I think the Universe will always be somehow a mystery and all attempts to imagine the future will be vague primitive divinations. Otherwise we will loose our free will. This is why I am more interested in the past. Eric Wargo talks about our "long self", our future constantly sending us messages. But I can't really care too much about what is to come. Just wishing it all will turn for the best for everyone, eventually. I see "long self" as a filament going through the fabric of the Universe from a very long time ago. Never perfect, but hopefully evolving. Longest period of human history was "prehistory". Hunting and gathering, campfires, rituals, canoes crossing the lakes, smoke over tiny settlements... Maybe we all have this hidden inside us, and that's why we were playing being a tribe so much as kids. Children disagree bitterly then become friends again without much effort. Communication is deeper but also more difficult for adults. But maybe if one has problems talking directly to friends about what's really important, that struggle and often heartbreak will give birth to art, not just a nice fireside conversation for a few, but something for distant and future people. I had been thinking for a while that humans are colourful threads stitching the Universe together, going above and below, through many lives and deaths. Their eternal journey across the lively fabric of space and time, alpha - omega, alpha - omega... Serindë's needle sparkling as she embroiders the World. "The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills." A friend is organising circle dances. I am a bad dancer, never can tell which foot is right, so I am trying to sketch instead. Constant movement and its meaning sometimes create something on my paper through my pens and pencils. Recently I've listened to a podcast with @andyjpizza and @shantell_martin (Creative Pep Talk 376). Some of it was about Drawing without a pen being Dancing and the benefits of drawing live, being in a moment... A synchronicity moment for me. I've already sketched during concerts a bit. I am dreaming about doing more live travel doodles, although feeling very nervous when passers-by look over my shoulder. I used to travel randomly, virtually and safely by Geogessr and sketch. It was good fun. I am going back to filming movement (my own - and the World's) with video. Reinhold Messner was describing his climbing as an art form where lines are invisible but they exist for him. All travel is drawing invisible lines across the earth. All living is drawing through space and time, turning infinite maze of the Universe into a personal labyrinth.
