Steddie Sick fic pt. 1
Pre s4 - Eddie is sick but doesn't want to miss Hellfire, until he collapses from his fever and the kids in a panic call Steve. Steve taking care of Eddie who while delirious calls him pretty and says he had a crush on him.
Eddie had been feeling off since he woke up, his throat was dry and scratchy and his body ached like he got hit by a bus. But he needed to maintain some level of attendance at the school and he was already pushing his limits so he downed some painkillers with a cup of coffee and grabbed his books and keys before heading to school.
He doesn’t remember if he managed to take notes or not, even if he did they probably wouldn’t be coherent. His head feels stuffed full of wool and he barely managed to keep down two of the crackers and the water Gareth insisted on nudging his way. When the last bell rang he trudged towards the Drama room to start setup, because of course he couldn’t just go home when he felt so awful, they had Hellfire tonight. He kept his head down, waiting for the halls to mostly empty before moving, and if he had to occasionally lean against the wall to get there that was his business.
A lesser DM may have canceled or postponed but he knew little Will Byers would be leaving them soon for California and that Wheeler, Henderson, and Sinclair were trying to spend as much time together as possible. Honestly it felt a little codependent the way that the others clung to Will, all of them insanely attentive to the smallest flinch the smaller boy let out. There was clearly a story there, one Eddie wasn’t in the mood to hear today.
He got the minis set up and all but collapsed into his throne, everything hurt and the room was swimming a bit around the edges of his vision. He was breathing hard and shallow too, he needed to get it together. Gareth showed up earlier than everyone else, Eddie was fairly certain his friend could tell that he was under the weather. This was confirmed when the drummer pressed more painkillers into his hand and passed him a still warm cup of tea.
“You break into the teachers lounge?” Christ, was that his voice?! He quickly downed the pills and took a quick sip of the tea.
“You sure you’re up for this man?” Gareth asks instead, Eddie waves his worries off as he takes another sip.
“Yeah man I’m fine, just a frog in the throat is all.” It’s pretty clear neither of them were convinced by that but before his friend could protest or make him cancel the children arrived and the other boy was forced to retreat.
This wasn’t Eddie’s best game he’ll be honest. Between trying to sip the tea as little as possible in order to make it last and all of his npc voices still coming out weak and raspy he just wanted this session to be over. The kids were arguing and Eddie barely had enough strength to smack a hand on the table to shut them up instead of shouting at them. Will kept staring at him, intuitive little fucker he was, could probably tell Eddie wasn’t all there. Okay it was time to end this.
Eddie stood from his throne and tried to make it look like he planned it when he had to splay his hands across the table to stay upright. Black spots danced across his vision and he blinked hard several times to try and clear them. He shook his head when that failed and oh shit that only made it worse, now with spotty vision and vertigo Eddie had to swallow hard as bile climbed up the back of his throat. Just two more minutes damnit.
“Alright everyone, tha-,” he cleared his throat, why did it feel like he was swaying in circles, he wasn’t was he? “That’s all forrrr…” His knees started to buckle so he locked them, fat lot of good it did when they already felt like jelly. He straightened up to his full height and realized too late that was a very bad idea.
“Shit.” Was the last word that slipped from his lips before everything went black.

Steddie Drunk Dialing Fluff
Steve Harrington-Munson was probably one of the happiest men to be alive in the modern era. He had the perfect life, against all odds. Because apparently having your late teens and early twenties ruined by demons equated to a fantastic adulthood.
He had it all. A loving family, the best friend/surrogate sister he could ever ask for, and he was married to the love of his life. And okay, yes. That had included some extremely embarrassing revelations and internal meltdowns and... a pretty brutal disownment. But he had figured it all out in the end. And here he was, a decade later with a ring on his finger and a nice hyphenated name. Not to mention how he was basically a trophy husband.
Eddie hadn't wasted a moment of the last decade. A symptom of almost dying it would seem. He went for the GED, gathered the band back up, moved across the country to chase his dreams and play in every shitty dive bar he could until they were discovered. All while dragging Steve along for the ride.
As much as Steve had believed in him, neither of them had been prepared for his music career actually taking off. Especially not to the level it did. It was undeniable that his husband was an A-Lister, despite how universally hated he was by half the country. You don't get many out and proud metal front man who loved parading around his high school sweetheart at every social event he could. But Europe loved him, as did the entirety of gay, rebellious youths world wide.
