prompt list #2
#8 w Dylan Holloway please!!
AN OLD MARRIED COUPLE
i made up characters just cause it's easier :)
8. "shielding the other one with their body" (from this prompt list)
you and dylan were like the old-married couple of your friend group. you would go to bed early or be dd when parties were going on or you would always be the house everyone went to for food or advice and things like that. you didn't mind, you actually found it cute.
this night was no different. you and dylan were in your dorm for your annual movie night. your roommate had an agreement. one friday, you and dylan would stay in the dorm while she went over to stay with her boyfriend, and the next friday you would switch.
"...and now i think my science partner hates me." you told dylan as you cooked up the pasta.
"i don't think that's possible." dylan told you as he ate goldfish and sitting in a chair, "i don't know anyone who could possibly hate you."
"you're obligated to say that. you're my boyfriend." you deadpanned.
he rolled his eyes, "yes, i am your boyfriend, but i'm not obligated to say any of this."
you sighed, going back to your pasta, "what's his name?"
"who's name?"
"your partner?" you crossed your arms.
"i'm not telling you his name."
"why not?" dylan asked.
"because you're gonna find him and you're gonna go all "macho" hockey player on him. he doesn't like me, sure, but that doesn't mean you can go around beating people up just because they don't like me." you explained.
"why not?" he shrugged.
"dylan holloway!" you threw a spoon at him, but not hard enough to hurt him.
"hey, violence!" he shouted.
"you can't just go around punching people." he opened his mouth to say something, but you gave him a stern look.
"fine." he nodded, going back to his goldfish.
after dinner, you and dylan were cuddled up in your small bed, watching the movie playing on your computer, when suddenly the door was thrown open, and in came dylan's best friend, drew.
"what are you doing here?" dylan asked.
"i've been looking everywhere for you." drew ran a hand through his hair, sitting down in your desk chair, "so, i met up with this girl-" you and dylan kind of spaced out halfway through drew talking.
"are you two even listening?" drew asked.
"huh?"
"what?" you both asked at the same time.
"you're not even listening." he stood up, and grabbed a pillow, tossing it at you.
dylan shielding you with his body, protecting you from the hit, "i was trying to get your advice on this girl i really like, and you two aren't even paying attention." he tossed another pillow at you.
"we're sorry." you giggled.
"it's movie night, drew. talk to us tomorrow. we'll be all ears when we're not harmonizing to pitch perfect." dylan smiled.
"fine. i expect breakfast tomorrow," he told you.
"you got a deal." you nodded.

another bc I’m in my feels like constantly! #81 with our resident berta boy mr Holloway 😍
81 ➝ “i’ll be with you for as long as you need.”
from @edmundspevensea ways to say I love you list.
warnings: stress over school.
Dylan wasn't one to say I love you often. He just preferred to show it. Buying you flowers or surprising you with your favorite drink from the coffee shop you guys visited often.
So now both of you laid in your bed after practice talking about whatever came to mind. dylan running his fingers up and down your arm, causing goosebumps to rise as his warm skin came in contact with your cool one.
You had sort of a hard day. School was kicking your butt and honestly all you wanted to do was ignore the list of homework that had accumulated. It wasn't that you were putting it off, it was just that everytime you got through some of it and finally made a dent in it it seemed as though your teachers gave you more.
So now you talked to dylan about how you were so over it and all you wanted to do was give up on all of it, with school and the stress of it.
"Baby you're literally the smartest person I know. You got this, how about this. How about I help you with it." He said as he looked over at you with a small smile on his face.
"Really, I don't want you to feel like I'm forcing you especially after you had practice." You said looking over at him.
"Of course." He said. Both of you grabbing the books and working on making a dent on all of the homework.
~~~
It had been a few hours now, the time reaching midnight. "Dylan you know you can head home right, I can just continue this by myself." You told him appreciating the help but knowing he was proabbly tired.
“i’ll be with you for as long as you need, ok." He said as both of you continued to work throughout the night. See Dylan wasn't one to say I love you but as he helped you with your homework into the early hours of the night you know that he indeed did.
hi! here I am asking for a request. can you maybe write a little something for dholls. like cuddling after a bad game or something. please, thank you, love you. - brandtsclarke
pretty sure you meant dylan holloway so if not pls lmk so i can do something else for you! ily! @brandtsclarke
you sat on your couch, anxiously waiting on dylan to get home from his last game of the season. it was easy to tell he’d be upset when he got home. halfway through the second period dylan got in a pretty nasty fight, resulting in him not coming back for the remainder of the game.
after a while of waiting you decided to busy yourself with cleaning up some around your apartment. half an hour after you began you heard keys  jingling and dylans footsteps coming your way. before you can turn around he’s pressed against your back, nuzzling his head in your neck.
“hey love, you alright?”
he shakes his head, “ will you come cuddle please, i just wanna hold you right now.” your chest tightened at his words, “ yeah, lets go to the bed.” you mutter grabbing his hand and leading him to your shared room.
“go change and we can lay down alright?” you ask. nodding he walks into the bathroom with a change of clothes before coming back out and laying right beside you. pulling his head onto your chest, you run your fingers through his hair. “ i love you dyl, so much”
subliminally trying – a. turcotte feat. d. holloway
song pairing: motive by ariana grande ft. doja cat
author’s note: i may write a part two to this if wanted!
you knew better than to be in the position you were currently in, but the adrenaline of it all made it addicting. there weren’t many ways to get under his skin easily and yet you had figured it out quickly. like a breakaway you couldn’t help but draw the attention of his teammate to execute your plan. dylan’s eyes had been on you since he walked over with you; the urge to rest his hand on your hip overwhelming.
the party wasn’t anything big but with it being in one of the frats it easily attracted attention. so here you were, drink in hand, swaying to some r&b song from your early childhood as the blonde had his arms around your waist. surprisingly not many of the boys were here but you did manage to see cole and ryder on the way in. or so you thought.
turning to face dylan, you noticed his eyes glancing behind you. “see someone you want?” he hesitated to look down before signaling in disagreement, however, he did pull you closer. quirking an eyebrow at the boy, he leaned down to say “no, but someone is definitely here wanting you.” while that would have worried others you simply laughed in response.
of course his roommate, and your casual hookup for the past semester, would show up. where his teammates went he wasn’t often far behind. grinning up at the blonde boy, you replied “well, let’s have some fun, yeah?” it wasn’t as if you were in a relationship and whatever code the boys had between each other was ultimately their own business.
“kiss me” he challenged.
“you sure, holloway? not gonna make practice worse for you?” you joked.
before he could respond you pulled him down and splayed your hand across his cheek. being close to the wall helped the illusion even more, yet it was all short lived. suddenly you were being pulled back by the familiar dark, curly headed boy that you had wrapped around your finger. whether or not he would admit it wasn’t necessarily your problem.
“what the fuck are you doing?”
“oh hey, turcs” you grinned.
walking past him toward the kitchen you winked at cole on the way. the happiest member of their group was failing to hide his laughter as he turned toward the girl fighting for his attention. you could feel alex watching your every move as his body nearly towered over your own. as you turned to grab another beer from the counter he suddenly pushed you against it.
“is this a game to you? dancing on my best friend, kissing him?” he blurted.
looking over his face, you smirked. he had a slight flush to his cheeks and his eyes were dilated. you watched his eyes drift down to your chest and then up to your lips that’s were covered in that lip gloss. something about the clear shimmer making his mind spiral to all those nights he kicked out dylan from their room and your mouth on him.
wrapping your arms around his neck, you leaned forward to lay a kiss below his ear. “you like it, we all know.” the tone of your voice sultry yet serious as he stiffened below your touch. his hands moved down to your ass and roughly squeezed before resting cockily. “maybe i do, maybe i don’t. why don’t you come back to mine?”
pressing into his body, you could feel every muscle and divot. the thrill of knowing what would happen into the early morning making everything worth it. “let me thank dylan first, yeah?” you chided. those brown eyes you loved so much stared back with so much energy you knew you were in for it.
Snow Day - Dylan Holloway
This is the first writing I’m posting on here so please send feedback! I had a snow day yesterday and that’s what inspired this so I projected my self kind of heavily on the character. Also, covid isn’t a thing in this.
Warnings: tiny bit of language
///
“Dyl, Dyl, wake up,” you say, shaking your boyfriend’s shoulder.
“What do you want?” he asks groggily. “Aren’t you supposed to be going to swim?”
