Today is grey so I'm thinking back to this weekend when the kids and I did a flower hunt to find and identify all the flowers in 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒏'𝒔 𝑮𝒖𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌 and 𝑷𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑹𝒖𝒏𝒔 𝑨𝒘𝒂𝒚. Success! They each were allowed to pick one for a bouquet and leave the rest for pollinators. They've had lots of fun this spring and summer using the guidebook to learn about nature, and Jasper is getting really good at reading all by himself, too. Flower chains ~ go! We had fun practicing this weave. The kids liked wearing the crown, too. I need a little more practice! The kids were so excited when we saw this toad! It's so dark. That's reassuring because my original toad painting for 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒏'𝒔 𝑮𝒖𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌 was bright and colorful for a toad, but the print came out much darker, and it looks a lot like this little hopper! Had fun last night identifying the wildflowers in the yard. No chicory yet, but plenty of hawk weed, clover, and daisies, and a few buttercups!
