Precious Recordings (London, UK) is bringing us yet another (35th to be exact) BBC session. This one was recorded by Huw Stephens, thus the new purple border (John Peel is red, and Janice Long is yellow).

Standard Fare (Sheffield, UK) were a 3-piece indie rock band fronted by Emma Kupa. They clearly were inspired by the C86 sound as well as Orange Juice, Hefner and The Wedding Present. Listen to that guitar!

Kupa went on to record solo and with Mammoth Penguins.

This painting is by the artist, Ferdinand Piloty, (?1786-1844?) who painted a stylistically-similar scene of Kriemhild and her mother in the blog post I still haven't completed (link here). It refers to the tragic 12th century love story of Cornish king, Tristan, and Irish princess, Isolde (aka Iseult). The tale was adapted into an opera by Richard Wagner between 1857 and 1859. I like the painting because of the gold background and intricate tree design.

The image is just one of loads of fresh material I have unearthed while making my latest scrapbook. Other items include pictures of lesser-known animals (geunons, gaurs and peccaries); various flowers; different types of fish (glass fish, icicle fish, goatfish); depictions of zodiacal signs (from Krakow's Kupa Synagogue, and Jaipur's Janta Mantar observatory); bizarre illustrations from alchemical manuscripts; Renaissance- and Baroque-era portraits of saints (Barbara, Catherine and Rose of Lima); artworks by Vincent van Gogh; watercolour paintings of fairies, oil paintings of angels, and woodcut renderings of witches; information about bees and bee-keeping; ancient Chinese and medieval European agricultural practices; the history of weather vanes; snippets of info about and paintings by Egon Schiele; the history of the dodo and its genetic relation, the solitaire (now both extinct); a brief history of the factory-village of Port Sunlight (similar to the story of Sir Titus Salt and Saltaire in West Yorkshire, it was built by an industrialist - William Hesketh Lever* - to house his estate workers); an engraving of Hester Prynne and her daughter from Nathaniel Hawthorne's novel 'The Scarlet Letter'; information and illustrations pertaining to the use of runes in the practice of magic; the constellation of Gemini as portrayed in various manuscripts (e.g. the Bedford Book of Hours, and a Turkish treatise on astrology); info about Halley's comet, the Geminid meteor shower, the festivals of Saturnalia and Lupercalia, and a woodcut from a 16th century English Shepherd's Calendar; and portraits and snippets of info about the (sadly, tragic lives) of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, Mary Queen of Scots, Lady Emma Hamilton, Isadora Duncan, Marie Antoinette and Anne Boleyn.

It's a pity I can't mass-produce my scrapbooks, because I reckon they would be bestsellers!

*The Lady Lever Art Gallery in Liverpool was established by WHL after the death of his wife, and is set in the garden village of Port Sunlight, on the Wirral.

14 Nisan 2024 Fenerbahçe Alagöz Holding Villeneuve d'Ascq LM Maçı

*Servet Tazegül Spor Salonu'nda saat 19:00'da başlayacak olan Kadınlar EuroLeague Final maçı. Son şampiyon temsilcimiz üst üste ve toplamdaki ikinci şampiyonluğu için ter dökecek. 2004 şampiyonu Valenciennes'den sonra bu organizasyonda finale ulaşan ilk Fransız takımı olmayı başaran Villeneuve ise bu kupada ilk kez final heyecanı yaşayacak. 2015'te EuroCup'ı kazanan takım, 2. ve daha büyük Avrupa zaferinin peşinde olacak. Kupa evimizde kalsın. Bu yönde gücümüz de inancımız da net. Tecrübe ve kalite farkına seyirci atmosferi de eklenecek diye umuyoruz. Yürek dolusu başarılar dileriz Kanarya'ya.

*TRT Spor Yıldız'dan naklen yayınlanacak olan maç.