It was so stupid. There Eddie was, painted as an insane freak who was fake-married. With tabloids running story after story about his secret children, his drug addiction, a wife from another country, anything that they could think of. All while Eddie spent every free moment at Steve's side, always opting for a night in with his baby when given the choice. And when he wasn't doing that, he was busy playing surrogate fun uncle to the kids, who were definitly not kids anymore. But that didn't stop them from all getting together for Dungeons and Dragons once a month, hundreds and hundreds of campaign hours on everyone's belts. And that was his life. Spending time with his family, forcing them on hikes and runs, volunteering, working occasionally to help Robin with her translating work, all while coming home to the sweetest thing that ever existed.
God, did Steve love that man. Reminiscing about the love of his life while he was on tour was not helping his fretful sleep. He just... really had given him everything. He loved him so much in fact that he was only slightly pissed when he was woken up at three a.m. from the phone ringing off the hook.
Steve reached for it blindly, still half-asleep when he mumbled, "Mm-Eds?"
"Steeeeeeeeeevie," Eddie's voice slurred back at him, "Baby booooy. How's my baby boy? I miss my baby boy."
Steve smiled despite himself, yawning into the phone. Eddie was lucky he was so cute, considering how the love of his life who could not remember what time zones were, "He misses you too. And he's a little tired right now babe. What's up?"
"Day drunk," Eddie sighed, "Guys, morning show, mimosas, hotel room to sleep it off. Missing you."
"You won't be missing me for long," Steve softly laughed. Though... hearing his voice was quite the reminder of how cold the bed suddenly felt, "Just... one more week. That's not too long right?"
"Too long!" Eddie groaned, dramatic, "I miss you now. Why can't I see you now? Wait-Can I see you now? Cause planes and trains and-"
"And no," Steve interrupted with a chuckle, "You'd only get me for a few hours before you'd have to leave again."
"Worth it," Eddie mumbled out, his voice a little muffled as he tumbled around in his hotel bed, "Want my baby."
The pathetic tilt to his voice was enough to make Steve's heart clench. God he was too precious. Suddenly a red-eye in the middle of the night for a two hour make-out session didn't sound like such a bad idea. But he could be the strong one for tonight, "You have me sweetheart. Want me to stay on until you fall asleep."
"Yes please," Eddie sighed, "Love your voice. It's so... nice. Like... audible perfume. Like poetry or something."
"Oh baby you are wasted," Steve said as he laid back down, nestling the phone to his ear, "Please tell me you drank some water before laying down?"
"... maybe?"
"Babe."
"I knoooow. Keep nagging me though. I missed that too."
"Is my bitching your bed time story?"
He could hear Eddie nodding, rusting against the fabric, "And it's the best. Keep going?"
Steve rolled his eyes, but he did what he was asked. Saying every silly little grievance he could think of. He whined about how cold it was in bed without him, how Eddie had promised to take out the trash before he left and forgot. Again. How he hated how quiet it was without him, how much he missed hearing his voice trailing in and out of every room.
And Eddie listened, mumbling out a few sleepy m'sorrys and I love yous along the way. Until all Steve could hear was the slow, steady sound of his breathing. But he didn't hang up. Not when that was one of his favorite sounds in the world. And the perfect thing to fall asleep to.
Steve smiled to himself as he closed his eyes, a little amazed that Eddie could still make him feel so loved, from hundreds of miles away.
But one thing was for sure. He still had to be the happiest man on earth.

But why no magnets?
the only thing I can think of is someone tried to swallow one
Well, it started with a text message that said “Dude look at all these ducking magnets” and an attached picture of vintage Star Wars fridge magnets at a yard sale.
This text was followed by “Quacking awesome, dude. Get them for me and I’ll venmo you.”
Followed by a text saying, “It was a typo!”
This text conversation was followed up by Max and Lucas visiting Dustin’s apartment a few days later. Dustin was in the middle of building a new computer and told them to, “Just sit them anywhere, I’ll get to them when I can. Thanks.”
Which lead to Max tossing the magnets on his cluttered desk and the three of them managed to get his new computer built and set up within an hour. They went to dinner together after that, then bothered Will and Mike, and then went to Hellfire.
When Dustin came home – it was to twenty-seven loose vintage Star Wars magnets on his desk and his tape of the Hale-Bopp comet from 1997 erased.
