Elvis Revew
I don’t remember much about my mother, except that she was a very sick woman who died very young. One of the things I do remember about her was she would load all the kids — my brothers, my sister, and I — into whatever car we had at the time, usually a station wagon, and we would take day-long trips throughout New England. Sometimes to Vermont, New Hampshire, or Maine. Those were good memories…

You have to listen to me! It came to me out of the blue, but I think it could really work in the end! Given that most people agree that they'd like to see a series about the Winchesters' teenage years. I saw the House of the Dragon discussion and paid close attention to the young actors - Harry Collett and Elliot Grihault (young Jacaerys and Lucerys). And I realized who they reminded me of! Dean and Sam! (Jensen and Jared). The actors have a similar vibe in their communication and in the show they also played brothers. and I also see the external similarities. Harry is green eyed with chubby lips and rather stocky and Elliot is also green eyed and has the same haircut and he has grown a lot since the show was filmed and I think he is still growing and has already overtaken Harry, which gives me the Winchester brothers vibe even more. I just thought if they wanted to make a series about teenage years, they'd both be perfect. Elliot is only 17 years old and Harry is 19 years old. Now thinking about it never leaves me. I really think they would make a good Winchesters series with them.
I admit I had similar thoughts when I watched House of the Dragon and the two young princes seem to take their grand-uncle/stepfather in stride.
Tumblr media
Even though I knew of Lucery's impending death, that scene still hit hard because he was just a kid. Aemond's face was full of horror as he realized what he's done because he knows Lucerys' death made war inevitable and will change the face of politics in Westeros.
Anyways, even if WB finally gets around to making a proper prequel of teenage Sam and Dean, Harry Collett and Elliot Grihault would be too old to play them.

Welp... (#FireDavidZaslav)
I never though of making this, but a few hours ago, Coyote Vs Acme, the most highly anticipated movie to come out the Looney Tunes, has been shelved and would not be releasing at all.
When I heard this I was confused and disappointed: "Why would they cancel this movie?" I thought to myself. "Oh right, TAXES and MONEY!" I was already aware of Zaslav's mistreatment of animation but this made me sad in particular considering that the movie was completed by the time it was cancelled.
All of those animators that have put their sweat and guts into this film for over two years. Gone. By contrast, the universally-reviled Velma got green light for a second season, while 2023's The Flash not only somehow survived cancellation, but also kept Ezra Miller - who had a lot of criminal activity throughout 2022 - as the titular character in spite of the potential legal trouble they'll get for having a convicted criminal in a role of a mainstream film, let alone still continue acting.
As I said in a comment on a YT video, any hope I had with WB and especially Zaslav is pretty much gone. Hell, I would argue that any hope I had with this year is gone. Between the abysmal beginning (the aforementioned Velma, the career-destroying scandals of Justin Roiland and Elliot Gindi, with the latter having only stared voiced acting for five months before the allegations came out, and the widespread, messy but otherwise pointless Hogwarts Legacy drama), the doubling down of Hollywood and especially WB's maltreatment of animation, several formally revered people getting exposed left and right, and tech giants making inane decisions, most notable Elon's takeover of Twitter and Reddit's API Changes, its honestly not a hyperbole or an exaggeration to say I despise this year. Not to an extent of 2020, but still pretty bad, and 2023 sucking was something I've been genuinely dreading when December of last year came.
And speaking of last year, this day marks the unfortunate first anniversary of the controversy DeviantArt got into when they decided to implement AI into their platform known for art made by actual people, NOT machines. Is every Nov. 11 going forward gonna have a company screwing over their audience and employees?
If there's one silver lining to this devastating situation, it's that the producers of said film would be able to watch it on private screenings next week. That, and the potential content leaks of said film.
At this rate, WB is dangerously close to becoming the ActiBliz of animation - a company full of greedy scumbags who take delight in screwing over their audience and their people.
To close this post off, I will no longer be supporting WB and its related content from now on (at least legally). I'll be removing my profile off of HBO Max (or rather Max) and deleting the service on my TV. I'll also remove every video from the Cartoon Network YouTube channel off my watch history even though they had nothing to do with this situation, I just don't like associating myself with a scummy company regardless of how I feel about the products themselves. That obviously doesn't mean I automatically hate anything by WB nor do I want to remove them from my history, I'm just saying is that I don't want to support anything by WB if that means I'm profiting of from the company. I'll also delete/private my fan art commemorating the company's centennial, because as I said before, I'm not respecting a company that treats its own works like disposable tools while giving other works a slap on the wrist in spite of their abysmal quality. Talk about double standards...
TL;DR: WB cancels a film that has already been completed and everyone is restoring to pirating their content, including me.
EDIT: Okay, changed my mind. I'm ONLY going to delete everything from JUST Warner Bros., the company, not the products they own. That doesn't mean I WON'T be deleting anything that celebrates the company though.
EDIT 2: Even though I'm not supporting WB anymore, I'm keeping my 100th anniversary post (at least on this site) for "archival/historical" purposes.

