Ava Gardner was a staunch supporter of civil rights for African-Americans throughout her life. As a child growing up in North Carolina, she would often sit with African-American children in segregated parts of movie theaters. Her personal assistant, Rene Jordan, was African-American, and Gardner would often take her to clubs that were for whites only. She supported Henry A. Wallace of the Progressive Party, whose campaign in 1948 for the presidential election sought racial equality and desegregation. She became a member of the NAACP in August 1968.
Born Ava Lavinia Gardner in Grabtown, North Carolina. Ava died on January 25, 1990 at the age of 67 of pneumonia.

no matter what ship you ship, there is always one thing I feel all MCR fanfic authors silently agree on
the go-to movie for literally any situation known to mankind, from gut-wrenching angst to shameless smut, is always Dawn of the Dead

I think The Great Race is the first movie I haven’t really enjoyed. Like, it’s not terrible or anything - it’s certainly better than Misty Island Rescue - but there was just a lot that dragged it down for me.
Like Diesel, for instance. All his subplot amounted to was taking Thomas out of commission. I think something that could have been fun was if he was upset that he wasn’t chosen to go, so he sneaks after the engines to sabotage them. And maybe he finds a way to shift the blame onto Ashima, giving Thomas a different reason to dislike her at first.
And there’s the railway show itself. It takes until halfway through the movie for them to actually get there, and then they blow through all of the competitions. If the movie focused more on it, and maybe shown the show sooner, we could have gotten to know the railway show engines a little. Maybe not their life stories or anything like that, but enough to justify making all of those new characters and never seeing most of them again.
And I know it’s been talked to death, but it would have been cool to see Gordon take the lead this time. Percy got two movies to himself - Well, more like one and one third - so why couldn’t Gordon?

My top headcanons for some of the Ninjago cast because I’ve started rewatching this show yet again and my hyperfixation is coming back with a vengeance:
Kai
Functioning alcoholic
Needs hearing aids due to being way too close to way too many explosions
Multilingual (fluent in English, Spanish, Japanese, and sign language, and has picked up bits and pieces of many other languages)
Always feels very warm to the touch and can easily withstand exposure to extreme heat
Zane
Goes nonverbal fairly frequently
Special interest is birds and has an encyclopedic knowledge of them
The friend who says he’s not gonna drink but has to get dragged home from the bar later
Exclusively wears hawaiian shirts in his downtime during the summer
Jay
Was homeschooled and it shows
Still has some vestigial snake-like features from when he got turned into a Serpentine (weirdly sharp teeth, slitted pupils, etc)
Had a very confusing crush on Kai for a while and refuses to tell him
Gives off tiny static shocks when touched and can grab live wires without any ill effects
Cole
Stoner (no pun intended)
Will occasionally forget that he’s not a ghost anymore and walk face-first into walls
Can play several musical instruments but it’s just not his passion
Despises wearing shoes and can’t think properly unless the Feet Prisons are removed
Lloyd
Has a lot of vaguely oni/dragon-like habits and physical traits that deeply unsettle everyone
A sucker for trashy romance movies
His natural hair color is brown but he got way too committed to bleaching it and refuses to let it grow out
Bit people as a child (and still does)
Nya
Has the highest alcohol tolerance out of the entire team
Is still somewhat distant towards both of her parents and will always see Kai as more of a parental figure/guardian
Never got a formal education and forged her high school diploma
Has a gap between her front teeth
Pixal
Does math equations for fun
Was originally designed as genderless but decided she was female after becoming self-aware
Has zero qualms about breaking the law (has been arrested before)
Gets frighteningly intense playing any board game
Skylor
VERY tall (like taller than most guys)
Has tattoo sleeves on both arms and several on her torso and back
Tried to date Kai before she realized she was a lesbian but they both kinda forgot to tell people that they broke up
Always has the most gorgeously done acrylic nails
Morro
Hung around the monastery after DotD to make amends and has become its resident mildly irritating poltergeist
Has several ear and facial piercings that he did himself
Still has a rocky relationship with Wu and Lloyd but is generally pretty amicable with other people (he’s still kind of a grumpy asshole but he’s trying)
Really likes Deftones