So, magnets were banned in his apartment.

Come one, come all to this tragic affair
written for @steddieholidaydrabbles prompt: hurt/comfort (heavy on the hurt) | rated: m | wc: 1000 | cw: minor character death, car accidents, death of parents | tags: established steddie, emt steve, death of steve's parents This was the worst shift Steve had faced since starting his emt training. Facing down a car accident that included his parents' car. title from The End by MCR
Steve still felt a little out of place sitting in the passenger seat of the ambulance as it sped down the highway with the lights and sirens blaring. He was still in training, and every emergency seemed new. He knew this would be bad from the little he'd heard over the radio, a major car accident that sounded incredibly serious with multiple casualties.
He couldn't help swearing loudly as the ambulance slowed to a stop at the scene, instantly recognizing one of the cars.
"Most people save that until they know the status of everything." His mentor, John, responded as he moved to get out.
"No, it's just. The Mercedes. That's my parents' car." Steve replied hesitantly, unlatching his seat belt and reaching for the door.
"Stay in the truck for a minute." John said, climbing out and slamming the door, Steve watched as he made his way over to the police and other ambulances on scene.
Steve waited anxiously for John to return, watching as he spoke to another paramedic. He tried to get a gauge on what was being said, but their faces didn't give much away. He was terrified of what the outcome could be. When John returned to the ambulance, Steve could see from his face that it wasn't going to be good news.
"Harrington. I'm relieving you from duty."
"What-" Steve started to ask, but the words got stuck in his throat.
"It, it's not good news, kid. For the Mercedes, there's a male driver that's DOA. And a female passenger in critical condition. You should be with your mom, not worrying about duty. I'll walk you over, then I'll radio base to let them know what's going on."
"Oh." Steve felt numb as he climbed out of the cab. There were people scattered everywhere, working on the people that had been in the other cars. Near the crumpled shell of the Mercedes, a body was covered by a sheet and Steve knew that it was his father. A few feet away, laid his mother, covered in blood. "Mom." He gasped, hurrying to her side.
"Stevie?" She whispered, opening her eyes for barely a second.
"Yeah, Mom. I'm here." He rested his hand gently on her shoulder, keeping out the way of the paramedics as the worked on her.
Once his mom was stable enough to be moved, she was being loaded into the back of an ambulance.
"Harrington." John came jogging over. "I've spoken to base, you're signed off duty for at least a couple of weeks. Go with your mom, someone will catch up with you later."
Steve just nodded, before climbing into the back of the ambulance with his mom, taking her hand for comfort as the doors slammed.
At the hospital, Steve was directed into a side room to wait for updates as his mom was rushed into surgery. He knew it wasn't looking good. The paramedics that brought them in offered Steve their condolences before they had to leave to get back out. He knew he should phone Eddie, but he didn't know if he could find the words, at least until he knew.
After a couple of hours, Hopper walked into the room. Steve vaguely recalled noticing him at the scene, but his focus had been elsewhere.
"Any updates?" He asked, taking the seat next to Steve. Steve just shook his head, not wanting to talk.
It was only a few minutes later that a doctor walked in. Steve got to his feet, wanting to be ready for anything.
"I'm sorry, Mr Harrington. We tried everything we could, but your mother's injuries were too severe. We were unable to save her."
"Oh, I." Steve could feel himself crumbling, tears running down his face and his knees buckling. The only thing preventing him hitting the floor was Hopper darting forward to grab his shoulders.
"I've got you." Hopper wrapped him in a tight hug. "I've got you."
The rest of the day passed in a blur, Steve just moving on instinct following whatever Hopper or any of the hospital staff told him. It felt like he could blink and he would be in a different place, with different people. He'd never had a great relationship with either of his parents, but he just couldn't process that he'd lost them both in just a few hours. He felt like he was just seeing snapshots through someone else's eyes. He came back to himself when Hopper shook his shoulder, somehow he'd lost getting into the car and the drive home.
"Let's get you inside. D'you want me to explain it to Munson?" Hopper asked gently.
Steve just nodded as he got out and walked up to the small house he was renting with Eddie.
"Steve, is that you?" Eddie called as the door shut, stopping short when he saw Hopper. "What's going on?"
"We should probably sit down for this." Hopper replied.
