Oh my god. I just realized why forever potion!Zane had that weird flirty moment with Lucinda out of nowhere.

It was a fucking MCD reference.

In MCD, Lucinda and Zane were (at some point) being arranged to be married, but then Zane fucked it up (unspecified) and it was called off.

i think the reason mystreet s4 feels so off despite having fairly good ideas is bc of aphmau’s status as the “main character”

specifically, the need to keep our attention on aph at the cost of good competent storytelling. most of the major flaws in storyline execution tend to boil down to “lets insert aph here bc she’s the main character”

like, ein’s yandere aphmau photo wall. claiming that ein’s motive is an obsession with aph directly contradicts his werewolf supremacist ideology, and doesn’t make sense considering ein only wanted to get with aph bc she was the alpha of the highschool not bc of feelings. this crush just exists to insert aph into ein’s beef with aaron.

or that one scene where aph gets weird and jealous about tatiana trying to save aaron’s life. it’s just giving aph more screentime since she didn’t really have that much up to this point.

also, aph’s feelings/trauma are prioritized to the detriment of other character’s arcs. particuarly, the ro’bros, since their arc centers around zane’s trauma which is almost entirely unrelated to aph.

zane goes through the ringer this season (kidnapped, sexually harassed/assaulted, called a liar by his closest friend/family about said SA/H, all of which while under a brainwashing spell that got super close to permanently removing his free will), but is never actually permitted to actually address any of it since lucinda already used up all the non-aph venting minutes. his garroth callout is vague and entirely unrelated to the events of the season because god forbid anyone but aph have lodge trauma. after his forever potion is broken, he is only permitted to be traumatized over shit that happened to aph and “how awful it was to see her hurt and be unable to do anything about it” (apparently aph yelling at him about the ghost thing didn’t affect him at all). even after s4 ended he literally doesn’t mention anything about the lodge but aph’s trauma.

likewise, garroth’s arc is primarily about realizing how inconsiderate he’s been about zane and learning to be more attentive to his feelings. however, this is difficult seeing as he also has aph prioritization issues. it’s hard to believe garroth is really trying to make amends when he doesn’t bother to apologize to zane about the ghost thing even after realizing he was in the wrong, or, despite knowing how awful being under the forever potion is from lucinda, doesn’t hesitate to sacrifice zane’s free will in favor of aarmau and is forced against his will to try and stop his actual brother from being enslaved forever. thus his arc falls flat and sucks

tl;dr emerald secret has first draft syndrome.

Rewriting Ein (Part 1)

I've previously made an analysis on Ein as a character, so here we go at my attempt on rewriting him.

I'm not trying to perfect him or fix any flaws because I think Jess did a way better job at executing him as a character. This is more so my take on Ein and if Ein wasn't Ein, this is how I'd write Ein. I call dibs on this.

It's not really about Ein as a character, it's about the characters around him. We never got the time to explore him any deeper other than the backstory we were given when he was briefly introduced as 'from the Western wolftribe'

I'd wanna introduce two new characters, name not relevant it's only the role that matters. But for the sake of making things easy and making this self-insert-ish, I've named them Erielle and Arya. Because sure.

Erielle would be Ein's little sister. A simple raven haired human. Yes, human. We've established (at least from Aaron) that Ein takes pride most in his ears and tail. So what would that mean for him if he had a human for a sister?

I imagine Erielle not being able to fit in with Ein and his friends if she were human. It would make Ein overprotective of her and explain his obsession over his ears and tails. He'll soon realise being a werewolf gives him power and acceptance. He'll either take pride in being a wolf to protect Erielle, or take pride in being superior to Erielle. Which one? You decide, but I prefer the first one.

Second oc I'd introduce is a crush from the Western wolf tribe, Arya. Again, the name doesn't matter but I made it begin with a because I'd like her to be an Aphmau lookalike. Like practically identical to Aphmau but instead of Aph's hazel-brown-orange-ish eyes(her eyes are orange right-??), I'd imagine Arya to have blue eyes. This could be a nice factor to contribute to Ein liking blue. I'm aware you don't need a reason to like a certain colour, but it seems like a nice little touch to his character and gives us more knowledge of Ein both on the out and in.

I personally don’t give a shit about Mystreet. I stopped watching at the start of Emerald Secret cuz it was such a tone switch from the other seasons like the other seasons was goofy romance drama slice of life n then Emerald Secret happened and….. yeaahhhhhh. I tried to force myself to finish it i really did I just couldn’t i hated it sm I still hate it. Mystreet before Emerald was just something I’d watch casually when I felt like it but it just stopped being good. Like i i i i just. Nah. It went into the same catagory ad Aphmau’s fnaf and side stories for me like i just didnt care
