HI I'm currently brainstorming my own very lesbian RPG Maker game, and as kind of a casual gamer, I'm trying to familiarize myself with what lesbian games are already out there!! SLARPG looks amazing, I have a Mac but I'm dying to play it as soon as I can get set up to. But anyway. I was wondering if you know of any other notable games focused on lesbian stories, besides visual novels(I know theres lots of those, but I'm interested in RPGs and life sims.) Was there any other sapphic game that helped to inspire SLARPG perhaps?

The thing is, I can't say I was particularly inspired by other sapphic games when I started making SLARPG

For one, there just weren't nearly as many sapphic games in the early 2010s as there are today. There was, like, Life is Strange and Gone Home, and some RPGs that had some F/F romance options like Mass Effect and Dragon Age, and a small handful of niche indie games like Mighty Jill Off and Lesbian Spider Queens of Mars by Anna Anthropy, but there wasn't nearly as much out there as there is today. Just to name a few, you've now got indies like Butterfly Soup, Signalis, Get in the Car Loser, certain subplots in Undertale and Deltarune, the continued existence of RPGs with F/F options like Baldur's Gate 3, and many, many more games than I can list off the top of my head. There's a lot, especially in the indie space

There are also more AAA games with sapphic characters in them now, but I wouldn't exactly pitch The Last of Us to someone looking for a queer romance story just because Ellie is gay, nor would I tell you to play Overwatch 2 just because the lore says Tracer is a lesbian. And I know Aloy has a female love interest in Horizon: Forbidden West, but I couldn't tell you how much focus that's actually given

But also, SLARPG was based more on my own experiences and feelings, as opposed to being inspired by other works of queer fiction. There was very little out there that I felt I could relate to 100% at the time, so I felt the need to go and make it myself. And, in fact, I kind of avoided playing some other queer games by my peers in the indie scene while working on SLARPG because I didn't wanna be influenced too heavily by them and accidentally rip them off. I just wanted to tell my own story

Terrifying thought I just had:

So, you know how so much og the Phandom likes to envision Danny as a Baby Eldritch Horror? What if, in order to truly claim his birthright as Full Eldritch Entity, Danny has to complete his own Rite of Ascension?

Every Ancient had to go through it. They all stare at him grimly, as they tell him of their own journeys into what it means to truly BE the world around you, to discard mortal flesh and seep into the cracks between planes.

Some were simple.

They were the lucky ones.

Undergrowth stares into the distance as he remembers the time he spent as a murderous little flower, hell-bent on destruction (he had to play Flowey in Undertale :D)

Clockwork refuses to speak of his own journey, and won't tell Danny anything about what's in store for the Hero of Amity Park (I imagine he's somewhere around 19 in this). Just that he should keep in mind his lessons with Pandora, and that not all is as it seems.

As Danny prepares to take his own journey, he hopes his own is also straightforward and simple to pass.

Little does he know, the Beasts of Yharnam howl for his blood. If only he knew the fate that awaited him, deep I the embrace of beast hood and the Blood, and the Nightmare beyond.

(Aka, I suddenly had a need to put poor Danny through The Horrors. Except, instead of with the usual Vivisection and near second death, by throwing him into Bloodborne and make him have to do the secret baby slug ending. He'll be fine, don't worry :)

It'll make him stronger, change his form into something More. But the harrowing Journey will linger in his mind. The warnings of what happens when Eldritch Gods start thinking of Humanity as their playthings, rather than curious children of stardust and ephemeral light to be cared for and gently guided.

I also kinda want him to adopt Gascoigne's two daughters, as a sort of promise to the old man that, if he was the one to put him down, he'll step up and make sure his girls are safe and sound. Ellie laughs her ass off when she meets her two new sisters.)

I know nothing about Bloodbourne but you got me on the Eldritch Entity Danny, that headcanon/concept is just YEEEEESSSS

Although I can see Danny adopting a pair of siblings - welcome to the horrors of an embarrassing, terrifying Eldritch father, kids :D

Oh, man, I love so many characters who make bad decisions! This is going to be tricky.

I'm not sure whether your question was 'who are your five favourite characters who make terrible decisions?' or 'of your favourite characters, which five make the worst decisions?', so I'll give you two lists.

Five terrible decision-makers who I love, emphasis on 'who I love':

Sean Diaz from Life Is Strange 2. Look, I cannot blame this kid for going on the run with his nine-year-old brother. He was panicking, the police were coming, and a police officer had just ruined his entire life, so naturally he was unwilling to stick around and encounter more of them. It was a deeply understandable decision, but it was nonetheless a decision that fucked a lot of things up.

Ellie from The Last of Us. I started loving Ellie in the first game, which was before she started making really terrible decisions. But I still love her after her desperate 'if I kill enough people, I'll feel better, right? right???' quest of the second game, and that definitely means she qualifies for this list.