Steve followed Eddie into the living room, curling into his side as they sat on the sofa, not caring about his bloody uniform or the fact he hadn't bothered to take off his boots.
"He responded to a major car accident. His parents were in one of the cars. Neither of them survived."
"Oh, Stevie." Eddie wrapped his arms tightly around Steve, feeling the tears start to soak into his shirt. "I've got you baby. I've got you."
"If you need anything, just let me know. And I'll check in everyday." Hopper said as he got to his feet.
"Yeah, thanks Hopper." Eddie replied, still holding Steve close.
"You need anything Stevie?" Eddie asked after Hopper left.
Steve shook his head. "Do I even get to be sad? I don't- I've barely seen or spoken to them for months. Why should I be allowed to be sad?"
"You can feel however you want. They were your parents and you loved them, you're allowed to grieve." Eddie murmured, running his fingers through Steve's hair. "And I'll be here through it all."

LISTEN. I was ready to ride the Steve Becomes A Teacher train all the way home. It’s in my fics, it’s in my planned fics. But but but LISTEN.
Steve becoming a first responder?
A little bit post-S4, Steve is driving home to Hawkins after moving to Indy/Chicago/a major city that’s still within reasonable driving distance for him to come see the kids. Eddie is in the passenger seat and they’re zooming down the highway, one of those picture perfect moments where they’re singing along to a Madonna song, that Eddie was complaining about just moments ago.
Steve, always striving to be the safest driver on the road, mostly because he is almost always transporting precious cargo in the form of his loved ones, isn’t the one who sees it at first. It isn’t until Eddie loudly gasps and points out a pretty horrific car accident unfolding before their eyes in the next lane over.
Steve pulls off to the side, a fair distance behind wreck. One of the cars is turned completely around in the other direction, the front smashed in. The other cars are also damaged, but the passengers are getting out. No one has gotten out of the turned around car.
Without a word, without questions from either of them, the two get out of the Beamer. Eddie goes up to the other cars, a woman who’s crying her eyes out and a young family all looking spooked out of their minds, but all seemingly alright. All of this is happening in Steve’s peripheral because he is now sprinting toward the car that no one has gotten out of. He sees the shape of the driver, head laid back on the headrest, unconscious.
“Don’t move her!” “We need to wait for help!” Bystanders yell at him. Steve doesn’t respond, the driver door now open, as he checks the girl, who looks so young that mental images of one of his kids being in her place flash across his brain, tug at his heart.
“Eddie!” He yells past the lump in his throat, but it looks like his boyfriend was already reading his mind, as he runs over with the first aid kit that’s always stationed in the trunk of his car.
He finds her pulse as Eddie settles beside him. He’s checking for broken bones as the girl comes to. He’s telling her to sit back and that everything is okay as Eddie is yelling at the crowd forming around them to back up, he knows what he’s doing.
Steve gets the flashlight out of the kit, shining it in her eyes, asking her what her name is, what day it is, who the president is, she hesitates to answer but answers all the questions.
Eddie isn’t sure if this first aid knowledge is from all the times Steve’s been assessed after all the Upside Down shit or if it’s because of his own research, though he realizes as watches Steve keep the girl calm and gently keep her from moving around at all, it’s both.
Eddie continues to watch when the ambulance gets to the scene. He watches Steve tell the EMTs that the girl is concussed and has no other visible injuries. He watches as they assess her themselves and as they ask Steve if he’s off duty, motioning to his extensive first aid kit. Steve just says he’s had his fair share of emergencies and he knows what he’s doing.
After the ambulance leaves, Steve and Eddie walking back to their car, even though traffic is backed up all the way to their apartment it seems, Eddie can’t stop thinking about how easily Steve fit into the “hero” role. How, sure, it’s residual Savior Of The World shit, but can’t it also be more now that the world is saved?
When they’re back on the road, hours later, and close to home, Eddie asks,
“Have you ever thought about becoming a paramedic?”
Steve doesn’t say anything. But he’s thinking. No, he hasn’t thought about it. But maybe he should start thinking about it.

uh ok steddie headcanon time ! Today's special guest: and they were roommatessss
Modern au EMT Steve and Horror Novelist Eddie as roommates! (I'm thinking Chicago, aged up into their late-20s, early 30s).
Eddie trying to figure out the logistics of a particular gory scene, and having an "aha" moment - why not ask Steve?
