keldabe kisses are the windows to the soul (pt.2)
(tech x reader)
pt. 1 here!  pt. 3 here!
hello, lovely humans! i hope you’re doing well! here is part two! i thought this would only be two parts, but it will probably end up being three. it is a slower burn than i originally intended, but i am having a blast writing the Pining™️.
author’s rec: red giant by stellardrone is a gorgeous spacey vibe of a song and fits this part really well :D
________
You really weren’t that surprised Cid let you go with the boys. She’d taken one look at your suddenly watery eyes when Echo told you they were leaving, huffed, and started digging credits out of her pockets.
“Advance pay,” she’d croaked at you. “Don’t be gone too long.”
It had been two months of jobs, sleeping on the Marauder and eating rations, and you’d never been happier. Wrecker and Omega had taken to including you during their game nights, and Hunter had shown you a few basic moves with his hunting knife. You’d had at least two holofilm nights with Echo and he always cried at the sad parts and always pretended he didn’t. It was, despite some hairy missions and sleepless nights, a quiet sort of existence. So you’d had a lot of time to think.
They’d told you Tech’s thing was his smarts–the Kaminoans had blessed him with increased mental capacity and a photographic memory that made him wicked brilliant and a total nerd to boot. He still hadn’t stopped ranting about the beetles you’d found on Kashyyyk three weeks ago to anyone who would listen (you).
But you swore his real talent was in perceptiveness–he noticed everything.
Which was not helpful when you were prone to staring at him.
He was captivating, and it was horrible. You told yourself it was because of how intent he got on his work, his rare smiles, his gentle hands.
But you knew it was his eyes.
Omega and Kix–God, you missed Kix–were the only clones you knew who ever came close to the particular shade of gold in Tech’s eyes, but Omega’s were too auburn, Kix’s too brown. It was a sharp contrast to the almost greyish-brown of Hunter’s eyes and the bluish tint of Wrecker’s one good eye.
But he noticed every time you started to stare, and you could almost swear he’d started staring back–and that was not something you were prepared to handle. Kix used to do the same, meeting your eyes over trays of meds and bacta, noticing when you got too exhausted or overwhelmed.
But your feelings for Kix were a pretty scar on your healing heart. You mourned him, and loved him, but you knew moving on was what he would have wanted for you, selfless as he was.
And now there was Tech.
You told yourself it was a silly crush. You were lonely, and he was a weird sort of lovely. Gentle with you and Omega, patient, and quietly kind. He’d been the one to let you sit up with him when you needed a night to think, and the one to regale you with the oddest facts about his favorite monsters and animals from adventures to make you laugh and wonder. So you resigned yourself to quiet loving, the kind that didn’t scare people away, the kind that didn’t hurt too much when you had to move on.
And then you hurt yourself during a stargazing trip.
It was the perfect definition of trip, really; nothing more cartoonish could have happened to you than the way you caught your toe on a twisty root and flailed all the way to the ground, making a noise that sounded like a sick Wookie. A nasty flare of pain went up your wrist when it caught the brunt of your fall.
Wrecker laughed first, because it was funny, but he was the first to pick you up and set you gently upright on the ground when he heard you groan. You did your best not to sniffle. They’d all had worse than some stupid scrapes and a tweaked wrist, and you weren’t about to complain.
Hunter assured you your wrist wasn’t broken and took the bandages from Echo’s pack to wrap it while Omega cleaned the scrapes on your chin and palms and knees with something that stung. It was sweet, the way they all gathered around you, a pack of worried siblings.
“I can carry her to the outcropping.”
Tech’s voice was a surprise. He’d silently watched as his sister and brothers tended to you, eyes on your face the whole time.
“That’s sweet, Tech, but I can walk.” You waggled your feet. “Still in tip-top shape.” Your left ankle twinged in protest, and you winced.
____
It made sense that Tech would be able to carry you effortlessly. He was just as fast and strong as his brothers, and one of the tallest in the crew. It was just—he held you like it was nothing. You couldn’t feel him straining, and any shifting he did only brought you closer into his embrace. He’d encouraged you to wrap your arms around his neck to make transporting you a bit easier, and he didn’t seem to mind that you’d rested your head on his chest, eyes closed. There wasn’t much to see until the outcropping anyway.
He had his own scent underneath the regulation soap you all used and it was driving you crazy.
And thinking about it was driving you crazier. You were glad Echo couldn’t see your face because you wouldn’t be able to stand the knowing look he’d give you. Echo’s antics would reveal your feelings faster than you’d ever want.
Faint pink light made you open your eyes just as Tech shifted your weight, setting you down on a flat rock and making sure your legs weren’t folded uncomfortably. He settled next to you and placed a hand over your eyes.
“Tech. What?” You almost pried his hand away but then that would mean touching his hand and suddenly you were overthinking it and twisting your fingers in your lap.
“Wait until everyone gets settled. In approximately seven ticks it will be the optimal viewing time.”
So you sat, trying not to think about how warm his gloved hand was, and breathed out a sigh, focusing on the gentle warmth of the light seeping through Tech’s fingers.
When he drew his hand away everything was new.
Most planets you visited had sunrises in similar colors, buttery yellows and oranges and the sort of pink you loved as a little girl, but this sky was purple, and so clear.
There was faint pink light on the horizon where the sun was starting to come up, lining the few flat clouds with scarlet, but the main attraction was the sky above it, a rich, smooth violet expanse, filled with stars and galaxies like gems on a gown. Even Wrecker went silent after his first delighted shout, and you watched the planets dance in a glassy sky, reflected in the smooth water below the outcropping. You forgot about your aching body during the minutes before the sun broke the bonds of the sea and cast pale, pretty light into your eyes.
There was a glint to your right. You turned just in time to catch Tech shift towards the sun, turning his face into the light.
Where had he been looking before?
It gave you something to think about, for sure, as he carried you back to the Marauder, and you leaned your head against him and prayed that maybe everything was changing.

I Want To Remember (Captain Rex x Fem Reader)
Tumblr media
Words: Just over a thousand
Warning: None just a little fluff Synopsis: Rex returns to Coruscant with the hope of seeing a certain medic again
Returning to Coruscant was always one of Rex's favorite things. Not only for the down time, and seeing his brothers getting the much needed time to rest and relax. But because it also gave him the chance to rendezvous with a certain medic. The one Kix and Fives often teased him about. It had been a coincidence when the Captain of the 501st met her, or so he thought. Fives and Echo had insisted he join them for a trip to 79's, both Arc Troopers refusing to take no for an answer, even when Rex had tried. When they got there, the club was bursting with life, music loud and the lights blinding. The dance floor packed as normal. Jesse was at the bar with Kix and Tup.
*~* Flashback *~*
Kix was talking to a woman, seemingly entranced by her, although that quickly changed the moment Fives waved to him. Kix's expression had instantly turned to one resembling mischief, where as Jesse and Tup seemed to be making a wager between them, no doubt more plans to cause havoc, as was normal when alcohol was involved.
"That's Rex, the one I was telling you about" whispered Kix to (Y/N), a wicked grin appearing on his lips, as he went through with trying to set Rex up with someone special. With the help of Fives, Echo, Jesse and Tup, he'd settled on (Y/N) being that person. Finding her kind nature and sense of humor somewhat perfect for the great Captain.
"Remind me again why you're setting me up with your captain?" asked (Y/N), finding herself lacking confidence. It had been years since she'd been on a date. Even before the war, she'd never considered herself good at the dating game, if anything she was terrible at it. Her last serious relationship had ended after her partner had cheated on her. He had the nerve to blame her for it, saying she was too boring, saying her stubbornness was the problem.
"You deserve better than your last boyfriend and our captain needs to find a life away from the battlefield" responded Jesse, putting himself on guard duty. It was no secret her ex was still sniffing around, hoping for another chance now his toy had wizened up and left him. He'd tried several times over the last few weeks, although she'd made it clear it was over and she have no intention of putting herself through it all again.
"Boys, Ma'am" voiced Rex upon joining the group at the bar, Fives winking as he always did and Echo offering his normal friendly hug. Rex of course noticing, silently questioning whom (Y/N) was and how long she'd been on friendly terms with several of his brothers. Despite his best efforts, he couldn't recall seeing her at 79's before.
"Rex this is (Y/N), medic for the 212th Legion" spoke Kix, introducing the beautiful medic to his friend and Captain. Rex couldn't help the surprise to flash across his features. Cody had spoken of her and her talents as a medic, but never said she was so beautiful, or a conscripted medic. He'd never mentioned her name either.
"Nice to finally have a face to go with the name" voiced (Y/N), her voice slightly raised, so she could be heard of the booming music. Cody had spoken of his legendary friend, like with the others, the Commander had spoken highly of Rex, Wolffe had too when he was around to add his opinion.
"You've heard of me?" asked Rex, feeling proud, such a beautiful woman knew whom he was. "You just got to look around to my fellow brothers, to know my face" commented the Captain, receiving a chuckle from (Y/N) in response. Rex offered a smile, as pride bubbled up. Jesse close by rolling his eyes at the same old comment. A pick up line he'd practically begged Rex to never use again.
Minutes later, Rex had lead (Y/N) over to a booth to the side of the dance floor. The others losing sight of the pair, although each of them had a cheeky grin placed firmly on their lips. Soon enough their other mischievous plans of helmet switch-a-roo would be in motion.
"Another drink?" asked (Y/N), upon noticing Rex's empty glass. She'd found herself with nerves, although it was settling slowly. Rex on the other hand shook his head, leaning back with his brown eyes locked on the beautiful woman before him. "What?" nervously asked (Y/N), beginning to feel self conscious, wrapping her arms around herself in an attempt to cover herself up.
"Nothing. Just trying to take a picture of you in my mind" whispered Rex, determined to memorize every little detail about the medic in his company. Her beauty was something equal to a rare jewel to him. "I want to remember" added Rex leaning forward to rest his elbows on the table. Asking her questions in an attempt to get to know her better. All while being oblivious to Fives, Echo and Jesse, keeping (Y/N)'s ex away from the pair.
"You want to remember me?" questioned (Y/N), a cheeky grin appearing on her lips, as she unwrapped her arms from around herself, moving to rest against the table, ignoring her ex, attempting to get her attention.
"I'd be a fool not to" replied Rex, pressing a gentle kiss to her cheek, hearing a sweet giggle in response. Happy to continue the night, and making a metal note to thank the boys later.
*~* End of Flashback *~*
Ever since that night, Rex looked forward to returning to Coruscant, even more so when the 212th were back at the same time. He knew he'd be gifted with more moments with (Y/N), his not so secret love.
He wanted to thank her, as he did every time he was granted the chance to see her beautiful face again. She'd become the reason he'd continue to fight during the war, she'd become the person his thoughts drifted to during the quiet moments. Whenever he seen something in a market, he'd always think of (Y/N) and if she'd like it.
As of recent though, something else had entered his mind. Despite the war seemingly never ending, the captain had found himself thinking about the future. His future and what it could possibly look like. He hoped to retire in peace, farm somewhere like Cut had. He dared hope (Y/N) would be at his side, offering him the same love she often dotted him with. Just as he dared hope his brothers would also find peace and happiness in their own way, whatever that would look like.
"Meeting up with a certain medic?" Jesse's voice broke the train of thought, the laughter of the others shattering it further. Rex shook his head, shaking away the cobwebs and the image of (Y/N) the night they met. Hoping to burn a new image into his mind that night.