“I can’t there’s too much snow,” you explain. “I can’t get the car out of the driveway, and the roads aren’t plowed yet. I do not want to drive in 2 feet of snow.”
“Well go back to sleep then, it’s 6 AM,” he tells you.
“Exactly, it’s 6 AM. I could’ve woken you up at 5 when I decided not to go to the pool, but I didn’t. I gave you an extra hour of sleep. Now get up so we can go shovel!”
“Why would you ever want to shovel?” he asks.
“Cuz it’s fun,” you say. “Besides we’ve barely gotten any snow at Wisco this year, so I want to take advantage of being in Canada.”
He just stares at you.
“Stop judging me,” you say after a second. “I don’t know what people have against shoveling. I genuinely think it’s fun. Now come on, I’ll make you food before we go outside.”
At that, he’s out of bed in an instant, grabbing a hoodie from his closet and pulling it over his head.
“What are you making? Can I help?” he asks as he follows you down the stairs.
“Waffles, and no. You remember what happened last time you tried to help,” comes your reply.
He gives you puppy dog eyes.
“Fine,” you sigh. “Go get the waffle mix and cocoa powder,” you add, pushing him toward the pantry while you pull out the other ingredients.
Shockingly, the two of you are able to make the waffles quickly and without any mishaps. As soon as they are made, you eat yours quickly and start cleaning the dishes as you wait for Dylan. When he’s finally done you put his stuff in the dishwasher and head toward the door. You put on your winter coat, because even you aren’t that stupid to go outside in just a hoodie when the temperature is below zero (Fahrenheit).
“Hey Dyl, do you happen to have an extra pair of boots?” you ask.
“Um, I don’t know, I can see if I can find my mom’s extra pair,” he offers.
“No, they definitely won’t fit me. If you don’t have an extra pair it’s fine, I guess I’ll just wear my Adidas,” you respond.
“Ohhh haha I thought you meant like an extra pair of women’s,” he says. “Yeah I do have an extra pair of my own. Hold on, let me go get them.” He returns and hands them to you, and when you pull them on they fit surprisingly well due to the thick fuzzy socks you’re wearing.
Finally, you guys are ready and you pull Dylan out into the snow with you and go grab shovels. You guys start to clear the driveway and by the time you are halfway done Dylan has stopped complaining, realizing that it’s really not that bad. You guys are almost done when you get an idea. When Dylan’s not looking, you reach down and grab a handful of snow, packing it into a firm ball. Then right as Dylan turns you throw it at him as hard as you can.
He looks you dead in the eye and says, “Oh, it’s on, Y/L/N,” and you take that as your cue to sprint away. You run into the backyard and quickly establish your position up on the deck, where you start making a pile of snowballs. Dylan comes into the back carrying his own pile of snowballs and looking for you, and you take his moment of confusion as an opportunity to pop up from behind the deck railing, which you had been hiding behind, and pelt him with snowballs.
“That’s six for me and none for you,” you inform him.
“You’re keeping score?” he asks.
“Of course,” is your reply. “It’s a snowball fight. First person to hit the other 50 times wins.”
“Ok, bet,” he says, thinking it will be an easy win for him.
“Bet,” you reply, hitting him once more. “And that makes it 7-0.”
You guys continue your fight, and after a few minutes Dylan realizes the only way he’s gonna hit you is if he joins you on the deck. He comes up and the two of you exchange snowballs before you escape down the stairs and out of his throwing range. He follows behind you, and then it’s just the two of you in the open air, a battle to see who can make and throw their snowballs faster. Dylan manages to pull ahead, but you don’t get to concerned. As soon as he takes a moment to catch his breath, you make a break towards the deck.
You establish your position up on the deck once again, and you pelt Dylan with snowballs as he tries to approach you, taking the lead back 49-47. Dylan realizes you only need one more to win, so he ducks down and hides, or so you think. What you don’t realize until it’s too late is that he is actually sneaking up the steps. You have no way to escape and no snowballs to throw, so you do the only thing you can think of. You jump off the side of the deck. It’s pretty high up, but you’re not gonna let Dylan hit you, not when you’re this close to victory. You land hard on your ankle, and when Dylan looks over the side of the deck you aren’t getting up.
“Babe, are you OK?” he asks. When you don’t respond immediately he adds, “Don’t stand up, I’m coming down.” As you hear him heading down the deck stairs you grab a handful of snow and form a snowball, and as soon as he rounds the corner and walks toward you you throw it at him, hitting him square in the chest and winning the fight.
“Wait you cheated? You faked an injury?” he pouts.
“First of all, no I didn’t cheat, you chose to come down here. And second, I actually did twist my ankle pretty bad. I just chose to use it to my advantage,” you reply.
“Oh shit, are you OK? Do you need me to get ice or something? Carry you inside?” he asks.
“No, I’m fine. I’ve injured myself way worse before. Help me up though?” you ask, holding your hands up to him. He pulls you up and you go inside together, putting away the shovels on the way like the responsible people you are.
When you get inside, Dylan’s mom is waiting for you with two mugs of hot chocolate. “Thanks Mrs. Holloway,” you say as you accept a mug from her.
“No, thank you,” she says. “I can never convince Dyl to shovel.”
“Well if you need me you know where to find me,” you respond laughing. You and Dylan finish your hot chocolate and then go to change into dry clothes.
Later that night, you and Dylan are laying on the couch with your head on his chest. “That wasn’t very nice of you to trick me earlier y’know,” Dylan says out of nowhere.
“Come on baby, it was a joke. Besides, I actually was injured,” you respond.
“Exactly, that was the worst part of it,” he explains. “I never want to see you hurt.”
“Aww thanks bub,” you say. “I hope you know I feel the same way.”
The two of you lapse back into silence and eventually Dylan puts a basketball game on the TV. When his mom walks in half an hour later, she finds the two of you in the same position, you asleep on his chest as he watches basketball and runs his fingers through your hair.
“Hey Dyl,” she starts. “I’m really happy you brought Y/N home for Christmas. She’s good for you. Try to keep her around OK?”
“That’s the plan Mom,” he replies. “I love her too much to fuck it up and lose her.”
*Caleb’s POV*
I stood outside the collapsing oil rig along with my colleagues that survived this far. We were all stressed about the rescue boats coming to save us from the middle of the ocean. Mainly because we were all worried there wouldn’t be enough boats for all of us. As people were freaking out, screaming that we should help those still trapped deep inside the rig. “They need our help, they are our friends!” Steven yelled. “They’re dead! There’s no point!” Kyle yelled back. I was tired of all the fighting so I spoke up. “Stop! We all need to focus on ourselves for once in our damn lives! We have families to get to! I have a beautiful wife and daughter at home, and I know you guys would give nothing more than to see your family right now! So we need to stop turning on each other!” After my little speech, some of my friends clapped and I took a big breath, trying to call my nerves a little. “He’s right!” Mike said, referring to what I had just said, “Our families are worried sick right now! So we need to stick together and get back to them!” All of our colleagues cheered and hugged each other, finally appreciating their life for a minute. After about five minutes or so, the rescue boats arrived and we all squeezed into them. As the boats drove away from the burning building which was our Deepwater Horizon, we all sighed of relief.
*a few hours later*
We were all sent to the closest hospitals near by and I can only assumed they contacted our families letting them know we survived. When I was finally left in my hospital room after the nurses had patched me up, I used the little land line phone on the bedside table to call my wife, Y/N. I was happy to hear her voice but it broke my heart to hear it too. I immediately knew she was crying, my heart wrenched. Her throat was raw, it was unbearable. I told her what hospital they were housing me in and she immediately got in her car to come see me, which was a three hour drive. I asked her what she was going to do with Madelaine, our daughter, and she just said she’d text her work friend to go to our house and watch her. I eventually told her to hang up because I didn’t want her to be distracted while driving so, reluctantly, she hung up. I ended up falling asleep shortly after our call, obviously being exhausted.
