Meet the Eevee evolutionary line, or better known as the Eeveelution family.

Thanks to Eevee's unstable genetic makeup, this special Pokémon conceals many different possible evolutions. Currently confirmed evolutions are as followed: Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon.

What the f*ck is this?

BTW, Chill, the Victini saying that weird sh*t, is said to be probably over hundreds of thousands years old, but is mentally 10 years old, but that still doesn't help because Mana, the Manaphy, is ACTUALLY 5. No, not over thousands years old and mentally 5. She. Is. Actually. Canonically. Five.

Even with mental ages, that a FIVE-YEAR-AGE-GAP.

And this isn't the only time Eeveelution Squad did something like this. Will probably get to that, but it'll probably be a longer post.

Now, they DID make this back in 2019, and now it's 2024, so, I'm sorry about that, and I'm sure they've evolved from that.

I just wanted to talk about this...uncomfortable scene.

Salty Comic Review #1: Eeveelution Squad

[DISCLAIMER: PLEASE DO NOT ATTACK OR HARASS ANYONE MENTIONED IN THIS REVIEW]

Introduction

Eeveelution squad is a DeviantArt comic made by EV-Zero, previously known as PKM-150 which started in 2016 and ended in 2021. This comic was very popular gaining a dedicated fanbase, with many fandubs, art, fanfiction and even fan songs! I know I personally enjoyed it back when I was young, so it holds a lot of nostalgia for me. The author started a reboot of the series but quickly abandoned it, since he was understandably burnt out after working on the comic for 5 years.

Review

As much as this pains me to say, this comic is NOT good. For one, the characters are very basic. I did not care for any of them in the slightest. This problem only gets worse when later in the comic there are way more characters introduced and all of them have the combined personality of a slice of bread. Because most of the characters in the story are eevees or eeveelutions, it becomes difficult to tell them apart at some points. The characters are written in such a way that they don't feel like actual people at all. The best way to describe the writing of this story is, person watches too much anime and shoves every annoying anime trope possible into their story. Many "senpai"s and "baka"s are dropped and it reminds me of those cringey anime kids in high school. The worst offender of this is Glaceon, who has a running bit of harming Jolteon when he does absoloutely nothing wrong. I shouldn't have to say why this is bad. Though this might be partially my personal preference, I hated all of the romances which ranged from vaguely abusive to boring as plaster. If you want to reread the comic for nostalgia purposes, only read the first few chapters, once you get to the special chapters, just stop reading. This comic was such a painful read of 1020 pages, not even including all the extra content. The lore of this story is so unnecessarily complex for a story about which elemental dog is going to smooch who. I could not tell you a single thing about all the lore in this story except there are evil shadow monsters and parallel universes. The lore isn't even important at all to the story. The most irritating thing is that at one point it just starts alternating these long ass exposition dumps inbetween the actual story. The Eeveelution Squad was enjoyed by so many people because it was cute and simple, if it had kept to slice of life it would still be cringey but it would be bearable. But having all this lore literally nobody cares about and pages of long ass textboxes it just not going to work with the kind of story ES is. But no, it had to be dragged out for an unbearably long time because fuck you!

What Eeveelution Squad Characters Would Have From Fish & Chips

To anyone who may point out they are all canonically vegetarian, shhhhh

Speed

Large bag of plain chips with a big side of curry sauce. Only gets a large bag because he knows he is expected to share his food despite everyone else already having their own. Speed gets curry sauce because be likes the curry sauce. He doesn’t get to have his curry sauce.

Flare

Battered sausage and chips (plain). Gets sausage because cod makes Fluffy too excited. If he ever tries to order Cod, Speed and Kris will have a public breakdown.

Kris

Gets a kids meal (cod-bites and chips, salt and vinegar with a side of mushy peas), then steals everyone else’s food (especially speed’s because she knows she can get away with it). Enjoys her sweets and chews them at Lazuli just to have a laugh.

Sunshine

Gets a kids meal with chicken nuggets. Does not realise it is a fish shop.

Pearl

A salad and some fish. If she wants chips she’ll take some of Speed’s (would try to take Black’s because poor speed has no chips left after Kris and Silvia, but Black’s food gives off an ominous vibe).

Black

Regular fish and chips. He gets salt and vinegar, but they never add enough to quench his emo desires, so he adds enough to give 50 people a heart attack. Then calls it perfect. Refuses to share with anyone except Silvia or Sunshine. The one time Silvia took a single chip she projectile vomited and passed out.

Lazuli

Saveloy and chips. Secretly wants to get a kids meal for the sweets but thinks it will make her look childish. Calls Kris a kid and an idiot for getting a kids meal but regrets it because she really wants the sweets Kris is chewing right now

Leaf

Veggie burger. She lives up to her name and is aware of it. Makes cannibalism jokes when she eats the vegetables and salad. Always throws everyone off guard with it because LEAF????

Silvia

If she’s not paying for it, the most expensive thing(s) on the menu. If she is? No she’s not. She will pout until a simp shows up and pays for her.

Extra

Shade gets regular fish and chips with a side of mushy peas. Not because he likes mushy peas, just because he likes to imagine it’s Speed’s head as the mush. Oh and he has his chips plain. He purposefully gets the salt and vinegar just to pour it all over his least favourite guy (Speed)’s food to the point it is also inedible.

Fluffy doesn’t actually get anything and just steals Flare’s food

Solar also doesn’t get anything but if you ask why he’ll just go on a loooooooooong tangent as to why he has specifically chosen not to eat fish and chips like it’s an unwarranted book report. 3 hours (minimum) later and you’re so happy it’s over

Trace gets whatever is popular just because maybe a girl will think it’s cool that he eats it (it never works).