Note: Ok I still haven’t read the newest chapter of Captain’s Log because I want conditions to be PERFECT for my read lol
But I would like to humbly submit this thot:
The 501st come back to Coruscant for some much needed R&R. The boys are once again planning some shenanigans at 79’s. They invite Rex, but nobody is surprised when he declines their invitation to file paperwork and get a good night’s rest. Of course, they give him a hard time - booing him playfully and making fun of his inability to have fun.
What they don’t know is that Rex’d been secretly seeing a Holonet News staffer for months. After shaking them off, he sprints to your apartment, comming you on the way there. The lift ride up your high rise feels like a lifetime.
As soon as he rings your bell and your door swishes open, he throws off his helmet to kiss you hungrily. He backs you into a wall, grabbing fistfuls of your ass and kneading your breast as you moan into his mouth. He’d thought about you the whole campaign and he can’t help his desperation after the long trip back to the Triple Zero.
And it’s not like you don’t feel the same. Because you’re pawing at his chest, hands roaming frantically, trying to find the damn clasps. You both stumble into the bedroom, lips only parting to shed pieces of clothing. There’s no time to turn off the lights and set the mood. As soon as you’re both naked, he’s pressing you up against the wall and lifting you up by your thighs, fucking up into you as his hands and hips pin you in place.
Meanwhile, Fives and Echo are crammed into an air taxi with Kix, but they’re stuck in some bullshit traffic, arguing about whether or not they should have taken the train. then Fives goes quiet and his eyes are just wide and Echo is like “what are you looking at??”
he and Kix follow his line of sight to an apartment building. The lit room is like an exhibit against the backdrop of darkness and they can all clearly see two people fucking.
“Holy karking shit — is that…Rex?!”
B EIDICIWIDIE EX FUCKING CUSE ME nndkxisixiwiaie THIS IS LITERALLY ONE OF MY BIGGEST FANTASIES/KINKS IM GOING TO FAINT !!!!
whoops I wrote more:
Your entire front is pressed against the transparisteel window of your room, knowing full well anyone passing by could see you both. Your apartment isn’t that far from the transport lanes below and at this time of day, the suns setting and the waning light of dusk illuminates every single thing that could be going on inside.
Rex’s fists are in your hair, pulling your face back enough for him to watch your expressions with every ruthless snap of his hips. Both of you had gone too long without seeing each other between his long missions and your long nights at Holonet News headquarters. So that ultimately led to how you were now, absolutely tearing into each other passionately.
You were whining and whimpering and calling his name louder with each thrust, the throbbing width of him hitting a spot so deep inside your guts it made you see stars. “Rex…more. More. Please. Harder. I can take it. Please.” You begged, tears of ecstasy dripping down your cheeks as the overwhelming feeling of erotic delight coursed through you.
His fist in your hair maneuvered your head back and onto his shoulder, the center of his broad, powerful hips driving himself upward to split you open more. “I know you can. Ner mesh’la…such a good girl. You must look so fucking good out that window. Turn back around. Show the whole planet how pretty you are when I’m fucking you.” He grunted, pressing his palm between your shoulder blades to push your breasts against the window.
He buried his face in your neck and nipped and sucked deep purple hickies all along the skin, smoothing over each one with his fingertips curling a possessive grip around you now. You smiled and giggled in delight as the swell of pleasure rushed to your core to meet his thrusts, a cascading, warm tingling overwhelming your insides. “So good Rex. You’re so good. I love it. I love when you fuck me…want everyone to see how much…” you mutter, the words catching in your throat as his last jerk into your pussy took your breath away.
“That’s right. Proud of how good my girl takes her Captain. Just want to show you off. Nobody takes my cock better than you, mesh’la. I can’t stop thinking about how you feel. The whole..fuck- the whole fucking mission..stars you’re so tight…” He tossed his head back and moaned, his hands sliding down to lift your leg and plow in harder.
Suddenly, your eyes locked with a familiar sight you absolutely weren’t expecting. 501st blue. Men you recognized. Rex’s men. You slammed your palm on the window to get Rex’s attention and pointed to where Fives, Kix and Echo were staring with jaws dropped up in disbelief at their Captain balls deep in a display so lewd even they couldn’t imagine it. “Rex…they can see us. Your-” you close your eyes and moan illicitly as his pounding cock hits a particularly sensitive spot in you and sends molten pleasure rocketing through your core. “Rex- your men! Should we stop?” You offered, turning to look over your shoulder at him.
His eyes were wild, pupils dark and lids heavy with lust. A dark, determined and almost ferocious scowl deepened on his face and he smirked back at you. Suddenly, his face was directly beside yours, one arm circling around your waist as he positioned your hips perfectly to rub your clit between his fingers. “Never. Give them a show, mesh’la. You’re mine and now they’ll know it. So let’s show them how only a Captain can make you come this good.” He growled, a final snap of his hips making your throbbing walls collapse around him.
The blinding heat of arousal exploded in your belly as you turned to meet the gaze of men that would never in a million years guess their Captain was capable of something this lascivious. Your mouth dropped open in pleasure as Rex’s name spilled out loud enough to be heard over any of the transport lane traffic passing by below. The numbing sensation washed over you and made all the muscles in your body tense under Rex’s overwhelming touch. His hands held you against the glass, his chest pressed into your spine as he thrust one, two, three times more. You writhed under him as your vision went spotty but your eyes stayed open to watch his men drooling over you in utter disbelief.
You could feel his cock twitch in your wall’s vice grip, warm spurts of his own sticky release filling up the empty space eagerly awaiting his return from his last tour of duty. Your fluttering walls coaxed every last drop of him inside you and you felt him shake violently before resting his head on your shoulder in exhaustion. He panted softly, ghosting gentle kisses along your shoulder and tangling his fingers with yours on the window.
He giggled in satisfaction, giving his boys still blinking up in shock at us from their taxi a mock salute. “Look at them. Bunch of jealous di’kuts. I’m putting them on desk duty tomorrow for staring at you too long.” He lifted his head, the warm, loving brown eyes sparkling with pride and happiness now that he’d spent all his energy with exactly the person he needed.
You leaned in and kissed him passionately, your hand resting on the side of his cheek. “Don’t be too hard on them, Rex. I think they’re just surprised by how you’re spending your shore leave.” You giggled, massaging away the cute grumpy angry scowl on his brow now. “You’re just not as by the book as they thought. And that’s good. That’s what makes you such a respectable and…talented Captain.”
Later on, when Rex gets back to barracks with you in tow, Fives, Kix and Echo can barely make eye contact. Rex stops in front them and demands they stand at attention. “I think we can all be mature here and…keep this under wraps.”
“I’d hope you kept it wrapped.” Kix said raising his brows suggestively and trying desperately to keep a straight face.
Echo snorted, closing his eyes to keep from bursting into laughter.
“Hey! Uncalled for…” Rex countered, pointing a scolding finger at Kix.
“What’s gotten into you, Captain?” Echo asked, taking a deep breath and trying to swallow down the hysterical laughter.
“Oh we know exactly what, well- who he’s been getting into.” Fives quipped, finally making the other two lose it with laughter.
You looked at Rex, his face blushing 10 shades redder than usual and you leaned your head on his shoulder. He ran his palm down his face, totally unamused by the three clowns he had to manage.
You giggled and kissed his cheek, “don’t worry, baby. After what they’re going to hear from us later tonight, we’ll see just who’s laughing. They’ll be begging you for pointers, Rex.”
The three men shut up as you dragged Rex by the hand back toward his barracks for more.

WIP WEDNESDAY
It's Wednesday babes and you know that means *insert an evil cackle here.* I might be slow about writing fics...like...very slow but boy do I have some exciting ideas I can't wait to share. Here's an excerpt from one of my current projects that consumes my mind even when I'm not writing it. I'll even tell you the title so you can keep an eye out for it in the future. Without further ado, here's an excerpt from 'Cody and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad (hair) day.'
Just then, Cody was snapped out of his thoughts by Waxer dragging Echo by his arms right in front of himself and Rex. He watched as Boil positioned himself to slam bodily into Echo, but the man was grabbed and flipped by Fives before he had the chance to execute his plan.  "I wish they'd do that to droids."  "Cody, you and I both know that for whatever reason you're the only one who can punch a droid and not break anything from it."  "What do you mean I'm the only one?" "I'm saying my men have seen you fight and then tried kicking and body slamming droids themselves and they always end up having to go to Kix for something broken." "That's ridiculous! It's easy, all you have to do is-" "Hey Rex, Cody. What's going on here?" Came another voice that had Cody rubbing his temples at the headache that was bound to form. Skywalker. "We're just judging a fighting match." Rex said nonchalantly. "Oh, wizard. Who's winning?"  "Not sure yet, looks like they've moved from man to man to instead fighting on teams." "I hope they all end up in medbay." Cody grumbled.  Skywalker gave him a funny look before looking back at all the men. He seemed to be pondering something, and that worried Cody. They didn't need to have him entering this little spat also, otherwise Cody might end up in medbay himself from a stress headache and a mouthful of broken teeth.  "What brings you here, General." Cody hoped he could change the topic before Skywalker decided to do something stupid.  "Oh, I was in the neighborhood and thought I'd drop by…" Skywalker said with a small grin. Cody caught Rex matching his grin before he found his own face in his palm. Great. If he was just stopping by to see what was happening, he was absolutely going to join in that stupid over glorified wrestling match.
"Relax, Codes, he's kidding." Rex caught his attention with an elbow to his ribs.
"I actually have news of a mission briefing. We're all to be there in a half hour." Skywalker said just loud enough for the others to hear.  It worked like a charm. They all paused mid-fight and stared him down for a moment before they all four began tripping over each other to get to their superiors. "Did I hear you say we're going to have a mission?" Fives looked like a massiff about to get a piece of Bantha meat. "Don't toy with us, General. We've been holed up here for weeks with nothing to do." Echo had a mischievous glint in his eye. "If you're lying, we might just have to bring you in on this fight." Cody strained to keep his body perfectly still and his face unmoving. These men were going to be the death of him.  "It's weird, you'd think there wouldn't be dead space for two whole battalions in the middle of a war." Boil mused.  "Well, I don't know much yet, just that there's a briefing in a half hour and Rex and Cody are required to be there." Skywalker tried to reassure them. "You couldn't have just commed to tell us that?" Cody muttered under his breath, receiving another elbow from Rex.
Hehehe I'm so excited for this one. I'm sure you can take a guess as to what the story is about based on the title, but I'm going to keep it to myself so everyone is guessing.
@missypup I'm tagging you to drop on for wip Wednesday.