*Your POV*
I jumped out of my car, quickly slammed the door and ran through the hospital doors, running straight for the front desk. “Can I help you?” The attendant asked. “Yes! Yes, can I get the room number for Caleb Holloway? He just came in from Deepwater Horizon.” “Ah yes, room 371.” “Ah! Thankyou! Thankyou.” I said spastically and ran to the elevators. I got to his floor and ran until I found his door, taking some much needed breaths before walking inside, it immediately being dark, only a lamp illuminating the room. I walked further in and saw Caleb sleeping in what I could only assume was an uncomfortable hospital bed. I gasped, tears forming in my eyes seeing all the abrasions, stitches, and bandages all over him. He was hooked up to numerous wires, it made me sick to my stomach to see him like this. I went to wake him, feeling a little bad for doing so, since it was almost four a.m. I brought my hand to shake his shoulder gently, “Caleb,” I said, his eyes starting to flutter open. When he saw me I could tell he was beyond relieved and happy, behind his extreme tiredness. “Y/N.” He said and a tear fell down my cheek as I smiled, his arms weakly reaching out for me. I leaned over him and he wrapped his arms around me as tightly as he could. He sighed, “God, I’m so happy to see you.” I smiled, kissing his cheek, more happy tears trailing down my face. “I know.” I smiled. “Are you okay?” I asked, “Are you in any pain?” He shook his head, “They gave me a shit load of pain meds, I think I’m alright for now.” He chuckled slightly. He brought his hand to mine grabbing it, “I’m so fucking sorry.” He said, I was about to ask about what but he interrupted me, “For scaring you like this, I can’t imagine what it was like thinking I was dead.” He whispered. I smiled, giving him a gentle kiss so I didn’t hurt him. “It’s okay, I’m just happy to see you.” I said. “Here,” he said, scooting over in the hospital bed, “it’s late, let’s get some sleep.” I sighed, “Caleb, I don’t want to hurt you.” “You won’t, now please just lay with me.” I laughed, climbing into the bed with him, resting my head on his chest cautiously so I didn’t hurt him, and his arm wrapped around me. “I love you so much.” He said. “I love you more.”
Dylan O'brien
Today i found out one of my friends (she's not part of my close friend group but she's still my friend) is as obsessed with Dylan O'Brien as i am, but she was like: "he's mine" and it felt so weird because, i love dylan with all of my heart and he's the one person i would love to meet (apart from J.K.Rowling) but i'm not like that. I don't say things like, he's mine or he's my husband or something. I just don't get how people can be so manipulative, i mean, Dylan has a life that we're not part of and i don't mind at all, and all my friends know i love him, but he's not mine. Period.
Today was your third year anniversary with Dylan. Honestly after a few years today your anniversary date was just spent at home doing whatever your heart desired together. Well today it seemed as though your boyfriend's heart desired to be with his friends.
“Babe I'm gonna hang out with the boys, I'll see you later ok.” he said as he placed a soft kiss on your lips.
“Oh ok, but you’ll be home before six right?” you asked.
“I was planning on coming back around ten, just depending on what we do, why do we have plans?” He asked, raising his eyebrow questionly. You shook your head no and let him walk out. You didn’t want to be one of those significant others that made a big deal out of it. You knew he was forgetful. I mean last week he had forgotten where he had left his phone the night before. You were used to this. At least you thought you were. Looking back at your time together Dylan had never forgotten any special dates. He had remembered all your firsts together down to a t.
Your first date.
First dates. Stereotypical to be an awkward time between two people to decide if they like like eachother or not. Well for you and Dylan that was not the case. Most sixteen year olds would go out to the movies or go down to the carnival in town (if there was one). But not you and him. Having grown up as acquaintances you were used to having him around. Honestly kind of surprised when he had asked you out but I mean hanging with Dylan was always a good time. It was a simple gesture and quite frankly you weren't sure how to say no. You had just gotten off of school and since both of you lived so close to each other he just decided to walk with you instead of asking one of his friends for a ride.
“Hey Y/N wait up.” you turned around to be faced with the smiley blonde haired boy that you had grown accustomed to.
“Hey Holloway, whats up.” you spoke up as you kept your eyes trained on the ground.
"You busy tonight?” he said as he nervously grabbed the straps of his backpack waiting for a response.
“Well considering I have homework but i'm pretending I don't then no i do not, why up for a late night adventure?” You looked up at him with a smirk. When you guys were younger you would sneak out of your rooms and go on adventures around the neighborhood until your parents would call you up and ask where you were.
“Actually kind of, I was wondering if maybe you wanted to come over later?” he shot you a small smile hoping that you would get the hint of him asking you out.
You thought about his words as they registered in his mind. If this was a dinner with his parents then your family members would have known as well. But he was asking you specifically which meant only one thing. “Oh uhm like a date, I mean yeah uhm sure.” you smiled back at him. I mean how bad could it be. Being in a small space with one of the cutest and nicest dudes you knew, yeah not a big deal at all.
Later that night as you went over to his house you did not suspect what was about to go down. This wasn't a basic date and I think that is why you remember it so well other than the fact that it was with Dylan. You guys spent the whole night cuddled on the couch watching hockey game reruns and just talking about life, and not one single moment did he make you feel uncomfortable.
Your first kiss.
Kisses are supposed to be magical. First kisses are usually awkward and yours was both. It was late one night and both of you sat on your porch after a date just looking at the stars and enjoying each other's company before you had to get back inside. Maybe it was a in the moment thing or the fact that you really really enjoyed your time together but next thing you know both of you were leaning into each other. Which of course for it being your first kiss something has to go bad. Somehow both of you made a wrong move or something and next thing you know Dylan’s bottom lip was bleeding.
“Oh my god Dylan I am so sorry.” You spoke up as you tried looking for a napkin or something.
“Honestly if my lip had to bleed everytime i kiss you I can handle it.” he looked up at you softly.
“Oh my gosh you are literally bleeding and you're using this time to make moves on me.” You laughed.
“Hey, it's working right?” he laughed as you hit him on the shoulder and waved him goodbye as he walked back home.
First I love you.
I love you. Honestly seems like everyone makes those words a really big deal. Some people saying don’t say it back if you don’t feel the same way, others saying try to refrain from it as long as possible. For you and Dylan it had been about ten months into the relationship. Him being away at one of his many hockey games. He was anxious. Honestly the most anxious you had ever seen him like this. Some scouts were going to be there and he had to make a good impression which of course you weren't worried about but he was. He had called you saying that your voice calmed him.
“What do you want to talk about?” you questioned.
“Literally anything other than this game.” He let out a breath he had been holding.
“Well I had a burger today from that place you like.” You randomly blurted out.
“Wait are you serious, how rude of you not to wait for me.”
“Don't come between me and my food.” Both of you continued on talking about each other's day until his coach came into the locker room.
“Ok Y/N I have to go wish me luck.” He sighed.
“Good luck Dyl you got this, I love you.” And before you could stop yourself from saying it those three words that seemed so powerful slipped out of your mouth first. I mean you didn't expect to say it first. Or even say it so soon. You knew it was true and had felt this way for a while but you didn't think you'd fall for him so soon.
“What what, dId you, can you repeat that.” Dylan spoke up as a huge smile grew on his face. Honestly he was planning on telling you tonight but it seemed as though you beat him.
“Ah fuck it, I love you Dylan Holloway now go kick some hockey player butt.” You smiled on the other side of the phone call.
“Holloway, get a move on.” His coach yelled.
“Ok babe I have to go, I love you.” After that night he brought back a win and both of you laid in bed together exchanging the three words back and forth with huge smiles on your faces.
First Anniversary.
Honestly if people had told you that one day you would be going out with the boy a few doors down you would’ve told them that they were crazy. But one year later you were still going strong. And doing the same thing you did for your first date except this time with chocolate. Lots of chocolate. It was sweet. Dylan having had practice earlier in the day and texting you many times throughout the day on how he thought it was crazy how someone like you could date someone like him. He came home tired and all you did was lay in each other's arms as you played with his hair and both of you slowly drifted off to sleep.
First time.
First times. Scary could be one word for them. Opening up to someone on a vulnerable and exposed level can be one way to see it. Another way to see it is giving yourself entirely to the person you love.
Draft day. A special day in many hockey players' lives. The day that will basically decide their future for them. It’s like the game life. Picking a career and a salary except for them is someone else doing it for them. So here Dylan was waiting and waiting as they called names and teams.
You were a few doors down following the live draft deciding that it was better if he got this special moment with his family and you guys could spend time together later.
As your boyfriend's name appeared on your screen you jumped up and down your room. Dylan having exchanged hugs and done the whole post draft interviews he came over. As he walked into your room you jumped into his arms.
“Dylan, I'm so proud of you.” you whispered in his ear.
“I love you.” He replied as he softly but needingly kissed you. As one thing led to another both of you were on top of each other exchanging messy kisses with the door closed. Hands all over each other as articles of clothing were scattered across the floor.
Waking up from the events of the past night brought a smile to your face as you laid in your boyfriend's arms with your legs intertwined.
~~~~
Dylan had come back home as soon as realization hit him. How could he have forgotten. You were sitting on the couch watching some random reality show that was playing.
