Chat is it toxic to have thoughts of an arranged marriage au where Katara and Zuko are stuck in a strictly political arranged marriage and have agreed to do their own thing (ie: Zuko will stay in the Fire Nation and be Firelord while Katara stays in the water tribe as the active Chief), but Zuko has been having a secret affair with Sokka since before the arranged marriage? Sokka is an ambassador for the SWT in Caldera so they ended up getting really close (even though Sokka isn’t there 24/7 bc he travels a lot). And now things have gotten really messy and the palace staff has gotten too close to figuring things out and no one knows what to do…this is soap opera level drama but I’m kind of living for it

Legolas started Arwen on self-defense and weapons training.

In his defense, it’s standard practice amongst the silvans to have both self-defense and weapons training regardless of what gender you are, regardless if you decide to be a warrior or not. It never occurred to him that it’s completely different for the light elves.

He would just show up and gift arwen a bow or a sword and be like “hey, you wanna learn this cool move?” Complete oblivious to the side eyes the more traditional light elves were giving him.

It wasn’t until celebrian remarked her great-fullness of his encouragement of Arwen learning how to fight despite how uncommon such a course of action would be in their society that Legolas goes: “wait, what?”

At which point he doubles down on it and teaches Arwen even more bc “fuck the patriarchy”.

Also, he’d be divorced, disowned, demoted, and probably killed if he ever even thought that elleths were incapable or should not be warriors. The elleths in his life do not appreciate or put up with being looked down on.

lots of dw (specifically timepetals) content outside the show is very sweet and i do enjoy it but the thing with that ship is that so much of their beauty lies in the restraint!! like rtd was so good (maybe too good) at toeing the line but never crossing it and that’s one of my favorite things about them but i feel that element is lost a lot in other works which i GET bc yes i want them to be kissing and shit in s2 too but they’re not and i think that the story that is created by all that yearning finally culminating in tentoorose is sooo worth it
