leave all that much on the table.
To beat India in India, you HAVE to be at 100% for possibly five days. They’re a very hard side to beat in home conditions