The clones as which episode of bluey made them emotional
HELLO IT IS I. I AM BACK, AND HERE AND READY FOR SOME CLONES AS! Ironically I am watching Bluey with a group of little ones as we speak and had to hold back a few sobs a moment ago:'))
Rex- Daddy Dropoff: It's Dad's turn to get the kids ready for school and kindy, but Bluey and Bingo aren't making things easy! Dad tries to keep everything on track, but can't help playing along with their games, making them all late… again!
Echo- Camping: Bluey is on a family camping trip, where she makes a new friend, Jean-Luc. Even though Bluey and Jean-Luc don't speak the same language, they teach each other how to camp, plant trees and hunt a "wild pig"
Fives- Bike: Bluey struggles to learn how to ride her bike, but finds inspiration when she watches her friends' determination with their own tasks.
Jesse-Curry Quest: Bingo and Dad must brave a swooping magpie protecting its nest, when they go on a curry swap to Mackenzie's house through the park.
Kix- Rug Island : On Bingo and Bluey's Rug Island, a pack of felt pens can be anything: bananas, campfires, even a snake. But Dad will need to embrace his inner kid if he wants to make it his home.
Tup- Sleepytime: Bingo wants to do a Big Girl sleep. As she drifts away into a dreamy adventure with Flopsy, will Bingo make it through the night and wake up in her own bed?
Dogma-The Show: When Bingo accidentally spills Chilli's Mother's Day breakfast in bed, Bluey decides they should put on a show to make her feel better.
Hardcase- Army: Jack is the new dog at school and the newest recruit in Rusty's Army. Jack struggles with following instructions and always forgets his hat, but Rusty will make a soldier of him yet.
Coric-Bumpy and the Wise Old Wolfhound :Bingo is sick in hospital, so Bluey and her Dad make, and send her a homemade video to lift her spirits. It tells the tale of Barnicus' quest to heal her spotty dog named Bumpy.
Bly- Onesies: When Mum's sister Brandy comes over for a visit, she brings the kids onesies as a present, which has an unexpected effect on Bingo.
99- Flatpack : Bluey and Bingo turn flatpack boxes into a whole new world while Chilli and Bandit struggle to assemble the furniture itself. it is the symbolism of its final scenes that hit home as we see Bluey pretend to become a mother of her own and watch her own child head into adulthood. The show tenderly depicts her passing as she heads to a heaven-like Utopia alongside her own parents as she watched her ‘daughter’ live on.
Cody- Charades: Bluey and Bingo want everyone to play Charades, but Muffin and Socks are too young to understand the rules, which threatens to derail the game. But Nana has her own special rule so everyone is happy!
Waxer/Boil- Bingo : When Bluey has a playdate at Chloe's, Bingo must learn how to play by herself. But all the games she knows need more than one person! Luckily, Dad has a problem that needs solving.
Wolffe- Stories : Indy thinks she's no good because her model horse looks like a cow, but Calypso encourages her not to give up, so she tries to fix it with a little help from Winton.
Boost/Sinker- Butterflies : Playing Butterflies in the backyard is great fun, until Bluey runs away with Judo leaving Bingo all alone. Now poor Bingo's heartbroken and Bluey needs to make it better.
Hunter- Baby Race: Mum reminisces about Bluey and Judo as babies. Bluey learnt to roll over first, but Judo was the first to crawl, so then it became a race to see who would walk first.
Wrecker- Handstand: At a party, Bingo is desperate to show off her handstand skills, while Nanna can't find a way to make herself useful. They're both feelings bit lost, until they find each other.
Tech- Mum School: Bluey plays mum to a brood of bouncy balloons, including an irrepressible floater named Greeny. But she soon discovers that mothering is much harder than she imagined.
Crosshair- Space : Mackenzie, Jack and Rusty are playing as astronauts on a mission to Mars. But during their journey, Mackenzie keeps going missing and no one knows why, not even Mackenzie.
Omega- Bin Night: Bluey, Bingo and Dad always take the bins out. Over a few weeks, Bingo tells dad about a new kid at kindy who is mean to her and Mum offers some good advice.
Howzer- The Decider: Bluey and Lucky's families get together to watch the big game!
Fox- Copycat: Bluey's having fun copying everything Dad says and does, but the game takes a serious turn when Bluey finds a hurt budgie, and they have to make an emergency trip to the vet
Gregor- Grandad: Grandad is supposed to be resting, but when Bluey and Bingo go to visit him, he makes a run for it with the kids and takes them on a madcap adventure into the bush.

Rexsoka Week, Day 1
Trope: revenge. Prompt: rebels.
1200 words, rated T, canonverse, fluff
hello! it's been many years since i participated in a fandom event, but i thought i'd give it a try. if i do a few of them, i'll post them on ao3 at the end of the week. here's a little fluffy ficlet about rex and ahsoka cheering each other up during dark times. i don't often write canonfic so apologies for any errors.
Everyone saw Captain Rex as this unwavering monolith of a man—stone-faced and serious. The one to drag everyone out of 79’s before the night was over, to remind them this was a war, people were dying, there’s no time for fun. But Ahsoka knew a secret side to Rex, one he didn’t let anyone else see. She was fourteen the first time he flipped her lekku. She felt it but didn’t see who it was, looked around trying to identify the culprit. Masters Skywalker and Kenobi were talking with Cody and Rex, both of whom looked serious as they listened to the proceedings. Granted, she’d been a little spaced out, and that was her fault. In the end she decided it was Master Skywalker subtly trying to get her to pay attention, even though he was more likely to look at her sternly and go, Pay attention, Snips. This could be life or death.
The second time he flipped her lekku, she was caught off-guard again. That time she’d just finished getting patched up by Kix after a particularly debilitating battle in which she made eight mistakes, every one of which Master Skywalker would go over with her in extreme detail, followed by a guilt trip that would be echoed by Master Kenobi. She was pulled out of the fog of her own despair to find Rex standing beside her, looking solemn and severe with his helmet under his arm. And yet it had to have been him. There was no one else around.
The third time, she was prepared. She caught his wrist before he could do it and looked him in the eye. He was smiling, deeply amused about something. For a moment she thought maybe it wasn’t Rex she was looking at, but—blonde hair, pauldron. She’d never seen him smile before. “Why do you keep doing that?”
“Because you need to lighten up, kid.”
She couldn’t believe Captain Rex, president of the fun police, was telling her to “lighten up.”
After that, he started doing it more frequently and more overtly, a little secret between them. He did it before battles when she was scared out of her mind but putting on a brave front. He did it after the most harrowing missions, when they’d barely made it out alive. And it was always with a smile that said, Lighten up. We’re alive, aren’t we? The times she felt most alone, the moments she realized she didn’t know Master Skywalker at all, and she’d never truly known a life without war—those were the times Rex made it known that he was always in her corner.
Much later, after everything fell apart, only the two of them remained. There was no lightening up from what they’d experienced. After Padme’s funeral, it was the two of them alone, adrift, figuring out their purpose, or if they even had one. She was bonded to him now, could close her eyes and feel his heart beating in her own chest. Though things had changed, he remained to her what he’d always been: a spot of light in the darkness.
She hadn’t meant to lose touch with him. They’d traveled together for so long, their relationship felt so secure, she thought parting ways for a while would be good for them. He wanted to find his brothers, which was something he couldn’t do with her around. She wanted to widen the scope of Fulcrum, find others like her.
Foreheads pressed together, they said their goodbyes. Before she walked away, he trailed his fingers down her lekku—a feeling she was now used to but which still sent a spark of pleasure down her spine—and said, “May the Force be with you, Commander.”
*
Days turned to weeks, weeks to months, months to years. She reached out to him several times but he never returned her messages. She should have gone to see him—she could still feel him in the Force, knew he was safe and well. But she let herself believe he had moved on. Or perhaps he’d found some of his brothers and it wasn’t safe for her to go to him. If he wanted to speak with her, he had every opportunity to. But he never did. She didn’t allow herself to be heartbroken—the reality of the times in which they lived was that no one got what they wanted, least of all her.
And suddenly there he was. She might not have recognized him if she hadn’t felt him in the Force. He was broader in the shoulders now, bearded, but still honey-eyed and beautiful. He was smiling at her the way he used to, the us-against-the-galaxy smile, and gently stroked her lekku. She flung her arms around him, pressed her face into the crook of his neck and promised herself she’d never let him go again.
Despite their reunion, there was so much work to be done that she still didn’t get to spend much time with him, and never alone. After weeks of working together, she began to feel a heaviness in the Force, a sense of defeat, and despite his cheerful demeanor, she realized it was coming from him.
He was spaced out while Commander Sato was speaking. With the silence and subtlety years of training had afforded her, she reached up and tugged his beard. He snapped back to attention and glared at her. “Did you do that?” he whispered.
“Do what?” she asked.
He narrowed his eyes at her. She nudged him. “Pay attention, Captain.”
Over the weeks that followed, she made a game of catching him off-guard, tugging his beard and playing innocent. And then a war broke out: he started tugging her lekku again, and even though it was nothing really, it meant everything to her, gave her something to look forward to, these secret moments of intimacy among the greater travesty of the galaxy.
One day she tugged his beard in passing, on her way to a meeting with Kanan, but this time he caught her wrist.
“You need to lighten up, old man,” she said, realizing that for once they were alone. And they were standing very close. She couldn’t help but think of the old days, the two of them traveling together, so in sync, one spirit in two bodies. A partnership she hadn’t appreciated enough at the time, unwavering trust in one person after experiencing the deepest betrayal of another.
“Speak for yourself,” he said.
She kissed him then, something that felt so big and so small at the same time—a new thing in an old relationship, inevitable and yet long overdue. Sweet and easy, a promise of something to come.
When she pulled away, he looked smug like he’d won a game they were playing.
“Later?” she asked, though she didn’t need to. She could hear his thoughts in the Force, see them all over his face.
“Yeah,” he said. “Later.”
In parting, he flipped her lekku. She tugged his beard. Maybe, she thought as she headed to her meeting in a bit of a daze, there was still hope.