I have an idea for how WB should deal with the star’s bad behavior…
The studio has worked with a director who has successfully excised a problematic actor… Give The Flash to Zac Snyder. Let him make the edits, reshoots… The character of Flash has the best pre-supported conceit for it… use existing footage to set up The Flashpoint, changes to the timeline have Consequences, and poof, Elliot Page is now Barry Allen.

MIXTAPE REVIEW: FRESHDUZIT
Tumblr media
Freshduzit’s latest album, “Can’t Ignore It,” marks his fourth full project this year, showcasing his prolific output from Indianapolis. Notably, he dropped a chopped and not slopped compilation titled “For Platinum Playmakas and Platinum Playettes,” hosted by Texas legendary chopstars DJ Slim K and his own DJ coalition “OFFTHEWOP tunes” in July 2023.
Freshduzit's latest album, "Can't Ignore It," serves as a trap-fi audio movie, drawing inspiration from mixtape legends like Lil Wayne "The Drought 3." Collaborating with Detroit talents like Veeze, BabyTron, Wb Nutty, and Bandgang Lonnie, and featuring Zeus televised network Baddies East and West, Stunna Girl, and more, the album blends trap vibes with cinematic storytelling. Notably, the track "Simon Says" with Veeze is produced by Shawn Ferrari, known for his work with chief keef and sexyy red . Freshduzit takes a serious turn, infusing substance into his lyrics, showcasing a mature and introspective side. It's a bold step in his musical evolution, promising a unique blend of nostalgia and contemporary flair.