“Hey Dyl, why are you back so soon?”  you asked on why he was six hours earlier than he had said.
“Y/N baby fuck i messed up. Shit im so sorry.” he came over and placed a kiss on your lips.
“Dyl baby it’s ok, I can think of a few ways you can make it up to me.” you smiled.
“Wait so I forget our three year anniversary and you're completely fine with it?” He asked.
“Remind me what we did for our first year anniversary.” You looked up your boyfriend.
“We sat in my room and watched hockey games.” He looked at you trying to see what you were getting at.
“And how long did that take?”
“I don’t know like three hours?” He questioned.
“So what's stopping us from doing it now, come here.” you said as you wrapped your hands around his taller figure. Both of you laid together for the rest of the day all your cares washing away.

Chapter 8 -- Epilogue
Tumblr media
“Sir, I can’t let you on this plane."
"I–I know look,” he grabbed his wallet from his back pocket, pulling out his credit card, “I don’t care how much t–the ticket costs. Just charge it. I have got to get on that p–plane.” He had caught enough of a breath finally looking to the young girl with hopeful eyes but was met with sadness.
“Sir, It’s not because you don’t have a ticket… It’s because the plane has already taken off.” Dylan watched as she gestured to the window in the lobby, he followed her finger to a plane that just got off the ground. He watched as the plane tucked in its wheels, carrying his girl two thousand miles away. He was broken now, shattered actually, robbed of the glue and tape necessary to put his soul back together. It was difficult to remember her smile, soft but contagious, as his heart became cold. He watched the plane disappear, and it felt like concrete drying in his chest.
Dylan felt numb watching the spec that used to be a giant airplane vanish from the sky. His stomach was churning like a summer storm, prepared to crash over his whole body. The sympathetic look the flight attendant was giving him just made it worse. He felt like he could drown in the stares from the people scattered around the gate, some of them having their phones out to video him. He didn’t care anymore. The paparazzi, his image, the cameras, the interviews, the movie. All he cared about was the gorgeous y/h/c haired girl on that plane.
His hands were shaking as his mind ran in circles, all his thoughts consumed with her. Her smile, her laugh, the way her forehead crinkled slightly when she was angry. He knew he loved her, but he didn’t know he couldn’t live without her until he watched the plane disappear in the sky carrying his heart away too. He still couldn’t force himself to move, only stand at the window overlooking the tarmac.
“Do you love her?” Dylan jumped slightly as an older couple came to stand beside him, a sleeping toddler in the woman’s arms. He didn’t know how the older man knew, maybe he saw the whole spectacle, or maybe he was a mind reader. Dylan didn’t hesitate to answer the question, just like before.
“Yes.. but I fucked up. She’s gone.” The man chuckled, patting him on the shoulder. The kind gesture made his heart warm, and he felt compelled to tell this man his whole sob story.
“Then what are you waiting for?” Dylan turned to the man as he furrowed his eyebrows. He noticed the little boy snoozing away, and it reminded him of how his mom used to carry him when he was younger.
“What do you mean? She’s gone.. She’s moving back home because she couldn’t even be in the same state as me. I-- I lost her for good.” Dylan felt himself choke on the words, the truth settling over him like ice.
“Do you love her?” He asked again. Dylan let out an aggravated breath, as he looked more closely at the man. He was older, his grandpa's age more than likely. He noticed the small gold band on his ring finger, and Dylan’s eyes shifted to the woman's who wore a matching ring with a small diamond in the center.
“Yes, b--”
“No buts.” The older man smiled at Dylan, giving him another pat on the shoulder as he turned to walk away with his wife. Dylan stood there, wondering what the hell just happened when the man turned his head back to him. “Son, by a ticket to Georgia and go get her back… although I don’t think you’ll need it.” If he wasn’t confused before, he was now.
“Wait what?” Dylan called out to the couple but they had already disappeared into the crowd. He looked around to see if anyone else had witnessed the strange conversation, but beside from the few stray cameras no one seemed to notice. He stood there for another moment, wondering how he knew where Y/N was going and the cryptic message along with the advice. Dylan’s internal struggle he was having was seemed to be brought to light at the old man’s words. His body moved on instinct, no longer frozen in place. He started rushing toward the ticket stand, prepared to get his heartbroken even more for the slight chance she might want to see him to.
“You know running away from your problems is a race you’ll never win Y/N.” You looked into the man’s eyes, tears threatening to spill.
“What if you don’t want to be in the race anymore?” You asked, biting your lip nervously. He patted your knee gently as he spoke.
“Then run. But just remember your heart,” he pointed to the spot where your heart was and smiled, “can withstand almost anything. It’s your head that you have to convince.”
You made your way through the airport as Charles’s words ate away at you, so much that you couldn’t get on the plane. He was right, you couldn’t run from your problems. Dylan might be gone, but you were happy before him and you would be happy after him. Eventually. It took forever to get your suitcase from the baggage claim, but finally you did. You adjusted your duffel bag on your shoulder as you rolled your red suitcase behind you, ignoring the stares you received from making a scene moments ago demanding your luggage back because you weren’t getting on the plane.
You passed the ticket desk, solely focused on getting out of the airport without drawing any more attention to yourself but your plans were ruined when you heard a voice that made your heart stop beating.
“What do you mean the next flight to Georgia tomorrow is booked? Seriously, how many could possibly be flying there?!” Dylan huffed out, a shocked and confused expression on his face. The lady at the desk gave him a tight lipped smile, with a short apology and offered him a seat on the next plane in first class for half the price. “Is there any other planes going to like Tennessee or Alabama right now, I can just drive the rest of the way if I have to.”
“Dylan… What are you doing here?” You didn’t even recognize your own voice at this point. His head whipped around hard enough to give him whiplash and you didn’t realize how close you had walked to the brown haired man. You honestly couldn’t believe your eyes or ears. You could have sworn they were playing some sort of twisted joke on you, because there was no way, none, that after everything he did to distance himself from you, he would be standing there asking for a ticket halfway around the country to see you.
“Y/N..” Your name fell off his lips like a prayer, and it made your heart skip a beat out of reflex. He was staring at you, an unreadable expression on his face. He didn’t make a move toward you as his honey eyes locked onto your frame, a lost look in his eyes told you he wasn’t expecting you here either. Looking at his face, his perfectly scattered moles and his mesmerizing eyes, all the anger over the past two days came bubbling to the surface before you could stop it.
“What the fuck are you doing here Mr. O’Brien?” He winced as if you threw something toward him, and it made you feel guilty for half a second. He closed his eyes as if he was mentally preparing himself,  but before he could open them you cut him off. “Oh I’m sorry.. I forgot I’m your number one fan. Can I have your autograph?”
“Y/N I-- I just wanted t-to say I’m--”
“Go fuck yourself Dylan. I don’t want to hear anything you have to say.” You turned your back on him, your head telling yourself you did the right thing, but your heart screaming at you for being such an idiot. You didn’t want to give him a chance to explain, all you wanted to do was become yesterday's news in the world of Dylan O’Brien. You noticed a crowd gathered around you both, everyone putting together who he was and who you were.
(Listen to this)
Dylan panicked as he watched her turn away from him, but he refused to let her go again. It was a split second decision, something he had scene in the movies, and he threw all his embarrassment away as he pulled out his phone and the small Bluetooth speaker he remembered to put in his pocket. She froze when she realized the crowd around them, and he was grateful for being a celebrity for once.
Dylan heard camera’s flashing, and in the distance he heard people pushing through the crowd to get to them. He looked around and noticed everyone had their phone’s trained on them, and took a deep breath.
“I won’t say it then.” He yelled from behind her, but she refused to turn around. If possible the entire airport went silent, watching what was about to happen and he felt his hands shake slightly. He had never been a singer, but he was willing to make a complete fool of himself in front of his fans and the reporters if it meant getting her back. He pressed play, and the music started to play through the air. He watched Y/N stiffen, immediately recognizing the song and she slowly turned around as he began singing.
I don't want another pretty face
I don't want just anyone to hold
I don't want my love to go to waste
I want you and your beautiful soul
He walked closer to her, careful not to scare her away as he tried his best to stay on tune. Her eyes darted around them, to the people with their camera’s and the reporters that had just shown up.