ADHD Hardcase
We know Hardcase is hyperactive (he said it, it's canon).
but what about other traits of ADHD?
I want to see Hardcase in the mess hall, trying to listen to Jesse tell a story, but there's a couple tables behind him that are just talking and yes Hardcase knows Jesse is talking but it's like the words aren't reaching him, so he just nods along and hopes he can ask Kix later if he knows the story. He at least heard his name in part of this.
I want to see Hardcase who needs to clean his armor after a campaign, but he's stuck sitting on his bed, overstimulated from the battle and he needs to just *be* for a minute, even though Rex has already told him to get started already.
I want to see Hardcase who doesn't go to 79s the first night of leave, because he still needs to decompress and he promises to go the next night, he just needs some quiet after constantly being around a lot of people, but part of the night he worries that the guys don't think he cares. A couple guys stay behind too and play cards with him with soft music playing.
I want to see Hardcase stuck in the medbay for some injury, and so he rambles about his interests to Kix, who is restocking stuff and giving little nods and noises of acknowledgment. Hardcase prefers to talk to Kix about his ideas for explosion types and other special interests, not because Kix really understands, but because Kix will give him tips on how to keep himself safe on tests and Kix will have a better idea what Hardcase is up to. And he's more likely to be patient and listen.
I want to see Hardcase in the middle of a long boring hyperspace trip and going around the cruiser looking for *anything* to do, from helping Kix sort the medbay, to handing tools to Fives in the hangar, to meditating with the general (the last one lasted the shortest). He ends up training most the time since a lot of guys are willing to spar.
I want to see Hardcase when he takes a section of the hangar to try to make a trap for the coming campaign, which General Skywalker trusted him to figure out given his skills, and everyone that checks on him is marveled because he hasn't derailed or set it off once. It works by the time they get there, and Hardcase is tired. Echo has him sit down to get some food in him, but he's considered the hero of the campaign even more than Skywalker for pulling it off.
I want to see Hardcase who needs to be told the mission plan a second time because his brain just didn't catch the middle part, but he can rattle off some obscure fact Fives told him once on a campaign last month.
I want to see Hardcase in a conversation bouncing from one topic to another, and not understanding how the person isn't following because they are all connected, he promises. Then he finds someone at 79s who *is* able to follow and you better believe he made a friend for life.
I want to see Hardcase in a mission briefing, but he keeps moving because he needs to in order to focus. Someone calls him out on it, only for Jesse to pipe up and tell them to leave him alone. Jesse makes sure to fill Hardcase in on the mission as they head out, because he still decided to keep still after the reprimand.
I want to see Hardcase pre-mission sitting with a cup of caf, because he found it helps a bit and the last thing he wants to do is mess up and lose more brothers to something out of his control.
Just... more ADHD traits.

Space Sick
A lovely someone requested a fic where Fives takes care of a sick Reader, so here's me trying my hand at a short piece of it.
No warnings.
GN!Reader
Word count: 566
It's hiding underneath the break! ;)
You coughed. You’d been feeling unwell all day, but still you got up, knowing you had things to do, things that couldn’t wait.
You coughed again, this time drawing a look from the man who had been standing over a holo-map.
“I thought I was supposed to be the attention seeking one, eh?”
That made you laugh.
Bad idea.
You could hardly catch a breath and it didn’t help that the energy it took to finally gulp more air into your lungs seemed to be all that you had left. You rested your head on your hand and slumped over the control panel.
“Hey hey, what’s the matter?”
“Just a bit under the weather.” Your head slipped out of your hand and your face met the fibreglass at a speed of approximately 10 metres a second, but you didn’t even react. Not a cry, not a startled shout, just a low groan.
That was concerning.
You heard something being dropped and a scuffle.
“Fives,” you muttered stuffily, your blocked nose eminently noticeable as you spoke. He put one arm around his shoulder and walked with you back to your quarters.
“Hey, no, I’ve got-”
“No! You’re not doing anything!” There was a slight panic in his voice and he sped up, plopping you down onto a couch and throwing a blanket on you, then wincing and pulling it off and tucking you in more properly.
“Now you sit here, hold on.”
You laughed to yourself as you saw him rushing around the place.
“Echo told me how to deal with someone who was sick before, so you’re in good hands.” He nodded to himself triumphantly.
“You didn’t listen to a word he said though, did you?”
“No, and I didn’t need to. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about now, you shush, have this.”
He had come back with a mug of soup, but just as you were about to take it, he took it away, a look of horror on his face.
“WAIT NO”
And he ran off, and you just smiled, resting your tired head on the sofa as you listened to his sounds of vague panic and distress.
“IF SOMEONE FINISHES A DRINK WHY DO THEY PUT BACK THE EMPTY CAN IN THE REFRIGERATOR??”
A little rummaging later and he returned, a cup of visibly hot soup in his hand — with a spoon this time.
“What do you need — no, nevermind, I’ve got it.” And with that he buzzed off, letting you begin to slowly sip on your soup which was just the thing you needed.
You heard him turn on his comm in the other room.
“Kix, I know it’s not your shift but answer your kriffing comm channel, this is an emergency.”
As you sat there, wallowing in freakish misery, Fives paced, muttering to his comm and then before you knew it he was back, nearly tripping as he slid across the floor with a glass in his hand.
“I know it’s not sprite, but we only had diet and,” he visibly grimaced and shook his head. "I wouldn't subject you to that."
“Thank you,” you muttered, holding out your hand to still him. “Come here.”
He sat next to you and you leaned on him, curling into a ball and nursing your drink.
“You want to watch something?” he asked, smiling at you.
You beamed up at him. “Telenovela?”
“Telenovela.”

