After I have no idea how long I FINALLY finished transcribing the tensimm speech in EoT into Gallifreyan oh my god-

For the design, i wanted to differentiate dr’s and master’s speech, so I made master’s writing white on black and doc black on white. You may not notice it but I also slightly altered the way I wrote for each of them. The doctor’s speech is full of curved lines and all the dots seen in his speech get larger/smaller in circles, I thought it was a bit more playful like the dr. The master on the other hand has super straight lines and similarly sized dots since master is a lot harsher.

The writing along the outside also reads “End of Time” bc I thought that circle needed something so I just wrote the ep title this speech was from in some weird improvised linear gallifreyan-

And this is how you would read it, each circle is read anti-clockwise from the bottom unless you see the little ‘start here’ symbol: —(•

So lemme get this straight, in 'The End of Time' a contingent of Time Lords get handed a prophecy that says only two of their species will survive the Time War and remain locked in eternal rivalry and they instantly know this refers to the Doctor and the Master? First off I see that the two's endless cosmic dick measuring contest is so infamous at this point that their entire race wishes they would just get it over with and fuck already. Secondly how lame must a day in the life of the average Time Lord be if they could tell it had to be the Doctor and the Master based seemingly entirely on the fact they're the only two Time Lords anything interesting ever happens to?

Sometimes I think I haven't been too long in or searched much about the Master lore's, right? Until it's 11pm and I am writing a random one-shot that came up in my head and I have to stop and ponder if the drums are in the Master's head because the Doctor rocked someone and Rassilon decided to put a signal his head but he refused thus it was implanted on the Master OR in the last sanction Rassilon needed a signal thing-y to come back so he sent an order back through miss Jade-Death in time so the Doctor rocked a man to install said signall.

There is something to be said for the automatic gut reaction I have every time I hear the four knocks in the End of Time that cannot be compared to. The way that my breath hitches immediately. The way that my eyes start to burn with tears and I dont stop crying until Matt Smith's face appears onscreen fifteen minutes later. The combination of foreshadowing and music cues and David Tennant's facial acting that burned itself into my brain when I first watched it at age 14 as the perfect, exquisite mix of writing, music, and filmic cues that I point to anytime anyone wants a fantastic example of emotional storytelling. The tragedy. The beauty of sacrificing himself for one man after his whole Time Lord Victorious arc. Saving his friends one last time. Hiding his face from Rose in those final seconds but still going to see her one last time. "You're gonna have a great year." Catch me crying into my pillow rn-