I know that you are something special
To you, I'd be always faithful
I want to be what you always needed
Then I hope you'll see the heart in me
She looked at him with fear in her eyes as he continued singing, and he decided to kick it up a notch. If he wasn’t famous before, when this video went viral he would be. He started to use his phone as a mic, and he saw the corner of her mouth twitch slightly and that was all he needed. He threw his arms toward her dramatically as he sang, then brought them back to his chest, swaying his hips to the beat slightly.
I don't want another pretty face
I don't want just anyone to hold
I don't want my love to go to waste
I want you and your beautiful soul
You're the one I want to chase
You're the one I want to hold
I won't let another minute go to waste
I want you and your beautiful soul
Your beautiful soul
Dylan reached his hand for her but she didn’t offer it in return. He didn’t let that stop him though, he grabbed her hand anyway. Y/N’s eyes went wide as he pulled her toward him, her duffle bag falling off her shoulder in the process. Dylan twirled her as he still held his phone as the mic, trying his best not to get sidetracked from the lyrics. He spun her out dramatically and back to his chest. She stayed in his arms for a moment but quickly shrugged out of his embrace. He didn’t let that deter him, as he reached for her hand again.
You might need time to think it over
But I'm just fine moving forward
I'll ease your mind if you give me the chance
I will never make you cry, c'mon let's try
He entangled his fingers with her as he stared into her stunning y/e/c eyes singing every word to her. The lyrics dripped with honesty and his feelings for her. She didn’t pull away from him, only giving him an incredulous look.
I don't want another pretty face
I don't want just anyone to h--
You didn’t let him continue singing, your heart not able to take much more of it. Your hand grazed over his as you reached for the phone, and it sent chill bumps over your arms. You pressed pause, and handed the phone over to him, careful to avoid touching him again. There was a  brief applause, but you just shook your head slightly.
“What did you think? That you could just come here and sing to me and everything would be fine?” You locked eyes with his pleading ones, but you managed to stand your ground.
“Uhh-- yes.” You tilted your eyebrows, and he closed his eyes for a brief moment. “No? No.”
“Well which is it?” You crossed your arms over your chest, and he gave you a small smile. You didn’t understand why he was looking at you like that.
“When you get mad, you have the most adorable crinkle right here.” He reached a hand to your forehead, and you couldn’t stop yourself from relaxing into his touch. “I came here to tell you I was wrong.. About everything. Especially about you.” You saw movement out of the corner of your eye and your noticed who it was. Teresa from MTV was making her way toward you both, and you clenched your fist.
“Don’t you think you’re a little late. Everyone thinks I am a stalker, I had to delete my twitter because of your fans. Your girlfriend came to my house and made me feel like shit, I--”
“Ex.” Dylan stated, trying to catch your eye again.
“What?”
“Ex girlfriend. I broke up with Britt, for good.” You didn’t even know how to respond, especially when Teresa had appeared with her microphone. “And I’m the one who lied.”
Your lips fell into a flat line, your heart still hammering in your chest. Dylan looked from you back to Teresa and he did the last thing you thought he would. He grabbed the microphone from her hands, and gestured for the camera man to come closer. The man looked skeptical, almost afraid Dylan would break the camera if given the chance but he moved so you and Dylan were front and center.
“I lied about knowing Y/N Y/L/N, because the truth is. I know her. Y/N Y/L/N is a terrible navigator, and a know it all.” Your lips formed into a small smile as he continued, “but she’s honest. When she makes a promise she keeps it. She understands me like no one else does, and I’m totally, head over heels, in love with her.”
Your breath caught in your throat at his confession, eyes wide with surprise and apparently everyone else’s went wide too. You heard the murmurs around you as Teresa’s jaw practically fell on the floor. Dylan turned away from the camera, his hazelnut eyes staring into yours and you gave him a small smile for the first time.
“Y/N I am so sorry. I can't blame you for thinking that you never really knew me at all. I tried to deny you but nothing ever made me feel so wrong, and I know I hurt you.. I thought I was protecting you from everything that I go through and ugh.. It just got so out of hand, and I know that’s no excuse. Y/N I promise to never hurt you again, if you just please.. Forgive me.”
Dylan and you seemed to have a silent conversation as you stared into each other's eyes. You finally looked away, tears threatening to blur your vision, when a hand encircles yours. It was soft and warm, reassuring almost, as ff the owner of that hand sensed your desperation.
“I love you Y/N, and I will spend every day for the rest of my life proving it to you, because you are the most amazing woman I have ever met.” He whispered, his expression utterly serious. You thought back to what Charles said about running from your problems. You have been running from one problem since Ryan, your heart. You were done running, done caging your heart like some fragile bird. It was meant to fly free, even if it meant you might get your wings broken every now and then.
"I--" You paused, silently staring into your favorite rich brown eyes, "I love you too."
"You really mean that?" His lips were turned up into a tiny smile, as he held your hand tightly to his chest.
"Yes, I do." You whisper, capturing his lips into a kiss that felt just right.
When she kissed him, his brain lit on fire and the warmth spread throughout his entire body. After that he was addicted, he couldn't bare to not to be with her. He forgot what her kiss felt like, and now that he remembered he was never going to stop wanting them. Those kisses were his salvation and his torment. He lived for them now, the way her lips moved against his were his home.
He pulled back, both of them out of breath. He quickly remembered where he was, a slight blush rose to his cheeks and he noticed a similar hue on hers. He couldn’t hide the smile on his face as he brushed a thumb over her cheek. He noticed Teresa was still standing next to them, smiling like an idiot and Dylan narrowed his eyes at her.
“Go away.” He huffed out, and you couldn’t help but laugh. The reporter took a hint for the first time, and left them alone. Dylan turned back to her, and they both shared the same kind of smile. “I really am sorry Y/N..”
“What about your movie.. Your life?” She bit her lip nervously, and Dylan reached to tug it out from her teeth.
“You are more important to me than any movie or any role.” The smile she gave him set his soul on fire. He walked around her to grab her duffel and her suitcase, before reaching out his hand to her. She didn’t hesitate to take it this time, and his cheeks were starting to hurt from smiling so much. He reached into his back pocket, handing her his black ray-bans and she laughed. “Come on, let’s go out to dinner.”
“Do I have to wear a disguise?” She took the sunglasses, waving them in the air jokingly.
“No.” He chuckled, rolling his eyes are her playfully.
“Do you?” She raised an eyebrow to him, and pulled her to his chest.
“No.” He stated simply, but there was so much more meaning behind it.
“Mmmm No thanks, I’m too cool to be seen with you now, encase you didn’t know, I’m some sort of celebrity now.” She laughed, putting on the sunglasses and giving him a dramatic hair flip. He frowned slightly but the goofy grin on her face made it hard to fake pout. “I’m just kidding, I’m 147 of pale skin and fragile bones, sarcasm is my only defense.” She started to walk away from him, but he froze in place when the quote registered with him. He tugged her to a stop, a smirk playing on her lips and he narrowed his eyes at her.
“You watched Teen Wolf.” It sounded like more of an accusation than a question and she laughed. She leaned on her tiptoes to whisper in his ear, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
“Stiles is my favorite.. I wonder, do you happen to have a pair of the Sheriff’s handcuffs lying around?” As quick as the words left her lips she was walking away again. There was a swing in her hips that made him let out a small moan, as he watched her walk away. The fact that she watched his show, even though she was so mad at him made one this perfectly clear. No matter what life would throw at them, they would still be able to support each other. He watched her with her head held high as people were still filming, and he realized he didn’t need to protect her from his world, because she was fully capable of running it all on her own.
And just like that, It’s over folks. The epilogue will be posted soon, if you want to be tagged, let me know <3

Tumblr media
The next day rolls around and before you know it, you're in your car with Theo in your passenger seat waiting for Liam to get out of his house. You tap the steering wheel growing impatient with the young wolf and Theo's constant glancing. You hated that you had to work with him but you couldn't complain. It would just cause a distraction and that's not what anyone needs at this point in time.
"Sleep well?" Theo asks and you send him a harsh glare before looking forward. "Look, I'm sorry." Theo says after letting out a groan and running a hand through his hair.
"Sorry doesn't take back what you did." You side eye him, not wanting to give him the satisfaction.
"I'm dif-"
"Shut the fuck up, before I hit you." You close your eyes and rest your head back, counting to ten in your head to keep yourself from murdering him.
"Sorry, I was making sure everything with Mason was in the clear." Liam says as he gets in the back seat.
"You're fine, Liam." You open your eyes and pull away from curb once he's buckled. After fifteen minutes of horrendous tension-filled silence with only light music playing in the background, you needed to break the silence. "So, why the zoo Liam?" You glance at him through your rearview mirror.
