Gåsmamman anon here; I loved your reply 😍 I have so many opinions but don’t know anyone who watched the show. Sonja is such a complex character, yes she loves her family and wants whats best for them, but she always sees herself as a victim. The beginning of season five when she pushed down the car and killed that whole family- that was quick thinking of her, but she still acted like a victim of the situation. And I was really disappointed in Zac, he also wanted what’s best for his family, but did he really believe that nothing would happen to Linus?? He still didn’t deserve to die..

But ai agree with you. Sonja acts out of love but as the show goes by she loses her morals and her grip of reality. She justifies her actions by thinking irs for her children but she fails to see what harm she has caused them. In the end she's harmed all of them in different ways but all three of them deeply.

It escalates when she kills Zac in order to save her family meaning she acts exactly like Anders did all those years ago.

In the end she loses all of them through her actions. And she's no better than the villians around her. She just tries to fool herself. But being the major just made her go too far and there was no going back. And as all her kids more or less hated her she didn't have anything to live for. So she killed herself, making sure they would be safe.

Only they will still be left with so much trauma she caused them. Hell Nina lost her soulmate and Fredrik his dad. Linus got tortured and Gustav was used as some kind of support crutch.

As for Zac I agree. They mirror eachother a little, him and Sonja. Both are willing to do anything to protect their family. But Zac giving Linus to Vera in order for Nina and Fredrik to be safe made me really question him. Linus lived with him for three years. He was their family too. I know he struggled with that but I he still made that choice. And even if he didn't get killed how did he expect Nina to react? Maybe he thought Linus wouldn't be harmed. Or he just told himself it would be okay in order to be able to live with himself.

I know he was kinda fed up with the Ek family but still. He didn’t deserve to die though and his death scene was so heartbreaking with Nina calling him and him begging Lukas to let him say goodbye.

And Lukas not letting him.

Speaking of which, Sonja also treated Lukas like shit. Sure he was a hitman but she used him over and over. Until he agreed to die with her.

It would be so cool and interesting to know how Nina would react when Linus eventually tells her what Zac did. There were so many questions left to be answered around that.

I wanted to have just a few more minutes of them reacting. Even 30 seconds would have made me happy. But I get that they wanted to end it like that and why.

It just gives me something to think about.

And I wanted some more angst around Gustav coming to Linus rescue.