Finding Family - Chapter 1 - Stealth Mission
“Rex, I’m going to need you to run a stealth squad through here.” Anakin says, pointing to a small village on the outskirts.
“We think there's a group of natives who are stuck there.” Anakin closes the holomap and stands up from his crouched position. “Your mission is to go make sure they have enough rations till we can get them out.”
“Yes sir,” Rex nods to the general before continuing, “Who will I be taking?”
“I’m going to send you with Jesse, Fives, Echo, and Kix.” The general then turns and starts walking to the main control room of the temporary base. “Make sure you have extra rations and medical supplies. That’ll be all Rex.”
“Yes, General.” Rex salutes before turning and heading towards the barracks.
Once he reaches the barracks he heads over to where a group of clones are all relaxing and talking.
"Alright, Jessie, Fives, Echo, I need you for a mission." Rex states.
"Well what is it captain?" Echo asks, there were no scheduled missions today, so the sudden change was interesting to say the least.
"We're going on a stealth mission into one of the villages. There's supposedly a group of natives stuck there, we're going to make sure they have enough resources till we can get them out. If they don't, we'll come back and get some and bring them over there. Any questions?"
"No sir." Came the three identical voices at the same time.
"Alright good, Echo, go get Kix and relay the mission. Tell him to pack more than usual incase anyone needs medical attention."
"Yes sir." Echo replies before grabbing his helmet on the way out.
"We all know why he told Echo to get Kix." Fives whispers to Jesse, laughing. In return he gets a light wack in the back of the head from Echo as he's passing with his helmet.
"Sorry, didn't see you there." Echo looks back with a smirk. Jesse just laughs as Fives rubs the back of his head.
Once the boys got all their gear packed up they started heading out. It was an overnight trip, half way through the forest, and the other half searching in the village. They plan to make it to the village that night, camp out at the entrance, and then continue into the village the next day. As the group travels they enjoy the peacefulness of the forest. The break from all the action was nice for them, Rex walks up ahead, watching for any threats, while Fives, Jesse, Echo, and Kix follow behind, laughing and joking occasionally. What the boys don't realize is that there's someone watching them. Two purple eyes watch them from a nearby bush.
As they continue through the forest, the sun begins to set. They haven't made it as far as planned, but that doesn't bother them.
"Do any of you feel like you're being watched?" Fives asks, cutting into the silence.
"Yeah, been feeling that since we started." Jesse comments back.
Rex has felt it too, like something is following them, yet they haven't seen anything out of the ordinary.
"It's just your nerves talking, although I do suggest we set up camp, it'll be dark soon." Kix says to Rex, quickening his pack to walk side by side with him.
"Alright, there's supposed to be a cave somewhere up ahead, we'll settle there for the night." Rex replies to Kix.
Echo suddenly hears something rustling in the bush. He stops for a moment and turns to look at the bushes to the side of the path.
"Hear something Echo?" Fives stops to look back at his brother.
"I think there's something in the bush?" Echo states, slowly walking over to the bush. He slowly moves the bush to the side and looks behind it. What he isn't expecting is the little girl hiding behind it. She just sits and stares, waiting for him to move first. She has light skin, with brown markings around her purple eyes. Her short, dark blonde hair fell around her face down to her shoulders, and she wore a simple soft green colored shirt, oversized on her little body, it hung almost down to her knees. She had on white skin tight pants, almost brown now from all the dirt, and light brown boots.
"What are you doing in the forest kid?" Echo questions her.
The little girl just sits and stares, unsure of what to do for a moment before she yells, "DROIDS BAD!" before picking up small pebbles and throwing them at him.
"Hey! Stop that!" Echo holds up his hand to block his face.
"We're not droids, look." He carefully removes his helmet and the girl stops.
"Not a droid?" She tilts her head slightly looking at him.
"No, this is armor, it protects us." Echo explains, at this point his brothers have gathered around him, all looking at the girl.
"Where's your family kid?" Echo asks her, setting down his gun and helmet.
"They fell when the light hit them." She explains, and the boys just stand there staring. "With something like that." She steps out from the bush and points to the gun Echo recently set down. None of the group speaks up, not wanting to tell her what really happened.
"Well why are you out here?" Fives chimes in, drawing the girls attention to him. She just looks at him confused, not really knowing what she's doing.
“I don’t think she knows.” Kix says, kneeling down in front of the girl. “Are you injured? Lets see here.” Kix removes his helmet before gently reaching out to her. She flinches back for a moment before letting him touch her. Kix gently looks over her arms and legs for any marks or injuries.
“Seems all good to me. Here.” kix says after a moment, before reaching into his backpack and pulling out one of his ration bars. The girl gently takes in and quickly eats it, not having eaten food in a long time.
“Well what do we do with her?” Jesse turns to Rex.
“I- uh, I guess she can travel with us until we find someone who can take care of her.” Rex suggests. He then kneels down next to Kix. “What's your name kid?”
“Caym.” The little girl replies.
“Nice to meet you Caym, I’m Rex. This is Kix, Jesse, Echo, and Fives.” Rex points to each as he says their name. Caym smiles shyly and waves at each of the clones before turning back to face Rex.
“Where are you going?” She asks him.
“To a nearby village, do you want to come with us? Is that alright?”
The girl just smiles and nods her head.
“Captain we should probably get to that cave, its getting darker by the minute.” Echo chimes in.
“Right, boys, let's get moving.” Rex nods at the girl to follow them and they start off in the direction of the cave.
They walk in silence on the way to the cave, everyone lost in their own thoughts about the girl now traveling with them. Rex continues to walk in front, Jesse following close behind. Then Caym between them and Fives and Echo, who are walking side by side. Kix walks next to the girl, silently keeping her company. Caym watches the forest as they walk, the darker it gets the closer she seems to watch.
She suddenly grabs Kix’s hand and pulls on it.
“Droids, Droids!” she whispers to him. Before he can look up a small group of clankers come out from behind the tall bushes.
“Clankers!” Kix yells as the droids begin to open fire on them. Caym runs and hides behind Kix’s leg as the group of clones start shooting back.
“Kix, get her out of here. Echo, Fives, use your grenades. Jesse, keep shooting as many as you can!” Rex yells orders at all of them through the blaster fire.
“Come on kid.” Kix shoots back a little while guiding the girl through the tall bushes on the other side of the path.
“Cave, Cave!” Caym tries to pull Kix farther into the bushes. Kix holds still, just making sure Caym doesn't fall.
“I have to go help them, you wait here.” Kix steadies the girl before running back out to help fight the droids. Caym crosses her arms and glares at where Kix ran back through the bushes.
Caym waited in that spot for what felt like forever. When the clones finally came back through the bushes she was sitting on the ground against a tree not far off.
“Alright, where's this cave you were talking about?” Kix leads the boys over to her.
“This way.” She jumped up and began walking.
“Are we sure she knows what she's doing? It's dark and she's really young.” Echo voices his concerns to Rex.
“She knows this planet better than we do, and if she knows of a closer cave we have a better shot of making it there. As for it being dark, her species is known for having really good eyesight.”
“Alright, but if we get lost that's on you.” Echo teases his brother.
“Keep up!” Caym suddenly says before running into the forest. While she is small, she has great eyesight, and has great agility. She darts around trees and through bushes, the group of clones almost having a hard time keeping up. After running a short distance, they reach a cave that wasn't even on the republic's maps.
“Did you know this was here?” Jesse asks Rex, but Rex’s face says it all, they didn't even know this existed.
Caym enters the cave first, everyone else following after her. She watches as they all detach their sleeping bags, and roll them out on the floor. Fives detaches a heating lamp from his pack, setting it in the middle and turning it on. Caym quickly walks towards it and sits as close as she can without getting too hot. The boys all exchange glances, before sitting at the ends of their bags. They each get out a ration bar and bottle of water, taking sips and eating in silence. Rex offers Caym a sip of her water and she gladly takes it.
They spend the rest of the night making a plan for the next day and having light conversations about different things. By the time they all are ready to go to bed, the problem of Caym not having a bed arises. She long ago fell asleep leaning against Rex, lightly sleeping as they talked. “She can sleep in mine, I’ll take the first watch, we’ll just rotate bags.” He suggests. Everyone nods in agreement. With the help of Fives, Rex manages to get Caym inside his sleeping bag without waking her. As the rest of the boys settle down for the night, Rex sits right inside the entrance of the cave, checking back and forth between outside and Caym cuddled up in his bag.