Jack Shephard from Lost. Jack is a grieving, angry, unstable mess who's been thrown into a leadership position when he's barely clinging onto any form of reason with his fingernails. He has a lot of intense feelings, a gigantic saviour complex, poor self-control and no ability to delegate. Everything he does is a) guaranteed to blow up in his face and b) absolutely fascinating to me.

James Sunderland from Silent Hill 2. Look, if your dead wife tells you to come to a town, and then the town is full of monsters, you turn around and leave. I feel like there was another big terrible decision he made too, but I can't - I can't quite remember. That's weird. I wish I had a recording or something to jog my memory.

Light Yagami from Death Note. Light is very smart, but he's also very proud, and he loves using his own intelligence to convince himself that the correct course of action coincidentally happens to be the thing he really wants to do. Yes, if he kills these people in this way, it'll make him look suspicious. But that's what he wants! It's all part of his ingenious plan to catch L, and totally not just because he wants to send L a personal 'fuck you' message. The 'fuck you' is coincidental. This is a very smart move.

Five terrible decision-makers who I love, emphasis on 'terrible decision-makers':

Seifer Almasy from Final Fantasy VIII. One of the first terrible decision-makers I ever developed a fondness for! Seifer, you can't assist an evil sorceress in taking over the world just because you think it's cool and romantic and you really want to show up your rival at school.

WD Gaster from @zarla-s's Undertale fancomic Handplates. Gaster is an expert in doing terrible things while convincing himself that there's definitely, definitely no other course of action. He's awful and I love him.

Chloe Price from Life Is Strange. Chloe is an absolute disaster in a way I find refreshing from a female character. Playing Life Is Strange is a struggle because I want Chloe to like me, but everything she wants me to do is terrible. I don't want to steal money or shoot people or hang up on my distraught friend, Chloe!

Aaaaand Jack Shephard and Light Yagami again. Fascinating characters. I could watch them making ill-advised decisions all day.

Hi! I’m Alistair— you can call me that, or you can use my username for pretty much everywhere else, TheetyPie/Theety. I don’t mind either way.

I’m a trans guy, I use he/they pronouns. I’m panromantic/asexual, and I’m 27 years old.

I have 3 cats, they’re my babies. I also (as you can tell from above) have a lot of OCs, and the number is still growing. I want to turn my ideas into a bigger creation someday, still not sure exactly where I want to go with it.

I do more than write. I do art, I like video games, music, and just collecting stuff. Current obsessions are Monster High, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, makeup, crystals, and jewelry.

Rules

The most important: I do not RP smut. In the past I’ve used the fade-to-black method, but I’m not entirely comfortable with that with most of my muses.

In the same vein, DO NOT FORCE SHIPS. I love ships as much as the next guy, but I would prefer to discuss it first, or for us to agree on it. It’s cool if your muse has a crush, totally fine— mine get crushes all the time! But make sure if you want to ship, we discuss it first.

In a similar vein to that one as well, no god-modding/powerplaying. If your character is strong, an immortal being, or whatever, cool! I have some of those too. But there should always be a limit. Don’t say your character is moving mine unless we’ve talked about that. Attempt to move them. Usually I follow along as long as boundaries aren’t pushed.

Don’t kill or seriously injure my muse without permission. Fights happen, of course, but again: discussion. I’m up for threads where my canon muses are injured or killed, but not where it happens to my OCs, unless we’re getting into a backstory and another OC that’s already deceased dies. Non-serious injuries are alright to come out of nowhere with, but if it’s a first meeting, I’d prefer to plot it out.

I’m semi-selective. I’m kind of particular about who I follow and who I thread with. I prefer us to be mutuals to thread, but you don’t have to be mutuals to send me things.

I’m very bad at keeping up with people. If you message me and I don’t respond, it’s usually bc I’m shy, I forgot, or I’m busy with work. It’s not you, I promise. Usually I don’t message first bc I’m nervous.

Back to shipping: I’m also multiship. Usually my ships are in different universes, unless discussed with all parties beforehand. The exception is a few of my OCs that are partnered together— ask about their availability. I love random ships, just talk to me about them!

I love duplicates of my muses. Whether it’s “x meets self” or I find someone I share a muse with, I love RPing with just about everyone. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if we have a muse in common!

One of my other most important statements, not really considered a rule, but it’s still important: if you want to know something about any muse, canon or OC, please tell me— ask or message me! I haven’t been able to write down a lot of info about any of them because I’m on mobile, but I will infodump for you if you need/want to know something. I love talking about my children, they’re precious to me.

