A continuation of my AU where Michael was adopted by the Evans’ instead of Max.

Based on Roswell NM 1x10. Isobel is woken up from her pod. Max talks to Jenna and then they investigate the alien murder spree. An emergency at Liz's lab causes chaos and confusion. Meanwhile, Alex and Kyle discover clues. Signifiant points of this chapter are that Max is the cop who needs to follow the rules and Michael is reckless because he's in love with Liz.

A continuation of my AU where Michael was adopted by the Evans’ instead of Max.

Chapter based on RNM 1x08. Max investigates the alien symbol and learns about his adoption story. Isobel injects herself and gets put in a pod. Liz and Max collaborate. Meanwhile, Alex infiltrates the Project Shepherd bunker.

Notes:

They mention THE RED CRAYON in this chapter! This is the key to this whole universe. We get the first piece of the puzzle when Mrs. Evans tells Max why she didn't adopt Michael. I write that Max thinks about what might've happened if he had taken the crayon...for all the META feels!

Anyway...as a reminder, in this universe, Max was there when Wyatt drew the alien symbol (because he wasn't the one hurt at Green's warehouse, and he was still on duty). Jenna is in the dark and although she is being blackmailed by Jesse Manes, she doesn't suspect her partner. Max has been researching aliens and has been trying to drag Michael into it. But, Michael still has the tattoo because it was him who was drawing it on the walls. Liz and Max have a better relationship than their canon counterparts did, so their collaboration goes easier. We finally see Max's version of the junkyard bunker. Remember, unfortunately Sanders and the junkyard are not a part of this universe. Lastly, we start to see Liz and Michael drifting apart, paralleling Malex in cannon. Alex, already suspicious of Jesse from the drive-in, is more confident in Max's innocence and is determined to help him, paralleling Echo in canon.
