SLIDING DOORS 1998
Everybody's born knowing all the Beatles lyrics instinctively. They're passed into the fetus subconsciously along with all the amniotic stuff. Fact, they should be called "The Fetals".

💥 First look 💥 at Ivan's new Comedy Ink short film 'Contagion' filmed in early 2022, directed by co-producer Douglas McFerran. 😱🎩 It's a no-dialogue visual horror story and almost 10 minutes of pure Ivan. 👌👑 Can't wait to show you more. 😀 Happy Monday!

Sliding Doors    [trailer]
A London woman's love life and career both hinge, unknown to her, on whether or not she catches a train. We see it both ways, in parallel.
I like 'what if' movies. And this one really seamlessly blends the two story variations. Worth a re-watch.

Mountain Language (BBC, 1988)
"Who did this? Who did this?"
"A big dog!"
"What was his name? What was his name? Every dog has a name. They answer to their name. They are given a name by their parents and that is their name, that is their name! Before they bite, they state their name. It's a formal procedure. They state their name, and then they bite. What was his name? If you tell me one of our dogs bit this woman without giving his name, I will have that dog shot!"
#harold pinter#Mountain language#1988#BBC#classic tv#Single play#miranda richardson#michael gambon#eileen atkins#George Harris#Tony haygarth#Julian wadham#Anthony askew#Douglas mcferran#Whilst Pinter had always been political and his writing had always reflected that (although to be fair I'm not sure that it's#Possible to write an apolitical play) I think it's fair to say that in the second half of his career those views became sharper and more#Developed and that he began to shape his work more around them. In general this was at least partly a response to living through#The Thatcher governments and all the right wing reactionism that entailed. Specifically in the case of Mountain Language however#The sharpness of that political bite is inspired by the authors visit to Turkey with fellow playwright Arthur Miller in the mid 80s#They had seen firsthand the suppression of the Kurdish people and their language and Pinter began this short play almost immediately#Although it wouldn't be completed until 88. A searing caustic fable about an anonymous totalitarian regime it is one of his#Bleakest and most upsetting works. It's closely related in theme and style to One For The Road (a truly extraordinary play which has never#Left me since I saw a televised version around the time of the playwright's death). Dark horrible and snarling. Pinter himself rejected the#Idea that the play was either agitprop or that it was a literal or metaphorical depiction of the plight of the Kurdish people#Rather he was making a larger point about dictatorial powers and the suppression of language (Brian Friel's Translations covers a similar#Theme in a very different way and there's an interesting comparison piece waiting to be written about the two plays). This TV version must#Have been made very quickly after the late 88 premiere of the stage play and reunites stars Gambon and Richardson. She's very still and#Very quiet in righteous indignant fury; he's wonderfully grotesque as a tinpot soldier turned inhuman tormentor. Heavy viewing and#With some very unpleasant scenes: nevertheless an important and sadly all too relevant snapshot of cruelty corruption and mundane evil

Review- Zomboat! Episode 5
Review- Zomboat! Episode 5
Episode 5 of Zomboat! is the penultimate episode of Season 1 and it gave the audience a chance to catch their breath before the grand finale. Instead of the fast paced action we have gotten used to we take a turn at some character development.
As the episode begins Zombie Jude (Callum Kerr) is still following them and Jo (Cara Theobold) is growing more concerned about his obsession with her. How…