If you send something in or make something for me when we haven’t even spoken, I might not feel comfortable responding. I’m very shy and nervous about not having any discussion beforehand. 😭

Okay buckle up. First of all? Bisexual. Painfully so. She’s in love with a girl and it’s adorable and sickening. She spends every waking hour being like “I get to see Chloe today. I love Chloe. I can’t wait to talk to Chloe.” When she’s actually IN A BUILDING with Chloe she’s a wreck. Cannot stop giggling. Looks up every time someone passes by in case it’s Chloe. She’s trying to figure out how to ask her out but her only ideas have been “Scientists are interested in science just like I’m interested in you” or “Want a raisin? No? How about a date?” She’s the frontman of an emo cover band and also plays the bass. She’s got CFS and uses a wheelchair. She’s a scene girl with an ungodly amount of hair dye in her closet. What is Your OC Like?

This man is a mess. His father is missing and his mother is dead. His little brother is a weird lil guy and there's this strange black cat that just appears in his apartment sometimes. He's in a polyamorous relationship with his two partners; Sebastian Plight (literally just The Lamplighter from OneShot) and Ellis Grayton (a hot hot woman awooga I love women btw). He writes music and plays at a local coffee shop where his bestie Eugene works as a barista. He might also have a little crush on Eugene so oop. He also has a fat crush on the detective sent to help work on his father's dissapearance case; Mysterium Imerty (my bestie's oc omg hi bestie!!). He also is so cringefail but has somehow pulled more bitches than any man that pathetic rightfully should. His girlfriend Ellis is also a detective sent to work on his dad's dissapearance case and he somehow rizzed that cutie wth a southern accent up (god knows how he managed that). He's also tormented in his nightmares by his original iteration which, if you'll remember, is **Sans Fucking Undertale**. Just imagine falling asleep next to your hot purple boyfriend and some 3 and a half ft tall skeleton-ass motherfucker appears in your dream bitching about how he should be the one with the hot boyfriend and successful music career and skin. Wouldn't that just make you want to win a Tumblr poll?

It may sound surprising but i definitely have heard it coming from men too. Usually in more "progressive" LGBTQ friendly spaces where macho masculinity isnt that prominent. Even in those places being GNC is very much fetishized. Like I said, people think being supportive of GNC means sexualizing us. GNC women in particular are both fetishized and/or "corrected" to make them look more feminine.

Some examples of WLW women who have been subjected to shit are Susie and Undyne from Deltarune and Undertale respectively, if you've played those games. Both are gnc butch-coded/masc women with female love interests in their games yet both fandoms are OBSESSED with either fetishizing their gender nonconformity or finding ways to make them more "feminine". Their femme love interests are even constantly slandered and made out to look like obsessive creeps for liking them since men thirst over them too (Susie from Deltarune's love interest, Noelle, gets most of this because they're the main romantic pairing in Deltarune so far and people despise that their favorite character got put into a lesbian relationship). Some Susie related forums have literally BANNED content of her and Noelle, the actual canon pairing, while allowing other ships. That's the extent lesbophobia goes in fandoms, even fandoms that are supposedly more "progressive" and LGBTQ friendly.

Sorry, that was a pretty long rant and may be kinda confusing. Just wanted to get that out there and give an example since men find ways to fetishize *any* woman, regardless of how socially acceptable it is (including putting themselves in the "submissive" position so people can't say it's weird as theyre "defying traditional gender norms" by making themselves the submissive).

It’s not surprising actually, it would only be surprising if men didn’t sexualize people at all.

I don’t know those games but I am sure the way they’re fetishized is similar to what men do to Ellie from The Last of Us.

Short introduction, Rules and Fandom List

Hello all, My name is Luna, or Ki or Ohara; whichever you may prefer to call me. I am a multi-ship; multi fandom roleplayer thats fairly new to the world of Tumblr roleplaying. BEen at the roleplaying game for a few years so I do have experience. I will try and keep this short so we can get to the fun bits, haha I gladly double/triple and play whoever you may want for your muse in return for my chosen favorites. As I myself am in my 20s+ I much prefer to have a partner of at least 17+ However, if we truly click or it's a fandom that's- shall we say on the rare side {Example being; Yugioh, Shadow and Bone, etc} I may be willing to make an exception to this rule.

night in the woods - emotional story game about mental illness and change, and the struggle with dealing with that. you play as mae, a cat who has dropped out of college and returns to her home town, and there is a cast of loveable characters.

omori - tw for depression, anxiety and su1c1de. you play as omori. you are stuck in whitespace, but it is a pixelated story game about mental illness and trauma, and will give you trauma...

life is strange - story game where your choices matter. you play as max, a student at a posh private school who discovers she has the ability to rewind into the past and change her actions. love the characters and its nice to have my choices mean something (that sounds so melodramatic im sorry.)

