one thing I’ve seen a lot of portwells/ej stans mention is that the wildcats were “bad friends” for not helping ej with his stress/pinning more specific blame on gina for not helping her boyfriend when he was stressed. for one, this is kinda blatantly not true. besides the fact that ej refused to ask them for help (and understandably so) by not revealing that he was director at the beginning of 302 or inviting miss jenn to outsource help, for example, most of them helped him/offered to help in one way or another. gina constantly shared her faith in his abilities and even offered to step back on their relationship while at camp to allow him more free time. val appeared to fulfill a lot of the directing role with casting and helping to organize the readthrough. maddox helped with organizing auditions. carlos (along with val) organized rcosl to help get more drama. I could share more examples but they serve to highlight that when ej was drowning, he was not left at sea. a lot of his stress was intrinsic, and even all the help in the world was going to prevent it because of pressure he imposed on himself. to blame his friends, who were there to have fun, with the only responsibility on their plate being to learn their lines, is a misunderstanding of why he was stressed and how he could be helped. the best thing they could do for him was learn their roles for opening night. in fact, miss jenn literally tells him “if they know their lines, they’ll be fine.” i also wanna mention that ej didn’t really seem to be failing at directing. it was more of a combination of personal doubt and the introduction of the production being filmed. the latter likely placed stress on all of them and there was nothing that they could really do to change that for themselves, let alone ej. anyways, all this is leading up to my main question: what did you guys want the wildcats to do for ej? take on directing parts of the show while also learning their lines in under two weeks? magically find him a way to please his father? the stress that ej was under sucked. but it wasn’t the fault of his friends, nor could it disappear in the presence of sweet words. I just wanted to pose this inquiry to his stans and open it up for respectful debate!

ok let me be honest for a second

i love ricky. i love gina. i love ej. i shipped rina so hard at the beginning of this show. but after all the drama that ricky unintentionally put gina through the past 2 seasons rina is a little bit dead to me. but that’s not what i wanted to talk about... spoilers ahead

gina is happily in a relationship with ej. there hasn’t been anything yet that proves otherwise. but ricky keeps inserting himself into their relationship as if they aren’t happy together. and i know people have been talking about the fact that ej has no right to be upset about gina hanging out with her friends (i.e ricky) but that’s not the case rn. ej has no problem with gina hanging out with her friends as we see when she hangs out with literally anyone else. it’s that fact that ricky and gina aren’t just friends yet that bothers both him and me. there is so much history there between the two of them. some angst some romance. so ej being not magically being ok with gina hanging out with someone who is basically her ex isn’t some wild unbelievable thing. we also have seen in the past that despite all efforts from ej ricky has succeed in driving a wedge between ej and his atm girlfriend (i.e nini). so ej being a little worried about ricky trying to steal his girlfriend once again (which is what ricky is basically doing you can’t convince me otherwise) is totally justifiable.

also ricky inserting himself into ej’s relationship once again because he has feelings for ej’s girlfriend is so fucking exhausting for me. he did it in season one and now he’s doing it again. except this time he’s going with a “be friends first” approach. if gina wasn’t happy in her relationship with ej and ricky knew this i would be okay with what ricky is doing. sweep away my friend. but she’s happy and she’s not looking for a boyfriend cause she’s already got one. you said you wanted to be friends with her again and that’s what she sees your relationship as a friendship nothing else. if you have feelings for gina you should at least respect her, her relationship with ej, and ej enough to put some distance between the two of you until you can be friends in the way she wants you to be. so stop it.

ugh i just needed to rant because all of the “ricky getting in between ej and gina” this episode left a bad taste in my mouth. ricky’s not a bad guy and he’s not trying to be a bad guy so please stop trying to put yourself in between two people who are to your knowledge happily in a relationship. like you can actually see the difference between how ricky and gina are “friends” and the way that val and ej are friends. like in ej and val’s talk about the letter a big focus of the conversation was the fact that ej needs to talk to his girlfriend about what’s happening in his life not her. and then ricky’s talk with jet just confirms that at some point ricky is gonna admit to either himself, someone else (maybe jet), or gina that he likes likes her in a way a friend doesn’t. and then during the movie night where we literally see ricky intently listening in on gina and ej’s conversation. like come on dude why must you only go after girls that in relationships??? specially in relationships with one ej caswell???? man’s is addicted to it by the looks of it.

but i have no doubt in my mind that even if/when that^ happens gina’s going to want to be with ej. did you see how excited she got just by ej saying the word love??? like come on that was pure joy right there. i could feel it through the screen.

'Secrets' Part 1

E.J Caswell x Reader

Summery: You have a secret that only Gina, Ashlynn, Nini, Carlos literally everyone in the theatre club knows. Even miss Jen. The only person that doesn't know is your boyfriend E.J. Your secret is that you work with the Flash and when your watch beeps three or more times it's an emergency. Here's where this gets interesting E.J being E.J asked everyone 'Why does she keep running of." Or even "Is she cheating on me?" So yeah your friends and E.J get kidnapped by one your's and Barry's enemies.

You and Gina were at your locker talking about what happend on your last mission when your boyfriend E.J Caswell came.

"Hey e.j." Gina said.

"Hey ranger rick." You said smiling.

"Hi." He said and kissed you, witch took you by surprise.

"Uhhh, best friend still here." Gina stated in annoyance.

"Right sorry, Gina. Oh Y/N I wanna tell you something?" E.J said to you.

"What about?" You asked your handsome boyfriend.

"Uhhh,"

The ball rung and you said,

"Tell me later. Gina and I have Science, we have Mr Fuller. If we're late he will give us detention."