*İlk çeyreğin bitimiyle Fenerbahçe 28-27 önde. Yoğun ve tempolu bir giriş oldu iki takım için de. Maça 6-0'la girmiştik. Sonrasında 12-5'i de gördük ama 14-9'dan sonra 7 sayılık seri yedik. Ardından bizim 8 sayılık cevabımız geldi. Son anlara doğru ise karşılıklı sayılarda Villeneuve daha etkili oynayınca fark 1'de kaldı. Son anda üçlüğü buldular hatta. Biraz final tutukluğu var üzerimizde ama eski anıların canlanmasına gerek yok. Sakin kalırsak farkımızı yansıtırız.

*İçeriye 58-45 önde giriyoruz. 30-18'lik oyun geldim ekibimizden. Çeyreğin başında iyi bir seriyle uzaklaşmıştık ama Fransız ekibi yakaladı. Sonrasında yine farkı açmamıza rağmen 2 üçlükle 40-40'ı gördüler. İşte o noktadan sonra şampiyon takım refleksi geldi Kanarya'dan. 18-5'lik şahane sekansla nihayet rahat bir konuma geçtik. Bu tonda sürdürürsek mesafeyi açmaya devam ederiz.

*Üçüncü periyot sonunda durumu 77-61 yaptık. Dilimin içinde yakın geçen bir oyun vardı. Villeneuve 11 sayı kadar yaklaşıyordu devamlı. Son basketlerle yine mesafeyi açtık. Şimdi son bölümde artık işi bitirme vakti.

*Fenerbahçe 106-73 kazanarak üst üste ve toplamda ikinci kez Kadınlar EuroLeague zaferini elde etti. Son bölümde 29-12'lik harika performans geldi ve görkemli biçimde nokta koyuldu. Bu turnuvayı en çok kazanan Türk takımı olarak yerini aldı temsilcimiz. Villeneuve ise tarihindeki ilk final deneyimini yaşadığı sezonu ikinci sırada bitirdi. Kanarya'ya, tüm ekibe tebriklerimizi, teşekkürlerimizi sunuyoruz. Fenerbahçe Alagöz Holding'de Napheesa Collier 33, Emma Meesseman 22 sayı kaydetti. Villeneuve d'Ascq LM'de ise Shavonte Zellous ve Kennedy Burke 17'şer, Kamiah Smalls ve Janelle Salaun 12'şer sayı attı.

28 Eylül 2023 LDLC ASVEL Feminin Fenerbahçe Alagöz Holding Maçı

*Astroballe'de saat 21:00'de başlayacak olan Kadınlar SuperCup maçı. İki ekip de bu kupa için ilk kez mücadele verecek. Son EuroCup şampiyonu Fransız ekibi Asvel ev sahipliği yapıyor. Geçen yıl Bourges'un kazandığı kupayı müzesine götürüp Fransa'nın serisini sürdürmeyi amaçlıyor. Temsilcimiz Fenerbahçe ise EuroLeague zaferini taçlandırmayı istiyor. Bu kupayı kazanan ilk Türk takımı olarak yerini almayı hedefliyor ayrıca. Daha önce Galatasaray ile iki ve Yakın Doğu Üniversitesi ile bir olmak üzere üç denememiz olmuş ama başaramamıştık. Bu kez şanssızlığı bitirelim. Kadın basketbolunda sezonun galasında temsilcimize yürek dolusu başarılar.

*FB TV'den naklen yayınlanacak olan maç.

*İlk periyodu 26-16 üstün kapattık. Şahane bir başlangıçla çabucak üstünlüğü aldık. Çabucak çift haneleri gördük. Harika girdik.

*İlk yarıyı 51-28 ile kapattık. Muazzam bir oyun var şu an ve pek de yoruma gerek yok. Geri sayıma şimdiden başlayabiliriz.

*Üçüncü çeyreğin sonunda vitesi iyiden iyiye yükselttik. 33-10'luk çeyrek sonucuyla tabelayı 84-38 yaptık. Kupaya son 10 dakika.