Eddie: *tentatively, since they don't really have a relationship past cordial-roommate* "Hey, uh, Steve?"
Steve: *watching tv on the couch, shoving his face full of popcorn after a long shift* "...yeah?"
Eddie: *sits down on couch, arms crossed* "So I know you've had a long day..."
Steve: *now not watching tv, popcorn pushed to the side, a bit confused* "Shit - did I forget to start the dishwasher again? Sorry about that, it's been a hell of a day -" *starts to get up*
Eddie: *head shaking* "No no! You did remember, no, uh, I was actually going to ask a question related to your job...?" *voice goes up at the end, seeing Steve's reaction before continuing*
Steve: *the tension in his shoulder dissipates as he plops himself back onto the couch* "Oh yeah. Go for it. Shoot." *resumes popcorn-eating*
Eddie: *lets out a sigh he didn't know he was holding in* Awesome! *all of a sudden slides a pair of readers onto his face, pulls out a thick notebook with hand-written notes and hand-drawn diagrams from seemingly nowhere* "Yeah, so I have a question about beheadings, like, I theoretically understand just how much pressure and just how sharp a blade would need to be for a clean cut, but what about with a dull weapon, and would the person doing the beheading need to get a running start?"
Steve: *pauses, waiting for the punchline... then realizes that Eddie is dead (haha) serious* "Alright how tall are we talking? And what kind of blade are we using?" *full mouth of popcorn* "-cause I've seen some fucked up shit with those Japanese katanas - never, ever get on the wrong side of a guy who has ornamental swords on their walls - and don't get me started on focal and guillotine lacerations from machetes - *another mouth of popcorn, head shaking, eyes wide* " -those blades are crazy"
Eddie furiously takes notes and asks several (very good) questions that surprise Steve. Cue this becoming a somewhat regular occurrence, where Eddie asks Steve whether particular killing scenes seem realistic. Steve is impressed with Eddie's thoroughness ("It's gotta be good, Stevie. It's paying our bills..."), and Eddie is amazed at Steve's limitless knowledge of bodily injuries ("Class of 2008. Senior year shaped me into the man I am today, Eddie").
Their easy, newfound relationship turns toward something more the day that Steve doesn't understand the particulars of what Eddie is asking him, and instead asks to show him. Steve has his own aha moment while on his back and a butterknife to his neck, arms pinned to the floor above him, with Eddie smiling manically above him. They both have their own aha moments then, Eddie and Steve.

Kurt: Dad *peeking inside*
Steve: Yeah Kurt? *painting*
Kurt: why don't you ever talk about grandpa? Pop does
Steve: *thinks for a moment putting down his paintbrush* Well, because my father, wasn't nice. Sometimes, parents aren't good, but your grandma was amazing, she was a nurse. She helped everyone
Kurt: she was nurse? *grins* like pop mom was an emt?
Steve:...huh... yeah but your pop dad was so much cooler
Kurt: is it normal for uncle Tony and Bruce not to mention their fathers then?
Steve: *thinking* [Note to self, avoid a necromancer]

“Where’d you learn how to do this?” Steve asks, partly to distract himself from the pain, mostly to distract himself from the way Eddie’s ringed fingers glint in the dim light of the Upside Down as he wraps a makeshift bandage around Steve’s waist. He’s kneeling on the dirty ground at Steve’s feet, one of Nancy’s bobby pins dangling from his lips like a cigarette.
“You can thank my dear old dad for this one,” he sing-songs a little meanly as he tightens the bandage.
Pain flares through Steve’s side. He hisses, drags his hands through his filthy hair, wonders if he’s about to faint and crack his skull against Munson’s on the way down. He looks back down at Eddie with a furrowed brow, “Why? Was your dad a nurse or something?”
Eddie snorts. “Yeah, Harrington, he was a nurse or something.”

Steddie Sick fic pt. 4
Pt 3
Eddie wakes up and immediately feels his hackles raise. This isn’t his bed, this isn’t one of his friends' houses, hell he doesn’t even remember leaving Hellfire last nigh… oh because he didn’t. He fainted, but where is he now? And why is he still dressed?
He cracks one eye open to assess his surroundings, the room is nice, the bed doubly so. The pillow smells dusty though, like this room hasn’t been used in a while. His wallet and everything are still in his pants, it had been too humid for his leather jacket today, yesterday now, but nothing lends any details as to where the hell he might be. His shoes are even tucked away nicely next to the bedside table.
