No but like. The fact that even after he is no longer "The Cure" Rex is still with Providence is a mix of fascinating and heartbreaking. Is it because he was not allowed to rest? Or is it because he can't? In the several years prior to the ending, he was essentially in the middle of a constant adrenaline rush- was he allowed time off, or was he simply told to keep going, or did he reach out to continue with both hands because that's all he knows?

Hey, I’ve been seeing a lot of people cooling themselves off with hand fans lately, and I had another (admittedly kind of silly idea) for Shiro’s Bayard weapon.

Behold:

The tessen, also known as the Japanese war fan.

Imagine Shiro bopping mofos upside the head with this thing and then taking a moment to cool himself off with it after the sweat he just worked up.

But in all seriousness, I think it could make for an interesting secondary transformation for Shiro’s Bayard.

Like monk’s spade I showed you the other day, it’s not inherently lethal weapon. The tessen could also provide utility in blocking and parrying strikes in close quarters combat. And think of the potential for energy attacks where Shiro waves the fan and literally blows enemies away.

Just a fun thought I wanted to share with you.

People talk about books going on for too long or a series not knowing when to end but personally that is my dream. My ideal book series has 26 entries and each book is 2000 pages long. I want to never run out of material. Thank you

#most of the fiction i read is fantasy pulp that i specifically seek out because i just want something fun to do in my downtime #i read plenty of books that have more merit otherwise i just also like to have a book series that's like a soap opera #just something i can put in front of my eyes and turn most of my brain off for and enjoy the fun magic and dragons #it's a bonus if they have more of a like. point to them besides entertainment but it's not necessary #i saw someone talking about one of those book series for me and they were like yeah it was good but it went on too long #and i was like wow can't relate. i think it actually ended too early #it's a completely valid complaint when it comes to certain series where the main point of the media isn't just to tell a cool story #instead of watching tv i like to read my stupid fantasy novels

Yknow what Spenser's GM style reminds me of, and the overall vibe of Candela Obscura? The Until Dawn and Man of Medan games. It's not only the haunted atmosphere, a horror plot but also Spenser's directorial choices with the camera in his storytelling. The way the camera lingers on different set pieces or stays on one shot even after the characters leave the scene.

And almost the mechanics a little. The way the misses/mixed successes/successes also remind me a little of the quick-time events and in general the fork-in-the-road decisions the characters have to make. There's even premonitions in those games so Marion's medium features almost adds to it.

#if only there was real downtime for the series it would be even more like Until Dawn/Man of Medan/etc #but we get only 3 eps #jericho watches: candela obscura #for the 1000th time

Macau snickered, still grinning at him. “I didn’t know you were so clingy, Hia.”

“What are you talking about?”

Macau snickered again and Vegas shot a glance at Pete, who simply offered him a raised-eyebrow, wide-eyed, far-too-innocent look that made alarm bells ring in Vegas’ head. He returned his gaze to his brother, narrowing his eyes threateningly. “Macau.”

Macau just grinned at him, entirely unintimidated. “Who knew the terrifying Vegas Theerapanyakun was so cuddly?”

Despite himself, Vegas felt heat surge into his face at those words and he glanced away, but Macau had already seen and laughed delightedly.

“No one would believe it if I told them! Good thing I have pictures.”

i think i finally figured out why the series that were running during decade's run (kamen rider decade, fresh precure, and samurai sentai shinkenger) mean so much to me on multiple levels.

back in september 2012, my grandma lost her battle against her pulmonary fibrosis and this, more or less, devastated me because she was not just my grandma, but someone that i could talk to about anything and everything. she always was my cheerleader who made me believe that i could do anything i put my mind to, raised me herself when my mom was busy getting her masters in teaching, took me to so many vacations and we always had so much fun together.

so, having her be gone from my life was a horrible blow that i think really worsened my depression to where i'd spend most of my day in bed and tend to not do anything, which is why it took me three years to finish my associates from itt tech.

but then, i had a friend introduce me to precure while i was still grieving and my very first season was fresh, a series that i still hold near and dear to my heart. hearing the upbeat opening and endings helped a metric fuckton and i had something to look forward to when my friend and i would watch those episodes together every day.

then, the very same friend told me to watch samurai sentai shinkenger, and to this day, hearing psychic lover's "chan chan bara, chan chan bara~" is still an earworm that'll get me to sing along to the opening, no matter how bad my japanese pronunciation is. it wasn't until i completed the trifecta of the 09 super hero time series by watching the crossover episode that i also became interested in decade as well and started to watch that, too. i really enjoyed seeing tsukasa, natsumi, yusuke and daiki on my screen every time i watched an episode and each episode definitely brought me to tears (shinkenger and fresh precure also did the same thing, too.)

because of fresh, shinkenger, and decade, i was able to process my grief a lot easier and start to heal so that my grandma could see that i'm still moving forward and improving myself while still keeping her in my heart.

thank you to decade, fresh, and shinkenger for being there for me to grieve easier, and overall, keep on bettering myself day by day.