*109-52'lik sonuçla kupa bizim! Müthişsiniz! Bir anlık bile duraklamadan şahane bir sonuca imza attık. Baştan sona büyük farkla işi bitirdik. Hem Sarı Lacivertliler'in hem de Türk basketbolunun ilk Süper Kupa sevinci oldu. Organizasyon tarihinde 100 sayıyı aşan ilk takım olmayı da başardı temsilcimiz. Hepinize teşekkürler, tebrikler. LDLC ASVEL Feminin'de Alexia Chartereau ve Helena Ciak 14'er, Laura Quevedo 9 sayı buldu. Fenerbahçe Alagöz Holding'de ise Napheesa Collier 20, Kitija Laksa 18 sayı ile oynadı. Emma Meesseman 10 sayı - 13 ribaund ile ikili çifte yaptı. Kanarya'da 20 sayı, 7 ribaund, 5 asist ve 4 top çalmalık katkı sunan Collier çıktığı ilk maçta en değerli oyuncu ödülünü kazanmayı başardı.

Tetapi, masih kurang jelas bagaimana juice merubah kesehatan periode panjang buat mereka yang tidak kelebihan berat tubuh.

"Ada banyak yang belum kita mengerti mengenai bagaimana tingkatkan kandungan gula dlm skema makan tanpa ada efek yang ikuti pergantian berat tubuh," kata Ferris.

"Sebegitu lama serta sebegitu baik pankreas bisa memproses gula beberapa sebab genetik."

Tapi konsumsi lebih dari jumlahnya kalori harian yang direferensikan beresiko tinggi untuk kita (seputar dua.000 untuk wanita serta dua.500 untuk lelaki) saat kita minum juice, menurut riset.

Banyak riset sudah tunjukkan jika minum juice buah-buahan tidak membuat kita konsumsi lebih dikit makanan lain selama seharian.

Gail Rees, dosen senior bagian nutrisi orang di Kampus Plymouth serta periset pada riset itu, menjelaskan jika penemuan itu bisa jadi karena disebabkan biji-biji buah-buahan yang terdapat dlm juice.

Tapi ia menjelaskan tidak mudah untuk menguraikan pendapat yang pasti dari riset ini.

"Saya pasti masih dgn yang saat ini berlaku, 150 mililiter juice buah-buahan /hari, tapi bila Kamu memakai ekstraktor nutrisi dapat menolong jaga kandungan gula darah relatif konstan." tuturnya.

Tapi sebab mengikutkan biji di dlm juice bisa mengakibatkan ketidaksamaan waktu proses pencernaan, Ferris memiliki pendapat jika ini tidaklah terlalu merubah kandungan juice.

"Juice yang memiliki kandungan serat dapat perlambat penyerapan, tapi Kamu masih beresiko menyerap kelebihan kalori, sebab keringanan konsumsinya. Meskipun begitu, hal tersebut adalah perkembangan dari juice buah-buahan alami," tuturnya,

Langkah lain yang bisa kita kerjakan untuk tingkatkan kegunaan juice buah-buahan buat kesehatan kita merupakan dgn pilih buah-buahan masak untuk menjaga kebaikannya sepanjang bisa jadi, menurut Roger Clemens, seseorang profesor pengetahuan farmasi di University of Southern California.

Penting juga diakui jika cara juice semestinya sesuai dgn type buah-buahan, papar Clemens.

"Dan juga mengenai kurangi jumlahnya kalori serta protein serta lemak di dlm skema makan kita, serta tingkatkan serat."

Jadi walau juice buah-buahan masih lebih baik dibanding tidak konsumsi buah-buahan benar-benar, masih saja ada batasnya.

Khususnya sebab efek bila kita konsumsi lebih dari 150 ml gula /hari, atau saat ini membuat kita konsumsi lebih dari konsumsi kalori yang direferensikan.

Memang memiliki kandungan vitamin - tapi juice buah-buahan tidak bisa lakukan perbaikan dengan cepat.
