Mirai had started rambling to himself without realizing once more, the pollen compelling him to spill his train of thought as he watched the odd teen step out from a shadow. Probably a ghost type, but maybe dark... hard to tell in this place.

Well, no one ever said it was going to be easy to teach a teenage boy how to read. Nevermind having him pay attention long enough to properly grasp the lessons. After she had gone through all the trouble of creating flash cards, picking out suitable books, and buying a set of letter magnets for the english alphabet that not even she was readily familiar with. Despite Shadow Link's current disinterest, however, Tsuru hasn't given up quite yet. Perhaps, she thinks, it's time to give him more motivation.

Said motivation consisting of sweets. Children could be inspired by simple things such as those, right? Only one way to find out for sure. Wordlessly, she sets down her flash cards and retrieves a plate of cookies from the oven, no doubt prepared before his arrival to serve as reward for his hard work. But though there was work being done, there seemed to be hardly any progress.

Such was to be expected... "Here, why don't you try having something to lift your spirits while you try reading some of the cards I hold up for you? Or we could switch to the letter magnets. I'd like for you to be able to understand small sentences, first of all." Teaching him is, without a doubt, a labor of love for her...even if she does look the slightest bit annoyed on account of his mild disinterest. “Shadow Link...are you listening? This is not something to be done overnight. It will be a slow and gradual process.”