The smell of food hits him and stops all thoughts in his tracks. He’s still sore and his throat feels like someone took sandpaper to it, but his head is clearer today than it was yesterday and his stomach is growling. He gets his shoes back on and laced up before creeping downstairs as quietly as possible. There’s no pictures or anything to indicate who lives here but he’s seen Harrington’s living room before when he’d dealt. Why he’s here is still a mystery, Harrington hasn’t thrown a party in years.
“Hey, you’re awake.”
Eddie jumps almost a foot in the air as the man in question appears through the doorway to the kitchen. He’s barefoot, wearing a pair of criminally low slung sweatpants with no shirt and when did Steve Harrington get chest hair?! He sucks on his lower lip so he doesn’t drool and excuse me was that a once-over? Did King Steve just check him out? Oh his poor queer heart cannot take this.
“I’m working on breakfast if you think you could keep anything down for me.”
I’ll go down whenever you want big boy. Eddie mentally slaps himself before giving the other man a weak smile, “I’ll never turn down food but umm, why am I here?”
“You don’t remember?” Either his imagination is going wilder than usual, fantasies of biting Steve’s neck and chest notwithstanding, or Steve Harrington is giving him a disappointed pout.
“I was at Hellfire, and then I woke up here.”
“Come eat and I’ll explain.”
He trots after the younger man into the kitchen, ignoring the massive fuck off table in favor of grabbing a stool at the breakfast bar. He watches Steve cover a pleased little smile with his hand and he’s not sure what he did to earn it, he would like to so he can do it again, every day for however long it makes Steve do that. Steve makes up a plate for him with buttered toast and scrambled eggs, it’s not much but it looks good.
“There’s plenty if you want more, figured I’d start you off easy considering your fever was so bad last night you passed out at your game.”
“Christ, I did? Guess that’s why I don’t remember anything, maybe I got a concussion.” He shoves a bite of eggs in his mouth, they’re delightfully fluffy.
“I doubt it but I can check if you like, I’ve had several.”
“Umm, I guess?” Eddie shrugs and prepares himself to answer the usual questions that people ask when someone has possible brain damage. He is not prepared for Steve to come around the edge of the bar and physically turn Eddie to face him before lifting the metalhead’s chin with a finger curled under it and leaning in close to his face.
“Look right at me please.” He asks softly and Eddie resists the urge to blurt out ‘every damn day if you ask me like that’. Eddie can feel the warmth of Steve’s body so close to his own, the younger man almost close enough to have settled between his thighs instead. He barely holds back a whimper when Steve’s thumb brushes over his jaw, his fingers carefully tilting Eddie’s face as he examines his eyes for what feels like much longer than it probably has been.
“Your eye dilation looks normal, I’d ask if you see something you like based on how wide your pupils are but that’d be pretty unprofessional of me.” With a wink Steve steps back and walks back over to the stove while Eddie crosses his legs with a cough.
“W-what do you mean un-ahem-unprofessional?” His throat was scratchy from being sick, that's all.
“I’m going to EMT school. I know they think I don’t know that they know but Dustin is about as subtle as a bat to the face. And everyone keeps slipping me flashcards that are definitely not in my handwriting. It’s why they called me when you went down, I guess no one in your band could take you with them.” Steve starts eating eggs right out of the pan and tapping his fork over his plump, wet bottom lip and that should not be attractive what the fuck!
“So my van is still at the- school! Fuck what time is it?!” He starts looking around frantically even though he’s fairly certain no one thought to give Steve his backpack. Or his lunchbox.
“I already called the school, told a little fib about already being certified and that you’d be taking today and tomorrow off to recover from being sick. So you’re excused and Dustin or one of your friends can pick up your schoolwork.”
“Jeez man, thank you. I’d offer you a dime bag on the house or something if I had my lunch box.”
“How about you drop by movie night instead sometime? You could bring a few joints if you want.” Steve offers like they’re fucking friends or something, “You are good with the kids, they’ve been through a lot and the rest of us in the Babysitter’s club appreciate it. So you might as well join us for beers and movies and get the rest of the club package.”
“You need someone to help you veto the rest of the group's artsy movies don’t you?”
“Yessss,” Steve slumps against the counter with his head buried in his arms, “anything but another German expressionist film please!”