"Seems like a good place we'd all be hiding out. They think we're just animals anyway." He shrugs while you and Theo scoff at the same time.
"Fair enough, I guess."
"I don't know. Just seems like a good idea."
"I'm not judging. You had an idea and I didn't." You put your hands just above the steering wheel to surrender and quickly move them back.
As the ride continues, Liam further explains the plan they'd managed to come up with. It was risky and you couldn't help but second guess Scott's decision on having you with Liam and Theo. It seemed like Liam's part of the plan was more dangerous than helping with the armory. If everyone shows up at the zoo, the armory will be easy and they'll be in and out. While, on the other hand, you, Liam, and Theo would more than likely be murdered on the spot.
You see Mason's car on the outskirts of the zoo and pull in front of him. "Did Nolan follow you?"
"Yep." Mason says, holding a steady smile.
"He was behind us the whole time. So, your plan should work." Corey says as he appears from the passenger side of Mason's car.
"You two should probably get out of here then before they show up." You direct the younger boys.
"Right, yeah." Mason says. "Um, ya know, don't get yourselves killed."
"That's the idea." Liam says, not fond of the not so encouraging words.
"I'll make sure Liam doesn't die." You wrap your arm around his shoulders, sending him a cheeky smile.
"Okay, we'll see you guys after then." Mason says, tossing you his keys while you toss yours to him. The hunters will expect to see Mason's car but yours. Your car might tip them off.
You grab your bow and arrows from your truck before Mason can leave and the three of you were off to enter the zoo and find a place above ground in order to see the entrance where the hunters would likely show.
You find yourselves up where the wolves dens used to which you can't help but laugh at the irony. The three of you keep yourselves crouched behind some of the bushings that way when the hunters came, they wouldn't be able to see you.
What feels like hours tick by and all of your were growing impatient. They should have been there by now, unless the hunters think Nolan really is a moron and didn't believe him. Then, everyone would be totally fucked. You pull out your phone and text Lydia, asking her if the hunters had left yet. If they had, you knew Scott wouldn't be paying any attention to his phone while Lydia still might check hers. While you wait for a reply, you pull out an arrow and start examining it. It was something you did when you were growing impatient and had nothing to do. The arrows were visually appealing. Slick black with a silver tip, matching your bow.
"What are you doing?" Theo asks, his back leaned against a large rock while you're lying flat on your back.
"Looking at an arrow?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Because I'm bored." You sit up and stretch, cracking your back. Both boys look at you with cocked brows. "What? My back cracks sometimes." Before either of them could say anything, your phone vibrates against your pocket. "Apparently, the hunters left. They should be here soon. How do you get them to know we're here?"
"What do you mean?" Liam asks.
"I don't think they're just gonna scope out the area." You slide your arrow back into the case and slide the strap over your head and around your torso.
"Well, we'll figure that out if we have to." Liam remarks and moves his attention below, waiting for the hunters to show up.
Finally, after only a few more minutes, the three of you hear a large SUV pull up. Nolan and a few older hunters get out and start talking. You can't hear a word they're saying but Liam and Theo are listening intently. From what you can see, it looks like they're having a not so casual conversation. Nolan looks defensive and fearful while the older hunters seem to be annoyed they have to deal with a child.
"They don't believe him." Liam whispers, not moving his stare. "They're gonna leave."
You look at Theo as he looks to you and you can almost see a lightbulb go off above his head.
"Isn't that right?" Theo yells to the sky. Your eyes narrow as you look at him in disbelief.
Liam's snaps to turn at Theo. "Why are you yelling?" Liam's whispers.
"You got a problem?" Theo continues to yell and you and Liam look at each other completely confused and a little concerned about Theo's mental stability. "Oh, that's right! You always have a problem!" Theo screams, gesturing with his hand as if to actually be having an argument with Liam.
"What the hell are you doing?" Liam keeps his voice low, trying to figure out what Theo's on.
"Shut up!" Theo yells and Liam's head jerks back, completely surprised and seemingly offended. Before Liam can say anything, Theo's fist collided with Liam's face, sending him backwards. Your jaw drops at the sudden violent act.
"What the hell, Theo?" You roll your eyes, watching Liam regain his footing.
"Come on, Scott! You know he's no good in a fight!" Theo continues, almost taunting Liam to knock him out.
"Theo. Shut up." Your eyes widen as you stare at him while he stands up.
"He's only good in a fight!" Theo ignores you and Liam while he continues his random outburst.
Theo leans forward again and punches Liam. You back away a little knowing Liam won't be able to handle Theo's outbursts or punches again. When Liam gets back up, his eyes are yellow and his claws are showing. You let out a frustrated sigh as Liam lunges toward Theo. You sit a few feet back and watch as they throw punch after punch until even Theo's claws come out and Theo claws Liam in the stomach while Liam just keeps punching him in the nose. At this point, you really wish you had popcorn to watch it because all you've wanted was watch someone kick Theo's ass and Liam was doing a pretty good job. Sometimes, a beta with anger issues isn't always a bad thing.
Twenty minutes of grunting and groaning from the punches and they finally stop. Liam stands a foot away from Theo while Theo leans against the large rock, blood dripping down his nose with a bruise healing by his eye. Theo looks over his shoulder while Liam looks past him, the both of them listening to what the hunters were saying.
"They believe we're here." Theo says, nodding to you.
"I guess that's one way to get attention drawn to ourselves..." You raise your brows, slowly shaking your head.
"Are we done then?" Liam asks, fed up with the fighting.
"Yeah." Theo says, leaning his head back.
"You two are bloody." You wince, standing up and walking over to them.
"You ripped my shirt." Liam says, very offended as he looks to where you had pointed out all the blood.
"And you broke my nose...twice." Theo starts. "You broke it. It healed and then you broke it again. Two times!" Theo holds up two fingers with his last words and Liam looks to you, lightly swaying his head back and forth before lunging at Theo and punching him in the nose again.
"Three times." Liam smiles with pride.
"Niceeee." You hold out your fist for Liam to fist bump you.
"Thanks, you should try punching him sometime. It feels good."
"I'll keep that in mind." You laugh, looking down at Theo.
"You guys suck." He groans, slowly getting back up with more blood spilling from his nose.
You and Liam laugh in response before waiting for him to get up so you can walk to another location. You walk to a different denned area where you can see the hunters, now multiple SUVs crowd the street below you and your nerves start to kick in. So far, it's going okay but now the hunters are all showing up here and that's putting you at risk of being killed. You can only hope Scott and Malia are already in the armory gathering everything. If not, this plan is going to backfire.
Once in the den, Liam comes up with an extension to the plan to make sure you, Theo, and him can get out alive. He used his random history knowledge to help and you and Theo couldn't help but stare at him as he rambled, impressed by his words. Liam wasn't dumb but he wasn't a straight A student either. You felt like a proud mom with him rambling actual facts at you. He was learning things, even if he did only know them because he's a history buff. When you and Theo go to walk up the stairs, Liam stays, watching the hunters.
"Hey, come on. I don't plan on dying today." Theo says, tugging on Liam's arm but Liam just jerks it away. Theo looks at you and you simply shrug. "Still working on your anger?" You scan over Theo, questioning how he would know that or even remember or care for that matter if Liam was working on his anger. What's it matter to him?
"I'm fine." Liam says through gritted teeth.
"We need to go then." You pipe up and Liam sighs, turning around, ready to follow you out of the den.
Once out of the den, something seems to shift. Liam is trailing behind while you and Theo are ready to get out of that zoo. When you two turn around, Liam looks like he's about ready to shift and kill someone.
"Liam, you need to calm down." You stop where you stand and eye him.
"I could just go now and handle them."
"Now is not the time to play hero." Theo says, stopping beside you.
"We have a chance now." Liam tries to defend but you and Theo aren't having it.
"Let's go." You both grab him but he jerks away, his eyes shining yellow.
"Let me go!"
"What is your problem?" You and Theo question at the same time.
Tumblr media
"Nothing, okay? We have the chance to take them now so we should do it. It's less we'll have to deal with."
"You're insane. Scott will kill you and that's if you make it out alive."
"Gotcha." A voice pulls all three of your attention to the side and Nolan is standing there with a crossbow.
You grab an arrow from your back and line it up with your bow, aiming at his head. "Got it aimed at your head kid, you shoot, I shoot." You warn, not budging for anything.
Out of nowhere, Liam lets out a growl as his eyes glow yellow again, his fangs extract with claws and he tackles Nolan over a small cliff. You drop your aim as your jaw drops. You and Theo glance at each other before quickly moving to the edge of the cliff.