So I will be starting a Ninjago rewatch tonight, mainly to list boats and dragons.
But I'll separate it into two separate titles, even though it is the same rewatch.
So we'll have The Boat Rewatch and The Dragon Rewatch.
I think I will be doing a post each for both at the end of every season, with links to the next and previous seasons.
I will also definitely post stuff about random things I have noticed during these rewatches, because that's what happens. Though some seasons will have more posts than others, some of which may be long or short.
But anyways, here are basically the rules I have made for what will be considered and not considered on the list (mainly because a certain boat called the fucking Destiny's Bounty exists):
If a boat/dragon pops up multiple times in a season without modifications, it is only being counted the first time it pops up.
If a boat/dragon gets modified, or get partially destroyed and rebuilt, it will count.
If a boat/dragon pops up in one season and pops up in the next with no changes whatsoever, it will not be counted in the next season's list.
Motherfucking Skybound. This season has a shit ton of strange boats, so their may be some that technically shouldn't be counted that do count, because the concept of them is weird. So chances are a miscellaneous villain vehicle that is more of a jet may be put on the list. This does not mean any other jets will be put on the list though.
In the case of boats/dragons for background villains, there may be miscounts due to the fact that (especially in a case like the Maaray guards) I cannot tell the villains apart from each other, hence I have no clue if a certain boat/dragon has popped up before and it is the same person riding it.
There may be boats/dragons (more likely boats) that I miss. Just a heads up Especially in the dreaded Oni (Boat) Trilogy.
I am only watching canon stuff. So shorts will count. But shorts such as the Skybound ones will not count because they have been said to be non-canon. But shorts like the Mini-Movies, Legacy, Prime Empire Shorts, and Core shorts will be counted, as long as they actually have new boats/dragons.
If a form of a boat/dragon is included in a story, I will count them separately from their actual physical form.
If a minor change occurs for a dragon/boat one episodic change occurs that is resolved within that same episode, that note will be italicized, signaling that though the change has been noted, it will not be included in the actual total.
If a dragon/boat is pictured in a scroll or banner, it will not be counted in either italicized or total, as there are too many instances of this occurring in many seasons, especially with the same dragon/boat on multiple different things.
Tags will include:
the boat rewatch
the boat rewatch list
the dragon rewatch
the dragon rewatch list
the boat rewatch notes
The last tag is going to be more for my posts just noting random things, but they will be under the Boat Rewatch rather than the Dragon Rewatch because the Boat Rewatch was the original idea, and is personally more important to me than the Dragon Rewatch.
Anyways, I will probably get the Pilots done tonight, and will probably post their lists tomorrow.
The Boat Rewatch
Pilots/ NS1/ NS2/ NS3/ NS4/ NS5/ NS6/ DotD/ NS7/ NS8/ NS9/ Legacy Shorts/ NS10/ NS11/ Prime Empire Shorts/ NS12/ NS13/ The Island/ NS14/ Core Shorts/ NS15/ DR
The Dragon Rewatch
Pilots/ NS1/ NS2/ NS3/ NS4/ NS5/ NS6/ DotD/ NS7/ NS8/ NS9/ Legacy Shorts/ NS10/ NS11/ Prime Empire Shorts/ NS12/ NS13/ The Island/ NS14/ Core Shorts/ NS15/ DR
I will probably remove some of the places for links listed above, since I'm sure some of the stuff will have no new boats or dragons whatsoever, meaning that having a link or place for a link to that season/group of shorts will be useless.

So who would you say would be the most popular one of the Ninjas and after they reveal themselves? Since in the movie Lloyd seemed to be the most beloved and in the show Zane even had his own fan Club! Who would like which ninja for what reason?
Lloyd ofc is the most popular (though he does still have quite a few detractors for…reasons…). Whether or not he actually wants the extreme amount of attention complicates many things for him.
After that it’s probably Zane, given that he’s revealed (and exposed as a Nindroid) around the same time he “dies”, and the resulting response for his loss and sacrifice is super touching.
Everyone else is only exposed within the city— it takes S4, Post-S4, and S5 for the ninjas as a collective to gain island-wide traction, which leads into their popularity surge of S6.
At that point, Jay is the one with a fan club (potential future League of Jay? Hmmmm) which makes Kai get jealous and try to up his social media presence + make that crazy fangirl wish down the line snksnk. But due to Kai’s tendency to lead in the clutch, he gets a lot screen time on the news and thus has plenty of his own fans anyway.
Nya gets popular after defeating the Preeminent, though this has a bit of backlash when it’s revealed that this is what caused Djinnjago to be destroyed -> events of Skybound (which do not get erased). She recovers after S7 and winds up even more beloved than Jay and Kai.
Jesse is actually popular with the “little people” as he’s always the one that’s getting personally and directly involved with getting citizens to safety, so while it may not be as many people, he’s loved with more direct passion, I suppose.
Skylor earns a rep as a “Amber Ninja” cryptid which she has hilariously mixed feelings about snksnk
Cole…has his fans, especially for his strength and looks but he’s by far the least popular (which certainly doesn’t help his already downtrodden mental state come DotD 20X3). (Cole: What am I doing wrong??? Jesse: NOTHING BABE THESE PEOPLE JUST HAVE NO TASTE)
The Second Coming of Samurai X (aka Pixal) tends to wipe the floor with all of them, though.