when your hands are cut off / and no one answers the phone
Kix is pushed, and pushed, until he starts to crumble. His pieces are sharp and maybe deadly.
Title taken from the poem The Fury of Abandonment by Anonymous.
Prompt: Giving up.
(tw noncon mention, mental health issues, grief, canon-typical dehumanization, discussions of suicide, implied violence, possible malpractice, ambiguous ending)
You can find the whole collection on AO3 here.
Most of the time, it's just a thought.
Of course, Kix knows as well as any vod what thoughts have led to. He's taken away enough sharp objects, tended to enough self-inflicted blaster wounds, dealt with enough overdoses or "accidental" attempted trips out the airlock to know how easily thoughts can kill you.
But this doesn't feel quite like that, and Kix supposes that's at once a comfort and concern. After all, suicide makes sense, if nothing else. Most vode have struggled with those thoughts at one time or another; they'd have to be the robots people think they are not to. Even Kix knows what it feels like to want to just pick up a weapon and make it  stop.
This isn't a desire, though, even the poisonous kind. It's more of a question.
See, Kix is watching the light leave a brothers' eyes on a battlefield, or pulling out sedatives from somebody else's screaming nightmare, or waking up from his own screaming nightmare on the medbay floor after collapsing from so much time without sleep it would have killed a normal human or trying to figure out to tell someone the longnecks aren't going to pay for prosthetics or talking to some natborn asshole in the GAR supplies division who could be persuaded to sign forms for more bacta and he wonders--
What are we doing here again?
He knows the basic answer, of course. Kix has had it drilled into his head since birth, defend the Republic serve the Jedi rotting corpses seed the stars blah blah blah. And of course, there are other, less charged answers--defending civilians, restoring peace, saving lives, the things that the clones cling on to when the Republic as a whole screws them over and over.
A noble cause, one that only a truly selfish person would reject. And Kix...Kix didn't think he used to find it this hard to not be selfish.
Selfishness is trained out of the Jedi, of course, but in their own way it's been trained out of Kix and his vode, too. Or, rather, they've been taught they don't have selves to be selfish about. What does a speeder have to cling on to? What does a blaster need to whine about?
Kix has a self, of course, but he's also spent many of his formative years surrounded by Jedi and ori'vode who've encouraged him not to be selfish with it. So, he reminds himself about all the good he's done, the people he's helped, and it makes the question easier to bear.
For a while, anyway. But the doubt keeps coming back, a little bit stronger each time. The questions multiple--not just Why this? Why us? What will they do when they don't need us anymore? It's like rising water poking at the cracks in his mind, and it takes a little bit more effort to block it out every time.
And Kix...he doesn't really have that much effort to spare, really. But still, he can do it. He can keep his head down through the same steady grime of war, all the brothers and sisters and siblings who get killed or kill themselves or get decommissioned without a word of warning, and he can endure.
But it's not the same steady grind; it gets worse. Umbara, a nightmare that will haunt Kix till he dies. Zygerria and trying to tend to Rex's burns while he sobs silently into the bedspread. Echo. Hardcase. Dogma. Tup. Fives. Elliot Rico Anne Kickback Blast Reverse Wander Starburst Candy King Daisy John Motherfucker Nightingale Wire Wheeze Loop Rocky...
All the while, the clones are rapidly losing whatever little credibility they have with the Republic. Civilians, even ones rescued in war zones, spit on them, scream slurs, hide their children as they pass. The Senate debates whether to cut funding for food and resources even as demand for new soldiers spirals that some of the new shinies haven't even cracked eight. The Jedi protect them, except when they can't or don't, and only the Jedi get funerals.
The cracks get wider. The exhaustion grows deeper. And it gets harder to remember why he shouldn't give up on the whole stupid mess of it all, the Republic and the GAR and the civilians, a decent chunk of whom probably won't raise so much as a whimper when they all get slated for decommission when--if--the war ends.
Nobody's decommissioning us, Jesse says firmly, because despite everything Jesse still has the Republic cog tattooed on his head, still remains convinced that the system has at least some worth, that there's something they can salvage. And Kix isn't sure of that anymore.
Instead, he tries to be practical. Even if he and whoever he could convince did turn their back on it all, where would they go? What would they do? The Kaminoans made a point of not teaching them any civilian skills, and most of the incoming shinies know even less than that. How could they provide for themselves without the Republic's support? Individuals could survive quietly on their own (or not, re: Slick) but whole legions or battalions never could.
The problem with the question is that the answer is very cruel and very simple. Kix looks away from bodies being hurriedly dumped out the airlock to make room in the medbay, studies the blasters he and his vode carry without thinking and knows  we can take whatever we want.  They have the skills, they have the technology, and Kix has talked to enough vode who feel a bit like him to suspect they might have the motivation.
Kix won't, of course. He's not that far gone. He still knows there are good Senators fighting for them, still remembers the civilians who thank him when he tends to them or one of their own. He doesn't really plan on scorched earth, even if the fantasy probably shouldn't soothe him as much as it does.
Still, the knowledge that he could is heady. Frightening, almost, but also thrilling. Kix is a cog in the machine, and he doesn't have any real power, except when he does.
He's not a Jedi. He wasn't raised in a creche, wasn't taught to use his power wisely. He was taught he had no power at all, and he grew up on Kamino, where only the strong survive. The ones who are willing to do whatever it takes, no matter how much it hurts.
Perhaps that's a good enough explanation for why he finds himself standing in front of a bacta tank with a needle in his hand. Perhaps it isn't. Kix hasn't slept in thirty-six hours and his brain is mostly running on coffee right now, so he doubts he can examine himself carefully enough to be sure.
"You okay, boss?"
He turns, blinks. Hana is standing behind him, arms crossed under her chest with a look of concern. She's got circles stained under her eyes and her dark curly hair is escaping her usually neat braids, some of it sticking to her sweaty forehead. She smells faintly of blood, shit, and vomit, although Kix undoubtedly smells worse.
"Boss?" She's still looking at him. Hana turned ten last month and Kix got her a cookie that she ate while recovering from a blaster wound, writing files with her free hand. She waited to choose a name until she could access the Holonet because she wanted to get something from Prime's people, their people. One of her batchers died in battle, one blasted his brains out, one is on the Corrie Guard and always shows up to their meetings bruised, one never made it off Kamino.
Any Jedi, Admiral, or civilian could walk into the medbay right now and shoot her in the head, and at the very worst they'd get a fine for damaging Republic property. Kix thinks of that fact a lot these days.
"I'm fine," he says. "Just...thinking."
She smirks, waving up at the Jedi General floating in the tank before them. "Admiring the view?"
Anakin Skywalker floats behind the glass, eyes closed as dark hair drifts around his head. He's beautiful, Kix supposes, from an objective standpoint, but the sight doesn't really make him feel anything. He doesn't love the General, not like Rex does, or even how Fives did, and he never will.
"No." He's surprised by how short his voice is. Hana frowns but doesn't comment.
"I..." She sighs, rubs her eyes. "I came to tell you that Teeth is stable, but we--I couldn't save their leg. I had it disposed of."
Disposed of.
Like Teeth will be disposed of, because prosthetics even the poorest civilian can usually get their hands on aren't available for them. He doesn't know anything about Teeth except that their hair is pink, they're about the size of a natborn seventeen-year-old, and they like to sing. He still knows he doesn't want to see them dead.
Won't it?
He doesn't know anything about Teeth except that their hair is pink, they're about the size of a natborn seventeen-year-old, and they like to sing. He still knows he doesn't want to see them dead.
"You did your best, Hana," he says, not looking away from General Skywalker. "Get some sleep."
"I need to--"
"Is there anyone in immediate danger of bleeding out or suffocating or walking out the airlock again? Did some moron get something ridiculous stuck up their ass?"
"No, but--"
"Then go clean up and get some sleep. That's an order, soldier."
"Sir, yes sir." He can see her rolling her eyes in the glass and saluting before swaggering off. Kix smiles to himself and doesn't think about the likelihood of her surviving the year.
He returns his gaze to the bacta tank, to General Skywalker. He got injured on yet another reckless charge, the same one where Teeth got hurt and Prime knows how many troopers died. Nothing serious, of course; he'll be back on his feet by the time they return to Coruscant.
They've got a limited number of tanks, but Skywalker gets one, of course--the natborns always get one. And Kix knows how important a soldier General Skywalker is, knows how vital he is for both the war effort and the 501st's survival, but still...the natborns always get bacta tanks.
Kix closes his eyes, opens them, looks at the tubes leading into the bacta tank. He taps his needle against the glass, running his finger across the plunger.
Tanks fail sometimes. Not a lot, but they do. And there are all sorts of little imbalances that can take the standard human body down before it even feels any pain, leaving nothing for a medical examiner to use as evidence. Kix might get decommissioned anyway, for letting the galaxy's precious Hero with No Fear kick it under his watch, but no one else would be punished.
The thought is repulsive, horrific. Not quite as bad as what Slick did, killing
vode,
but close. Or, who knows, maybe it is worse, because Slick was made reckless by desperation, but Kix feels precise, calm, almost cold inside. He looks at the problem like an injury or an illness, strips it down to basic components, and sees an answer he can't quite look away from.
General Skywalker loves them, doesn't he? He fights for them, with them, and does a damn sight better job of it than Krell ever did. And Rex loves him so much, Kix knows. He's not sure of the exact shape of Rex's affection, but he doesn't need to be force-sensitive to recognize his strength.
But...but today was not the only moment of recklessness that got vode killed. And instead of growing stronger and more careful, like Commander Tano had once upon a time, Skywalker is getting worse. Casualty counts are climbing, costs are mounting, and Rex's attempts to keep some bit of order usually get brushed off or, more frequently these days, receive anger and belittlement.
Kix knows why, of course. He knows all about Ahsoka leaving with just a comm message to Rex, leaving without a word to anyone else because Jedi can just do that that. And Anakin is hurting, angry, Kix knows, but that doesn't make him not want to stomp and shake him, screaming So what? So what? It happens to us, too! We lose our vod'ika every day, we don't fuck with people's lives because of it!
He doesn't. Because he respects General Skywalker, technically, although really, it's more about not making the man angry. He'd sent Rex stumbling into a wall the other day during an argument and--and it wasn't like Krell, with none of those of his brutality, and Skywalker had rushed to Rex's side apologizing immediately, but. But.
The general grew up a slave, not a Jedi, Rex says. It's hard for him. You have to understand. The problem is that Kix  does  understand, because Skywalker's childhood nightmares are his waking ones.
And now Teeth is going to walk up in that bed tomorrow knowing that they're a dead soldier walking, or not wake up at all. And there are vode rotting on the fields of a planet whose name Kix literally can't remember right now, and everyone knows exactly how Hana's batcher and the other Corries have to serve the Senate every day, and when they get back to Coruscant Skywalker is going to ditch them for his oh-so-secret wife who will probably vote to cut military funding, and--
There's a reward for Skywalker's death. Billions upon billions, more money than Kix can fit into his mind. There are secret places on the Holonet that the vode have carved out for themselves, avenues Kix can use to transmit photos and vital readings. The inevitable grand funeral will make authentication even easier.
He can pay for Teeth's prosthetic leg before the Kaminos order a decommission, get a new bacta tank without having to get on his knees for some scuzzy bastard, purchase medical droids, rent therapy tookas, get estrogen for Hana and all the other sisters who want it.  And if Skywalker got replaced by someone worse, well, they could
disappear
, too, like Kix should have disappeared Krell if he'd had the guts.
Or...they could just run, all of them. Run and run and never look back, destroy their comms, pretend the Republic and Kamino was just a bad dream, build something new from the ashes.
It's stupid, of course. Ridiculous. It's cruel. And Rex would never speak to him again if he found out, might just put a blaster bolt in his head.
The Republic needs Skywalker. People across the galaxy see him as a symbol of hope; he's adored by so many. It would be cruel for Kix to take him away. He knows exactly how cruel it would be, because he knows what it's like to lose and lose and lose and--
Don't give up on Skywalker, Rex had told him. What he'd meant was, Don't give up on this war.  Because if he did, Kix doesn't think he could handle what comes next, what they would have to do to keep surviving, without losing his soul.
But. He is. So tired. So very, very tired.
His needle taps against the glass, steady as heartbeat--or maybe a heart that's winding down. Skywalker's not going to be under for long. Medics never have enough time to do everything they want.
Tap, tap, tap. He stands there, and thinks, and the ship sails on through the endless black.
______
Happy AAPI month! Fun fact, Hana's name is taken from this helpful list of popular Māori girl names from 2015.
Also, it's Memorial Day in my country. Most of our wars were based off of unutterably stupid causes, but that doesn't mean the soldiers who got sucked into them don't deserve our respect. Respect your local serviceperson, hunt your local politician, and for the love of God, don't set off fireworks until you are absolutely certain you're not going to mess with any of your neighbors' PTSD.

Rex laughed as Leia reached out towards him through the hologram, Anakin laughing and bouncing her as they discussed how the new planet was working out for the clones.
With everyone moved off Kamino, they’d started setting up by company. Close enough that it didn’t really matter, but it limited bickering on who lived where. Housing construction was still nowhere near done, but it wouldn’t be hard to finish once the republic sent some construction droids their way, for now they had to do everything themselves.
“Once Padme’s feeling up for it, we’ll come visit.”
“Take your time, we’re not going anywhere.”
“Still, we miss-”
A loud wail from Luke cut him off, causing Leia to join in, and Padme to yell from another room asking if everything was okay.
“Hey, hey, come on now,” he shushed Leia and turned to Luke, he sighed, “duty calls.”
“Hmph, take care, general.”
He reached to turn off the holo disk.
“Hey, you’re not a soldier anymore. It’s Anakin.”
“Of course,” he hovered over the off button, “general.”
Turning the disk off before Anakin could say anything else, he chuckled.
It would be nice to see the twins in person, but he was far too busy to make a trip out to Naboo, and Padme was still adamant that travel was a no go. Not that he blamed her, their little family needed time to themselves.
A loud thud and boisterous laughter resounded from outside.
Sighing, Rex made his way outside.
“What was that?”
“We’re clearing trees to make a path between the 501st and 212th, unless of course you’d like to wander through a forest everytime you want to head that way,” Tech said, pointing out another tree for Wrecker to topple.
“How hurt do you think I’d be if I went down with that tree,” Jesse asked offhandedly.
“Very,” Kix sighed.
“I’m sure you’d be fine,” Crosshair said.
“Don’t listen to him, he just wants to laugh when you get hurt.” Echo turned to Rex. “Whatever you do, do not let Crosshair convince you to do anything, he’s already convinced way too many troops to go into the caves.”
“Is anyone hurt?”
“No,” Crosshair snickered, “but listening to them scream was fun.”
Tech sighed, “He set up comms in the cave and when the shinies entered he had Wrecker yell into his.”
“I think I’m starting to like this place.”
“Rex!” Gregor called, making his way through the woods from the 212th’s camp. “General Kenobi dropped this off for you!”
“Did he say what it was?”
Rex’s brow furrowed as he took the small drive.
“I didn’t ask, figured it was probably something from general Skywalker or commander Tano.”
“How come the general never gives us anything?” Jesse whined.
“Because you’re annoying.”
“Well, thanks. I’ll go take a look.” He turned back to his house, one of the few barely constructed ones, and called over his shoulder, “Don’t kill each other.”
“We would neve-OW.”
“Sorry!”
Rex smiled to himself as he got back inside, staring down at the drive while he set some water to boil. Obi-Wan had given all the commanders and captains a box of tea when he came by the other day. An introduction to civilian life, he’d said. The perfect way to relax.
Leaning against his table, a rickety thing he was waiting to give out, he plugged the drive into his holopad. By the time it finally loaded, he’d finished making his tea.
“Oh,” he said once he opened the first file.
The drive was full of files from Kamino, mostly on the inhibitor chips. He’d asked Obi-Wan if he could find them for him, assuming a Jedi would have an easier time, but he hadn’t actually expected the general to follow through after he’d reminded him he was now a civilian.
Scrolling through the list, most of them were on the overall creation of the clones, the insertion of the chips, and the early development of clones. There seems to be no adverse reaction to the inhibitor chips, it’s as though they aren’t present. A note from Nala Se remarked.
Another document caught his eye though, this one was missing a name and the title was Combat model and strategies. He assumed it must have been written by Jango Fett, it would make sense that the Kaminoans would have him create a file on his combat style to apply to the clones training, but the model was mentioned to be female. It seemed completely accidental, just one use of her in an otherwise vague report, but that piqued his curiosity.
As far as he knew, there were no non-women involved in the clone program aside from Shaak Ti. But this person was obviously not a Kaminoan and was most definitely heavily involved in the program.
“Who are you?” He mumbled, ignoring his tea as it turned cold in favor of searching for all mentions, or lack thereof, of this woman.