"You need to do something." You say as you watch Liam start punching the hard rock, growling in Nolan's cowering face.
"I have to knock him out." Theo says, as if he were asking for permission.
"So, do it before he kills him."
Theo doesn't say anything else before hopping down. He goes up to Liam and punches him in the back of the head. Liam falls limp with the impact and hits the ground. Theo stares at Nolan who looks a child lost at a supermarket.
"Run." Theo says and Nolan does just that.
Once he's out of view, you clear you throat to get Theo's attention. "Can we get out of here now?"
"Yeah, hop down and help me carry the Incredible Hulk here."
You let out a genuine laugh at the nickname before hopping down and wrapping your bow around your arm, putting your arrow back.
Carrying a knocked out Liam who kept waking up and needing Theo to just knock him back out, was incredibly difficult. Liam was heavy despite Theo picking up most of the weight and walking through the zoo terrane didn't help at all. It was all hills and rocks. Your legs were going to be killing you by the morning from this walk alone.
By the time you reach Mason's car, the sun was already almost completely down. The sun going down set a rush of relief over you. The plan worked. At least, on your end anyway. You hadn't heard from Scott but no news is good news.
"I'll drive." Theo says once you and him get Liam into the backseat.
"Whatever." You toss him the keys and get in the passenger side.
"Are you going to keep giving me the cold shoulder?" Theo asks, once you're on the road, on the way back to your house.
"Yep." You look out the window, leaning the seat back just enough to not hit Liam's face.
"Will you at least hear me out then?" Theo glances to you and you sigh.
"Fine."
"I'm sorry for what I did, okay? I didn't mean to hurt you."
"Your plan when you got back to Beacon Hills was to kill my brother and take over his pack. How was hurting me not a part of that plan?" You come right back but keep your gaze at the window.
"I mean," Theo says, pausing just barely. "I mean, I didn't expect to have anything to do with you and when it started, it wasn't to get to Scott. I know it seemed that way and it definitely didn't hurt but that's not what it was. I know you don't believe me and you have every reason not to, but I'm telling you the truth."
"Would you have used me though? If using me would have gotten you closer to Scott, would you have done it? You killed your own pack." You finally look to him, searching his face for any honesty that might leak through the lines near his eyes.
"I don't know." Theo shakes his head while his voice falls guilty and shameful.
"Okay, now I'm listening." You completely turn to face him and he glances at you with wide eyes.
"What?"
"That's the most honest thing you've said. You're owning up to your shit. So keep going."
"When they sent me to Hell, I deserved it." His voice falls quiet and your brows furrow as you watch him. You might not have any of the super senses Theo has, but you can sense he's broken over whatever he went through in Hell. "It was bad and it gave me time to think about all the fucked up shit I did and I'm just sorry."
"Alright." You say with the nicest voice you've used with him since before you left, not ready to give him the forgiveness you actually want to. Forgiving, now of all times, wouldn't be a good idea. He could flip the second the hunters are gone and Scott might be willing to risk that, but you aren't. Theo looks genuinely remorseful and shameful, two things you'd never seen on him before, but he broke your trust and if he wants forgiveness, he has to earn it with your trust, after, you defeat the hunters and the Anuke-Ite. "I'm gonna try and get a quick nap in before we reach my house and have to deal with everything Scott has to say. Just wake me when we get there, yeah?"
"Yeah." Theo nods, saddened that you were ending the conversation and you turn back over with his response.
A little time passes and Liam wakes up. What neither of them know is that you're awake and are listening to every word between them. Theo goes on about how people can only feel one emotion at a time. The way he interacts with Liam is odd to you. Theo almost looks out for him in a way Liam needs. Scott's too nice where Theo, literally, just punches him in the face, something you've been telling Scott to do for two years. In some weird and obscure way you'll never understand, Theo sees something in Liam that humanizes him.
Theo lightly nudges you and you sit up, facing him as the car comes to a stop outside of Liam's house. "Hey, can you give me a ride to your house? I want to talk to Scott about something." Your eyes narrow and he huffs. "I just want to talk."
"He helped me not killed Nolan, let him talk to Scott." Liam groans as he gets out of the backseat.
"Fine." You roll your eyes and exit the car. "Any idea where Mason put my car?"
"Oh right," Liam says, stopping halfway up his driveway. "He's at your house with Scott and everyone. Said, he was waiting till you got back so he could get his car."
"Ah, right. Okay." You nod and get back in the car. "Alright, go to my house." You buckle your seatbelt as Theo makes the short drive back to your house. When you arrive, Argent's car is parked outside along with yours and Lydia's. "I guess everyone is here." You shrug to yourself and get out of the car, Theo not far behind.
"Hey, so, did everything work with you guys?" You ask the second you walk through the door.
Scott hangs his head and your shoulders drop. "Not exactly. They knew we were coming."
"Well, now what?"
"We come up with another plan." Scott sighs. "Did everything go smoothly with you guys though?"
"Well, yeah pretty much. Theo had to knock Liam out five times but no one died." Scott's brows furrow as he looks to Theo. "Liam almost killed Nolan because your beta still has some anger issues he needs to sort out."
"He's working on it." Scott defends.
"He is." Theo says. "He broke his hands trying to control himself."
Before saying anything else, you look over to Lydia who seems panicked and out of it. It's been months since you've seen her but you could never forget the look on her face when her banshee premonitions start happening. She either looks distant and intrigued or distant and horrified and that's if she isn't wandering around the wounds out of her mind.
"Lydia?" You ask hesitantly.
"Get down!" She screams, pulling Mason to the floor as the window in the kitchen shatters with bullets being fired.
Theo grabs you and pulls you to the floor, hovering you to shield you from any bullets that may come your way while Argent and your mom duck down, trying to shield each other. Scott and Malia do the exact same. The gunfire just pours into the house as if they had all the ammo in the world to use. Your eyes squeeze shut against Theo's chest, hoping that if you keep them closed, no one will be injured when you open them but, sadly that wasn't the case. When the gunfire finally stopped, Theo's arms loosen just enough for you to be able to breathe properly. You look to him with thankful eyes and then look to Scott who was fine but in the middle of the two of you, your mom laid on the floor, reaching her bloodied hand up.
"Mom?" You nearly yell as you scramble out of Theo's arms to go to her. "Mom?" Tears swell in the back of your eyes at the sight of your bloodied mother.
"I'll call an ambulance. Is anyone else hurt?" Malia asks as Scott sits on the other side of your mom. You hold pressure on her wound while Scott takes her pain.
"Lydia and Mason are bother shot." Theo says, as he reaches the other two who can't heal.
"Theo, you get pressure on Mason and I'll get pressure on Lydia." Argent says, looking distraught over what had just happened. "Malia, how's the call?"
"We need an ambulance, or three at, what's the address?" She trails off and looks down to you and Scott who are too busy making sure your mom doesn't die to pay attention to her. Argent and Theo ramble the address at the same time and Malia repeats it to the 911 operator.
After what seems like an eternity, your house was packed with paramedics and your street was filled with Beacon Hills police and ambulances. You and Scott stuck by your mom's side until they put her in the ambulance and said you two weren't allowed to come with.
"I'll drive." Theo says, taking your car keys out of your hand while Scott and Malia were already piling into Lydia's car.
"I got it!" You snap at him and reach for your keys.
"Get in the damn car." He stares you down and points to the passenger side.
"Fuck you." You mumble and get into the passenger side of your car.
Theo mumbles under his breath but you don't make out what he says and don't bother to ask. It'd spark an argument and you just needed to get to the hospital. Theo follows right behind Malia, speeding right along with them as they follow the ambulance, sirens and lights bouncing around the darkened streets. Your fingers tap against center console vigorously while you bounce your leg, growing impatient with how slow everything seemed to be going.
"Can you hear her heart?" You finally look at Theo, realizing he can tell if she's alive or not.
Theo doesn't say anything at first but then he glances to you and back to the road. "Yeah."
"If you're lying to me so help me I will-"
"It's faint but it's there. I'm not lying." Theo shakes his head once as his hands clench around the steering wheel.
Once you get to the hospital, they immediately rush her into surgery, leaving you, Scott, Malia, and Theo standing absently looking at the double doors, not able to follow. You look at Scott and the only other time you've ever seen your brother look even close to this broken was when Stiles almost died from the Nogitsune. You wipe your cheeks where tears had been slowly falling and you walk up to him.