So fam, you seem to like to talk about ghost Cole. So tell me, how would you rewrite dotd? :)
I love talking about ghost Cole you are correct
The obvious first step is make it a season like it was supposed to be. DotD was just too short to set up much and the filler fight scenes didn’t help it. You could also have a longer special or a movie. Either or works.
The second is we should’ve gotten to see more of Cole BEING a ghost before we got to see him not being a ghost. I think the Chinese version did some parts of DotD better in that regard because we did at least get to see an exclusive intro where the ninja are training together. Cole gets knocked into a rack and suddenly they leave without him. We also get to know it’s happened before because if iirc he says smthn along the lines of “not again..” which did a better job of setting things up than the English version.
Have him use his ghosty powers for stuff to showcase the positives before having the ninja forget about him more and more as the episodes go on until the viewer is firmly aware something is VERY wrong and this isn’t just a cute holiday season. It starts with minor things you wouldn’t notice and gets more and more intense as the show goes on until Cole is forced to recognize he’s being forgotten.
It then becomes a race against time for Cole to find a way out of it before it’s too late, perhaps along with some of Yang’s trickery along the way? He also slowly grows to have a spite for Yang. Maybe you could also explore some of the duality between the side of him that’s used to being a ghost and the side of him that wants to be human again. Maybe the lines of life and death have blurred for him now that he’s fading, and Morro is trying to guide him (he probably has no clue it’s Morro until the end lol) to make up for his mistakes. Mostly because I think Spirit/Sandstorm duo would be fun to explore plus Morro shouldn’t be gone from DotD completely.
Obviously eventually he’d break and go to Yangs temple again. Morbid curiosity? He finally found a way? He’s just salty? Who knows!
I don’t think releasing the villains would serve any real purpose tbh. The ninja have already forgotten him and having former enemies pop up would only cause suspicion, plus it leads to the filler fight scenes, their only real purpose in the story anyways was fan service.
Anyways I want the fight scenes with yangs students to be more exciting. I want full on ghost brawls where they’re flying all over the place and fighting mid air and zipping through obstacles and walls and possessing weapons n stuff like cmon. We were robbed!!
As much as I love Ghost Cole I don’t think he’d stay a ghost. They had a point it DOES make him too overpowered in the long run and kinda means you have to write around it all the time when introducing stakes. It’s kind of already showcased a lot in the fandom where people will write fics in which he’s in a situation that shouldn’t really affect him as a ghost at all, but he’s still affected since you can’t put water everywhere and it’s hard to account for everything.
I do think he deserves the right to be permanently AFFECTED by his time as a ghost and it should be addressed more often. I want Cole to have a full blown panic attack when he and Jay go in the swamp to rescue the workers in S7. I want his lava arms and their connection to his time as a ghost and how he feels about them to be explored. I want various side effects to rear their head like him collapsing from exhaustion in the middle of a mission because he’s not used to sleeping or him struggling in a fight because he has to completely relearn his old fighting style. I want Vangelis to use his past to toy with him via necromancy and he’s absolutely terrified of going back to that life again or being stuck under his control because of the stupid leftover ghost traits.
Obviously this is just a concept, though who knows, maybe there’ll be a Spectral Flight sequel some day when I finish writing it. It probably wouldn’t be canon, but it’s a fun idea 👀

Here's the cover for my rewrite of DOTD. I based it on the tatmr posters. The top feels empty maybe i should add more characters? Belle and Flynn were also going to be on here but i couldn't fit them :P
If you watch Bridgerton then you're probably familiar with Arsema Thomas (she's young Lady Danbury). She "voices" my oc Atta while Christopher Ragland is still Percy. Diesel 10 sounds like he had in Misty Island Rescue And since my version also serves as a sequel to tatmr Thomas has his movie VA.