10 Most Anticipated of 2021
Yes, 2021 is 1/12 done. Oh well, better late than never with this list. Here are a few films by some great directors that I look forward to watching this year:
Don't Worry Darling dir. Olivia Wilde
I was totally charmed by Wilde’s directorial debut (which was co-written by Susanna Fogel a pretty charming director in her own right). Don’t Worry is a period piece about an unhappy housewife boasting an all star cast including Florence Pugh, Kiki Layne, Harry Styles and Gemma Chan. At the very least it will be beautiful to look at.
Little Mother dir. Céline Sciamma
Not much has been said about Sciamma’s 5th film aside from the fact that it will focus on the friendship between two 8 year olds in Paris but a new Sciamma film is always a cause for celebration.
The Nightingale dir. Mélanie Laurent
This was supposed to come out last year but covid-19 completely mangled the shooting schedule and it was pushed back a year. The film features the real life Fanning sisters (Dakota and Elle) playing French sisters trying to survive in German occupied France during WWII.
Marry Me dir. Kat Coiro
I make no secret about the fact that I love a good romcom and this one sounds delightful. Jennifer Lopez will play a pop star who at the last second marries a fan instead of her celebrity partner she’s discovered is unfaithful. It sounds delightfully tropey, like a screwball comedy. I can’t wait. It’s also good to see Coiro back in the directing seat again. She made a slew of solid indies before disappearing into TV work.
The Matrix 4 dir. Lana Wachowski
I kind of rolled my eyes when I first heard about this because it seemed like a cash grab from the WB. The last Matrix movie came out in 2003! Yet everything I keep hearing about it sounds bananas. Details have been kept under wraps but the leaks sound bizarre and meta (the Matrix trilogy exists in world in the Matrix 4 which means Keanu Reeves plays Keanu Reeves who is actually Neo???) I don’t know if this is real but I can’t wait to find out.
Passing dir. Rebecca Hall
An adaptation of Nella Larsen’s novel of the same name Passing is about two women, both of whom appear white but have black heritage and one of whom decides to live a life passing as white and the other who doesn’t. It’s personal material for Hall who has a black parent.
Persuasion dir. Mahalia Belo
This is probably going to be a 2022 film but I’m already excited for it. An adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel Persuasion the film will follow former flames Anne Elliot and Captain Wentworth who reunite later in life when their fortunes are reversed. One of my favourite Austen adaptations this one is also written by Jessica Swale (who wrote and directed Summerland) and looks to race-bend Wentworth’s character (which actually would work extremely well with the story). I love it, I can’t wait, and I’m excited that there will be another “straight” adaptation of Austen’s work directed by a woman (in addition to all the modernizations and spin-offs).
The Power of the Dog dir. Jane Campion
This is not a drill people! Campion is back with her first movie since 2009!  Based on the book of the same name by Thomas Savage it follows two brothers who fall out over one brother’s new wife. Kirsten Dunst is in it and I can’t think of a better match up than Campion and Dunst, both of whom have championed women directors (well, white women directors) over the years.
The Story of My Wife dir. Ildikó Enyedi
This was supposed to come out last year but covid-19 disrupted its scheduled release. Based on a novel of the same name The Story is about a man who makes a bet that he will marry the next woman to walk into a café and then becomes jealously obsessed with her once he succeeds. Léa Seydoux is the titular wife but I’m more fascinated with what Enyedi will do with the material as she’s such a thoughtful charming and playful director.
Women Talking dir. Sarah Polley
It has been a decade since Polley last directed a film, her amazing self-reflective documentary Stories We Tell. Well she’s back, uniting with Frances McDormand to adapt this novel by Miriam Toews about a group of Mennonite who have been given an unbearable choice: to either forgive and welcome serial rapists and leaders of their community back into the fold or be expelled themselves. Heavy stuff that I have confidence Polley will adapt thoughtfully.

I was thinking Deancas has this potential to be rebooted over and over. If there was AU where Dean succumbed to Mark or became a demon then the characters can keep being recast without losing continuity since they are both non-corporeal entities.
Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins were phenomenal, but idk it’s such a good romance. WB should just make new movie of these guys saving some random people in a little, obscure town once a year and being domestic.
Like a Fast and Furious or James Bond franchise thing just tell same story over and over and update the setting and actors.
Is there a list of actors that can act chemistry with guys because just top of my head I’m thinking:
Ryan Reynolds Andrew Garfield
Jake Gyllenhaal Tom Holland
Chella Man Justice Smith
Elliot Page DJ Qualls