"Bye." Gina said.

"See you later hotshot." You say while dragging Gina to scince.

"Okay, when are you gonna tell him."

"When the time is right."

"And when will the time be right. How long can you keep it up?"

"As long as I need to Gina."

"Really? This has gone on long enough."

"What has?"

"The secrets. The lies."

"If he knows, Marcus will use him agents me."

"Y/N."

"Look Mr Fuller is here so shut up."

In the middle of class your classmates decided to do a tick-tock joke.

"Mr Fuller? It's hot in here can you please turn the heater off." One of your idiotic classmates asked.

"No. You wanna know why. It's perfectly fine in here." Mr. Fuller said.

Everyone except you and Gina pretended to faint.

"Why aren't the two of you doing it." He asked.

"Mr Fuller. We can tell you're mad and we don't want to make you more angry." You say.

"Yeah. And when they said they were going to do it. Y/N and I thought how you would be feeling so, we decided not to do it." Gina continued.

"We tried really hard to get them to not do it but nothing we were doing was changing their minds." You finished.

"Thank you Y/N and Gina you can go out five minutes early." Mr. Fuller said greatly to you and Gina, and then continued, "As for the rest of you......afternoon detention."

"Urghhhhh." The class compland.

"Wanna make it a Saturday?"

"You have to tell E.J." Ashlynn said while the rest of your friends nodded in agreement.

"Have to tell me what?" E.J asked while coming to your lunch table.

"Uhhh, ummmm. E.J Uhh." All of a sudden your watch started beeping. Everyone looked at you with a look that said 'Go. We'll cover for you' you gave them a smile that said 'thanks' and left.

"Why did she run off?" E.J asked the group.

"She has something important to do." Carlos said hoping you would come back as soon as possible.

"So what's the big emergency?" You asked Cisco.

"We got a video message." He repiled.

"From who?"

"I think you know."

"Crap. Play the message."

Video message

"Hello Y/N. Now I'm sure you're wondering why I have sent you a video message. Well, we can do this the easy way or the hard way. You and me go for ice cream. Or else something will happen to your best friends and your so called 'cute' boyfriend. Okay choi."

"Girl you good? You look pissed." Cisco asked you in worry.

"Call him. Call him now." You said in a mad voce.

"Okayyyy."

Cisco called Marcus and he said,

"I see you got my message."

"Yeah I did and you know what captain eyebrows....the answer is no." You say to him coldly.

"Well I guess we have to do this the hard way." He smirked.

I know I haven't talked about HSMTMTS lately, but since the season ended today, I decided to share my thoughts as i watched it. Enjoy my sporadic thoughts.

ej, after having a conversation with gina where she told him that they didn’t feel like they were on the same page, which was a perfect place for him to talk about the letter, said nothing. then, after seeing gina and ricky walk in together, decides to ask ricky why gina is mad at him. it’s telling that a) he could not understand what would cause gina to get mad, a day after she was told her mom would be moving back to slc, which would allow them to be neighbors and b) that he knew ricky would know what made gina upset. he knows as well as we all do that ricky and gina were not on speaking terms until the start of camp, yet he knew gina probably opened up to ricky. ej has never just TALKED to gina when conflict arises in their relationship and it’s becoming a frustrating pattern. I am a rina but I really hope that the two can at least have a candid conversation because it’s getting hard to watch gina carry the emotional weight of their relationship.

Casting Frozen for EJ & Val

i was just on youtube and i saw a sneak peak for the next hsmtmts episode and i thought i would take it upon myself to do val & ej a favor and cast the show for them. you’re welcome. it is currently 12:34 AM. i will come back after watching the auditions episode to reevaluate my guesses and then again after the cast list is posted to see what i got right.

Elsa: Kourtney

There’s literally no need for me to explain this it’s so fucking obvious I will die on this hill. Kourtney is a powerhouse and Elsa is a powerhouse role so come on!

Anna: Gina

Once again dying on this hill too. Come on! Use your brain! It’s literally her season!!!

Hans: Jet or Ricky

I say Jet purely because of his broody bad boy attitude and Hans being one of the villians of Frozen. I also said Ricky because of the clip in the trailer where he dips Gina cause why else would they be dancing together if not to practice for “Love Is An Open Door”?? But if Jet doesn’t audition I legitimately don’t know who would get this role cause I said Ricky is gonna be Kristoff and he can’t play both roles.

Olaf: Carlos

I think this cause of when he played Lumiere for Beauty and the Beast in my brain the roles are kind of interchangeable. Idk why but it feels right in my gut tho.

Kristoff: Ricky

I mean what other option do we have??

Duke of Weselton: Jet?

This could be Jet if Jet doesn’t sing and somehow gets roped into doing the show. But I feel like this is a stretch.

Oaken: Maddox

So in episode 1 Maddox sings Shallow Lake which kind of has the same vibe as “Hygge”, the song Oaken sings in the musical so that’s where I get this from.

Bulda: Ashlyn

I would die on this hill cause this just makes sense. I mean think about it Ashlyn singing Fixer Upper to Gina makes sense cause Ashlyn is the one who is always giving Gina boy advice and the person Gina goes to for boy advice. It would be so cute!!

Young Elsa: Alex

This comes from the new cast member Aria Brooks literally looking like a mini Kourtney in the trailer. So... and it works with having Kourtney be Elsa so.

Young Anna: Emmy

Also coming from the new cast member Liamani Segura looking like a literal mini Gina in the trailer. I really want Gina to play Anna please!!!!!!!!!