It's kinda funny seeing people mourn the original concept for The Lego Ninjago Movie, which involved the ninja traveling back in time to stop the Great Devourer from biting Garmadon, and fighting snake warriors. Because we still kinda got that, in the very same year no less?
Hands of Time is an interesting case in that it's kind of a transitional season, the end of an era; It came out the same year as The Lego Ninjago Movie, and was meant to take up the Winter slot before TLNM showed up for Summer. It was our last season with the traditional designs, and for a while our last season with a Weekend Whip-style remix of intro, before TLNM and led to a soft reboot in the Oni trilogy. The Oni trilogy gave us updated designs based on TLNM's, under the original plan of attracting new fans from THAT continuity over to the main one. I believe it's even jokingly implied within the show that the butterfly effects from the time travel of S7 led to the S8 redesigns! And Legacy kinda contributes to that idea...?
The point is, 2017 was a strange year for Ninjago with a lot of change, even in different writers who temporarily replaced the Hagemans, who eventually did leave for Wildbrain to take over. One could argue Hands of Time was created as a way to pad out time between Day of the Departed and TLNM's releases! And Day of the Departed drew a lot on prior Ninjago entries, so it was like a whole year just waiting for TLNM to premiere before applying it to mainline Ninjago canon.
And I think that applies to Hands of Time, because a lot of it is based on that old TLNM concept I mentioned earlier! Early designs for the snake warriors from the first draft of the film were repurposed for the Vermillion in Hands of Time. It was a story about time travel, and so is Hands of Time. The Great Devourer plays an important role, being the incident the ninja are trying to prevent in TLNM's first draft, and in HoT, the mother of the Vermillion horde.
Obviously there are differences; TLNM's first draft centered around the past as the primary setting of the story, and it was about the heroes trying to undo a past evil. Whereas for HoT, time travel isn't achieved until the last episode, and it's about villains trying to undo past good. But a lot of the concepts were clearly carried over and repurposed, because they were perfectly good concepts drawing on previous ideas mainline Ninjago already explored (snake warriors, the Great Devourer's legacy, time travel).
A few years later we even got the Golden Hour short, which continues the story of HoT just a bit more, and has Wu almost allowing Acronix to unwittingly prevent Garmadon from being bitten by the Great Devourer; The original goal of TLNM's time travel draft. And probably how that draft would've ended, if Lego had rolled with that plot instead.
So while some are insisting TLNM should've been about this original concept, it's ironic to me because we technically still did get that first draft, in the same year as TLNM, right before it! So 2017 really is the year of TLNM, all of it, even Hands of Time. And as I said with Day of the Departed, it also draws upon a lot of past Ninjago events, lore, and concepts, such as the Serpentine War, Elemental Masters, Great Devourer, and Chen alluding to Ray and Maya. Krux was introduced via his alias in Day of the Departed. It kinda feels like a remix, like the Legacy and Core lines we'd later get.
That again gets me back to the idea that it's almost as if Lego was trying to do a final callback/retrospective on classic Ninjago as we knew it, to prepare us for a new era heralded by TLNM, and they used up basically a whole year as they waited for the people working on TLNM to figure things out. Before DotD is Skybound, which is technically retconned, and that makes Possession feel like the last big arc for Ninjago (before TLNM) that brought new, lasting things and wasn't worried about being second fiddle to some other production. It did give us ghosts, the sixteen realms, and establish Nya as a primary ninja. Possession is also the latest in terms of Legacy representation; Skybound, Day of the Departed, and Hands of Time are left out.

