Thoughts on Ivan and Till

DISCLAIMER: I have not rewatched all Alien Stage rounds (and other vids) , so definitely some inaccuracies going on in here lmao

We've seen how Ivan demands attention from Till, majority of the time, it's through violence. And I have thoughts on why that is.

For one, they're children raised in captivity by aliens, they're raised as pets. From what I remember, Mizi was the only one who experienced kindness in a way that she's determined to spread it herself. The other children weren't. Not an excuse to become violent, but very much a reason why it could happen.

Now, this means violence and abuse, and rewards for good behavior (as seen from how "well" Ivan is treated when he started being obedient and being a good idol) are all these kids have ever known.

It's why Till is so obsessed with Mizi, why he has so much love for her, it's why his world centers around her. It's because she's the only one who bothers to be kind. And that? To a child that has never experienced kindness just for the sake of being kind? Means the whole world.

Back to Ivan and Till, their relationship is... toxic, and while they have peaceful and calm interactions, they have a tendency to beat the shit out of each other when they were kids.

I doubt Till enjoys when they fight, not the way Ivan does. Ivan does this because out of everything he's tried, violence was the only way Till has ever looked at him, even for a moment.

Him, a child who adores Till for his rebellious nature. For the way he shines so brightly in his anger at the world, at the aliens who has treated them as nothing but pets. Who only ever wanted to have that light shine down on him. Finding out that beating the shit out of him or instigate Till into beating the shit out of him was the only way to have that happen? Well, for a kid who's never been taught kindness and love and has been raised by scummy aliens, it's no surprise that he's gonna resort to that method.

Though, I doubt this way of thinking continued as he grew up. As a child, perhaps he thinks hurting Till was the best way to have his attention. But he's definitely seen how Mizi acts, Ivan is terrifyingly smart and manipulative (as seen by how he staged the alien dog attack), he would've found out a better way to be friends with Till.

But he didn't. Because of what he sees with Mizi and Sua. He doesn't want to change how he acts with Till because it's better that way. Man's believes his feelings are shallow, jesus fucking christ.

He's probably thought of this before, of how they're going to face each other, going onto that stage, and only one of them is leaving it still breathing. And if he had to choose between himself and Till? That's an easy choice.

So, he'll be cruel, he'll only be gentle when Till is not aware. All for the sake of his death not affecting Till the same way Sua's death affected Mizi. He just doesn't realize that no matter how he acts, the fact that he would deliberately sacrifice himself like that would destroy Till no matter what. Especially when he already lost Mizi.

I also don't think Ivan planned the kiss. I think he was planning to do a Sua and die that way or maybe even bring it to a tie but well, Till stopped singing. Good thing he knows that attacking the other contestant will have him gunned down. The kiss was probably done in a panic, a last minute thought. He didn't even look like he enjoyed it.

And that kiss, nah, naaaaah. That's going to fuck Till up in more ways than one. Being kissed and then said person kissing you dying right in front of you? Opening your eyes to see them smile as they fall making you realize that they sacrificed their life for you. I wouldn't even make it past that stage, man, I would join Ivan in the afterlife.

My thoughts are everywhere jsisnskdk, point is, Ivan purposefully created this distance between him and Till, even if all he has ever wanted was to do the opposite. But he didn't, because he knows any closeness he will have with Till is not the one he wants. Because Till will always love Mizi no matter how gentle or kind he will be with Till. He wants Till to look at him the way Till looks at Mizi. He's selfish that way.

So he'll make use of that distance to make sure Till won't be devastated with his death, not the way Mizi was with Sua's.

I think the thing I love most about writing for Bakugou is capturing the moments where his hard outer shell begins to soften, even if he doesn’t really understand it or tries to fight it. Because despite what everyone else thinks, he learned [from his mother, yes he was in an abusive household too and idk how that’s debatable] from a very young age to be angry and aggressive and that’s a hard thing to break from. Still his responsibility to break of course, but difficult nonetheless. But when he’s surrounded by friends who not only encourage him to be vulnerable but hold him accountable for being hostile, he FLOURISHES.

When you can see the battle written on his face, trying so desperately to fight that initial response of vicious anger and choosing to take a deep breath instead and express himself because he deserves it! He deserves to be vulnerable. To speak, to cry, to laugh and be fucking heard.

And don’t even get me started on how he thrives in romantic relationships after he’s started to heal. When he’s realized he doesn’t have to be angry, he doesn’t have to rely on sharp words to protect himself from others before they even get a chance. When he understands how beautiful his partner looks when he makes them laugh or smile. And it quickly becomes his favorite thing to do. Days spent lazing around with soft, gentle affections because my god he never knew it could be this good. Never knew love could be something light, airy instead of raging and violent.

Because don’t get me wrong, Bakugou can and will fight for his partner. He’ll defend them in every way needed, but he won’t feel the need to defend himself against his partner. Won’t hurt them before they can hurt him because he’s healed from his trauma, understands how devastated he’d be to see his partner’s face fall if he ever directed his rage towards them.

Bakugou deserves to heal, and he deserves to be happy and soft and gentle with his partner. Because I refuse to fall into the narrative that as an adult, he’s still the hurt, angry teenager he used to be. It’s fiction. There’s no reason we have to choose that option. So yeah, the soft, happy Bakugou is the narrative I crave the most. And there’s nothing wrong with that if that’s what you crave too.💖

I'm breaking my own heart here. Imagine the sudden feeling of panic the brothers would feel after seeing Belphegor trying to kill the MC. None of them understanding why though.

Leviathan almost trembling with how he is trying to keep his temper under control, his tail thrashing behind him. All he wants is to whack the youngest away so you were safe.

Asmodeus stuck to where he's standing by the panic. His hands wanting to grab at you and pull you out the Colleseum, away from the danger.

Lucifer getting struck the hardest with how he is internally panicking. He has the power to save you, but he doesn't really know you. After all, you had lied to them and seemed to have an unexplainable power. However, he still fights against the need to protect you from Belphegor and create a new space for his youngest.

None of them know why these feelings have come through. And they had no time to act since Solomon had swooped in to save you.

I can’t even with how when the monkees are at the beach they’re just all like asleep under an umbrella or something while Davy sits there playing in the sand like a three year old. Like what is he doing? Little boy things, picking sand up and putting it down. He’s having a good time, but like, did a director tell real Davy to do that? Show-Davy just likes to play in the sand like a little one.

I’m sure peter comes over and plays with him sometimes, maybe micky goes and runs around. Or he bothers Mike, who’s sitting there watching them all with his sunglasses on because he is the dad™️, and sitting under the umbrella because if he steps out of the shade, he burns like a bitch cause he’s so pale.

If the “kids” aren’t all occupied, Mike sometimes has one in his lap because it’s sunny and beach naps are nice and Mike is always good at giving cuddles. He’s got long arms, he could hug all three.

A while ago, I saw this TikTok about how death tastes like peanut butter, and someone made a joke about licking the grim reaper.

Today, I thought about the phrase "sweet release of death". We all know what it's supposed to mean, but, technically, you could find a different meaning.

All I'm saying is that the evidence points to someone getting on their knees for the reaper and that our man is sugar coating stuff.
