Do you have any hcs on why aasim was sent to ericsons? I've always wondered bc im pakistani and pakistani parents almost never support the idea of their kid separating from them if they can help it. But aasim seems so well behaved.

you're in luck!! i asked one of the devs (kent mudle) for more ericson backstories back in the day and he replied that aasim was a reformed arsonist!! made me super curious as to the why the other kids were sent to ericsons bc i feel like most of the answers arent what you'd expect

I told my pakistani mom about Aasim and I'm screaming!! Mom was like pakistani parents would nEVER dream of sending kids away in real life Aasim's parents would've moved back to Pakistan 😭😭 they wouldn't be able to admit their kid was doing smth wrong so it would be like this

"Whys it smell like smoke in here?"

Aasim's mom: *sweats nervously* uhhh... I smoke...

LWJELSJSLWKS i wonder if they looked into how different cultures would handle "troubled youths" when they designed the ericsons kids or if they were just like hehehoho characters

Ig I just wanted to throw this out there since you're a fellow oc supporter. So OC creations might be like one of my favorite things. I asked for some for my twdg continuation and people genuinely do really well with them! I cba to list them or anything cause you'd probably die reading them, but like the detail put into it is so nice and it just puts a smile on my face when I can implement someone elses piece of words into a genuine character and develop them from there. everything from like names and backstories, its so sick to see and I appreciate it so much. Few month back I wouldnt have pictured myself writing an OC who knows sign langauge or an OC whos total douchebag, but now its just so inviting and amazing to have. The whole concept of it is amazing and im glad people like indulging in oc art, whether if its art or writing. I can only hope Im doing justice to the prompts but the fact that people are even willing to contribute to it fills me with a good vibe, and gets me going to create more of my own.

A concept: gabe growing up believing he has to be a stereotypical tough man and then growing up to be a doctor or a farmer instead and realizing that he can help people survive in non violent ways and that those methods are just as valuable as the violent jobs like guards and soldiers

Like they've clearly done it before and David and Javi both seem like they would've taught Gabe at least basic self defense like how to throw a punch at some point, im saying this to say IMAGINE Gabe showing clem how to punch and stuff bc iirc she doesn't become a kung fu master until season 4.

BET I have this oc his faceclaim is Bilal Ashraf. Basically he replaces James' role in my everyone lives au of season 4 bc why not. He saves clem and aj in the woods like James does, but he's this lone wolf survivor who literally never speaks. V mysterious. The ericsons kids and clem call him no name. Basically he finds out ericsons is fighting the delta and makes this dramatkc entrance where he announces his name is Raza and the delta captured his son a year ago and he wants revenge so he's helping them. Everyone is shook. He finds out the ericsons kids are alone bc their adults abandoned them and is like? Abandoned apocalypse kids? Ig I'm there dad now. Over time his inner dad comes back out. He teaches Ruby some medical stuff, calms down the younger kids, saves mitch!! There's a scene where he shaves his scraggly apocalypse beard and I just.. ahh! He struggles w English but the kids support him. Eventually Raza's son shows up with the delta to fight ericsons and Clem tells the pair to run while they still can. The son is afraid to go back to his old life due to trauma but he and Raza have a heart to heart and dip. This means he's not there but the time Minnie shows up so idk how to fix that yet but we'll figure it out.

i always kinda wondered what it would be like if the ericsons encountered a friendly adult after being left to their own devices for so long.. i think eventually theyd kinda like having someone looking out for them even if they were initially resistant to it
