Let's put the angst back into pon farr - the deeply rooted shame

#currently writing........................#picturing: What if Tuvok's bond with T'Pel makes him yearn for her through his pon farr even if he has to spend it with another person?#the shame and guilt and disgust of not only experiencing the indignity of the pon farr at all but also not spending it with T'Pel #and the horror that he'll have to (ostensibly) endure this every seven years for the next seventy #when you're suffering and probably SHOULD logically bond with another person to help you get through the fever #but the fever wails and agonizes - drowning you in the sorrow and love you've been suppressing in order to function #crushed between a rock (you're suffering even more bc you're still bonded to T'Pel) & a hard place (to break your bond with T'Pel would be #agony - it's all you have left - this pain is all you have left)

Thinking about River affectionately calling the Doctor her “madman in a box” only after he's called her his “bespoke psychopath,” and vice versa. They each were called these words by the other before ever using them to describe the other.

Thinking about the way they defy reality for each other. How modern psychiatry elevates objective reality to gatekeep full participation in society, yet they shatter objective reality with love — “I can’t let you die without knowing that you are loved.” and “You are always here to me and I always listen and I can always see you.”

Thinking about “What's the mad fool talking about now?” and how Gallifrey ostracizes those labelled mad, going so far as to see it as failure in children. Thinking about “A child is not a weapon!” “Give us time.” and how Kovarian equates psychopath with weapon as a tool of dehumanization and control.

Thinking about the way the psychiatric-industrial complex inflicts violence upon those who deviate from psychosocial norms. How their relationship was born in violence, but of madness — not madness in a post-Enlightenment framework of opposition to Reason, but madness as radical compassion that doesn’t demand so-called rationality — “Every time you've asked, I have been there.”

Thinking about how neither of them chose “psychopath” or “madman,” but they both own those words as instruments in their own agency.

In honor of bullets turning 21 here are my super well thought out and deep profound thoughts on each song.

1. Romance: chill. Calming. Kinda spooky sounding. Lulls you into a false sense of security.

2. Honey this mirror blah blah blah: something about this one sounds so passionately angry and i absolutely love it. Like you can hear the vitrol dripping from his words its GREAT

3. Vampires will never hurt you: so iconic. So cunty. So sad. The whispers at the end always get me. I love how it starts off kinda slow.

4. Drowning lessons: makes me want to cry. Also i love how gerard sings kerosene idk it just like, scratches my brain really good.

5. Our lady of sorrows: aw yeah. Catholic imagery? Screaming and really raw vocals? Fast and aggressive? This song is my SHIT.

6. Headfirst for halos: you know what i love? A actually kind of depressing song that you can shake ass too. That's what i love.

7. Skylines and turnstiles: i mean she's the first ever mcr song, i have to give her her flowers. I don't listen to this on as often as i should but she ate.

8. Early sunsets over monroeville: ahahahahha this song makes me want to jump off a fucking bridge. How fucking dare you my chemical romance. How. Fucking. Dare you. My favorite song off of bullets for sure.

9. This is the best day ever: i love the story that this song tells, it's really intriguing to me. Also i love the "every hour. On the hour." Bit, also a brain scratcher.

10. Cubicles: AGAIN i don't listen to her as much as i should. Its really good though but so sad :( he judt wants pretty office lady to like him :( and then she quits :(

11. Demolition lovers: is this the most romantic song ever written? Could be. Another song that makes me want to blow my brains out with a gun.