Dumb AU challenge.
Shuffle up the Ninjago timeline by random number and rewrite how the mixed up seasons would still flow with a rewritten narative.
This means the Ninja could be working solo until S1 happens 4 seasons down the line. Nya could be merged with sea as soon as 2 seasons. Etc.
The only restriction would be for Day of The Departed has to be either before Hands of Time or after Possesion. And The Island has to be before Seabound.
The list of Seasons:
Pilots (and mini movies)
Rise of the Snakes
Legacy of the Green Ninja
Rebooted
Tournament of Elements
Possession (w/DotD epilogue)
Skybound
Hands of Time (w/ DotD prologue)
Sons of Garmadon
Hunted
March of The Oni
Secrets of Forbidden Spinjitzu (Fire and Ice Chapters can be 12a and 12b)
Prime Empire
Master of The Mountain
Seabound (w/ The Island prologue)
Crystalized
Another restriction that can be applied would be to shuffle the timeline in two portions of WILFilms Era and WildBrain Era.
WILFilms Era being Pilots through Hands of Time-
And WildBrain Era being Sons of Garmadon through Crystalized.

For the non-shipping ask meme: Ice Age, of course!
Aww thank you so much for asking! :) <3
M/F BroTP: Ellie and Diego. I really liked how DoTD gave them some scenes and an important moment together with Diego protecting her during her birth with Peaches. Diego fairly glows around the herd's mammoths, especially Manny (like he does with no one else!) and I headcanon that Ellie did try to get Diego to talk about his problems - before he decides to head out in IA3 - before defaulting to Manny since Diego is guarded with her and won't be as open like he is with her mate.
F/F BroTP: Mothers and daughters can count as a friendship, right? In that case, I love Ellie and Peaches' dynamic. Ellie is a good mother, she lets Peaches be herself but she still corrects her if necessary. Peaches as well seems to have a good relationship with her mother and it's sweet to see, becos it's always nice to see comfortable mother/daughter bonds in fiction.
M/M BroTP: Manny and Diego, of course! :) <3 For so many years now they have been my longest-adored friendship. Part of the reasons why I LOVE Manny and Diego goes back to IA1 and how they save each other virtually back-to-back in the story, and more so, are willing to risk their lives to the point of being willing to die for each other, and that just creates deep bonds and a strong friendship; this is even supported by science! I also love how pivotal Manny is to Diego's redemption arc and how he helps him grow as a character in IA1, which goes back to the whole "self-sacrifice" thing he teaches Diego as IA1's story plays out. And this is another reason why the sequels were such a disappointment to me, I was so hoping to see IA1 callbacks or inverses of IA1's ending scene with the Battle at Half Peak with Manny protecting Diego - since a tiger alone has it rough! - and that never happened, nor was their beautiful friendship explored/fleshed out as it deserved, imo … Anyway, their friendship is my favourite in many many ways I could go on and on about it tbh...
crack BroTP: Uh, I guess I would say Buck and Diego (most of these are Diego or Manny-based lol I noticed. Diego has many "circles" within the herd's dynamics because he is the glue not Sid! ;)) but it's not even really cracky becos Buck and Diego have good chemistry. Buck & Diego is also a good dynamic becos I learnt recently from the IA3 BTS - Buck is Diego's foil. He foils Diego, since he's wild and carefree, whilst Diego's heart has always belonged to the herd, even though he tries to leave it and so they have a good push and pull to their dynamic/bond with each other.
dynamic I didn’t expect to like: Hmmm... I think I am go ahead and say... Diego & Peaches! Sure, for me, it's mostly headcanons, but I remember when I heard about IA3 I didn't expect Diego's connection and chemistry with the mammoths he lives with to be explored like it was, and the fact that he was present at Peaches' birth gave me so many feels, oh my gosh, and I just fell in love with an uncle/niece dynamic btwn Diego & Peaches and it's become my second most treasured Ice Age herd family bond becos I love the idea of them being close and Peaches admiring Diego and thinking of him as something of a "second father" :) whilst he adores her wholeheartedly. It disappoints me so much still that officially we didn't get many scenes btwn them in the movies/specials to flesh out that dynamic but Peaches' relationships with her adopted uncles were so shafted and I'm still not over that ngl. :((((
dynamic I didn’t like: In all honesty, Sid and Diego.... their dynamic doesn't have the same vibe and earnestness that Manny and Diego have and Diego imo kinda always looks annoyed or bored in scenes he shares with Sid, especially in the sequels. The fact that the Sid/Diego "ship" is so popular is another reason, tbh, why I don't like this dynamic - they're suited more as brothers than a romantic ship imo. 🤷‍♀️ Heck, their entire dynamic is "little bro annoys middle bro constantly" let's be honest! Also I am aware this opinion is sure to be unpopular. 🤷‍♀️
