My hand slipped and I made a timeline of the real lives of all the Poe Party attendees. Just, y'know. For fun.
Interesting notes (spoilers ahoy):
- The timeline is SO close to being exactly 200 years: Jane Austen was born December 16 1775, and Agatha Christie died January 12 1976.
- The closest two in both life and death dates were Emily Dickinson and Louisa May Alcott: they both lived to the age of 55, and their lives were only offset by two years.
- Neither of the two most long-lived attendees, H.G. Wells (died at 79) and Agatha Christie (died at 86), survived the evening.
- Hemingway was the last to be born, but Christie was the last to die.
- Christie outlived everyone, both in terms of age and death date, but she had the least screen time.
- Austen was the first born, and in the show she was the first to die.
- Charlotte Bronte was the shortest lived at just 38, followed by Poe (40) and Austen (41).
- Fun fact: Mary Shelley is definitely haunted, she kept moving around and loading incorrectly for no reason and I ended up having to retake the screenshot three times.
I put this together out of curiosity, because my roommate and I were musing about the disparate lifetimes of the authors, and figured I might as well share it. If you feel like this is Anne Bronte and Ralph Waldo Emerson erasure, you can make your own!
your daily dose of joey richter for today is ernest hemingway from the shipwrecked comedy production edgar allan poe's murder mystery dinner party ❤️ like all of shipwrecked's stuff it's hilarious, with very clever and witty writing!!

Wouldn't be Halloween without some spooky Shipwrecked characters 🎃
Maybe I'm biased cause I love goats and Black Phillip, but Sean's BP is the coolest looking Shipwrecked character and you just have to agree with me 🐐🖤
I've been thinking about Edgar and Annabel for THREE HOURS
Years ago, when I first saw that shot of Edgar carrying Annabel through the house, just know my brain chemistry was changed forever. Shipwrecked comedy: Breaking hearts since 2013 <3
In need of something spooky but also funny this Halloween season? Love A Series of Unfortunate Events or Pushing Daisies? Want a new take on a well-known classic?
May I recommend Headless: A Sleepy Hollow Story by Shipwrecked Comedy - airing now for free on YouTube. It’s a modern reimagining of Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow that puts Ichabod Crane and The Headless Horseman together as roommates, searching for the Horseman’s lost head.
In addition to being chock-full of internet faves like Jon Cozart (Paint), Matt Mercer, Ginny Di, Krystina Arielle, Joanna Sotomura, Lauren Lopez, The Tin Can Brothers, and more, it’s independently produced, beautifully shot and scored, hilarious and just spooky and mysterious enough to scratch your seasonal Halloween content itch.
Shipwrecked consistently puts new, imaginative spins on classic tales, and if you would like to see Hollywood produce more original content rather than just churn out more reboots and sequels, please take the time to watch, support, and share the sort of content that Shipwrecked Comedy creates. If you loved Edgar Allan Poe’s Murder Mystery Dinner Party, you’re sure to enjoy Headless.
So don’t wait! Catch up with Headless: A Sleepy Hollow Story today. Only a few more episodes before the finale airs on Halloween.