“Alright big boy I’ll give you a hand.”
Steve popped back up, cheeks flushed and a wide smile on his face, “Thanks Eddie, ugh I’m so happy I could kiss you!”
Eddie choked as Steve looked up at him, flushed and disheveled and barely dressed and he was not a strong man dammit!
“Never took you for the type to kiss boys Harrington.” Remember you’re straight and stop looking at me like that. Steve just shifts to where he’s leaning on his elbows, pushing his pectorals together in a way that would have made plenty of women jealous. He folds his hands and balances his chin on them, batting his eyelashes at Eddie.
“You’d be surprised.” He says slyly before nudging Eddie’s plate closer to him, “Finish eating before it gets cold, then I’ve got some pain killers for you and we can just crash on the couch for the day unless you want me to take you anywhere.”
“You, want me to stay?”
The smile Steve sends him feels undeserved, like he missed a chapter in this book somewhere. He and Steve had spoken maybe ten words to each other in high school and now he’s invited to have a movie marathon with the ex-king while he has a cold.
“Sure Eddie, I’d just be here alone otherwise.”
“Well, I wouldn’t want my uncle to catch this. Aren’t you worried about getting sick?”
The younger man shrugs, “Guaranteed the munchkins are going to get it, which means their siblings are going to get so one way or another I’m going to end up getting it too. Might as well get it out of the way now.”
“You’re not really anything like I expected.”
“Is that a good thing?” Steve asks softly, the first sign of insecurity Eddie has seen from him in their few interactions.
“Very Stevie.” He can only offer back honestly, the gentle smile he receives in return is like feeling the sun come through the clouds.
"Just no horror movies please, they can give me migraines sometimes." The younger man asks bashfully.
“That's fine by me sweetheart.” He goes back to his food and accepts the painkillers Steve hands him after.
He’s curious about what a day spent with Steve Harrington will be like.
Steve’s going to romance this cute nerd with a crush on him so hard. Thank you for reading!

Eddie was having the best night of his life on stage, jumping and whirling with his guitar, fingers flying over the frets as he pulled off solo afyer solo. It was the absolute best he had ever played and he had never felt so free. Then, one miscalculated landing was all it took for him to end up sprawled on the stage, completely unconcious.
The EMTs rushed up from where they were stationed on the wings of the stage, the crowd falling silent as they checked Eddie out.
Eddie slowly came to, looking up at the strong angular features and perfectly coiffed hair of the paramedic above him. Wow, he’s hot, Eddie thought. Still out of it and not sure what happened or where he was, Eddie burst out with “Wow it’s not my birthday is it? Why did you guys get me a stripper?”
“Eddie, that’s an actual paramedic oh my god,” Gareth said from where he was hovering behind hot paramedic guy.
Eddie scoffed, “No one this hot becomes an actual paramedic, Garebear. Now just help me sit up, big boy, and I’ll give you all the lap you can handle dancing in.”
The paramedic laughed, blushing a little as he pushed Eddie back down. “I’m flattered but I am an actual paramedic. You hit your head pretty hard here, Eddie. I’m going to need you to stay down while my partner gets the backboard and everything. We’re going to have to take you to the hospital.”
The paramedic’s partner arrived, a tall woman he called “Robin” and Eddie remembered where he was and what had happened. To say he was mortified was an understatement. He answered their questions and said nothing more as they brought him to the hospital.
It was just a concussion but they wanted to observe him overnight so Eddie was sat up in his hospital room, running over the embarassment in his head. He heard a knock on the door before it opened a little. The hot paramedic from earlier poked his head in.
“Hey, my shift is done and I just uh…wanted to check on how you were doing?” The guy seemed a bit sheepish.
“Oh, yeah, uh hi, come on in,” Eddie said, beckoning the hot paramedic in. He came to stand at the end of Eddie’s bed, large hands gripping the footboard.
“I just really want to apologize for earlier,” Eddie started to say.
At the same time, the paramedic said, “My name’s Steve and do you wanna go for coffee when you’re not concussed?”
“Wait, what? Really?” Eddie asked, worried he was halluncinating.
“I’m not promising a lap dance, big boy, but I’d like to take you for coffee if you’re interested,” hot paramedic—Steve—smiled.
“Definitely interested,” Eddie said, smiling back.
Even with the concussion, it had still turned out to be the best night of his life.