Forgive me (Echo x Medic Reader) Part 6
Tumblr media
Warning: None, just a little bit of light teasing
Words: 1.6K
:readmore:
"Will you just ask her already" commented Fives, looking to the trooper so often branded as his twin? Jesse was nearby along with Hardcase, both of them nodding along. Jesse had long since grown tired of Echo's flirting, even more so to watch the Arc Trooper make a fool of himself. Yet none the less, he encouraged all his brothers to find love.
"Kix" called Hardcase, a sharp chuckle escaping from his chest. "How's your little task going?" asked the hyperactive trooper, a mischief glint in his eyes. Something that didn't go unnoticed by Echo. The Arc Trooper shot a dread-filled look between Kix, Fives, and Hardcase, Rex close by also looking between the group, although his eyes glimmered with curiosity, a small amount of mischief sprinkled in. Kix soon looked up from the datapad he'd been reading over, checking over the list of supplies that needed ordering before the 501st shipped out again.
"You mean trying to convince Snap to give this idiot a chance right?" questioned Kix, a cheeky grin coming to his lips mere seconds later, a soft chuckle escaping him soon after. Even more so when he saw the horror pass over Echo's features. Almost as if the idea of (Y/N) knowing about his crush on her, was a nightmare come true. Fives stood close by, for the first time at a loss for words, although it suddenly made sense by Kix had been hanging back at the medbay when Snap was there.
"Makes you wonder what the Wolf Pack thinks of it" announced Jesse, he could recall coming across Comet during the last trip to 79's. The Wolf Pack in their normal booth, howling every now and again. That being a rare occasion Wolffe seemed to be letting his guard down and enjoying himself, although he was still keeping a close watch on the boys. Comet had asked Jesse how Snap was doing, asking if the boys of 501st were treating her right, and if she'd punched anyone yet. Jesse had answered the questions, at the time he'd been tempted to divulge the information about Echo's secret crush, but soon thought better of it. Especially when Echo was so determined his little crush, firmly in the secrecy aisle, determined he was going to put his duty as a soldier before his own feelings and desires.
"Think of Wolffe as the protective older brother" called Rex, knowing Wolffe had truly taken to (Y/N), as had a few others who had the delight of working with the civvi medic. A chuckle escaped Rex upon recalling an incident that had landed the tough Commander in the military cells for the night. Octavius had been hassling (Y/N) throughout her downtime on Coruscant, constantly bugging her and not seeming to get the hint she didn't want to be around him let alone talk to him. Wolffe in his drunken state had punched the civvi, although he'd been taken back to the military base by Fox, the other Commander had simply told Wolffe to sleep it off and hadn't reported anything.
"We both have a duty to do" voiced Echo, finally regaining his confidence and will to speak. "Plus I'm a clone, we don't have the luxury of choosing what we do. Of having the freedom to love and live a life outside of the war" elaborated the Arc Trooper. Not seeing the way Rex look down, clearly remembering Cut, who had willingly chosen to desert the Republic and the war in general, he'd chosen to live peacefully on a faraway planet, as a farmer, with a wife and kids. To those who knew of Cut, they considered him to be by far the bravest of the clones, as he'd gone out there and gotten what he wanted, he made something out of his life, that was more than existing only so he could die in a war, only so he could become another name few in the republic would care to remember.
"Ever think maybe Snap is just waiting on you?" asked Cody for the corner of the durasteel room, the room itself acting like an echo chamber and bouncing his otherwise calm voice around. The room soon fell into silence. Rex looked in the direction Cody's voice come from, whereas Echo and Fives both seemed to freeze in their position. Hardcase on the other hand soon began to move around again, his hyperactive nature preventing him from staying still longer than a few seconds. Jesse on the other merely shook his head before beginning to clean his blaster, a ritual he did before and after every battle, in a way it settled his nerves.
"I forgot to ask, where is Snap?" asked Hardcase, bouncing on the spot now, Kix was close by, finishing the order for the medical supplies, already guessing Rex had finished his own ordering, for the extra blasters, ammo and plastoid armor they were always in need of. The rations too.
"She's attending her sister's wedding. Although reluctantly" responded Kix, recalling (Y/N) hadn't been excited about the wedding, if anything she appeared to be the opposite. She had dread in her eyes as she all but dragged herself to leave the military base the day prior. Almost as if she knew the wedding wasn't going to be any fun, but another way for Isolde to torment her further. Another way for her eldest sister to show off and make fun of others. "She'll be back the day after tomorrow unless we get another mission before then" added Kix.
"Fine, I'll ask her when we return from the Citadel assignment" sighed Echo, finally surrendering to what his brothers had been encouraging him to do for weeks on end. Fives could only grin from next to him, patting his twin on the shoulder, resisting the urge to let the comment that come to mind pass through his lips. Maybe Snap would give him a kiss for good luck.
"I'll hold you to that" announced Fives, her cheeky grin remaining unmoved. "If you don't then I'm setting you two up on a blind date" commented the Arc Trooper, chuckling as Echo practically begged him not to do it. "Or Hardcase would just outright tell her" added Fives, Hardcase confirming he would do just that, a second later with a small comment Damn right I would.
"Would be nice to see her smile again" whispered Echo, admitting a truth he was determined few others would know. He knew Tup was right about a few things, such as (Y/N) being a civvi thrust she was free to love as she pleased, something the Jedi were forbidden from doing, even if most had broken the code at some point or another. Yet at the same time, Snap had also proven there were some rules even she found ridiculous, such as the troopers not having proper representation in the Senate, despite them being on the front lines of the war and constantly making the biggest sacrifices.
"Who would have guessed Snap would have been the one to get our Echo to break the rules" commented Cody, now from beside Rex. At some point, he'd quietly made his way over. The great Captain attempted to hide the shadow of a smirk, fighting to appear on his lips. Although he was unsure which had tickled him more, Cody being under the impression Echo hadn't broken any of the rules before, or Echo being secretly willing to discard the rules when it come to Snap.
"You act like Echo isn't already a rule breaker. Rex normally has to retrieve him and Fives from the cells after a night of drinking" voiced Jesse from the opposite side of the room, not bothering to hide the enjoyment he was getting out of the situation at hand or miss the chance to tease Echo that bit more. Fives soon chuckled, recalling Rex had been down to the military prison that many times, all he had to say now is I'm here for my Arc Troopers.
"I recall having to get you from those cells as well. Most recent one being after you thought it would be a good idea to stand up while piloting a speeder" quickly replied Rex, chuckling to see Jesse's cheeks begin to heat up, although he was drunk at the time, it was clear the trooper recalled what had taken place. It still amazed Rex, no one was hurt and no accidents had been coursed. Although there were a few angry citizens and police droids involved.
"Wait, Jesse got arrested again? Where we me and Echo at the time" asked Fives, amazement lacing his voice to think he'd missed something like that. Or at least hadn't heard about it until now. Echo soon began to chuckle, it quickly registering with him, they were likely already residents of the military prison by that time. Especially if Rex's deadpan expression was anything to go by.
"Already tucked into the cell that's reserved for us" laughed Echo in response, watching as the realization washed over Fives, and how Kix looked over as it was obvious where the pair were. Even Hardcase had an expression that asked if Fives was serious with his question. Cody and Rex on the other hand merely chuckled to themselves. A comment escaping Cody, regarding Snap being able to keep the boys in order. Another escaping him suggesting it was something he wanted to bare witness to if it ever happened.
At the same time, Cody began to wonder what the angelic medic would be like when working with some of the others, including the unorthodox Clone Force 99. She'd already shown she could handle the toughest, just as Snap had proven she wasn't afraid to flirt back with those who would find the courage to flirt with her. Especially Gregor.

Rex: You’re leaving?
Echo: Yes.
Rex: Well I guess you belong with the-
Rex: *has a think*
Rex: hold on a minute, what exactly qualifies you as a member of the Bad Batch? What exactly makes you genetically defective?
Echo: Well, I have prosthetics and I’ve been a Separatist prisoner for a while.

flirting with the clone troopers
Tumblr media
I got bored and wrote a thing. Please enjoy my short little drabble on what flirting with the clone troopers would be like. It’s trash but it’s my trash <3

