Baked Pears!
Tumblr media
Another recipe that no one asked for, but y'all are going to go on journey with me because these slapped. And they're low-spoon friendly. Win-win.
What you'll need:
2 pears, medium to large sized (ripe yet firm. I used D'Anjou pears)
1/2 cup brown sugar (not packed)
1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (I had pecans so that's what I used. I kept mine chunk but follow your heart)
1/4 cup old fashioned oats
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons butter, room temperature
So basically we are going to make a crumble and then stuff it in the pears. Also, remember to preheat your oven to 375. It doesn't take long to get your pears situated.
To make the crumble, mix all the things (except for the pears) in a bowl with your hands. It seems counterintuitive, but you get a better consistency. Plus, you get to squish the mixture.
Then, after halving the pears, use a spoon and scoop out the seeds and some of the fruit itself. You can snack on the extra bit of fruit as a lil treat.
Then just stuff the crumble in the pears and set them in an oven-safe dish, cut side up. Following this, put like 5-6 tablespoons of water in the pan to steam your pears.
Then, let those lads hang out in the oven for like 35-45 minutes. Your pears should be soft when they're done.
You can top it however you'd like, but I just had mine plain. It might be a worthy endeavor to have vanilla ice cream with it, but you really don't need to. They're great on their own. You can also jazz up the spices if you'd like as well! Experiment!
