Since Interview with the Vampire has been in the media so much lately, “Moon Over Bourbon Street” has been playing on heavy rotation in my head. It was the song that first led me to the books, since Sting wrote in the liner notes of Dream of the Blue Turtles that the first book was the inspiration for the song.
I ended up singing it for my senior show in high school. At that point everybody already knew I was a weirdo, but I figured I would go out as a fabulous spooky weirdo. I knew the guys on the lighting crew, so I got them to give me a single blue spot on a dark stage. I wore a 1940s-style dress in black with pink and red rose appliqués, pale makeup with bright red lipstick and dark eyebrows, and heels that took me up to six feet. I was surprised that I got a pretty good reception in that little farming community. Maybe there were more vampire lovers in the cornfields than I suspected.
Anyway, I’m very fond of this recording, not just for the arrangement (which is totally worthy of fondness on its own merits) but because I think this song works really well with a female vocalist, and this lady is very good. Which is probably weird, what with it being written from the point of view of a male character, but the whole source material is so steeped in queerness that what the hell.

Hey you guys remember him? He was my favorite character from the series back then
My design for Draxum in tmnt 2003 universe, he's an alien from a planet of warriors but it's now retired and dedicates his life to science...

green man's grimace or a requiem for bunny
i told myself i would turn back at the end of the old farm road. i wanted to beat the rain home, but there i was nodding my head to that kuromy album and next i knew i was looking at the creek just this side of sandy springs. i had to run my errands all muddy with my hair wet and curled like forman's mom's worst perm

Dream #2:
I was hanging out with Donnie watch him playing video game. No bad guys no danger at all just chilling in the sewer. I am glad that I have to spend time with my friends (well turtle friends). The female turtle Alphira (my beautiful oc) on the other hand typing her tablet didn't say anything. Leo makes funny pick up line, Mikey draw pictures of him & his brothers which I found it adorable and Raph is just training. I think April hang out with her slime friend Sunita. Yeah relaxing without fighting enemies was fantastic (or maybe I was thinking too much since I keep saying no worries). Oh and Master Splinter watch the television falling asleep.

ok not the best screenshot but it's kinda hard with all the high contrast from his shiny rage art but
I'm so pleased that he looks more toward his old T6 model, well at least from what we can see so far 🙏
Also, I never mentioned this but lol, the nerdy dmc fan in me liked associating his T7 coat with Vergil3 but now that Dra's sporting a *black* coat I ofc can't help but think of Vergil5 x'D.. And the gloves match too. Also also, lmao, did he steal re4make Leon's shirt or..😂
Anyway I'm happy he looks more vampiric too, gah wish fulfilled 😭👌👌

I feel so ashamed I actaully followed an ad and bought something
but also not so ashamed bc a) i am getting two new beautiful necklaces (a dragonfly and a turtle!) and b) I'd seen stuff about it before it was only this ad that made me go finally 'okay given that this is a closing down sale of this thing I will make my final decisions regarding purchases' so the ad didn't really influence anything it just made me get on with it

Day One Thousand One Hundred and Eight
Then I went off to fight some battle
That I'd invented inside my head
Away so long for years and years
You probably thought or even wished that I was dead
While the armies are all sleeping
Beneath the tattered flag we'd made
I had to stop in my tracks for fear
Of walking on the mines I'd laid

There's a moon over bourbon street tonight
I see faces as they pass beneath the pale lamplight
I've no choice but to follow that call
The bright lights the people and the moon and all
I pray everyday to be strong
For I know what I do must be wrong
Oh you'll never see my shade or hear the sound of my feet
While there's a moon over bourbon street
It was many years ago that I became what I am
I was trapped in this life like an innocent lamb
Now I can never show my face at noon
And you'll only see me walking by the light of the moon
The brim of my hat hides the eye of a beast
I've the face of a sinner but the hands of a priest
Oh you'll never see my shade or hear the sound of my feet
While there's a moon over bourbon street
She walks everyday through the streets of New Orleans
She's innocent and young from a family of means
I have stood many times outside her window at night
To struggle with my instinct in the pale moonlight
How could I be this way when I pray to god above
I must love what I destroy and destroy the thing I love
Oh you'll never see my shade or hear the sound of my feet
While there's a moon over bourbon street

When the players want to strike on their own outside their collectives, they do have a wish to be understood much more than they were within the confines of their original bands. Sting, to give you an example, felt a need to prove himself. Therefore, The Dream Of The Blue Turtles, his debut, reflects the troubled production that occured thanks to such a mindset at the time. The LP seems to present a struggle of someone avoiding what he did before without disregarding the latter completely. He appears to be tense, since he demands to be taken as a real deal despite him achieving that with The Police. I mean, listen to his singles from the album, even they sound like him chasing the persona of a serious musician, worthy of a serious consideration.