What I’d like to see at the 93rd Academy Awards
This was a difficult year for many of us, let alone the film industry. Every year I typically do a full alternate Oscars, a sort of simulations where I pick all the winners and nominees if I could stuff the ballots, even to the points of discarding nominations I disagreed with. I did not see a lot of 2020 releases until awards season drew near - didn’t want to have to deal with virtual cinema or too much streaming due to distractions at home - so my opinions are a more incomplete than usual.
So instead of a full ceremony, these are a list of preferences for the actual nominees tonight instead. I am resigned to the fact that the Academy will disappoint me tonight, in the face of some of the most overtly political (but not necessarily artful) movies ever in a class of Oscar nominations. And, as of an hour ago, I have seen all the Best Picture nominees and almost all of the movies with acting nominations. Non-American films predominantly in a language other than English are accompanied by their country of origin (or a three-letter IOC/FIFA abbreviation of that country)
If anybody sees this or dares respond to this, I imagine it’ll be questioning why I’m so down on Nomadland (if Zhao is supposed to be the new face of American cinema, I don’t see it, sorry).
Best Picture
The Father (Sony Pictures Classics)
Minari (A24)
Sound of Metal (Amazon)
Judas and the Black Messiah (Warner Bros.)
Mank (Netflix)
Promising Young Woman (Universal)
Nomadland (Searchlight... rip “FOX”)
The Trial of the Chicago 7 (Netflix)
Should have been nominated: City Hall and Wolfwalkers Maybe should have been here (have not seen, but based on what I’ve heard and will get to over the course of the next few months: Bacurau (Brazil); Collective (Romania) and Quo Vadis, Aida? (Bosnia-Herzegovina)
Best Director: UGH. There’s not a lot of interesting direction going on here. Let’s just say Thomas Vinterberg, Another Round
Best Actor: Anthony Hopkins, The Father
Best Actress: Viola Davis, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom
Best Supporting Actor: Daniel Kaluuya, Judas and the Black Messiah (WB is gaming the system here, because Kaluuya and co-star Stanfield are actually leads)
Best Supporting Actress: Youn Yuh-jung, Minari
Best Adapted Screenplay: Christopher Hampton and Florian Zeller, The Father
Best Original Screenplay: Lee Isaac Chung, Minari
Best Animated Feature: Wolfwalkers
Best Documentary Feature: Collective (ROU)
Best International Feature Film: Quo Vadis, Aida?, Bosnia-Herzegovina
Best Cinematography: Dariusz Wolski, News of the World
Best Film Editing: Mikkel E.G. Nielsen, Sound of Metal
Best Original Score: James Newton Howard, News of the World (though I think they should have nominated and given it to either Christopher Willis for The Personal History of David Copperfield or Hans Zimmer for Wonder Woman 1984... but the Academy disproportionately nominates scores from films in the Best Picture mix rather than outside of that)
Best Original Song: “Husavik”, music and lyrics by Rickard Göransson, Fat Max Gsus and Savan Kotecha, Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga
Best Costume Design: Trish Summerville, Mank
Best Makeup and Hairstyling: Dalia Colli, Mark Coulier and Francesco Pegoretti, Pinocchio (ITA)
Best Production Design: Donald Graham Burt and Jan Pascale, Mank
Best Sound: Coya Elliot, Ren Klyce, and David Parker, Soul
Best Visual Effects: Scott R. Fisher, Andrew Jackson, David Lee, and Andrew Lockley, Tenet
Best Animated Short: Genius Loci (FRA) - my reviews for this category here
Best Live Action Short: Feeling Through - my reviews for this category here
Best Documentary Short: Do Not Split (NOR) - my reviews for this category to be published later today hopefully
WINNERS 3 wins: The Father 2 wins: Mank; Minari; News of the World 1 win: Another Round; Collective; Do Not Split; Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga; Feeling Through; Genius Loci; Judas and the Black Messiah; Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom; Pinocchio; Quo Vadis, Aida?; Soul; Sound of Metal; Tenet; Wolfwalkers

