Just things from the AU, just after she gets him back for good. 💕 The idea that Inquisitor Lavellan just gets their identity erased in portraits really stuck with me...😬 Poor Myrra.

Edit: Myrra has a very complicated relationship with her culture and people but cares for them deeply. She let's Solas remove her Vallaslin for example because he shows her what it stood for back in the days. Despite all that she still identifies as Dalish.

I'd like people's opinions on whether they think Solas and Lavellan were either on the hush hush about their romantic relationship. Or if they didn't really bother to hide it. Because I cannot decide.

Like...what's the attitude surrounding it?

Cause on the one hand. Companions like Vivienne and Sera voice that they noticed "lingering looks* and that could be chalked up to either Solavellan not being shy about their attraction, or its just Viv and Sera being really observant. Course, Cabot also makes a mention of inky's relationship status but his comment stem from vague rumours and he never specifies who Lavellan "has time to bed," so he doesn't really count.

And there's Solas's part in it. From his comment at The Winter Palace "you'll not gain favour with the court by dancing with an elf," gives the impression that maybe he's somewhat conscious of how his relationship with her could be a bad thing. Living in the bigoted world they live in (especially in Orlais where its extra concentrated) and he wants to...idk? Preserve her reputation? So that could be a motivator for him to hold back. Also, Solas just doesn't really strike me as the kind of man to do PDA of any kind.

But he also doesn't strike me as someone who would really care about bigots and their opinions. He's very vocal when he doesn't agree with something usually, and this is the same man who openly wore a helmet that belonged to a notorious rebel group who rebelled against Orlais AT THE WINTER PALACE.

So if anything, the fact that Skyhold is teeming with Orlesian nobles would just spur him on to declare that he is with the Inquisitior out of spite and pride.

Yet, he probably wouldn't be declaring their relationship on account of the whole being the bloody Dreadwolf thing. Being the lover of the most famous person in Thedas? That's a lot of attention he doesn't need. Especially when he's a crap liar.

Then by Tresspasser its commented on by nearly everyone that Lavellan and Solas were a thing. But are obviously no longer talking considering he fucked off for two years. So, we can assume Lavellan (either frustrated or just venting sadly) became open about their relationship at least until after Solas left. But at that point keeping it a secret was pretty pointless.

So I'm not entirely sure which way I lean..

Games That Help Me Cope

With December looming only a few months away and sadness slowly descending upon me, I’ve been replaying all of my favorite games and decided to make a short list of some games that make me feel better so the next time I feel shitty I can come here and look at it

> Our Life: Beginning and Always by gb-patch > Our Life: Now and Forever (demo) by gb-patch > XOXO Droplets by, once again, gb-patch > Andromeda Six by Wanderlust Games (I especially love the Tea Time with Oppo DLC) > Blooming Panic by robo-barbie > Oathbreaker 1 and 2 by Larky Labs / Imp-Queen / Rinmaru (I’ve been a fan of Rin’s games since they made Ascension which was actually the game that got me into VN) > Monster Sweethearts by llonelly > the Mass Effect games by Bioware > the Dragon Age games by Bioware > Stardew Valley by ConcernedApe > Boyfriend Dungeon by Kitfox Games

and a reminder to myself/anyone else reading this that might need it.

I know things are hard right now. I know you’re struggling and maybe it feels like things have been bad for awhile but you’ll be okay. You can get through this. You’re strong. And when you can’t be strong on your own, there are people who will help carry the weight. You have friends and family and even just random strangers on the internet who care for you and will help ease that burden.. Take a deep breath. Drink some water. Have something to eat. Find something to distract yourself. I know things are bad right now but they won’t be bad forever.
