pro deity worship/low energy tip:
you CAN watch tv with/for your deities! and devote it to Them! and use that devoted time as an offering!
your offerings don’t exclusively HAVE to be physical or even only “things that would have been offered at the inception of the religion”. quality time is an offering. and TV (or movies!) can be quality time. as someone who is autistic/disabled, sometimes that’s all I can give (and I’m biased in that TV is my special interest, lol.)
examples:
for The Morrigan, I watch shows about killers, mediums, ghosts, and powerful groups of women. if I’m watching movies, I lean towards Irish horror movies or movies about spirits. sometimes just general dark fantasy movies. examples include Practical Magic (movie), The Hallow (movie), Hannibal (movie series or show but especially show), Psychic Kids* (reality show)
for Hermes, I watch things that are both funny and interesting/educational/informative. if I’m watching movies, I lean towards comedy romps (especially that involve travel) or biopics. examples include We Are The Millers (movie), Rocketman (biopic movie), Hart to Heart (comedy/interview show), Jeopardy!* (educational game show)
for Hades, I watch any and all horror movies, especially those with an afterlife component. if I’m watching shows, I tend to lean towards dark/kooky spooky cartoons. examples include Beetlejuice (movie or show but especially movie), The Cleansing Hour (movie), The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy (cartoon show), Courage the Cowardly Dog* (cartoon show)
for Persephone, I tend to watch anything old, spooky, heartfelt, and aesthetically beautiful. if I’m watching movies, I lean towards dark musical films or romantic movies with a horror twist (bonus points for horror, comedy, and romance all in one). examples include Deathgasm (movie), The Corpse Bride (cartoon musical movie), Elvira’s Movie Macabre (horror movie commentary show), The Munsters* (show)
I put a * next to the programs that I feel They’ve loved the most and have felt truly deep connection with Them over! please feel free to get weird with it, experiment, find what works for your worship. and maybe in the reblogs or tags, tell me what you’ve been watching and who you’ve been watching it with!

No two people's practices are going to look the same. Your practice should be and is going to be a very personalized thing so comparing yourself to everyone else will only leave you feeling like you're not doing enough or like you're doing too much. We all take things at a different pace so don't feel bad if you see someone who has a different path than you.

You can just love.
Today I learned a lesson from Sutekh, that I want to tell everyone, who practice paganism in one who or another. A lesson, that everyone should realise amd remember.
You can just love. You don't need any sign, you don't need to be the chosen one, you can just love. You can love every Deity, every spirit, every forse of nature. You can pick and pray, that how it was in ancient times. What is stopping you from this? Which boundaries? There is none, except one, and that boundaries that we create on our own. You can't imagine, how I drove myself to tears with thoughts that everything should be exactly how in my head. How my throat spasmed, when I saw posts about Loki and His family, how I fast looked away, seeing posts about Zeus, Poseidon and Hephaestus, how my lips pursed, when posts about element connection and Heru the Elder and the Younger and Wesir appears. I kept my feelings locked. "Take time, you will get as good as them with time and learning, it's nothing", – I kept telling myself, while my heart suffered.
There are almost no rules (the one main is respect closed practices, don't be an asshole), except the ones, we created ourselves in our heads. Who told me, that there should be exactly N number of Gods I worship? Who told me, that I should wait a sing? Who the fuck said that all of this is true? There are people and opinions, but there are millions of paths, and it's only for YOU to decide, who to listen and which path take. You don't need to have close relationship, you don't need to "work" with them. You can just love. The whisper of Their name is enough, the thought about Them and your smile is enough. Your simple love is enough. After all, there are no boundaries about worshipping Deities, Spirits, Fairies, Elements, Animals, Nature, Cosmos and Universe except the ones, we, for some reason, create for ourselves.
All this time I kept my love under a lock, just because someone somewhere said or wrote something. All this time I suffered because of this boundaries, that I created myself. Why the fuck I should have them? Why I let someone force me to take another path, that I didn't like?
All this evening there was a big thunderstorm. About an hour there were lightnings, and I felt safe in Sutekh's storm. I started to change, because I wanted, and I asked Him to aid me on this path. But I couldn't do it, if I will continue lie to myself. After all this time, I let myself be honest with my feelings about certain Gods and worship. I wanted to love Them, I wanted to be with Them, even if not as close as with my "main" Gods. It became easier. It became happier. It became right.
I don't think I would be close with Poseidon as close as with Hades, but it doesn't matter. I can just love finding Loki in crunchy leaf, that looked uncruncy, I can just love Wesir and His feeling of home, I can just love Heru, whenever I see a feather.
There are no boundaries (except, again, closed practices), except the ones we created ourselves. You can worship whoever you want without a sing, you can worship a lot of Gods and not feeling guilty, you can not communicating with Them and just believing in Them. You can just love, because love is enough. That is what Sutekh told me, no, remind me. And that is what I am telling you. Just love. Love is enough.