Oh god, Batman: Hush: flim was so   kinda disappointing.
No Killer Croc.  No Oracle.  No Huntress.  No Jason Todd/Clayface.  No Thomas Elliot really being Hush.  No Leslie Thompkins.  No retired Jim Gordon.  No Ra’s Alghul.  No Talia Alghul.  No Harlod Allnut. No Tim Drake.  No Krypto.  No President Luthor.   Superman’s lack of role in the Hush storyline.
Batman vs Superman kinda sucked it turned Batman into a brawler instead of a thinking man Jeph Loeb had written him to be during the battle.
I love how some Batman haters believe Superman won though. It cracks me up but no he didn’t win in the comic and he sure as hell didn’t win in the flim.  Superman was holding  back fighting the effects Ivy had on him.    Batman’s plan was stall Superman not to get a win over him or Batman would’ev figured another way to do so when he isn’t holding  back.  The point is both Superman and Batman held back themselves it was never a fight to the death but for Batman to save Superman.  Catwoman helped too ill give her that incase you felt i overlooked or didn’t want to give her the due she deserved by picking Lois for Superman to save to snap him out of Ivy’s control.
Because of that  despite Superman didn’t approve of the plan to use Lois like that Superman was reminded of  that he gave the Kryptonite Ring to right person who will always find some way to bring Superman back into the light.  Sure they’re more powerful people who can beat Superman but when Superman goes rogue or is controled by someone.  I don’t think of Captain Marvel aka Shazam or  Wonder Woman, but Batman to be the one that knows what to be done.  I liked the line they said to each other.
I love the comic better

Instead we get Superman getting pissed at Batman.
Tumblr media
I was so disappointed that scene from the comic didn’t show up at all.
The Batman :Hush as a flim is okay but.....Would i rush out to buy it in two weeks?  Nope but ill be buying  the trade paperback in September.  Maybe in a rainy day ill get Batman :Hush: flim in all due time but not today.
If Death of Superman can get remade,  so can Batman :Hush: but only one four things that need to happen here.
1.  It needs to be set in the pre-Flashpoint era.
2. They stick to  and honor the source material. I don’t mind alittle changes but come on the Riddler is Hush instead of Thomas Elliot? Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit writing here!
3.  It needs to be a two parter instead of everything being crammed up into one flim.
4. Wishful thinking but i know WB will never do this. Bring Kevin Conroy to voice Batman.  Mark Hamill for the Joker.  George Newbern or Tim Daly for Superman. Jensen Ackles for Todd/Clayface even if it’s a brief moment come on it can’t hurt to do so.  I always felt this storyline was suited for them to lend their voices into the characters  in Batman :Hush:  I know WB won’t do this knowing not everyone is sick and tired of Conroy voicing Batman.  They’re wasting his talent over other crap he doesn’t need to be doing like Justice League Action.  I’m not a huge fan of it i would much prefer  they give him a decent Batman flim.
Added bonus i felt Damian’s disapproval of his dad hooking up with Selina  was kinda funny though.  He like Barbara is wasted in the flim not having much of a role in the flim.  Once Selina is there it’s like everybody is kinda forgotten the Hush flim suddenly turns into a Batman/Catwoman flim instead of Batman solving the case of a new villain who’s entered into his life causing these events  to him.
The people who wrote this flim  need to be fired and never hired ever again. They’re not suited for BatmanInc  or any kind of work.
And DC stop dissing Tim Drake like he don’t matter to anything!

Honestly the movie version of Batman: Hush kind of showcases the biggest problem WB has with handing these properties. Far too much weight is put on recognizable stuff and dumbing down plotlines, even to the point where you are downright weakening the storyline you’re trying to adapt. Take the Batman: Hush movie which is meant to fit into the current DCAU and then compared it to how they handled Batman: Under The Red Hood back in the day. Instead of dumbing down the plot so you don’t leave new audiences behind, you write around it. Want to make Red Hood make sense? Show a scene from Death in the Family. Bam. Now you’re up to speed. Instead Hush removed C-list characters in favor of highlighting characters that already get plenty of time in the spotlight. Instead of just having Killer Croc be there (who isn’t even THAT obscure mind you!) you just dumb down Bain. WHY. The biggest problem is of course: Thomas Elliot. The Thomas Elliot solution is great, and the mystery plays into the strength and weaknesses of the different characters.. but no. Just have it be Riddler. Riddler did it because people like his aesthetic. So now Hush, the actual character Hush, is never going to show up in the DCAU again and The Riddler might be dead. Two birds with one dumbass stone.  Why even bother adapting one of the better Batman whodunnits if you’re just gonna change the solution to the freaking mystery??
