Dandelion Union Leaders stylization project is finally done!

Took longer than expected and it has been a ride, but I can’t say I didn’t have fun.

This piece was one of my early ventures into stylization and also one that showed me, even better, that stylizing can be freeing.

My favorites are probably Elrena and Strelitzia! Ones I’d like to re-draw most are Brain and Ventus!

Oh btw I drew all of these characters from memory with some intentional alterations... except the Keyblade... bcuz I forgot which Starlight upgrade some of the Dandelions used and only realized my mistake once I already coloured it... so have a weird mix of several I guess?

Additionally, I drew my own keykids in the bottom left corner! Wanted to add more stuff but this artwork was already busy as is.

Friend: What are you thinking about?

If we get a recompleted Elrena in KH4 I really hope the devs don't just leave her as Lauriam's sidekick (THEY ARE PARTNERS) and get rid of all her Larxene-isms. There is no one like her. Not among the ladies. Not even among the entire cast in the series thus far. She was violent. She was a bully. She was fun.

Because of her character file we learn that part of this is a defense mechanism. You won't be hurt if/when people leave you if you never let them in in the first place. Even in KHUX she wasn't very social, hinted at by her chirithy. She actually enjoyed being a Nobody because she wasn't held back by feelings.

This series tells us many times that hearts are stronger when connected to others. We could get such an interesting story arc from Elrena who is insecure about attaching herself to others. Do you know how interesting it would be to see someone like her learn to open up or possibly lose herself by trying to keep these feelings buried?

Me: Not much.