Faith is so difficult for me. I’ve been in many religions even though I’m only 21. I keep feeling this belonging back to Islam, as well with Hinduism, or even Gnosticism.
Then I am like, no, being a Eclectic Pagan is my truth path. Mainly because I will always feel like an outcast regardless of my faith. I believe all religions have some sort of truth to them, ie Omnism.
It’s hard because I feel as though I’m the only one who can’t find the faith I truly belong too. The one I’m meant to belong too.

i figured i'd type this down in case anyone wants to use it for their own practice, or mesh something like this into their own practice, but for messages from deities using tarot, i follow a rule:
shuffle first, as many times as you need.
go through your deck, and find the major arcana associated with your deity.
place the card down, as well as 2-3 cards that follow the major arcana card OR place the card down, and draw 2-3 cards from the top/middle/bottom depending on what feels right for the deity (i've already made a post from this, but for deities that deal with death for instance, i draw from the bottom).
tah-dah, there's your message!
alternatively, you can go through your deck and the first major arcana that comes up is the deity who wants to convey you a message! for instance, if i'm looking for re's card (the sun) and death (for anpu) shows up first, then anpu has stepped in to convey a message instead. you can also do something like this if you don't know which deity to go to, but i stress that you should have a few cards in mind to connect to deities you know want to talk to you.
i may add to this over time, but feel free to reblog this with cards that you associate with your deities! i'll put down my own list.
the lovers - aphrodite
temperance reversed - dionysos
strength upright - sekhmet, ares
strength reversed - bast (my reasoning for this is not because of the reversal meaning of strength, i simply associate her as a different face that strength/sekhmet carries)
the sun - re
death - anpu
the tower reversed - sutekh
the world, the wheel of fortune - sutekh-re
the devil - pan

Howdy! I am thinking of coming back to this blog because I feel like it was important to me. Will be using it at least for a little while.
About me:
26
Transmasc/nonbinary/genderfluid-ish/bigender-ish
White
Primarily worships the Theoi (Hellenic, or Greek, gods), with a few additions
I am not a reconstructionist. I take my religion seriously, but I take my cue from the gods, not internet randos or even tradition 🤷🏻‍♀️ I've have never had an issue when approaching the gods without having washed my hands or face (and I generally forget, even when I did decide to incorporate it into my practice) or such like that. I do follow guidelines for core things, like not offering blood, etc. But I play pretty fast and loose with the rules, so you've have come to the wrong place if you are looking for a resource on reconstructionism. If you harass me about not adhering strictly to tradition and ritual structure, I will block you.
I worship the gods, not work with them. I am not a witch at all! I occasionally do divination (which is not witchcraft) but that is it!
Gods I Worship:
Main:
Dionysos
Hermes
Aristaios
.
Occasional:
Aphrodite
Ares
Zeus
Set
Lugh
Persephone
Lucifer
.
Interested In:
Hephaistos
Artemis
Skadi
Khione
Jesus (in combination with Dionysus, specifically)
Hera
Agathos Daimon (household spirit)
Freyr
Inanna
Loki
Nut
Ra
Geb
Sobek-Ra
Anubis?
I'm am for sure forgetting someone, but brainfart lol
Some Personal Views:
Fuck terfs! The gods love trans people!
Fuck nazis, fuck white nationalists, fuck folkists! Hatred has no place in this community.
Fuck mythic literalism. Please pick up a book and stop lying about Persephone and Aphrodite hating each other. The Theoi don't have irl beef, you can worship any of them with each other—they are a *family.* Additionally, gods were often worshipped together *because* of their beef in the mythos. Persephone and Aphrodite, Athena and Poseidon, Athena was given Pallas' name as an epithet even though she killed her (though they were admittedly friends/adoptive sisters)
The gods aren't going to smite you. This is mainly from a hellenic perspective because I'm am most educated about it. If you don't give an offering in a long time or something similar, you don't have to grovel and beg for forgiveness or offer an extravagant gift. Just give them an offering, talk to em/them, and don't worry about it. Kharis can always be reestablished. An exception to this would maybe be if you broke an oath to a god. THEN asking for forgiveness and giving a nice offering would be appropriate. But they won't kill you or anything. People've who've have done this have mentioned that the blessings gifted to them by the gods were simply revoked, maybe added some additional misfortune. Which is pretty easily rectified, from what I understand. You can make amends. The gods are deeply accepting, understanding, and forgiving. They are not human. We don't live in a myth, and you do not need to fear any real harm from them (*especially* physical)
Related to the above, you cannot offend the gods on accident. If you learn later that you did something that they would rather you not do (in relation to your interactions with them), that's okay! You can do better now, the gods won't hold it against you if you didn't know ^-^ Now if you INTENTIONALLY try to piss them off, disrespect them to spite them in a fit of anger, then it is apology time.
Finally, no DNI. Just don't be an asshole and we're golden.

As theistic Satanists, I feel like it's important to acknowledge the many aspects of Satan. The adversary, the opposer, representation of nature and the material world, the father. There's so many things that represent him and all of them make up who he is. The great dragon, the serpent, the peacock, the raven, and more. I truly love learning about the many faces of Satan, and seeing how each aspect represents him so greatly.
Ave Satanas 🖤

Does anyone have good sources or advice for doing protection spells and making wards while living in an apartment?
This means:
No fire, no incense, no smoke
No hanging things on walls or doors,
No open windows
No stains or smells