Obi-Wan had playfully labeled you a menace to the GAR. You didn’t blame him, but you wanted to throw it back in his face that he was just as bad as you were. The only difference was that you seemed unable to differentiate when it was entirely appropriate to be the outright flirt that you were.
In front of the other Generals in the middle of a briefing? Perfect time to tell Commander Neyo how great his thighs looked in that kama.
On the field in the heat of battle watching troopers toss spears literally through people? “Well now Captain Rex, what mighty strong arms you have.” *wink wink nudge nudge*
One time you and Commander Fox had been force thrown across a room only for you to land on top of him and it just slipped out naturally: “you know, all the times I’ve thought about being in this exact position with you, I never imagined it starting out like this.” He plays off the choking sound he makes as being injured from the hit you two just took.
Domino Squad are by far the most fun to flirt with because they don’t hesitate in the slightest to flirt right back.
Fives has got to be the worst of them all.
Seriously he has zero game but all the confidence of a man who does.
You absolutely love it.
Even when you’re injured and Kix is trying to stitch you up you can’t seem to hold yourself back.
“Alright General, lay down and let me work my magic-” “Kix, how unprofessional of you! And right here, in front of the others?” Anakin has never facepalmed so hard in his life. Kix’s face has never looked so red. You’ve never laughed so hard. It gets worse.
“I- ugh- you’re gonna need to- I need-” “Use your words Kix, c’mon man I’m bleeding out here.” That was a lie, but the gash on the inside of your thigh was pretty gross looking. “I need to be in between your legs.” You comply with ease and put on a shit-eating grin. “I hope you know I’ve dreamt about you saying those exact words- OW, Kix be gentle!”
The responses you get from the clones vary. Some of them openly flirt back, others get extremely flustered which is sweet to watch.
One time you were at 79’s hanging out with the 212th when some of the newer troopers walked in with the 501st and you couldn’t restrain yourself from sauntering on over. “How’s your night going boys, why don’t you introduce me to the shinies?”
Fives smirks and throws Tup into the deep end on this one. You reach up and tug at the troopers long hair just slightly, which makes him blush hardcore. “Go easy on him, love, you’re gonna give the poor guy a heart attack.” “I promise I’ll be gentle. Unless of course you ask me not to be.” Fives rolls his eyes and tells Tup not to take you too seriously and that you’re like this with all the troopers.
He was right, of course.
Some of them genuinely make your heart melt though.
For instance, Echo is a sweetheart. It doesn’t matter what you throw at him.
“Well now, don’t you look handsome in your new arc trooper armor.” “Nothing compared to how gorgeous you look every day, darling.”
“Keep saying things like that and you’re gonna make me fall in love, Echo.” “I could never be worthy of you, beautiful.”
And some, like Jesse, are just too smooth. It's genuinely impressive.
“What’s cooking good looking?” “Me for you tonight, what do you say doll?” “Please, you couldn’t handle me.” “Babe, I don’t think anyone could, doesn’t mean I wouldn’t want to try.” You nearly blushed at that one.
One time you fell over and he caught you before you could hit the ground and both you minds went to the same place. “Falling for me, cyare?” “What can I say, you’ve got me all tripped up.”
Some of them even surprised you.
Like Crosshair, from the self proclaimed bad batch. Who during a mission actually gave you a run for your credits.
“How am I looking from up there, Cross?” “Oh, just stunning, love.” “Even all sweaty and gross from fighting all these clankers?” “You kidding? I think you look better than ever like this.” “Well aren’t you just such a flirt.” A shot rings next to your ear, the droid behind you falling to the ground before it could get to you. “Pot. Kettle.”
Master Windu never failed to remind you of how inappropriate it was for you to say such things in public. Master Yoda and Plo just laughed.
Secretly Master Plo was hoping one day Wolffe would work up the nerve to do anything but stutter an incomprehensible response but the clone commander was a wreck the second you open your mouth.
Seriously Wolffe cannot flirt, he has no idea what to do or say back.  It’s adorable.
Like the time you asked him “is this seat taken?” and pointed at his lap with a sly smirk on your face. He wanted to make a witty comment back but all that came out was “wha-huh-uhm-” and you just chuckled, telling him you were just joking before sitting down next to him.
Master Plo had to step out of the room to laugh for a minute.
Sometimes you were stationed to protect the Chancellor which meant spending a lot of time with the Coruscant Guard. They were relentless in their flirtations, by far the most charming clones you’d ever met. Even Commander Fox had his moments, when he wasn’t being so serious.
Hound was probably the worst of the worst. He had you laughing so hard you at times that it physically hurt.
At one point you’d been reamed out by the Chancellor and retreated into your head. Hound noticed, and with the most serious expression, took your face in between his hands and in the most serious voice he could muster said: “I will kill him for you my sweet angel, just give me the word.”
Fox’s eyes widen and he’s got a playful glare on his face, not as upset at that statement as you thought he’d be, “Hound, you can’t -”
Hound’s eyes don’t leave yours, “I’ll kill him too.”
“hOUND”
And lets not get started on when you and Obi-Wan were sent on missions together.
“Cody, darling, you wouldn’t happen to have the time would you?”
“Cody, sweetheart, you’re doing such a wonderful job at killing those clankers!”
“Cody, love, your butt looks fantastic in that armor-”
“You can’t just say that over public comms!”
“You were thinking it, I was just saying it out loud, Obi-Wan!”
And you’re all time favorite: “Cody, that armor looks great on you, you know where it would look better? On the floor of Obi-Wan’s room.” “Are you hitting on Cody for me?”
Some of the clones had even placed bets and wagers on who could get you to slip up and become flustered.
You definitely appreciated the attempts.
Some of them had definitely come close though.
Like Commander Doom, who you danced with at 79s one night and had to run into the bathroom to splash some water on your face because holy kriff where did that man learn that kind of language. It was actually kind of impressive. And no you would absolutely not be repeating it to anyone except maybe to Obi-Wan over tea the next day in the confines of his room where no one else could hear either of you gossiping.
Or Sergeant Hunter of the 99th, who met your quips line for line. You didn’t know how but you were pretty sure he knew exactly what to say to make you almost blush.
“You can’t just take out an entire battalion of clankers on your own and not expect me to fall in love with you.” “That’s the goal, Sarge. How’d you know I was just trying to impress you?” “Call it a sixth sense.” “You think the force is trying to tell us something?” “I don’t need to force to tell me how irresistible you are.” “Be still my beating heart.”
And as much as it irritated the other General’s of the GAR, the clones genuinely appreciated the sense of normalcy it gave them. Sure it was all jokes but most spent so much time fighting that the brief moments of flirtation were a distraction from the shit show going on around them.
And besides, it wasn’t your fault they were so damn good looking.

For the clone hc thing uhhhh because of the blue shadow virus, Rex's immune system had been compromised leading to him getting sick easier then other clones, but he hates to admit it when it happens so he tries to power through the sickness. It falls to torrent (mostly Kix) to bully him into resting when this happens XD
Protocol 57: Get The Captain To Rest
Summary: Rex’s immune system has never been the same since the Blue Shadow virus. Cue Torrent company holding an intervention.
Pairing: None
Tags: sick rex, caring brothers, torrent company being the best vod, rex is very loved, but also stubborn when he gets sick
Word Count: 922
A/N: This was fun to write! Mando’a translations at the end. Headcanon submitted as part of this post.

Rex gave a disgruntled sniffle as he walked down the halls of the Resolute, shivering lightly even under his full armour. In one hand he held a datapad and a stack of flimsi reports, in the other, a handful of tissues.
Ever since he contracted the Blue Shadow virus the previous year, Rex found he fell sick more often than most of his brothers, and that it hit him harder when he did. But, he was a soldier. He was the Captain of the 501st Legion and he had work to do. He wasn’t about to let a little sickness get in his way. They were at war, for Force sake!
Unfortunately, his vod’ikas had other plans.

Jesse was first to spot their ori’vod looking, well, for lack of a better word, osik. If it hadn’t been for the puffy eyes and coughing, the stumbling would have given him away. He tapped a few buttons on his wrist comm, tapping through to Five’s private comm link.
“Fives, we’ve got a protocol 57, spread the word.”
“Damn it, again?”
Fives responded almost immediately with a chuckle, and Jesse could hear shuffling on the other end, then a few beeps and Echo joined them. Before long, the rest of Torrent company was on the comm.
Fives chuckled as he and Echo made a quiet escape from the training room,
“Right, let's have a clean sweep this time, eh vod?”
Dogma laughed,
“Don’t worry, we got this. 34th times a charm, right?”
Tup elbowed him, and Fives continued.
“Echo and I are on point, we’ll run interference at the armoury and push him up to the bridge. Hardcase, you find him and get him to us.”
Jesse rolled his eyes as the rest of his brothers recited their jobs. “I’ll get word down to Kix. Good luck di’kuts.”

Rex was idly rubbing his temples as he headed for the mess hall, too engrossed in his datapad to notice Hardcase approaching him at first. Engrossed may be the wrong word, when really he was just trying to make the words stop moving.
“Captain…” Hardcase jogged to catch up with him. “Sir, are you alright?”
Rex snapped out of it, turning to face the trooper. He cleared his throat, balling his tissues in his palm.
“Hardcase, I’m fine, why do you ask?”
“You're headed for the mess and lunch finished an hour ago.” He nodded to the empty mess hall, beginning to guide him away and down the brightly lit hallway. “Are you sure you’re alright? Echo was looking for you to oversee an inventory in the armoury but I can help him if you’d like. I think Kix is still down in medical if-”
“That won’t be necessary. Thank you, Hardcase.”
The man just shrugged and clasped his hands behind his back. “I have the next training session, I’ll walk with you to the armoury, Sir.”
Rex loved all his vod, really, he did. But he did not have the energy for Hardcase right now. Still, he powered through, nodding his head.
Hardcase did. not. stop. talking. and gesturing energetically the entire time. He saluted the Captain as he stopped outside the armour, where Fives and Echo were conveniently just leaving, standing to attention.
He gave them a wink and left them in the company of their now exhausted Captain.
Rex waved his hand to put the arc troopers at ease, nodding inside the inventory and coughing.
“You needed me to do an inventory?”
Echo shook his head, “It’s alright Sir, Fives assisted me.”
“Are you alright, Captain? We can handle the bridge report this evening, why don’t you turn in early? You must be exhausted-” Fives tried, maybe they’d get lucky.
“I’m quite alright, boys.” Rex said suspiciously. “Why do you all keep asking if I’m alr-”
Rex cut himself off with a rather large sneeze, followed by a coughing fit. Fives grinned, giving Echo a look behind his ori’vod’s back.
“I think Tup was looking for your Sir, you might want to catch him on your way to the bridge, it seemed important.”
Rex suppressed his complaints and rubbed his temple, nodding. “Thanks vod.”
He set off again, and Echo was straight on his comm.
“Dogma, he’s all yours.”
----
On his way to find Tup on the bridge, Rex caught Dogma sprinting at the other side of the hallways, a stack of flimsi in his hand. Rex wasn’t in the mood for this, groaning and rubbing his temples.
“Dogma, what did I say about run-”
“Sorry Sir, I wa- wooooah-”
Dogma skidded to a halt in an attempt to salute his Captain and ‘tripped’, landing on the cold durasteel floor and clutching his ankle.
Rex kneeled beside him, shaking his head with a sigh. “Dank farrik, not again. Come on, let’s get you to Kix.”
Dogma let Rex help him up and limped all the way to the medical bay where Jesse was standing with Kix, grinning.
Kix just rolled his eyes and shooed Dogma away, who promptly stood on his perfectly uninjured feet and joined Jesse at the door.
“What the-”
Kix pointed to the nearest cot. “On the cot, Sir, you look like bantha shit.”
Rex opened his mouth to protest, and was hit with a fit of coughing. Scowling, he resigned himself to his fate and climbed up onto the cot. He shot a look at Jesse and Dogma, standing smugly in the doorway wearing matching smirks.
“Di’kuts.”
Jesse and Dogma just grinned as Hardcase, Fives, Echo and Tup’s heads appeared one by one, sticking around the doorframe.
“We love you too, ori’vod.”