"She's gonna be fine." Your voice tries to hold steady as you swallow the lump in your throat.
"We have to give up. We can't fight this." Scott's defeat hits you and you shake your head.
"Scott, don't worry about that. She's gonna be fine and we're gonna figure it out later."
"I can't-" Scott shakes his head as tears fall. "I have to-"
"Just go sit, okay? I'll see if I need to fill out any paperwork and you sit, okay?" You look over to Malia and she guides him to a part of the waiting room that wasn't swarmed with people.
You take a deep breath and head to the desk where you only have a few papers to sign since your mom already works at the hospital. Theo stays a few feet behind you but his eyes never leave you. It's as if he was waiting for you to collapse at any given moment and just break.
"I don't need you following you." You lick your lips as you walk past Theo.
"I know." He nods, following you back to where Scott was sitting, his hands clasped into a large fist holding his head up. "But I'm not gonna leave."
"I'm gonna step outside, can you get me is something happens?" You ask Malia, glancing at Scott knowing he was drowning everything out to focus on your mom's heartbeat.
"Yeah of course." Malia agrees. "Do you want me to call Liam or anyone?"
"No, just uh, we'll wait until Mason is out of surgery to call Liam. Thanks, though." You nod and walk away.
Your heart beats faster as your chest grows heavy the closer the exit comes. Tears start slipping from your eyes with every step, the lump in your throat growing so large you almost can't breathe or swallow. Once outside, you walk along the building away from the ambulance parking. Your back hits the brick wall as you toss your head back, ignoring the pain as you let out a loud sob, tears cascading down your face. You start to sink down the wall as your legs start to give out but Theo's arms wrap around you, holding you up. You cry into his chest, too weak to pull away from him.
"I can't lose my mom." Your whine muffled by Theo's jacket.
"You're not gonna lose her." Theo says, resting his chin on your head.
"Yeah?" You pull away with your eyes completely bloodshot. "And how you do know?" You yell with a shaking voice.
"Anyone that can raise you and Scott and partially Stiles, can survive anything."
"We were a handful." You admit.
"Were?" He shakes his head, giving you a smirk.
You can't help but give him the faintest smile at his attempt to make you feel better. "Yeah, shut up."
"She's gonna be okay." Theo repeats as he steps back to you and wipes the tears from your cheeks.
"It's just," Your clench your jaw. "If they want to attack the werewolves or anything not human," You shrug, meeting Theo's gaze and not feeling complete and utter hatred for him in the moment. "It'd be different but they're shooting up my house with my mom, dad, Argent, Mason. Me. We're all human. Don't get me wrong, I'd still fight with my brother but," You shake your head as your sorrow starts to turn into fury. "You don't attack humans! These people aren't hunters! They're cold-blooded murderers!" You storm away from Theo and he quickly follows you.
"What the hell are you doing?" Theo keeps up with you as you reach your car.
"Unlock the trunk." You demand, pointing at the vehicle. He pulls out your keys and unlocks your car. You open the trunk and pull up the floorboard revealing an extra compartment.
"Are you kidding me?" Theo asks, his brows quirked.
"I was trained by an Argent. What part of that is confusing for you people?" You question without looking at him. You grab your case and pull out your spare bow with arrows.
"Okay, what are you doing?" Theo sighs as he watches you start walking.
"Monroe wants to play dirty, fine. I'll make sure I can take an arrow to her fucking head after I send one through her damn shoulder and her arm and her leg. Make her suffer a little." You keep going, not looking back.
"Stop." Theo walks behind you. "You're gonna regret it."
"How do you know what I'm going to regret? You don't know me." You bite back as you turn on your heels, Theo nearly running into you with your sudden turn.
"Maybe." He shrugs. "But the y/n I remember, wouldn't go kill someone unless it had to be done. And this doesn't have to be done, not right now and not on your own."
"I have you, don't I? You want me to forgive you. Okay, so come help me. You're the one with experience."
Theo scoffs and looks at you with disgust written in the wrinkles of his forehead. "What the fuck happened to you?"
"What do you mean what happened to me?" You voice stays harsh as your eyes darken with more anger.
"You don't kill people. You don't go off on your own without a thought-out plan. You don't do this. So what the fuck happened?"
"You did." Your eyes narrow as your face softens a little. "You did. So, are you coming with me or not?" You don't bother going into detail with what your words meant.
Theo wanted you to and you knew he did. No matter what exactly you meant, it was his fault even if was indirectly. You were angry and short-tempered because of him and you didn't even care, not anymore. People you trust turn their backs on you and then they leave. They have to be taken away to learn their lesson. It fucked you up a little.
"No." He shakes his head. "I want you to forgive me and give me another chance because I've changed and me going out on a killing spree with you," He pauses as his hand runs through his hair. "That's not me. And you'll get killed."
Your shoulders fall as your head hangs. "My mom might die...I can't stand here and do nothing." Forlorn finds itself in your words.
"She's not gonna die." Theo places his hands on your shoulders, enunciating every word. "Look, you don't have to like me or forgive me right now," Theo reaches down with one hand and takes your bow from your hand. "But, I'm here for you. Scott has Malia and I'm here for you and you're just gonna have to suck it up."
"I still hate you, but okay." You nod softly and hand him your arrows.
"Seriously? I can't believe you just have spares hidden in your car." He chuckles, lightly wrapping an arm around your shoulders.
"Well, yeah. You never know when you might need them." You lean into him, feeling his warmth and realizing how chilly it was.
You wanted to hate Theo. Oh, you wanted to so fucking bad it hurt your bones. He did the ultimate betrayal but now his arm is wrapped around you, keeping you warm and making sure you don't do something stupid and you can't help but question if people can change. You did, who's to say Theo didn't in Hell? You turned angry and tired instead of being light-hearted and sarcastic. Is it possible for Theo to have gone from sadistic murderer to someone with actual humanity? Maybe and maybe you were becoming more and more willing to give him a chance. He tried to kill Scott and Scott still lets Theo help. Scott's the optimist while you're the pessimist but this is different. You and Theo only had sex but that was more on his terms rather than yours. You never complained of course but somewhere along the line, you fell. You fell headfirst down a very firey slope. It was more than sex to you at that point and it terrified you. Now, after months of hatred and hoping he was suffering for a thousand lives in Hell, you're finding yourself falling back into that. But, you refuse to say anything. Theo doesn't deserve it. He hasn't proved himself enough for you to do anything besides work against the hunters with him.
Theo puts your bow and arrows back in your car before the two of you walk back into the ER waiting room. You two sit opposite Scott and Malia. Theo takes his jacket off and slides it around your shoulders before taking your hand in his. His touch and gestures are managing to keep you calm and focused and he knows that. While Scott listens to your mom's heart and the surgeons, Theo is paying attention your heartbeat and chemosignals, making sure you don't go off the rails and storm out.
Finally, Scott's head falls into his hands as he lets out a breath and your eyes widen, as you become fixated on your brother. "Scott?" Your voice shakes as tears start to swell again, hoping it was a sigh of relief. "Scott!" You pull his attention.
"She's o;kay." He nods, looking up to you.
"She is?" Your chest feels like it can finally expand correctly with the words.
"Yeah. They said she's gonna be fine."
You sit back in your chair, head falling back as your chest heaves with complete relief, now tears wanting to fall from the overwhelming emotions. Theo squeezes your hand and gives you a soft smile with a kind nod.
"Thanks." You mouth to him before giving him the same soft smile.
Before you and Scott know it, one of the surgeons comes out to inform you on what happened in surgery and that she would make a full recovery. You were told a nurse would take you back to her recovery room when she would start to come to. When the nurse shows up, Theo and Malia tell the two of you they'd wait in the waiting room whenever you were ready to leave.
The room is dimmed as you walk inside, side by side. As you stand by her bedside, she looks too pale for your comfort. They said she was going to be fine, but you were someone who would believe it when you saw it.
"Kids." She groans as he eyes flutter open.
"Mom, hey." You say.
"I have to tell you something." She says with heavy breaths.
"Mom, you don't have to. We're gonna leave and it's-"
"Stop." She cuts Scott off with her soft voice. "You two, listen." She looks at you but moves her stare to Scott. "You fight, don't run."
You look up to Scott and nod, ready to fight any hunter than came within a ten-mile radius of you.
"Okay." Scott says.
"Get some rest. We'll be right outside." You give your mom a weak smile before placing your hands on Scott's arms and guiding him out of the room. "Alright," you start once the door is closed. "We need a plan."
