rant incoming and i know im shouting into the void but holy shit doomscrolling tiktok does that to a ho
the fact that 'warcore' is still a prevailing aesthetic makes me super fukn infuriated. current conflicts aside, it like reeks of military brown-nosing, or at the very least a willing blindness to the whole, yknow, war thing. Ive seen someone explain it as a "counter-culture aesthetic" to which like.. COUNTER TO WHO?? TF does this movement represent to be considered counter culture?
Half the influencers ive seen pushing these looks dont look like theyve even been within earshot of a gun but are completely down for doing some quirky RP posts looking like theyre in level 3 plates. I dont get how some ppl justify putting this style in the same category as cyberpunk/techwear or darkwear outside of the superficial theme of 'black & tactical'.
By all means if some1's cosplaying a character who is military, go off. I'm all for incorporating a military element in an outfit as well, camo-print has its place, combat boots look sick af, but the moment a soy mfer slips into a ski mask and faux-kevlar for a night out it crosses a pretty clear line into major gross glorification (intentional or not)
I know a bitch like me who looks like they were dressed in a chemical spill shouldnt shade, but war isnt an 'aesthetic'. leave ur military hard-on in the xbox lobbies
[yes half of this is because of quirky Israel thirst-trap propaganda girl but gfd its an excuse to rant about it]