the last of us part one - a zombie apocolypse game with found family. has some gore and is sad, but is a beautiful story and i luv ellie and joel. sad man is smuggling hyper child across america in a post apocolyptic world with zombies caused by a fungal infection. it just came out for pc.

undertale - not sure how to describe this. has found family i guess and a massive fandom. you play as you, the main character, and you are exploring a world??? and you can choose to be merciful or aggressive in this world. the music is haunting and beautiful, and it seems fun so far.

sally face - horror platformer with found family. you play as sally face, a young boy who has a facial disfigurment and has recently moved bc of the death of his mother. you meet a cast of fun characters and it is a story game, but it is very interactive and scary. i luv sal and larry's relationship and the dialogue feels so real and well developed.

minecraft - a classic cube sandbox game where you are placed into a world and must survive, you can do anythign basically. ive been playing with mods - all the mods 8 rn - and its super fun, it adds a freshness to the game that it has lacked (ive been playing it for 8 years lmao)

hades - a roguelike dungeon crawling combat game. you are the son of hades and are trying to escape the underworld with the help of the gods of olympus. it is combat based, but the story is fun and the game has good music. you are meant to die and repeat your escape attempts, and the game is interesting to learn.

celeste - a pixelated platformer. amazing trans rep and has a storyline i guess but is mainly platforming. i luv madeline and this game has the most amazing soundtrack. the controls are fun and easy to grasp and the fandom is so nice!!

legend of zelda: breath of the wild - a classic. love the open world, but im personally finding it too tricky. i like the game mechanics but my weapon's are constantly breaking and i am dying sm.

sims 4 - i have been playing the new 'growing together' expansion pack and it is so fun! the infants are so cute and it adds a whole layer of childhood. i have been addicted to cc shopping lately, and am playing with a few mods too!

All of the characters suck. The point of the game is basically that everyone can have an excuse for doing what they are doing but neither is morally correct. And that beside that, you can become a better version of yourself if you work on it.

It's basically a forced Genocide Route of Undertale with more blood and with zombies.

David is missing a chunk of his left ear, as a cat bit it off when he was a kid. since then he's been terrified of cats (but wont admit it)

Sephoras didnt know his hair was wavy for YEARS because he grew up in really bad conditions (financially, emotinally, etc.) and never learned good hygene habits + never had the money to buy good hair products

Lucy is part shapeshifter, her father being an animal-shifter who could change into goats, deer and other similar creatures. while shes unable to shapeshift herself, she does have goat ears and horns, and a deer's tail (this also means she has a lotta bodyhair, including chest hair and sometimes facial hair). also this kind of shapeshifter hybrid (one that has a shapeshifter parent but doesnt have the ability to shift themselves) in Drakenterra is called a caminist :3

Angelica's parents, Johann and Hecate Emperor, have about 14 (?) kids in total, 7 biological and 6 adopted. Angelica is the oldest.

Huen has no surname. When she became a senator and was asked for her full name, she kept saying "just Huen :)" and staring menacingly at them, until they lost their nerve and decided she would be, in fact, just Senator Huen (no last name given).

Angelica Emperor's full name is Angelica Ordolia Celeste Eudora Barbara Emperor, as her parents had so many names they liked and couldn't just pick one (they later stuggled to come up with names for their other 6 biological children, Angelica's youngest sister being named Angelica II).

Bernard almost always accidentaly camouflages wherever he is. He will stand next to a blue walpaper dressed in a shirt and vest of the exact same color. He will blend into the curtains. People often forget he's even there.

Angele knows how to sew and always makes amazing costumes for halloween (once Ellie introduces her to cosplaying, the game is on).

Ellie often makes references to Nullterra's popculture, which confuse the characters from Drakenterra (and a few other dimenstions) immensily. ("And who is this.... General Kenobi???" "Who tf is Bob Ross??" "What the fuck is a thor?" "No, I dont wanna have a bad time??" "I guess I am filled with determination?" "who is rick and why does he roll?" etc.)

Ellie was a fandom kid and probably wears FNAF and Undertale merch around the others (causing further confusion).

Sephoras has a thing for dumb brand names and slogans. He will point them out and complain about how nonesensical they are frequently.

Cyan's music taste changes all the time, one time they'll be making trap remixes of any song they get their hands on, next they're blasting classical music during a car ride, then they're listening to old rock bands the next time you see them. no one knows how many instruments they can play

Lucy can play ukulele and guitar

James collects flowers and Lucy always takes them and puts them into a herbarium. They often try to make teas out of stuff they find too, or use them as herbs. they also make flowercrowns together

Dots and Angele are the rich kids in the friend group, while Cyan and Seph have both experienced poverty at some point in their lives.

Ellie is a child of divorce.
